Today, I went for my rescheduled appointment and due to traffic delays was 10 minutes late. No call from them, doctor had left because "she had things to do". And why didn't I call, their way of putting blame on me instead of apologizing. This tells me the doctor probably left 2 minutes or so after i didn't show, and if I would've been there ok, would have given me a very rushed appointment because "she had things to do". The clinic assistants are also really friendly and good at multitasking to keep everything moving and bounce between fitting people for glasses, running the preliminary tests, calling in insurance, and manning the reception desk. I've always gotten into my appointment on time and back out quickly. The limited frame selection and price point for many frames is what keeps me from it being a five-star experience; I usually end up picking out frames elsewhere. The upside, though, is that I have the option to do this - I've never been pressured to buy in-store or had any issue getting my prescription and measurements to take to another retailer.

I needed to get in for an eye exam on a specific date and this was the only place with…read moreavailability. Now I know why! First of all, I wasn't told until I was already here that it was going to be a telehealth exam, meaning over a TV screen with an eye doctor that wasn't on site. Okay, fine. She barely spoke English and I couldn't really understand her, but I was already here and just wanted to get it over with. Then I told them what contacts I wear, and they said they've never heard of that brand (Eureka dailies, by Bausch and Lomb) and they can't dispense a brand that they themselves don't sell. It's never been an issue with other optical places, but okay whatever. I told them I wasn't planning on ordering from them anyway, I always order them through Walmart but unfortunately they didn't have an eye doctor available and couldn't do the eye exam and that I've done this before. They said they would write the prescription for Acuvue instead. I told them I would really prefer to stick with the same brand because I knew they worked and I could afford them. I told them I also wasn't interested in weeklies or monthlies, only dailies. They said they could just write a prescription for Bausch and Lomb since they couldn't do Eureka specifically, and that shouldn't be a problem. Well, like an idiot I didn't look at the prescription to check that it was correct. They wrote a prescription for Acuvue monthlies. So, when I went to fill the prescription, my contacts couldn't be dispensed. Walmart called Stanton and they said they could change the prescription but I had to come in person, it couldn't be done over the phone. Annoying, but not a huge deal. Well, when I came in to Stanton I was told they "can't legally" change a prescription to a brand that they don't sell themselves. Again, I've done this other places before and I was told on the phone that it was doable as long as it was in person. When I asked for a refund so I could go get another eye exam elsewhere, I was told this was impossible since they had already performed the service. What "service", I don't know since I wasn't even actually seen by a doctor, I'm not entirely sure the prescription was correct since I couldn't understand her, and they didn't write me a prescription for the contacts that I wanted. As far as I'm concerned I didn't receive any "service" other than my time being completely wasted!
