This Costco located in Pottstown has a gas station. This one is located next to the Philadelphia premium outlet mall. The stock is pretty much similar to any Costco. I called to check availability of electronics and staff is friendly to go over the details of the product and confirmed the availability. The prices are cheaper compared to other retailers for electronics. The seasonal items are great here. I have used Costco for purchase and also for gas during my visits to outlet mall. read more

This is the second time in three years where I have purchased a big ticket item and have had problems with their delivery and logistics team. I am reviewing this Costco in Pottstown because we use them and they are close. They lost the washing machine we ordered in May-June of 2022. This month i ordered a fire table and chairs for our deck and the delivery people did not know how to put it together and likely damaged the table base. They changed me anyway stating that the delivery was complete. The logistics person on Saturday promised a replacement by tomorrow, most likely to appease me. To my knowledge after calling customer service today and speaking to Yet another rep with an i don't care attitude, there is no eta for the remainder of the 7-piece outdoor set i ordered. This looks like a systematic issue and I don't plan to order from Costco ever again. I may return this item. read more

I went and tried to get liquid iv to sample it but they where very rude and where screaming about me needing a parent! I am most definitely old enough to not need an adult and she was screaming about it and she was screaming, "you need an adult!" Several time. Normally I would give Costco a better ratting... a 4 or 5... However, I recently purchased Prime boneless rib-eye. I paid 350.00 when choice was 250.00. When I got it home and cut the rib-eye's into steaks I found that at best it was choice but at no time was it even close to prime(very light/little marbling). I believe Costco is or was marking choice as prime. I paid an extra 100.00 for prime and received choice or very good select. What a disappointment in Costco and moving forward I will scrutinize their meats better. read more

This place is just TERRIBLE! I went there to get a computer that I saw on sale on their web page only to be told that it isn't on sale in the store. I asked to speak to a manager, got "clueless" Jolene who told me the same thing and went on to tell me that the online company is a "different" company. I asked her where it explains all of that and she said that she doesn't think it says it anywhere. So I again asked to purchase the computer to at the advertised price and she refused treating me like I was an idiot who was just supposed to know about their deceptive advertising. This is a review only of the optical department most specifically when you need to order contact lenses. The eye dr I love , I'm very happy with Dr Ojeda. I've ordered lenses on multiple occasions and NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE. It matters not, when I call as I have tried all different times. I have had to call 3 & 4 times to order it's absolutely ridiculous and the lenses you need are never ever in stock. .. they always have to be ordered. I have had times when I zeroed out to the front desk to get help etc and their rationale is "oh if the optical department is with customers they don't answer the phone." WHAT??? Seriously?? That's ridiculous. Recently I stopped in to see if my contacts were in and was completely ignored. Also ridiculous. I get that you're serving other customers but at least be polite enough to acknowledge me. read more

The snack bar is well worth the price of membership. You can't go wrong with the hot dog combo, pizza by the slice or whole pie!! The frozen yogurt with strawberries is a great way to finish ones meal!! Prices are very reasonable and the quality and quantity are present!! Wish they had Coke products instead of Pepsi. I am going to write this review to offset those negative review here complaining, first those negative about this Costco location is a joke, someone call themselves a vip customer having return issue, who are you calling yourself VIP? Every Costco member is treated the same. Someone else here complain about not saving much money recently? Have you heard of inflation? And more people complaining about bad customer service, I had nothing but good customer service, maybe it's the way you interact with the people. I had lives in the area before this Costco location opened, I had been member of Costco before this location was opened, so after they opened it was very convenient for me to go there because it's so close to where I live. The selection is great, customer service is great, it is clean and line moves quick, tire price and food price are good, never have any problem returning items. We love Costco but this one is bad! The Customer Service people are frequently very rude and not customer oriented at all. Also in the event you have a return, be prepared to be treated like a Criminal. This Costco does not follow the Corporate Policy of Hassle Free Returns and instead scrutinize every return sometimes involving managers like they are trying to make it such a hassle that you never want to bother returning anything in the future. They do not follow the Costco corporate policies and the management seems to make up their own rules depending on their mood. If you like to shop at Costco, do yourself a favor and fight the traffic and go to the King Of Prussia Costco where the Customer Service is SO much better and you are treated like you are valued as a Customer. I love Costco But what were they thinking putting the roasted chicken in a sealed plastic bag? I couldn't even eat it. Trying to get a greasey chicken out of the bag was hard enough. I had to cut the bag and the liquid spilled every place. I would pay more money for my delicious old packing, a tray. Please rethink this. We have been a loyal Costco member since 2009. However over the last several years Costco has not been loyal to us, especially in the customer satisfaction category. The most recent issue was with a return that they would not honor. we purchased a "lifetime" table that was defective and they said we had to go back to the manufacturer for help. That's not why we make our purchases at Costco. We are an executive member and expect the service they provide to cut the dealing with manufacturers. In addition over the last couple of years we have seen less of the products that we usually purchase available. in addition the last vacation package we purchased during covid was not appropriately credited after being cancelled. We have started shopping at BJs which we have found to be a better value. I could go on but we can only say that the lowering of standards since we joined is just unacceptable for us to be a member any longer. The Sanatoga PA manager, Alma showed no concern for a customer who has been loyal for such a long time. read more

