Full disclosure: I don't like shopping. I'd rather give someone my card and let them shop for me. There are only a couple things that I like about Costco: they have some really good brownies in their bakery; I love their chicken bake; and...I can't think of anything else. This is the place to come to if you love filling up your house with lots of stuff. If you're getting household good then Costco might be a good place to visit, but before you can come in you need to become a member. After you agree to pay about $100 per year you'll then have access to stuff you can likely get elsewhere for about the same price or less. You'll also get access to Costco's electronic goods scam. Costco says that they'll match or beat any price for the same model that you see elsewhere, but Costco changes the model numbers on the electronics they sell. This of course means that you'll technically never find the exact model anywhere else and Costco won't have to match any prices. Really clever read more

I would never visit this Costco again. I come here every week as I've been a member for over 8 years. Today I was walking in the entrance with a crowd and no one showed their membership card. "Al" at the front door started walking to me with an attitude asking to see my membership card. I told him it's in my pocket. Meanwhile this is all happening while everyone else is walking in without showing their membership cards. He started to get rude and is telling me if I have a problem I can go speak to a manager. What kind of employee talks to their customers like that? Why was I profiled out of everyone else to show my card. Is that fair?? read more

My go place when I run out of things that I really need. I was so thrilled to know that they had my favorite starbucks coffee (pike place) k cups on sale 60 count. I bought two boxes I'm now in coffe heaven till next year. I tried to bypass the sweets section, but I gave in too quickly the cookies and cakes looks so darn good that I couldn't resist. Would not let me Access through exit even though that's the only way to the food court/bathroom. Had to go around. Very rude employee checking receipts. I understand it's crowded but expected better customer service from a worldwide membership club. Especially Costco. Think they need some employee training here. The receipt checkers who were working on 7/8/18 @ 2pm needs serious customer service training. Will not come back to this location for sure. Meh. I've been to at least 6-7 Costcos and consider myself a Costco expert, and in comparison to other ones, this one is not that great. Things are a little sloppier than other ones, and the way that they've set up the front end area with the cash registers is IMPOSSIBLE to navigate during peak times on the weekends - the bottlenecking situation up front is no joke, and lines will stretch down so far back, you'll be tempted to just leave your cart behind and go home. My tip is to avoid this place on the weekends. On the plus side, this place has a gas station, too, and the prices there are a good 25-30 cents cheaper than elsewhere, but the lines are OUT OF CONTROL. I'm talking like post-Hurricane-Sandy-we-have-no-gas-anywhere kind of out of control. I've tried weekends and weekdays and have left without getting any gas b/c I couldn't bear the thought of waiting that long, but maybe I need to try to get here on a random weekday at 11AM or something. Still, most Costcos in the NYC area don't have gas stations, so that's definitely a plus for this location. read more

1 star for the nice guy checking membership cards. I just got cursed out by a cart attendant for trying to get past him and his huge line of shopping carts he collected. I was on my way to get a membership and I yelled "sorry!" as I darted around the carts. he started yelling and F bombing at me so I said "hey! Im the customer here!". Decision made - NO membership for me, thanks. When I turned to leave he was still ranting and cursing at me. I like Costco in general but in this Costco staff is rude and the customers are trash. There are people walking in with 10 kids, family fights included where the parents are just slapping the kids in the register line. Horrible!!! Avoid!!! read more

This Costco is close to my house currently, but it is one of my least favorites to go to. I echo people's sentiments about it being dirtier than others and staff seemingly less friendly, but it also reflects the people and neighborhood it's in. People in the store seem to be ruder. They don't have some of the same things as Costco in Portchester, but it serves my needs, so I go. Just don't expect a concierge experience, and you will be fine. read more

