It's been years and years since I have been. I thought it was only fo large families and businesses. I was so completely wrong! They have everything our household needs and a few things we didn't know we needed. The seasonal offerings are fantastic and the time to buy it is when you see it. Staples like the refrigerated dog food, produce and rotisserie chicken are nice to count on. The sample game is real and you'll end up with whatever they are slinging in yout cart. The food court is pure chaos and there is no to how many customers are allowed in the store at the sam time. If you are a weekend shopper, be brave! read more

As another reviewer stated, employees are nice. However, when forking out nearly $2K for 5 tires, more than "nice' is expected. They chipped the lacquer on all five of my wheels with whatever they used to remove the previous balance weights. The sorriness is sickening. Had high hopes for this store as the previous Costco tire job from the Westminster, CO store resulted with several wheels being torqued far above the spec, with one being nearly double. How do they do that if they "torque all lug nuts by hand?" Is there anyone on the planet that gives a .... anymore? Edit: Original Review assumed (fifth one was not mounted at time of original review) that the fifth tire (spare) would have chipped lacquer like the first 4. My assumption was correct. Anyway, the point for returning to edit this review: After having the spare mounted, I went into the store to pick up two items. I headed to the "self-checkout" and, once I was next to go to a register, one of the two "ladies" attending the "self-checkout" told me I had to have her "pre-scan" the items. Once she had told me that they now don't allow items to be scanned at the register, and, once I had conveyed to her what BS Costco "Executive Membership" has become, and, once she had scanned my two items, I was directed to proceed to a register. When walking up to the machine I was greeted with the usual "scan your membership card" and was told also to "scan your items." Of course my transaction now had four items, which caused me to waste more of my time summoning one of the, now three, "self checkout" attendants. To top it off, the receipt checker (one of the several there...you know...to catch criminals) asked me how my day is going. I told her "great before I came here." PS H**l no! I don't want any da** windows...or ANYTHING from the trash cellular "provider" called A*&*. read more

The workers at this Costco are very nice. We just moved into the neighborhood and decided to give this Costco a shot. I am not sure if this is for Costco's as a whole or just this store (we usually go to Sam's club coming from downtown Denver)...However, the app and the store do not have locations for items . I don't like aimlessly wandering throughout grocery warehouse stores and want to get straight to the point when I go grocery shopping for myself and my family. We spent an hour here trying to find items on our grocery list before giving up. Also, Costco is quite limited with the cards that they accept and they don't have scan and go, which led to really long wait lines at this location. I suppose I'll give it another try (since we signed up for a year membership, but we ended up driving to a nearby Sam's club to get everything else that we needed). read more

It was my first time to this Costco over near Brighton, and I'm glad I came! First off, it's in a nice large area, next to the interstate and close to Boulder. The store is quite large, and has a lot of items not found at the Superior location. There's tools, pet items, and clothing you wouldn't see at a smaller store. The staff was friendly and actually handing out some (packaged) samples! Overall, a great place to grab some groceries at a good deal. read more