My husband and I have had a Costco membership for about a year now so it's safe to say that we've been to several of their locations. A bunch in New Jersey, a few in Pennsylvania, but the Pottstown location is by far our favorite one. This location is always well stocked, the staff is pleasant and helpful, and they have a gas station! During the pandemic, I feel even more inclined to write a review because of just how impressed I am with their warehouse. They have made it of upmost importance to keep the warehouse clean and orderly, they are promoting social distancing, and they are taking all precautionary measurements that the CDC has recommended. They are requiring single file lines to allow people into the warehouse, and when you are allowed in, they are providing you with a cart that has been fully wiped down and cleaned right in front of you. They are wearing gloves and a mask while doing so of course. Although they have been running low on fresh meats, each Costco member is only able to purchase three at a time to make sure they can provide to as many people as possible. They have also been running low on cleaning supplies (such as Clorox Wipes) as many businesses are at this point. Some things to note as of 5/4: - Costco warehouses will open from 9am to 10am, Monday through Friday for members ages 60 and older, and for people with disabilities. - Priority access for Healthcare workers and first responders during all open hours. You will be asked to present a Costco membership and official identification of your role for entrance. - You are required to wear a mask that covers your face and nose at ALL times. I am/ was really shocked and appalled at the back pedaling that management is now instilling in their staff regarding returns. I can understand if a customer has been abusive with it etc, but, surely not in a case where a stellar record is involved with a lot of money spent, and a VIP customer as well. I say Backpedaling because when the account was initially opened, the very first thing inquired about was the Return policy, as it was a new venture, and I had never shopped there previously, although I heard great things. No one in customer offered any acute clarity, instead, the conversation was primarily based around Customer Satisfaction and that if ever I was dissatisfied with a product, simply return it at anytime. Excellent, you have my business. Again, no abuse of this privilege whatsoever. Recently I purchased a food item, and upon getting it home I realized it was cracked on the bottom. As it was late I planned on taking it back. In the meantime unplanned trips were made there to shop while out running other errands, and on one trip I purchased another of the exact food, albeit the original was still at home in my refrigerator, which I still had in mind to return, although I had forgotten about it several times. The one time I remembered about it before leaving home, I packed it up and visited the store. Immediately customer service started telling me they couldn't return it because the item was expired and that it was past its return date. This, I did not comprehend, as I was brought into this arrangement based upon Customer Satisfaction and here now when I went to implement what I was guaranteed I was being given feedback and a different story was being told now, even to the point of them saying it was in print on their signage. Sooo, this is how they were using reverse tactics to try and undo what THEY set in place with myself and I know there's been thousands or more customers they told this to as well, it's not an isolated incident. By saying one thing and having something written, they can invoke & revoke their original stated policy at will, simply saying "it's written right there in black and white", that's Fraud, and deceitfully misleading. The customer rep did get a manager and although he started talking that same thing about it being over the days allotted, I reminded him of what I was told, and they know that many others were told this as well, and about how I actually purchased a replacement prior to returning the original, due to me forgetting to bring it. I'm thankful he returned it, and I won't say he granted leniency based on initial conversations when I set the account up. Initially I opened a bj's and Costco simultaneously to see which I valued more and I kept Costco, but, for the first time inyears, I'm in consideration of removing the auto renewal feature and letting my membership expire. The ordeal has left a very bad taste with me, and I purchased a mattress from them, and guess what I was told the SAME EXACT THING, if for whatever reason I'm not satisfied at any time, Return It. This inconsistency is not good business, and for the very first time ever I'm truly disappointed., and No, I don't believe it was just a handful of employees who told customers that, it came from higher up because I heard this exact same thing come from other employees who worked on the floor as well. read more

