This is my neighborhood Costco. My family gets our bulk items here (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, diapers, etc.), occasional meat (chicken thighs, rack of lamb), and pre-prepared food to make our lives easier. It can get pretty crowded so we try to go on off hours and if we must go on a weekend, we try to go really early. On time we went during the morning executive hours, before it was open to the public/other "tiers" and you bet my husband raved about this perk throughout our shopping experience. Anyway, he likes going more than me, and we (he) have a system of perusing the aisles in a certain order. When we come, we somehow end up doing bigger than anticipated hauls... a bag of frozen dumplings here, a box of thinly sliced frozen lamb for hotpot, a box of pears, a box of tomatoes. Their bagged salad is a favorite item, and we get all our booze from Costco. I can't skip over mentioning their food court, where you can get huge slices of pizza, a hotdog and a drink, and other items like a turkey pesto sandwich that I really like. Brought my car in for tires at the 75th snd 59 location in Naperville. They removed the tires put new tires on the wheels and damaged not one but all 4 wheels. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Filed a complaint with the bbb, thry responded . Asked for pictures, so I sent them pics and they did zero. Asked me to clean the rims so they could get a better look at the wheels[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The dirt that was on them when they changed the tires was the same dirt on the pictures, which clearly showed scratching occuring thru the dirt. I have no resolution as of now and the incident happened close to 6 months ago. I'm attaching pics of the damages so others can see the slip shod job their tire dept. does. They fail to take responsibility for their actions, but that's fine I have social media that will speak volumes for me. I will not let up until they fix the wheels they damaged. Standard Costco with good selection. Food court is nice. I recently got the pepperoni pizza, chicken bake and hot dog. The hot dog and chicken bake were great. However, the pizza quality seems to have gone down hill but was still good. All in all, a nice Costco option in the area. read more

Overall Review of Costco in general. For those of you who have been Costco customers for many years (I am a couple years shy of 30 years), you have probably noticed the overall decline in the quality of Kirkland products and the decline in the overall confidence that the items you want will actually be in stock. This was the first year that we will not get a customer refund large enough to cover our renewal cost, and that is because we are purchasing more at Sam's than ever before. Sam's is not a replacement for Costco, but after receiving a nearly free membership at Sam's a couple years ago, we have been doing more and more of "warehouse" buying from there. Firstly because of convenience. 85% of the time do my purchases by scanning with my phone as I walk through the store. 10% of the time I use their hand scanners to scan the items in my cart (no back and forth unloading and loading), and the rest of the time I go through standard checkout. Even when I scan my own items, I am nearly always waved through, not item check by the person at the door because you go through an arch with cameras that checks your items. When I buy their gas, I scan a QR code, it "knows" which pump I am at. No playing with cards. Second Sam's seems to do a far better job keeping staple products (such as organic eggs or cage-free and organic eggs) in stock than Costco does, in my opinion. Third Sam's quality control seems better on the products they produce in-house and that are produced for them. I can't believe I am saying this, just do a simple comparison between Sam's and Costco's muffins and tell me which you prefer, regardless of price. Now compare their roasted chickens, which is larger and which tastes better. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I feel the quality control at Costco in general has nose-dived. Their frozen sea food, their meat department, dairy, produce, etc. You can no longer grab a Kirkland product and feel confident it is quality. What is so sad is that about 5 years ago I stopped buying meat from Costco all together. I probably only purchase steaks occasionally from their meat department if the meat looks good, no red goo. As for their tires. I will no longer buy their tires. Why ... service. It takes to long to get a flat fixed. When I buy tires, I don't want to leave the car for a half or a whole day to get it done. I recently paid $60 total more to get the same tires at Discount Tires, just because I knew I would not have to leave the car for hours, and I would be able to have them services confidently. So in summary. Costco is no longer my main stop for most items. And if the trend continues downward, I may no longer renew my membership. But I am really starting to think the management has NO consideration for the shopping experience. There have been hiccups here and there: too few checkers, lack of stock, but never anything thing that just made me think they really don't care. Until now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their new self-check-out is ridiculous. You are supposed to run your items over the in-place scanners (no hand scanners for customers), place all your items on the counter. Then when you are all done, load the items back into your cart[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. It is one thing to scan your own items, bag them, then put them in your cart at a regular grocery store or Target, but it is another thing to handle a Costco load this way. Items are often large, even if light, and many are difficult to run across their in-place scanners. Their process is slow, poorly conceived, and clearly designed with little regard for the customer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Suggestion: Give the customer hand scanners to use. Or allow the customer to scan their item and immediately place it back into the cart. Customers should not have to pile up their items, then have to transfer them all back to the cart.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If they need to see an efficient self-check out process in action, I suggest they take a trip through their local Sam's Club. Wow. It doesn't take a genius to see how ridiculous their process is, and it shouldn't take customer feedback to get it corrected. read more

