The mall itself is largely unchanged outside and in with the exception of closed stores. Upon entry at foodcourt you can look up the second floor and see the theatre no longer operates. There was one visible closed off entry inside to detached store I think was sporting goods before but no others. There is Belk, Dillards, JC Penny's and distinctly remember a dedicated Pandora store. In the old Sears building is now Rural King, farm equipment. There is a Costco not part of the mall but built very near behind. I wasn't sure what to expect walking inside, but to my pleasant surprise it seems to be a surviving mall for now. Come to this location for some centralized shopping and keep our malls going.

This was a nice walk and shop as it was a little too cold out to do an outdoor outlet mall. Indoors, walking through Dillard's and others was pleasant though the prices are definitely not low. We used the Dillard's entrance as it's always nice to set your expectations high when you enter a shopping mall. Once past that wallet drain, the mall is in good shape and well lit. Yes, at times customers are greater in number than cashiers...that is a universal problem. However I have found the staff friendlier than most stores. Courtesy on the part of a customer can make a big difference in a store clerks reaction, even when they just had a bad experience with previous customers. As far as the available merchandise, it's one of the best Marshalls stores I've visited. I no longer live in Spartanburg, so I'm shopping other locations. Several have far less than than this location. So when I visit Spartanburg and have time, I will make a stop at Marshall's. It is the thrill of the hunt, and I'm not often disappointed.

Then to add to the frustration, the registry listed a special sale offering 20% off with the special code for the "in store only" items I wanted. A nice young sales girl didn't know how to apply the offer, so she called for a supervisor. Oh bless her and me for not causing a big scene. The supervisor had no idea how to use the app, website, or much less how to handle the special offer! She spoke to me in a very demeaning & condescending tone saying, "oh you'll have to go to customer service." - while she shuffled things around and tried to read my phone screen and had me click on things. I would have gladly gone to customer service if she'd stopped telling me she couldn't do it and stopped sounding like it was my fault she didn't know about an offer her employer offered. Today was the first time that I was a little disappointed with Costco. I made this journey with the hopes to buy two boxes of their Goolsby's sausage patties. There are 24 frozen patties in a box. I couldn't find them anywhere so I went to the Costco Membership Desk/ customer service center. They happily looked up my item and told me they had some two hundred and eighty some odd boxes in their massive backroom freezer. A C.S. guy (I don't like to name people in these circumstances as this isn't personal) offered to get them for me. He was gone about twenty minutes. When he returned he said my sausage patties were buried in the back of the freezer and I would have to come back tomorrow. I showed no emotion and just blankly stared at him. Normally Costco will move a mountain to please a customer and it surprised me when that didn't happen. This C.S. guy was trying to be helpful and he was pleasant and apologized and shook my hand. Gas is at near all time highs and I didn't appreciate making another forty four mile round trip tomorrow. I apologize to the Yelp World and Costco Land if I'm being too harsh. Every other of the hundreds of Costco visits have been nothing short of spectacular! I still love this place!