During this time of Covid this location has been most prepared. They've immediately set up senior hours and have everything lined up for the smoothest shopping ever. Although the lines get ridiculous they make sure there is order. Once you get in various staff remind customers to socially distance, which makes me feel better since it seems some people have forgotten there's a pandemic. Despite the oodles of Hispanic illegals, Costco makes for a fine & cost effective shopping experience. Where else can you get 72 rolls of organic double-ply pleated extra-soft anal-sensitive perforated bath tissue for $3.99. Your sphincter will literally cry out with graciousness and elation when your pleasantly wipe away excess feces and everyday worries with this delightfulliy fragrant & inexpensive ass-cloth. The earlier you come the better lines are smaller. I seem to like this place more then BJ's. My hubby and and I decided to do a free 60 membership at BJ's and I have to say that I was not in the least impressed. Some of the workers didn't look like they wantedto be bothered and the lines were ridiculous. I will stay with Costco even though the lines her are long as well we always feel welcomes and they are always willing to help us and you can't beat their gas prices! read more

This is my go-to Costco. I live in Parkchester and this is within 15 min drive from where I live, without crossing any bridges or tolls. I love the fact it has a gas station right next to it, and it's usually, but not always, cheaper than other top tier gas stations like BP or Shell. Sometimes the gas price gets updated a week or so slower than other gas stations, but about 80% of the time, it offers a very competitive price. I come here primarily for fresh fruits and veggies. I can't always find them, but when I come in at opening, I usually get access to a fresh batch of everything. I've come here during the afternoon or towards closing and saw a whole bunch of moldy oranges, so I try not to come here except during the opening. I come here once or twice a week at opening, and most of the time, I can get in by 10 am or a bit earlier and get out by 10:10 am. Every now and then cashiers are not ready, so I have to wait additional 5-10 minutes twiddling my thumbs, but that only happens once every month or so. read more

I called the Concierge who called Samsung who came out TWICE and I am still having the same problem. I would like a new TV or my money back. Standard Costco selling all things Costco-sized. Came here on a weekday at noon, which is actually the best time to go. I heard after work on the weekdays and the weekends are the worst times to go. The lines are long and take forever. There were some samples around at noon and the layout has changed from what the bf said. I guess they're moving things around. To me, the warehouse looked smaller than the CA Costco's I've been to. The food court has the standard items, but what's new to me here is the Italian sausage ($2.79), served with peppers and onions (no drink included). It's darn good and we don't have that in the Bay Area. I miss my local Costco, but this location will have to do. read more

The worse costco I have been to. I went into this costco 15 mins before closing and they blocked off a lot of shopping asiles. I was only able to buy half of the stuff I needed because 5 mins before store closing I was kicked out of the costco. They need to have better customer service and let us stay in the costco until we are finish, not kicking us out. I am buying things from them so they shouldn't be kicking me out. Bought pre-packaged chicken parts for the 2nd time in 3 days.. BOTH packages stale!! Contacted the NYS Food and Agriculture Department to lodge complaint. This is the Costco that was summonsed for mouse droppings findings in their meat case. In late 2013, someone was robbed in the parking lot. It's a VERY DANGEROUS Costco!!! The New Rochelle Costco is one of the worst in America... from the clientele to the employees to the overall look/feel of the store. It's best to find another Costco elsewhere. I love Costco. When I moved to New Rochelle I was as pleased as punch when I realized this is 5 mins from my place. AND... AND they have a gas station too! YES. Few annoying things about Costco (in general not just the NR location): * Sometimes they will have an item, you get it you love it, the next time to you go they've stopped carrying it. Why? Noone knows. * You can't ever find someone to help you and when you do, they don't know what you are talking about. In general if you can, avoid weekends unless you go super early. As everyone knows and have already stated, bulk items such as water, juices, detergent, paper towels etc, you get it here. But I'm not sure if their Bakery Dept receives enough attention. They have a large selection of goodies from muffins to cakes to pastries and then some and they often have special deal prices to help you save a few $'s. read more