Where else but Costco can you find incredibly inexpensive beer and liquor, dog food by the ton, huge, greasy slices of pizza and hundreds of free-sample crazed old ladies running into you like hyperactive reject extras from AMC's "The Walking Dead" - life doesn't get any better than this ;-) Often, I seriously consider cancelling my membership to avoid the stress of repeat visits, but I don't - clearly, I'm "warehouse whipped"... All seriousness aside, most Costco locations are more or less the same and look much like this one does. It's very clean inside and fully stocked with merchandise. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staffers generally are friendly and helpful, though occasionally individual staffers get overwhelmed and/or impatient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That said, this (and all the other Costco locations I've visited) offers a good selection of quantity food products with a big discount. Rather than pontificating at excessive length, I'm going to hit 2 or 3 of each of what I consider the high and low points of shopping here: The High Points: - Value for Your Money: Costco is known for offering high-quality products at competitive prices. Members feel they get great value, which drives high customer loyalty and repeat business. - Wide Selection: Costco stocks a vast array of products, from groceries and electronics to furniture and clothing. This one-stop-shop convenience attracts a lot of shoppers who prefer to buy everything they need in one place. - Bulk Purchasing: Many people shop at Costco to buy in bulk, which can save money in the long run. This is particularly appealing for families or small businesses. BUY HARD 2: BUY HARDER The savings are bigger and more explosive than ever in this Costco sequel. Prior to October 2020, I'd set foot in the chain of wholesale stores only once (as someone's guest) and now I've returned half a dozen times. My wife and I will invariably see a "can't miss" deal like the 6ct of tiramisu in reusable glasses, but the basic necessities have remained the same; flat of diet Coke, case of LaCroix, paper towels, and a variety box of pâté for our wildly overprivileged cat Lana. The Naperville store layout is opposite that of the one in Bolingbrook--those that are used to entering on the left and moving clockwise could be thrown off (here, you enter on the right side and go CCW). Employees were kind, from the receipt checker at the exit to the person scanning our items at the register. Parking lot was free of hazards, thanks to expeditious shopping cart wranglers. Costco locations carry different hot items in their food court: some have cheeseburgers, chili, Caesar salad, and brisket sandwiches. This one serves pizza, the hot dog combo (footlong + 20oz drink for $1.50), and the kickass chicken bake ($2.99), a puff pasty filled with chicken, cheese and bacon. They also sell fruit smoothies, mocha freezes, and ice cream sundaes for under $3. Last time here, we bought a Vizio 5.1 surround sound system ($179). Other retailers like Target/Best Buy had this exact same model priced at $249, so being a Costco member saved us a fair amount of money. One of of the more notable 'big ticket' electronics from years' past was a 5-in-1 retro arcade cabinet for $399. New products rotate in periodically, so it's a good idea to check back often. Every once in a while, they'll put out opulent consumables like tiny jars of Ossetra caviar or king crab legs (welcome to Naperville, folks!) Our first trip here, they stocked magnificently marbled Japanese A5 wagyu beef @ $99/lb. Online, you can special order an entire wheel of authentic Parmigiano for a cool $1,000, though it tips the scales at a massive 72LBS. Say cheese! * TL;DR * With better deals on cooler stuff, it's no surprise that Naperville's Costco outperforms their Bolingbrook cousin. I'm still not totally convinced that our Executive membership is worth the additional cost (standard is $60/year, gold star is $120/year). Maybe our upgraded status will start to pay dividends once diapers enter the picture, but for the time being, we're more than content with making bimonthly trips here for groceries. read more