I've been a loyal member of this Costco for over 10yrs. I have Never had a problem with anything. Every employee I've ever encountered has been more then accommodating & pleasant. I love their signature brand Kirkland. Aside from my usual bulk items I buy when I'm there, I've also bought major appliances (Fridge, Washer, & Dryer) that I love. I've even booked a trip to the Bahamas through Costco. I buy my car tires here too. Speaking of their tire shop, shot out to that crew. I had an evening appt to fix my tire that had something stuck in it. I showed up late and 30min before closing. I completely expected they would reschedule me. To my surprise, not only did they take me, they went above to give me the best customer service. And it was all covered under their superb tire warranty. I Costco! read more

They usually have what we need in stock and we always find a few things we didn't know we needed. In general I love Costco. I have been to many across the U.S. in my travels and they all understandably vary by region. However the Sanatoga Costco really runs super lean. By that I mean they carry half the variety of products that three neighboring Costcos carry within a 20 mile drive. I come to the point where I'm going to make the extra drive just so I have access to products that my local Costco won't carry for some reason. Not sure what management here is doing but it is a real letdown to it's customers. Store is nice, employees are great but the offerings are a disappointment m. If you barely want the Costco experience stop in here, if you want the real Costco experience try another location. read more

This is probably the best Costco, my friends and I have ever been in. The customer service is way over the top, not only they're helping us but becoming friends at the same time. Chrissy is hilarious - she was helping out the girls, giving them advice on rings, dresses and etc. They really bonded. We have been members since this location opened. Recently the only cost effective part of the membership is the gas, usually about $0.15 less per gallon than anywhere else. While you can get large quantities of meat and vegetables the price is not much different than any of the local grocery stores. Every once in awhile you will find a bargain, but not too often. When we first joined the cash back paid our membership for the next year. Our shopping habits have not changed, but the last three years the cash back has been about half of the membership. Toss in the poor customer service, it has really gone down hill the last few years, and you are paying a monthly membership just to save $2.00 per fill up on gas. Time to move on. read more

Everyone from the meat cutters, to the pharmacist to the managers are truly dedicated to treating each member like they are their most important member! My woman went into the store to get groceries for her grandmother who is older and cannot do much by herself. After getting groceries she went to check out but accidentally dropped her grandmothers credit card somewhere. My woman went to customer service to see if the card was turned in which it was. They asked for her ID and my woman said this is my grandmothers card not mine. The staff than accused my woman of doing fraudulent actions. My woman stated that she would call her grandmother so they could give the card back which they stated was fine than this blonde older worker pitched a fit and said no. Staff continued to harass my pregnant woman saying she was committing fraud and that the card and her grandmother were fake. My woman said this isn't true that she was getting groceries for her elderly grandmother. My woman walked away to use the restroom and this black hair woman followed her in and just stood there. My woman stayed in the restroom until this lady left. My woman went back to customer service and said she will just purchase the groceries herself and they denied her stating to leave the property before calling the police. Will be calling cooperate about this matter and the individuals who acted like a dumb ass. Staff wanted to act like they had authority when they have nothing but a minimum wage paying job. I am already in love with this brand new Costco that just opened. Here's why: 1. There's a gas station! I had a Costco with gas in California, but there wasn't a Costco out here with one....now there is! Gas was $3.15 today! (I think this must be a promotion, because that's a good 45 cents cheaper than all of the competition.) The attendants are very friendly, too. 2. Parking is really easy. If you've been to the Costco in KOP, it can be a real nightmare. 3. It's a big big big Costco. 'Nuff said. 4. So far, this isn't that crowded of a Costco. Maybe people haven't discovered it yet, or are unwilling to drive up to Pottstown? Fine by me. :) Although almost all of the employees are brand new to Costco in general, I didn't have any problems whatsoever. I'm swooning. I love this Costco! read more

The selection of foods and household goods is paired down to exactly what you need or want. There deals are exceptional (when they run their sales) and you can definitely scoop up some amazing finds. The service at the optical and photo departments is superior to any other store around. Alex at Photo is the nicest man I've ever dealt with. You definitely need to stop in and check out th seasonal foods they bring in (kosher items, Korean foods, and fall soups)!