Had a very bad experience today with a rude worker at Costco. Never in my life was I treated this way in any store by anyone..customer or employee. My wife was stunned...she actually was the one who went to bat in my defense. I would like to remind Costco's management of something, especially the management of the New Rochelle location....you are running a membership organization. The people who walk in the door have paid an exorbitant membership fee just to walk in that door...these are not random people who just happen to see a random open door and remember that they needed a quart of milk. The members invested their money prior to entering that door. Costco needs to remember that the exorbitant membership fee should partially go toward training employees to see members as a valued part of the team...we are all working together...employees & members. This Costco employs the laziest employees in the entire country!!! Go here at your own risk. Tire Center is 2 Hour Wait Just to Ask a Question: If your thinking about getting snow tires here.... DONT! The guys at the register have no real process for looking up tires in the system. You will have to wait 2 hours at the register just to ask if they have your tires in stock. If they do, you will have to leave your car there for the whole rest of your day. Not really worth the small savings on tires if you lose a full day just to replace tires. Credit Card Center Ruined My Credit: Tried to get an American Express card and the lady entered my information wrong which forced me to close my American Express card... When I tried to reopen a new American Express card with the right info, I ended up being declined because of the first card that was opened. Rude Customers in Parking Lot: Most people who go to this Costco have no class and it shows in the parking lot. I literally got cut off after waiting 30 minutes for a spot to open up by a guy who had a 5 year old in the car. Love this Costco. A short drive from my house in the Bronx and ample parking. My go-to for household essentials like paper towels,toilet paper, water etc. I only go here if I arrive RIGHT at opening time on weekends or when I randomly have a day off during the week. Otherwise lines are unbearable. That's why a star is being knocked off. But when I come early I'm in and out. Helpful associates though they can be hard to find. I have been a member here for seven years, and the experience get worst and worst everytime I visit. I went to renew my membership a few months ago and the woman who processed my membership said ever think was OK. The next tome I went shopping my card was not working, had to go and rectify hour lost. This week the woman who is checking the receipts at the exit shouted at me after waiting for my wife. These employees have no regard for customers who incendently depends on us for there job. Don't talk about the samples they are giving. They think it is theirs working in a go slow manner and thinking it is like a privilege. It is a pity there is not a closer Costco around where I live. I spend a lot of time and money at Costco. I am a baker so there's nothing better than a store like Costco to buy flour (50 lb bags!), sugar (25 lb bags!), and chocolate chips (5 lb bags?). I also buy my meat, eggs, spafinder gift cards, and huge wheels of cheese here. The only things I generally don't buy at Costco are coffee (YUCK to Starbucks), milk (their non-dairy section is lacking), and baby items (BJs has a much better selection). I belong to both Costco and BJs because I do think they carry different products and cover different aspects of the wholesale game. If Costco carried better baby snacks, Pampers, and formula I would give up my BJs membership easily. read more

I have shop here for several years. Costco sometimes have some great variety of products, however, it may be temporary. Its price is an attraction though its product comes in bulk as a trade off. Cheapest toilet paper like Bill said in previous comment. Very crowded and closes on holidays though ranked number 3 for small appliances in Consumer Reports at the end of 2010. I find clothings really nice if its fits you; I had brought some that fit nicely. Costco recently started coming with organic products (beef, chicken, bread, eggs, vegetables, spices, cans, soup, so forth). This bring me stronger motivation to come here because I love cooking organic food and I usually need ingredients cheaper in price and bulkier. Overall, I love this place worth the membership and waiting on long lines. Everyone told me how I could get what I needed at Costco for a great price. After paying for my membership and getting my card, I went shopping, excited and hopeful to find what I needed in bulk and at a great price. Unfortunately, not one of the things I wanted was available or at a great price. I heard I could pick up a value pack of "Marks-a-Lot" markers... none. I wanted a paper shredder, but theirs was much more expensive than what I could get elsewhere. When you need to buy in bulk, this is the place for you. Something's are perfectly priced, and others are overpriced. Great place to shop for BBQ's. there return policy is excellent. The only thing I would change is make a few express lanes, like 8 items and less for those who only need a few things. Other than that.