This COSTCO is great. I somehow always find parking, which may be a fluke, but it happens for me. Sometimes COSTCO peeps can be grumpy. I have had nothing but good experiences with the employees here. They are all super friendly and happy to help you. What makes this COSTCO stand out more than others I have been to? They have a liquor store. This includes wonderfully discounted wines! You can get Whispering Angel for 19.99 - typically a 29.99 bottle! They also have great deals on liquor. Every Sunday I head down to Costco to buy myself the next weeks worth of groceries. I can proudly call myself a member of the Costco community. Samples becoming unavailable was arguably the worst thing that came out of Covid-19. Not even my husband leave me as satisfied as the samples from Costco do. When I saw on twitter the return of samples I was beyond excited. So this last Sunday I made sure to fast for two whole days ahead of time so I could enjoy Costco samples to the fullest extent. After about 15 minutes of strolling through the isles I discovered a very tasty brand of yogurt. As soon as I finished my sample I knew I just HAD to have more. I went back and said I was grabbing one for my "friend". Then I went back again and this time I said it was for my "child" After about five minutes of this the employee turned me away, and said that I needed to have them with me. Now if it ended there maybe I would be putting two stars but it just got WORSE. I was raised in a household full of Pomeranians so I know a thing or two regarding establishing dominance. This girl doesn't back down that easy. So I waited in the next isle for upwards of about 37 minutes for the old Hags shift to end. When that did happen I marched right back and DEMANDED a sample of yogurt. And sure enough it worked After revealing my identity I had to use the "getting it for someone else trick" to get the next couple samples. Eventually this employee refused to give me anymore. But this time I wasn't about to allow myself to be walked on. So I camped nearby and waited until her attention was directed at something unrelated and I went for it I grabbed as many samples as I could and started sprinting towards my car. I'm not sure how many I picked up in the heat of the moment but it was enough to drip on the floor and cause me to SLIP. Instead of being helped up and given some yogurt I was escorted out by the assistant manager. Maybe I was in the wrong for the yogurt but I am DISGUSTED by Costcos accident protocol. Also if I'm not mistaken the samples are FREE so under no circumstances was I doing anything wrong. The employees who work here are very bad at what they do. I do genuinely hope none of them live in a neighbourhood with children. I will be taking my business elsewhere. (I cannot remember the name of the yogurt brand. I like this place, Costco is like my way of adulting while buying in bulk. It's fun to people watch here and plus I feel like I see a lot of upper middle class people here wearing Patagonia vests and their children are crawling on the floor. I like finding new snacks. Hello there this is my opinion of Costco. So we have been Sams club members for a number of years and have always wanted to have both so with this current situation I decided what a better time to join Costco so that way if Sams is out of something we can turn to Costco and its closer to where we live so the expense of driving to our normal store would justify the purchase we opted for the executive membership in order to recieve the better " benefits" as Sams offers. So im going to tell you what we learned after we signed up, which I will tell you now, we opted to retract our membership after our first and only visit to Costco. Upon getting our membership cards we were asked if we would like to apply for a Costco Visa and if approved we would recieve a $100 Costco gift card , I asked if it was a hard credit check as we in the process of buying or looking to buy a house and we are stayng away from credit inquiries and the representative stated its a very soft inquiry so i said ok, unfortunately by the time we got home I started getting notifications that my credit was being ran so I was not happy with that which left a bad taste in my mouth. On to our shopping experience as we went thru the isles we noticed the similarites of the 2 " big box " stores same products just different brands. As my wife was filling the cart with things we noticed that prices we within a few cents of the competition and some things were a dollar or 2 more expensive or cheaper, the reason I know this is I had my Sams app open so we could compare pricing. The next thing that is a negative is Costco does not provide a " scan as you go", where at Sams you can scan stuff in your cart and pay on your phone when you are done and avoid waiting in line to pay. So when we were ready to pay for our items we looked for the self checkout to pay for our items we noticed that there were none and you had to go thru a checkout line which i guess som ppl are ok with because they do put your items in a box and you dont have to box your own items, but heres the kicker that caused us to really rethink our decision , which is they only accept Visa and do not take Mastercard and I dont know if they accept anything else. We do have both but we asked why they dont take MC and they offerd it helps keep thier prices so low.?? So one last thing for you to be aware of when you pay for the upgraded membership at Sams club like the executive you are given the benefit of VIP shopping hours which you can shop from 7 a.m. before the normal business hours start so you can avoid the crowds and the lines as with Costco you dont get this benefit the only thing you do get with the executive membership is 2% cashback which I think you might even get 3% back at Sams. So it is your choice of course but in my opinion Sams is the way to go but one thing I will offer is this , before you make your decision ask to browse each one and checkout the prices of things you will be purchasing and see what works for you. read more

I really didn't want to write this review, because I LIKE Costco and I think the quality and value they provide me are terrific. But this particular Costco has problems. If you look back in the review history, about a year ago people were calling this the mean Costco. Those reviews died down for a while but I guess they haven't eliminated the problem entirely because over the last 6 months I've had 3 encounters with incredibly rude staff. One encounter was outright hostile. So no more Thornton Costco for me. I still love the company. But happily Costco has opened a new store in Longmont so I'll go spend my money there instead of at the mean Costco. read more

