This Costco hits all the marks for a Costco, but the traffic going into/out of the area just screams for improvement.

After 8 years I finally went to Costco alone as it's always so overwhelming but now I don't mind. I like them more then BJ's. Found some yummy blue crab spread, tiger prawn shrimp is the best here, flank steak already seasoned, avocado during the summer is sooo cheap and u get tons, cheese section is great. I want to commend Jose and Teddy in TheTire Center. They were a great help time yesterday when I came limping in with a blown tire. Jose input all the info into the computer, but the printer jammed. He got Teddy to help him, but the 2 of them together couldn't get the printer to work properly. Jose had to go into the store to get a replacement printer. Teddy processed the other people who were waiting, while Jose was in his printer mission. These 2 guys worked together to keep everything & everyone moving. read more

I love Costco. I am a regular shopper and typically go once a month. I buy ALL my meat products there which are fresh and cheaper in bulk. I break up portions in Ziplock bags. I occasionally buy electronics. I bought a TV there as well. I also enjoy the produce. Highly recommend it if you have 4+ people in your family!! read more

I visited Costco in August. I've been a member for quite sometime but never visited the New Rochelle store. I'm not a avid customer and never had to return any items. When we entered Costco i asked where the bathrooms are located and our returns where placed in the cart. Security indicated where the bathrooms were and while walking towards that area we saw Bath Soap and placed 2 packages in our cart. I waited outside the bathrooms for my sister and her baby. In the meantime i asked a store clerk where should we return the items. We went towards the return area and noticed that the line we were on was not the line for the returns. I told the clerk that i had an item to return and the soaps in the cart where unpaid items. They asked me to move to the center of the aisle and of course i was blocking the exit way for carts etc. I began moving towards the right side with the cart to avoid any traffic and like a child i was told you must stay there in the middle and I mention that i'm blocking and just moving to the side. At this time I began to feel a certain way. A supervisor comes over and I mention about the return and the unpaid items. She yells over at the clerk that I first encountered and she said" These Items were not paid for" DUH DUH I just finished telling 2 people including her about that. AGAIN i repeated how I already had mentioned that and it was not necessary to yell it out as if I was STEALING!!! At that point she said that she will place the items to the side and we can retrieve them when we are done.... she turned, rolled her eyes and threw the items in another cart, when I say THREW I MEAN THREW. What kind of Supervisor is this? So now since she has yelled out to the others as a I sign to be careful with us... when we left, I showed my receipt but my sister's bag was inspected while other customer had bags and were not inspected. Innocently Accused! Racist! Unprofessional! I shared my story with my co-workers and they had unhappy experiences at this location. read more

I've been to the Costco in Queens, I tagged along with a friend and it was a good experience. I lived alone in a small apartment at the time, so buying in bulk never really appealed to me which is why I never bothered becoming a Costco member. I recently moved to the Bronx and got a new job in New Rochelle and decided it was a good time to buy a Costco membership. I came to this location was and was so disappointed! It is disorganized, some sections (like the bakery) are lacking in good products and some of the employees are so rude. I was standing in the self-checkout line when I heard an employee telling a customer that was having trouble checking out "you're not human. You're stupid, your brain doesn't function right. You can't be human." My mouth dropped. The poor customer probably never checked-out on his own before. It is an employee's job to assist a customer in need, not berate him because he may be technologically challenged. read more

It's tough for me to leave a review for this costco. On one hand, they are the rudest costco I've ever seen. On the other hand, I really like going to Costco and they have the cheapest gas in New York. Well New Rochelle in general has cheap gas, but I trust the Costco gasoline because it's top tier. This place is terrible in every way. I'd rather be in Walmart (and that's bad). Tried to get a quick tire plug. I left with a busted up trunk. Workers refused to take responsibility for damage and management was useless. My daughter's backpack was also searched as we left. The employees who work there look like rejects from hell. I don't understand how anyone can write a negative review about Costco. Compare to grocery stores the prices are great. The only problem is you need to have self control or else you will leave with 500 dollars worth of stuff. I also love that they opened a gas station there where the prices are about at least 20 cents less per gallon than everywhere else. read more

