Today was the first time that I was a little disappointed with Costco. I made a special twenty two mile trip one way from my home in Gaffney, S.C. to their nearest location in Spartanburg, S.C. I made this journey with the hopes to buy two boxes of their Goolsby's sausage patties. There are 24 frozen patties in a box. I couldn't find them anywhere so I went to the Costco Membership Desk/ customer service center. They happily looked up my item and told me they had some two hundred and eighty some odd boxes in their massive backroom freezer. A C.S. guy (I don't like to name people in these circumstances as this isn't personal) offered to get them for me. He was gone about twenty minutes. When he returned he said my sausage patties were buried in the back of the freezer and I would have to come back tomorrow. I showed no emotion and just blankly stared at him. Normally Costco will move a mountain to please a customer and it surprised me when that didn't happen. This C.S. guy was trying to be helpful and he was pleasant and apologized and shook my hand. Gas is at near all time highs and I didn't appreciate making another forty four mile round trip tomorrow. I apologize to the Yelp World and Costco Land if I'm being too harsh. Every other of the hundreds of Costco visits have been nothing short of spectacular! I still love this place! read more

We much prefer Spartanburg's Costco, over Greenville because it's usually quite empty and there's plenty of parking. They have a decent selection of wine, huge bags of pet food, decent prices on coffee and yogurt, which are staples in our home. read more

It has been years since I've been in a Costco or even a member but after going to Sam's which is down the street decided to go see what the difference was, since it's been so long. They are standing at the door handing out Masks to those who don't have one. Still doing a count as people come and go. The store is pretty much layed out the same as sam's and looked really clean but the noticable difference was they sell smaller portions not everything is bulk. The prices were very competitive they had some items Sam's don't carry and vise versa. We decided to join they had a couple of options, the basic was $60 and a executive one for $120. I think since we don't live close by and we have a sam's best to get the basic for now. I did get myself a nice size jar of marinated mushrooms I haven't seen only in small jars most stores. I would have bought more but we were on a mission to finish getting last min Thanksgiving stuff and drive back home before it got too late. Over all time will tell which one Store I will like better Will head back after Thanksgiving to spend a bit more time walking around. read more

My experience in the tire shop was very disappointing. I brought my truck in for tire replacement on 2/24/2023 at 9:30 AM at the Costco in Spartanburg, SC. When I picked up the vehicle, they said that three of the tire sensors were not working with an "oh well" attitude. I told them that I have never had an issue with any sensor and they worked perfectly fine before they serviced them as part of the tire installation package. Sure enough, about 15 miles after leaving the store a warning light came on and the vehicle could no longer read pressure on three of the tires. Could one go bad in the three hours they had my vehicle? Highly unlikely, but possible. Could 3? That would be impossible. In trying to deal with the shop, they were really snarky and questioned that they were working, sarcastically saying "this is my question to you since you are my expert, another learning moment for me." I would not expect such an unprovoked lack of respect and professionalism from anyone in any sort of leadership capacity. As for the tires, I ended up purchasing a reprogramming tool on Amazon at my expense to reprogram the sensors as the shop should have done in the first place. Surprise, surprise, my supposedly broken sensors now work just fine. I've been a member for 20 years and have had nothing but positive experiences at other Costco stores. If this is what is tolerated by store management, I will take my business elsewhere and am strongly reconsidering my executive membership. There are more choices in the market. read more

I received an email from Costco promising a free Keurig coffee maker for completing a survey. I thought that was a pretty good deal so I did the survey. When that was complete they said I would receive my free Keurig coffee maker if I paid only $10.95 for shipping. They might have mentioned that at the beginning! Anyway, I still thought it wasn't a bad deal so I put in my credit card details and I got a message back saying 'Declined'. I tried numerous times. I called the credit card company but no transactions had been declined by them. I finally realized it was just a bait and switch scam. Not what I would expect from Costco. STORY TIME! This past weekend I had ordered some pizzas for pickup for my daughters 7th birthday. Upon entering the store I forgot my Costco card but I needed to get these pizzas. This is when me and my brother in law were met by Marta. She was checking receipts and sent us to customer service to see if we can get the pizzas. Upon reaching customer service Marta then yells so the entire store can hear. I SAID YOU NEED TO GO TO CUSTOMER SERVICE (as we were in customer service line). At this point Marta is out of line and is being very rude. So we get the temp card paper to get the pizzas(totally forgot about Marta). As we are at the kiosk to order pizzas here comes Marta AGAIN speaking to the manager in a loud tone saying," I told these two guys to go to customer service". She made it a point to leave where she was checking receipts to come all the way over to where we were to tell a manager. Now I'm upset. The manager approaches us and says hey do you have a Costco card. So I show him the paper that has my member ID on it. This experience at this store was the most embarrassing thing I had to deal with. I had not been racially profiled since I have been here and my brother in law says damn now I see what you have to go through. Costco needs to work on training people to be respectful and to have a better attitude. You lost a customer and I will be spreading the word about this store. It's unacceptable. The thing about Costco is you know you're getting a great product. Most stores sell multiple competitor items at ranging cost and you don't really know if you're getting the best for the price. Costco takes that process out for you and always has the best item at the best price. I purchase awesome Spring Mix produce ($2 cheaper than other store) and cheese from England here! The employees are friendly, the store is clean, the samples are flowing, the place feels organized even though its huge! My favorite purchase was our memory foam queen mattress. It was under $500 and the absolute best mattress I've ever slept on. It fully foam and came in a small box to my door. Don't forget to pick up the $1.50 footlong hotdog with a drink combo, what a deal! read more