This Costco has a tire department that gave me great service. I needed a flat repair during an incoming blizzard. In fact I believe it was a historic storm where the temperatures were going down 50 degrees in a couple hours. I had high winds, tumbleweeds blowing all over the roads, and snow blowing sideways on the way to their store. They were able to fit me in and did a great job fixing my tire. Needless to say I was very happy with the service. They were professional and friendly. I had a safe car to return home in a whiteout. I also recently noticed their self service lanes were moving quickly in the grocery area on a crowded Super Bowl Sunday. read more

This is the mean Costco. My coworkers and neighbors have literally nicknamed this the mean Costco. It's the only one I've encountered with bad customer service. Over the summer I bought two Bose speakers. I ended up returning them because they wouldn't hold a charge. I waited in line on a week day morning, for over 30 minutes to return these two items. The kid running the service desk helped me when it was my turn. He said the charging port outlet that were in the box needed to be included in the box to return it as well. I showed him on the box it came with charging cables, but no outlet port. He argued with me and told me to come back when I found them. I showed him again it didn't included the attachment to plug in to charge. He still didn't listen to me and started helping the next customer in line. I found a manager to complain too, the manager said they would fix it and complete the return. But I had to wait in line again, for another 20 minutes to return the item. Then had to wait again for the manager to get to the service desk. In July I bought a pallet of their garage workbench/organization furniture. I went to self checkout, the attendant said I could pay for it there, then pull around to receiving and they would load it in my truck. After paying I went to receiving and they said they were out of the item. They were not, there were several pallets of the product on the floor. I discussed it with them, I said I could show them. They said I can't walk back through receiving to show them. They were sure they were out. I sis d fine, just return my money at this point. I had to return to customer service, wait in line to get my refund. Then, when I got the front of the line they told me they couldn't return my purchase because I didn't have the product! It was $1200! I told them I didn't have the product because they didn't give it to me, they claimed they were out. I had to wait an additional 15 minutes and they had to get an executive over to override the return. Holy hell, what a ridiculous experience. I look forward to Longmont Costco opening so I no longer have to go to the Mean Thornton Costco! Until then I'm spending money at the Thornton Sams Club! read more

Tuesday April 28th 2009 : My love for this location of Costco at First Sight! Like a kid in a candy store, jumping with joy and wide eyes open with all the goods in this Costco. Ooohh, I want this, I want that... Heehee! Why cant Costco all across Colorado, I mean the one close to my house be like this one? They tend to have more variety in certain things or is it because this Costco is new in this part of the town... From books, clothes, snacks, produce etc etc that I can shop to my hearts desire. Besides usually the best time to go to Costco is during a weekday, and you can share your purchase with your friend which I did today. Plenty of food/drink samples are provided while we were here. This I like, at least, I can try it out before deciding to purchase that certain frozen food dinners or beverage if I like it. Oh well, at least I am glad to show my friend around this Costco, who happens to live in Brighton and this location is closest to her house. Cant wait to return, provided Hubs agree to it, despite the fact we are living in another part of the town, city etc etc... Pretty typical Costco for shopping. However their line for self checkout takes forever and there are not enough people to help you scan heavy items. Also do not order food to eat or go if you want to eat quickly. They always take forever, are very disorganized, and the eating area is always a mess. read more

I have been coming to this Costco with my family ever since I was a little kid. I went from scouring the books for hours while my family shopped for food, to being the one that was shopping for the food. This Costco includes everything you could imagine, a true one stop shop. If you need to see a pharmacist, they got one. If you need to schedule an eye exam, they have optometrist. Need to fix a flat on your car? They have a tire center. Where else will you find a store that offers all of these amenities? Of course you can't forget to mention the food court. While the pizza may taste like it was sitting under a heat lamp all day long, it's nice to be able to enjoy the below average pizza while shopping. The prices are very fair, and if you are shopping for a family, buying in bulk is the way to go. We always get bulk snacks, as we fly through snacks at home. It's also my go to place to buy gum in bulk, as it's cheaper than going through a bunch of mini packs. The samples are also a nice bonus as you browse down each isle. The only issue, which is one they can't control, is how immensely busy it is. We had gone on a weekday at 2 and it was nearly impossible to find a place to park. read more

