I shop at Costco for mostly items on sale. However, my favorite part of Costco is their food court. Nothing beats their poutine for the price they serve it for. read more

I love Costco! I get the gold member card every year because I end up making back the money I spend on it. Buying stuff in bulk is much more affordable when you live with so many roommates such as myself. Make sure when you go you make an EVENT out of it. It takes a while to find parking, you have to make sure you cover ALL ground so you don't forget anything. Maybe even plan to have dinner or lunch there, because who can resist hot dogs for $1.50? read more

this is for costco newbies.....if you are just a couple think it twice; I think for a family might be useful;Cannot really buy your regular groceries. Also, geez, black friday happens every weekend; I don't mean the bargains, I mean lots of people; I don't like to fight while shopping. I tried the membership, but not planning to renew it. read more

In terms of shopping experiences, the Richmond Costco is by far one of the best. I have been to many many different Costcos and this one in Richmond sticks out for its efficiency. Theres no waiting in lines backed up by the dozens, they serve gasoline here for awesome prices, the food court is always a pleasure to experience and I much prefer to do my all in one shopping here more than anywhere else read more

If you want to feel like you are back in the 70's at the evacuation of Saigon, then this is the place for you. I've had my children literally pushed out of the way while they are in line for a sample of sausage. As previous posters have advised, the parking lot is a no rules battle for survival. The staff are great though, courteous and helpful...and apparently unaffected by the madness around them. It's the only Costco within a 40 minute drive, so it's the best one in Richmond. The food is always hot and fresh at the restaurant due to high volume and low low prices. Oh yes, I ordered tires that were "in stock", only to find out that doesn't mean it is in the store, just in the tires company's warehouse. Allow 5 days for delivery, but if I want, I can drive to Kelowna to pick them up, only 5 hours away. read more

Horrible service at the tire centre. I ordered tires online, and called to make sure that they would work as I don't know about tires. When I arrived for my appointment I had to wait 15 mins as they tried to get the printer working. After that was sorted I went next door to do some shopping. I get a phone call from the tire centre telling me they will not install the tires. I stop my shopping and go back to the tire centre to sort it out. Now they say the tires are wrong and that they will not install them. I call KalTire and tell them all the specs of the tires and they say that there is no problem. So, I make an appointment with them for the weekend. I then talk to the manager Jason who after telling me that they could not do it actually checks the tires with me and realizes that they can install them after all. This has taken a lot of time, but I understood up to this point and went back to shopping after calling KalTire again to cancel the appointment I had just made. I had a spare on at the time I brought my truck in and asked that they just put it in the back of the truck. Instead I come back from shopping to find them going through the contents of my truck. I ask why they are doing this and I'm told to find the pieces to put the spare back under the truck, which oddly enough they never do. It took them over two hours for them to install the tires that were paid for and for which I had an appointment to install. When I get home and go to put the spare back under the truck I find that there are set screws missing from the pieces to put it back. I had used these tools under a week ago to put the spare on and am 100% sure they were there. So, they went through the contents of my truck to do something that I had asked them not to do, don't even do it, and lose parts from the tool needed to do it. I am very disappointed with the poor service at this tire centre. read more

I love Costco! I lived in the states for twenty years and got to know all the employees, I would even look for my favs on cash. The line ups moved fast, the selection is great, gas is great, samples are good ( if you are in to them), and returns are a dream! So why only one star you ask? Well, we moved to Vancouver and I had to start shopping at the Richmond Costco. I buy my Costco card every year when my membership is due, without fuss or hesitation. That's right you don't need a card to enter the store. What I didn't know was that at this Costco location you don't need one, all you have to do is stare blankly at the cahier and say " No English" and boom baby you can make your purchase. Not the end of the world I know, but when that person has 12 people shopping with them it is. All those 12 people will debate those chicken thighs to death before making the leap of putting them in the cart. Now, over and over again these people are shopping with no membership, just gift cards. Here I am the idiot paying for a membership so they get cheaper prices, until of course Costco has to raise the prices because the memberships are no longer coming in and once again the honest bunch will pay for them. I feel Costco is stealing from me and these people are shoplifting, they know they need a membership, but they do it over and over again. Costco you need to make it very clear, no membership no cookie or poutine. Check the picture on the card, there is one cashier at the Richmond store who nabs the people trying to use family or friends cards. I am a loyal Costco shopper, lord my account can prove it.............. so please be loyal to us, the paying members ( whos picture on the card matches the person making a purchase). You can't allow one group the privilege of shopping without a card and the other group has to show a card. I think there is a word for that. I look forward to this issue being solved as I want to stay a paying member. Please enforce the policy or equal shopping opportunity for everyone. read more

great selection! great prices! great return policy!

