This place is a hit and miss. Some items are cheaper and some just doesn't make sense. If you run a business or a restaurant than maybe it will work out for you. Otherwise, it really depends on what you buy. Some items require you to buy in multiple of 2 or 3 or even a dozen. Not all items are in bulk or sold in multiples of many. I can find better prices elsewhere for most of the items here. I am guessing that is why the store is never busy. read more

I sometimes come here to buy plastic disposable gloves among other items for food prep. It's like a mini costco where it's basically a big warehouse and everything is on very large shelves. Unlike Costco, you DON'T have to buy a membership in order to buy stuff here. It's entirely optional. The membership includes perks like member only discounts though. Typical of warehouse stores, a lot of the items are packaged in bulk. For example, you can buy a 6 pack of giant condiment bottles instead of just one pack. Another thing is some discounts are only given if you buy multiples. For example, a bottle of sweet chili sauce goes for $4. But if you buy 4 or more, you get 50 cents off each bottle. All in all, this place is really good for people who buy in bulk. One small negative is that the price tags are hard to find. I came with old relatives who had to look very carefully for the price tags because they were jumbled up with other product price tags for other items that were nearby. Other times, you would have to stoop to the very bottom and peek under a not so see-through plastic lining partly covering the price tags. Also, some prices are more expensive than other grocery stores. I didn't buy a 12 pack of pop here because they were more expensive than other places. Came around 8pm and the checkout line was long. It stretched to the middle of the whole store. The line moved relatively fast and I got to the checkout lane 10-12 minutes later. They have a Walmart style checkout line where one giant line is for 4-5 checkout tills. As far as I know, there are no self checkout lines at this store. Staff here are pretty nice. I forgot an item and they let me run to get it and come back. They chatted about personal stuff with another staff member as they rang my stuff up though. Interestingly, even though Wholesale Club is a sister store of No Frills and Superstore, you CANNOT earn optimum points but you can redeem them here. At least that was what I was told by the cashier at the time. All in all, I would come back once in a while for the restaurant or food prep supplies which aren't really sold in other stores or buy items i need in bulk and get a small discount. 3 out of 5 stars. read more

Hi, I'm Jennifer W. and I'm a ketchup chip-aholic. You might think the sound of ketchup on chips sounds strange, but don't bag on it until you've tried it. Think ketchup meets vinegar on a chip - amazing! To feed my addiction, I purchased two boxes of 40 snack size bags at Real Canadian Wholesale Club to bring home. This store is the equivalent to a Smart and Final store back in the US. How did I take so many bags of chips home (un-crushed) you ask? Packed them in a giant suitcase that I checked in. Back to the store... it's pretty easy to navigate through, I was able to find the chips in a breeze. The cashier was friendly, though I got some non-Canadian change back. Oddly enough, it was US quarters and pennies. You may ask how addicted I am. Let's just say I have a relative visiting me soon, and they are going to Real Canadian Wholesale Club to get me and my siblings a box ;) read more

Looking to buy huge amounts of cheese? Hosin? Really weird looking frozen chicken? This is your place! If you're looking for candy for your wedding/event candy bar, this is one of the best places to buy it from - promise! Also, if you need mix (pop/juice) for your event/bar the prices are awesome for those items too. You don't need a card or anything, but i think you may be able to get some extra deals if you do sign up. read more

I didn't realise this place exited until last month! Where have I been? It's like Costco in many ways, but you don't need a membership to shop here. There is a wider selection of restauranty type products than Costco has. Do you need 50 bio degradable bowls and matching lids? This place has it! Tons of food at great prices. Drinks, candy, frozen foods, produce...the list goes on. Good parking and location. GREAT place to come before a party or event. read more

Great prices on a lot of items, and not necessarily bulk amounts which is nice for apartment dwellers like myself :) Really good prices on coconut milk, stocked up! This is Superstore - wholesale prices = cheaper and bulkier! Great place to shop for restaurant supplies or for big families and it beats Costco prices a lot of the time with a greater selection of items as well. There are real people around to help and they have very nice and hardworking employees who will assist with even little things. Great customer service, I love it! There is everything you could ask for here, from a large variety of produce, to frozen foods and dairy they have it all. There foods section is fresh since they have high demand and are constantly restocking although they do run out of things quite often so thats the only downfall. Located near south/central Burnaby a few blocks away from Metrotown. There is plenty of parking to go around. My favorite part? No coupon cutting necessary! read more

The Wholesale Club is one of several favourite shopping stops of ours on Kingsway. It's where we often head to replenish supplies of basic staples. But at the same time, we always look around to find 'values' in the fresh meat and other departments. Upon entering, we always head to the bread first, then branch out from there, checking the offerings of fresh meats, milk, cheese, and the like. And before heading to check-out, the various aisles of packaged and bottled products. We usually end up with having quite a decent load to carry to check out. We share our shopping amongst a good many stores - we like this one primarily for filling supplies of basic staples, and such. For fresh meat and produce though, we much-prefer the smaller, independent markets. edit to update - 13 Dec/14 A fun and most-enjoying shopping experience here after enjoying dim sum this morning. We had bought only bread, and headed to one of the "you haven't bought much, and can check out here" check-outs ... and what a delightful experience it was to check out! With noboby behind us, we, and the cashier became engaged in a most-delightful discussion of bread, dim sum. and etc. We left with big smiles on our faces. Heh, we had just stopped into a "big, impersonal place" to catch some bread .... and were treated to some very warm, friendly, and personal service .. wow, what a nice treat!! read more

Their products are usually great. I just think their customer service is lacking. First off they never ask for membership at the beginning of the purchase, we didn't know that we had to tell them our number first. When we told the woman, she told us we should have told her first and refused to scan all our things again so it can be charged on our card... All other stores ask for membership first... Second off, we had our wallet stolen here once, the wallet was worth $500 and there was cash inside worth another $500. The staff handled it so horribly. When we went up to the register we had realized the wallet was gone, the cashier told us that " there was someone earlier who had problems with all their credit cards....". I just wished they had at least stopped that person and asked a few questions... But anyway, they told us to check with the manager so we did, and they told us to come back within a week to see if anything turns up while they might check the security footage. So we come back a week later, the guy literally talks to us for 10 seconds saying "nothing turned up, and we don't have security footage in this store". Really. I mean it was mostly our fault for losing it, but I would have at least liked to see that they tried to find it or even cared.... horrible horrible experience.