I really appreciate all stores and their staff for keeping stores functional. So what if you don't get a few of the merchandises you ordered or wanted to pick from store, you should be thankful to the stores enable your home functional with supplies. The Costco in Thornton is a large Costco and really the only one I shop at, because the others are a bit out of the way. I am not going to not shop here, but I do believe a few things could be improved. The produce - I don't buy a lot here - well at least not anymore because it never fails that in a bag of whatever there is at least one spoiled soggy fruit or veggies and this is when I buy it not a week after. The checkout lanes - I get they are busy on the weekends, but some form of line recognition may help the anger of customers who think they are in a line or specific line from being cutoff or skipped because they are just stuck in a dead zone trying to make room for others - politeness doesn't pay in the checkout lane. Samples - a favorite of everyone one - myself included. I would never suggest not having them, but I would possibly suggest better placement one at each end of a single isle makes getting in and out of said isle impossible even without a cart. The carts - I get the big flats for big purchases, but maybe those should only be available once you have a need and not to wheel a family around with little legs and arms hanging off - not really a store issue but an issue. read more

I normally love Costco. Today was very busy and there were only 3 check stands open. They were encouraging you to use the self checkout. Therein lies the three star rating. You have to unload your cart, scan and then place on the tray. You have to complete your order before removing anything from the tray. When you're done reload it all back in your cart. At Sams Club they have a handheld scanner for you to scan items in your cart. I'm almost 75 and this process seems so unnecessary. I won't be doing self checkout again. I'll wait in the long line. You could at least open more checkout lines with cashiers when it's busy. read more

Love this location! Always sooo clean, nice employees and well-stocked! I would recommend having a few more registers open for checkout, but I understand waves of people come and go! Beware: Costco technician installed 4 new tires on my vehicle that resulted in gouges and scratches on all my factory black rims After reporting this to the service supervisor he said that he knew what had caused it in their process and would help me file a claim. But he did not. I felt suspicious and the next day I went in to talk with GM and explained what happened. After that, GM gave a claim paperwork to fill out. Today a lady from the claim department has declared that she denied my claim in spite of their fault. She was rude. Then, I argued with her that all the scratches on four wheels caused by placing tire machine's duck head not properly on the edge of my rims. It was not intentional, but it was negligence, nonetheless. I patiently waited over a couple week for the claim to be processed for this shameful declaration by Costco to a long-time customer and customer service was so rude. read more

If you can justify buying in bulk, this is the place to shop. Prices, selection and the staff are great. And you're not supporting the Walton empire! Love this Costco. Have been coming here for 10 years. The people working at the checkout lines have always left me feeling that they are genuinely friendly. The cheese pizza is bomb! The $1.65 Very Berry Sunday is huge, creamy and oh so good! I do not recommend the New $4.99 Acai Bowl because the portion of the Acai ice cream is a dab. It's tiny but you get some granola with dried banana, chopped strawberries and blueberries. read more

Recently, my husband and I got new glasses at Costco. They were relatively inexpensive. We thought "great!" Big mistake. We both hate our new glasses. Lenses aren't particularly good; frames are awful! They don't help at all with choosing frames and mine don't fit correctly, they're too narrow for my face. I liked the look but they not only don't fit, they tried to adjust them and I was convinced the metal was going to break. They're so bad I went back to my old glasses for now. My husband hates his as well. They're cheaper but now we both have to find new ones. read more

Costco is the best, I got a membership at this location recently and I already know it is going to be worth the money. You get products in bulk for a cheaper price than other grocery stores. Meaning king soopers might charge you $12 for 12 cans of soup, but Costco might charge you $10 for 14 cans! Not sure if those prices are exact but my point is that you will save lots of money doing your grocery shopping at Costco. read more

I love all the Costco stores but after listening to my grandmother tell me she only gets groceries when Miss Vickie her favorite cashier is working I was thrilled as my grandmother is struggling with dementia and still trying to be independent. Its so reassuring to know Costco hires employees that actually care about their customers enough that Miss Vickie takes all the time necessary for my grandmother to complete her purchase at the register and always makes sure my grandmother has help to her car with her groceries.