I almost hit by a shopping cart pushing by a woman. I have to push my husband to avoid the shopping cart by hitting me.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR PHARMACY!!!! The pharmacy at this Costco is so very busy that there is no customer service at all! First I was told it will take 1 1/2 hour to get my prescription filled. After hanging around the store for 1 1/2 hour and then I have to wait another 15 min at the pick up line to get my perscription and was informed that I did not have a perscription. I told them that it was dropped off 1 1/2 hour ago. Waiting at the counter, after another 15 min they finally located my perscription and I was informed the perscription can not be filled due to an error on the perscription. I was at the store for almost 2 hours for nothing when they could have just call me from the patient file that they have to inform me that the prescription can not be filled and I would have been on my way and not have to wait there!!! At any other pharmacy I would have been paged and notified. I will not be using the Costco pharmacy again. read more

Bought prescription glasses/contacts here for a few years. Last experience was a nightmare! Asian ladies who barely spoke a word of English fitted me for the last pair. I said I didn't want anti-reflection, as I cook. They told me I had no option, because the lens manufacturer is now in Quebec. Got progressive (as usual). When I went to try them on, I could only see upward and forward,.. if I had my head literally facing the ground, everything else was blurry. They sent them back. After another 2 weeks they were in, the progressive lenses were still bad, but I needed glasses so I foolishly kept them, as I needed a new pair. The lady fitting them spoke little or on English, and yelled out "you have mis shape head!". Nice! All my other glasses seemed to have fit..but I now have a "mis shape head"? And she had to announce that to the entire store? Needless to say ..I will NEVER go back to Costco for glasses!! Worst, most insulting customer service and quality I have ever seen!! Bar -none!!!! My recommendations? Pay double and get a decent pair of glasses elsewhere!!!! read more

I've visited Costcos in Canada, US, Taiwan. And this Richmond one is the only Costco I've been to that used to sell grilled Teriyaki Beef or Chicken rice plates at the food court. And the localization of the Richmond store for the mostly Far East Asian customers is great. Costco is all about price-performance, and when I can have a massive bag of like 50 ciabatta rolls for under $5 CDN which my Dad says is the ultimate in baked bread anywhere, well, what can I say but the top title for Costco has to go to this store. Yes, the Costco in HIllsboro, Oregon in the US has the world's largest interior square footage and no sales tax, but what's a costco trip without a food court visit? Richmond, BC used to win hands down. But as of Fall 2010, management at this Costco did away with the Teriyaki rice plates and they got rid of the 1/2 lbs burger + fries + pop combo too. Sad. It used to be the only 5 star Costco I rated. But now it's just like any other Costco. And unlike many US Costcos, no premium gas for the price of regular! read more

Lady working the till is so rude, her cashier name is Christine H. She shouldn't be working in customer service if she treats customers like how my boyfriend and I were treated today. We were at reg #3 at 830pm. Lol if anyone cares. read more

Not an easy place to obtain work...after sending in resume more than 6 times, even handed one in personally, and still not even a response. I still see new employees each time I go to shop. What exactly do they want in an employee? read more

The COSTCO prices are now getting out of hand. The walnuts, even the salads have jumped by $2 or more!! this is even more than the 10 cent difference in currency... also the eggs are now no longer with the bright red yolk even though you buy the expensive brown ones $8 for 18 ones!! someone please look into this or you will loose customers. The costco advantage was great, please do not diminish it, we bought blindly for a while knowing the quality and price were unmatched. Don't break that promise.... read more