Service at the counter was slow. The pizza was greasy. The card checker was a bit grouchy, however....this recliner that they have is so comfortable. It's a BarcaLounger Presley leather recliner with power head test. I could easily drift off to sleep in it. $599 isn't a bad price. read more

We live the same distance from the Costco in Spartanburg and the one in Greenville. Greenville is horrendous while the Spartanburg one is always well stocked and clean. They carry products that the greenville location does not carry. I have been a member of Sam's Club, Costco and BJ's Wholesale Club in various states where we have lived and have always liked and preferred Costco as their Kirkland product line is the best. read more

I had an amazing shopping experience until the very end where I met Cherie at the door to check my items. I was asked to go into a self checkout scanner because believe it or not I didn't have as many items as other people. So therefore I did and the lady at self checkout was kind and helped me out with all of my items. 27 items later we headed to the exit. Cherie first yelled at a gentlemen who was walking into apply for a card saying he went the wrong way. How the heck was he supposed to know and why did Cherie have to be so abrasive. And he had to tell her twice that he was going to get a card. So here I am finally getting checked. And at the end she had the audacity to hold my receipt away from me and lecture me that I was not supposed to use self checkout even though I was asked to and that it's an inconvenience for them to look thru all of my items. I honestly am not a fan of this location, first time and last time. She ruined my whole experience and was straight up rude and unprofessional to not only me but my spouse and other customers. This is the worst cosco . Customer service is a joke. They take your money for an order then never fill it. Dont call to cancel your appointment or let you know your order did not come in. Then when you show up they forget to inform you your order did not come in. let you shop for over an hour before letting you know they can't do the work today. I heart Spartanburg Costco. While everyone else is at THE Walmart or THE Sam's Club. I am loving life at Costco. Flashback to Issaquah and Federal Way, Washington locations of the super store. It pains you to think of going here on the weekend, so you devise a strategy. Get up early, get out of there before lunch, try not to lose it on long lines or unattended children who think the tastings are their own personal buffets. Gross. Present: It is Sunday. You and five other customers are strolling through the books; pouring over the clothes; trying to figure out where you can put a cabana, fountain, nine piece outdoor dining set, blowup pool, and pineapple free standing gas lamp on your deck. You start to think you are hallucinating and start laughing. Out loud. Embarrassed when other customer in same section looks at you. You just continue to smile. All the way to the one-manned check-out line. A note to Costco- please do not close your store! You built it, the people will come! I promise to get all my pictures processed, buy bread and meat , get the big man's eye glasses, buy gas, and eat your perfect polish and soda combination religiously. If you leave I will cut you. Good caustic experience, but when is it not. The store was clean and the shelves were stocked. The rotisseries chickens are what to be expected from a Costco (plump, hot and fresh). Costco is usually very good in terms of its ancillary services such as glasses, hearing aids, etc. but my rating today reflects the incompetent and unprofessional service we received today when we attempted to buy 2 new replacement phones. After an hour and a half we had one correct phone and some special order 2nd phone. I had to go to return an incorrect SE and then wait in line to purchase the one that should have been requested. Then I go back to phone kiosk to wait for correct phone and a manager shows up with a box that she described as a special order SE. So I was told I could go ahead with 11 and they would order SE. At that point I had had enough. So I had to go to 2 places to get refunds. read more

I'm so upset Covid is still going on and I am doing the shopping for my older mom with cancer who is obviously high risk and I offered to FaceTime my mom to verify to check out but they were not working with me at all, my mom is a executive member and pays a lot to shop here. CDC still has not lifted Covid so I feel like it should have not been a problem for me to checkout the very few items I was checking out! During this whole pandemic it has not been a problem because I have been in charge of getting groceries, but we are still in a pandemic I have had my vaccine but I still chose to wear my mask same as the manager that tried to handle the situation. I shopped at this Costco for a while but when I was harassed by a female employee who followed me through the store telling me to pull my mask over my nose even when I was getting milk and eggs she was in the cooler and said "pull your mask up over your nose" that did it for me when I complained to the manager I was told she's doing her job and she one of my best employees. read more

This is a great Costco! It's big, clean, and shiny new! Cheapest gas in town too! They need to put a sign by the Westgate Mall entrance, because I wouldn't have noticed it had I not drove passed it on the highway. It was a ghost town in there, which I must admit is a nice change. I don't know where Costco hire their employees from, but this particular store have Optical associates/techinicians who are heaven sent. My boyfriend & I flew in to Atlanta & waiting for our flight to Charlotte. He forgot his contact lenses & needed some badly. Our final destination was Asheville, North Carolina & had to look up the closest Costco. I found this one & called to get their fax number. A very kind voice answered the phone. Her name is Denise. She checked if they have the particular prescription & indeed, 2 boxes left. My boyfriend called his dr in CA & had the prescription faxed. I couldn't make it to their store the following day, so I called & spoke with Denise again & kindly asked her if she could fax the RX to a Walmart in Asheville. She didn't hesitate at all. Unfortunately, Walmart would take a week to get the prescription filled. And yes, I called Denise again. I didn't even have to say anything after she heard my voice & had the 2 boxes ready for pick-up on our way to Savannah, Georgia. Denise has a heart of an angel & a priceless gem. It's been 3 months since we met her in Sept & simply couldn't forget the incredible service we received from her. Sorry if I took this long to write this review. Not only are they not crowded, the staff is as courteous and professional as I remember the Costcos out West being. Seriously, if you're fed up wiith the bizarre folks who staff the NC Raleigh/Durham/Winston-Salem Costcos, it may be worth the occasional long trip out that way, just for the break. read more