I don't have a membership, but come here with people who do and there is great fun to be had here. I was excited to try the acai bowl at the food court and it did not disappoint! It was fun to play air hockey and shuffleboard on the display tables. Some days, there are free food samples throughout the store. Costco has many good deals if you need 100lbs or 100 count of something. Costco, you do an excellent job in selling bulk products at a low price. You advertise to members other services such as car buying, vacations, windows HVAC and more at a discount or even a form of a rebate. In December I Attempted to use the HVAC offer. I first used the application on my phone and supplied the required information and waited and waited over a week. I then called the Costco number for HVAC services, spoke with a person and once again gave the required information. Once again, I waited and waited, no one called. Finally I called Youngren's a local HVAC business and they promptly came out for a quote and did an excellent job when hired to perform the installation. In January I called Costco corporate to voice my dissatisfaction with their offering a service (HVAC) that was unavailable to me. I was told I would receive a call back. I waited and waited, no callback from Costco corporate. Finally in June, I called corporate back only to find out they closed out my inquiry/complaint because I made a purchase from another vendor. Costco just closed the complaint without even contacting me. It would have made me feel like a valued customer had they called me back. Something went awry in what transpired with my attempt to purchase an HVAC system through Costco and it seems they couldn't care less. Before this happened, I was considering booking a vacation through their travel services. Now I lack the confidence and faith in booking through Costco based on this experience. Frenzy. Shoppers at this location seem to have some kind of shopping fever that can't be cured and will go to great lengths to drive recklessly in the parking lot while also weaving through waves of people and shopping carts inside. It's like this most every day of the week and time of day. I like Costco, the deals, and products, but the shopping experience at this location is a big hindrance. I went to self serve 2/11/24. I was standing in line and the attendant that should be directing members cleanly saw me. Another person walked up and the attendant then decided I was not positioned correct told me that person was next. Clearly both of these people saw i was there first. Costco should train this lady how to make decisions and move a line properly. This was around 5:30 it wasn't even that busy. I called to schedule an appointment and selected the option to talk to the optical department thinking there was no need to schedule an appointment directly with the eye doctor themselves. The woman who answered the phone sounded annoyed that I was calling, told me I selected the wrong option, and that she was transferring me over without giving me a chance to finish saying the reason I was calling or respond to her. Overall, the location seems relatively busy and the staff doesn't seem to be handling it well. Not sure if they need additional staff to help with the volume or clearer direction on their answering service that specifically directs people on where to schedule appointments rather than "select option one to talk to an independent optometrist..." Phone call was made 7/17/23 at 4:40pm in case management is reviewing this and wants to provide additional training/feedback to specific team members. read more

Ah Costco -- land of free samples, groceries in bulk, and insanely cheap prices. We've been coming to Costco for years and have never been disappointed. In fact, every time we walk in, we're always excited to see what new, surprising deal we might happen upon. Whether it be electronics, food, gas, clothes, or household items, Costco is definitely the place to check first. And pretty soon, this won't be the only Costco in Naperville--the second one opens on August 19th! No wonder why it was decided to have a second one...there's just so much demand for their products! I loved Costco until last Friday when we decided to buy 4 tires there. You can't call to ask questions. You can't book an appointment until you buy the tires. They said installation would take an hour. It was actually an hour and a half and only after I finally went to the customer service desk. The store manager got my keys and read me the service warranty info. How do you have 6 people at customer service and one at the tire center? I spent $800 dollars and really was disappointed. read more

I just bought four 42pounds cat litter and when I went to the self checkout cashier, I asked the lady , "you have scanner?" I knew the answer should be yes because I saw a portable scanner in your back pocket, then she talked back to me, " you don't ask your request ,or not even say hi or good afternoon,how do I know what you want." This review is for the food court. I am not a Costco member, so I cannot say anything about the rest of the store. The food court is literally one of the best deals you can find around town. A huge chicken bake stuffed with cheese, bacon, and chicken can be yours for just $2.99. A quarter-pound hotdog that comes with a drink and unlimited refills is just $1.50. If you buy both, you'll definitely be full. Not only are these cheap, they also taste great. The pizza slices are similarly priced, and you can get a huge pizza for just $10!! They also have great variety, and offer huge churros (just $1), sandwiches, chili, smoothies, and ice cream. This food court boggles my mind! How can there be such value? How? I am sad to say that I have only been to this Costco twice in my life. Someone should have brought me here sooner. Oh the humanity. But now my eyes have been opened. Pros: - buy in bulk and save in money... without sacrificing quality here - meat, vegetables, and fruit are always high quality - all of the spirits I have tried (wine, vodka, and tequila) with the Kirkland brand have been worth way more than their price tag** Cons: - **except the Kirkland craft beer, that stuff sucked - for some reason people enter the doors of this place and completely forget how to walk with a shopping cart. Idk if they're mesmerized by all the sweet deals or if they normally just don't care about the other humans around them, but wow. - I do not save money with a Costco membership.