Im soo disappointed with this costco lately, cashiers are soooooo rude and unprofessional. My husband and i went today and was treated bad. I used my husband's membership card because i forgot mine but i used my credit card to pay which i have done a million times! Then this cashier named Shenka started saying you can use this you should use a debit card and i asked her "why? Is it a new policy" and she paid me No mind like she didnt hear me and just called another staff to check my membership together with my credit card and my husbands membership card without saying anything or asking my permission. I could have used my husband's card, no problem. But She just keep dancing(yes, dancing) while waiting while me and my husband are talking. Then when the other staff confimed my membership she just gave me my receipt and cards! She said no apologies or any explanation, aswell as the other staff!!!! Also the last time we went, we said hello and the moment we gave our membership card.the cashier said no checks, no foodstamps just debit card. Me and my husband were like "we've been using our credit cards ever since costco were in partnership with AMerican Exptess and we didnt have any problem. She was rude about it saying no you cant use it, in a rude way, looking at me from head to toe, assessing me if i am able and can pay for what we bought. She had no idea i earn way more than what she can earn in a year!!!!!!!(im sorry, didnt mean to brag but im so insulted) . And then i said why? And another staff have to come to tell her that she has a chase visa card that is okay. WHY is this happening New Rochelle Costco??!!! Ive been coming here since i was in college and i never had this problems before. I didnt want to report it because i didnt want to make a seen or embarrass people but its tooooooo much now. I love going to Costco and before I leave I like buying sundae in the food court. Today I was at New Rochelle Costco , I was on line for the right cashier and the lady opened her cash machine on the left. I told her my order and she turned her back thinking she will process my order, instead she end up chatting with another worker by the hot dog and came back to me and took my order again and before she made my order she chat again. If I only stayed on the right cashier I already been served past 2 people behind me in the line. Too bad I was looking and I don't think she's wearing her ID, or maybe hiding it. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this location. It is all on one level. The parking lot is pretty open so there isn't as much congestion as there is with some of the other locations in the area. Their selection of dry goods and frozen foods is quite good. I wish they had a couple more produce options, but the things that they did have looked good and at a decent price for the most part. I feel like this location has a lot of samples compared to other locations. I went at a time of day that wasn't very busy, so I'd be interested to see how the experience is during one of the busier times. Lastly, the staff was very pleasant to interact with especially those handing out samples. The registers were moving pretty quickly. All around a pretty good experience, not five stars at this time just because I feel like I was looking for a few produce items that they didn't have and ended up stopping at a supermarket on my way home. read more

Try the Photo dept- they are fantastic. Best prices on pictures. Had an old photo of my mother restored and colorized- was so happy with it- my mom has red hair, and he got just the right shade of red. Sebastian is very professional and kind - rarities these days. Other than that- its Costco so there are going to be lines, but they do move. Rule of thumb- dont do Costco on a Friday or at lunch time. I started frequenting the New Rochelle location when my friends told me it was less terrible than Yonkers. That was initially true but this location still has issues of its own. The bottle redeeming machines - there is always a long line for the plastic ones, which are frequently commandeered by someone with a huge sack of bottles from others' trash. There are usually a few people ahead of me with reasonable quantities of bottles like mine, but we are all held up by the one person with the unsightly and gargantuan sack of trash-picked bottles. The store itself is fine, besides people stopping suddenly and blocking the main aisles with their carts. And I was resigned to the long weekend lines until I experienced the Harlem Costco which has a much better system. Unlike New Rochelle, which is a free-for-all of inching incrementally closer to the register in one of many barely moving lines, Harlem has everyone roped into one line and then they send you over to the next available station. I would go to that one all the time if it were closer, and if the parking was free like at New Rochelle. This location offers the benefits of other Costcos in terms of cheap and plentiful goods, and it seems reasonably well staffed with helpful employees, but the parking lot and line situation is often such a nightmare on weekends (the only time I can go, due to working long hours during the week) that I often want to turn and run. read more
