We drove 1 hr 35 min out of the way for a vendor that is there this weekend. While the vendor disappointed us overall, we got part of what we were wanting and have to order the rest. Due to Black Friday weekend it's the same price on the vendors website. That said, we found a few items (totaling nearly $1k) that our Costco doesn't have that had been on our want list for years. Best price we've ever seen on one of them. Anyway, pays to shop around between other costcos. read more

Used to be that our trips to Costco, though 62 miles one way, were something to look forward to, time spent together, walking the aisles, discussing what we need vs want, etc. I really can't recall when we've had a negative experience with Costco employees, until...this location opened up in The Villages. For some reason, this particular location, though shiny and new, has always had kind of a negative aura about it, even down to how the store is situated, just kind of plunked down wherever it fit. The staff are mostly just rude, not caring, impatient. And although it is only 30 miles one way for us, each visit has just left us feeling like, "what a bummer." The returns department - they're the worst, almost hostile. The only one in the whole place who really acts as if customers are important is Peter in Optical. He could teach some lessons to his fellow Costco employees on how to treat customers. So now we will just go back to before and drive twice as far to avoid this Debbie Downer store. read more

So happy to have a closer Costco in the area. Grand opening day was a lot of fun. We've been back once again already. What you'd expect from a Costco - Big, Bright, Clean, lots of deals. They have tents set up out front to handle all the new member applications with several employees. Once inside the store, the crowd wasn't bad at all and they had the check outs fully manned, so no long lines. The food court has the normal delights - hot dog meal deal, pizza, chicken bake, sundae, etc. They have a new option - a Calzone that looks good. Plenty of fresh hot whole chickens in the back of the store, plus wings, etc. Full cases of ready made foods, desserts and the usual end cap specials. Also has a pharmacy, vision center, hearing aids, tire center, gas station and separate liquor store. read more

Im not the biggest fan of Costco - it is always chaotic, anytime you go. This new one, I've been a couple times, the parking is not as chaotic as other locations I have visited, the parking spaces are huge. It bothers me you have to always have your ID on your to scan to just enter the store, its harder to get into this store than others. staff were friendly. the Kitchen station is always busy but line moves quick. We enjoy the food samples. read more

I encountered an exceptionally impolite service experience with an attendant named Richard at the checkout line. Richard accused me of "cutting in front of everyone" to another customer, despite there being no queue at the self-checkout station I utilized. When I confronted him regarding this accusation, he denied making the statement. He subsequently engaged in an argument with me when I reiterated that I distinctly heard his comment and found his behavior to be discourteous. I subsequently reported this incident to Supervisor Elizabeth. She offered an apology and defended Richard, characterizing the situation as a misunderstanding. read more

What more can I say than COSTCO is FINALLY in the Villages/Ocala area! We have been patiently waiting for a long time, and it delivers! I have missed the superior options that Costco offers compared to Sam's and BJ's. Better meat, better fish, better chickens, better cheese, better snacks, better.... well you get the idea. Nice Costco. We were going to Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens (see other posted review) and we needed groceries on the way back so we decided to go to this Costco in Oxford, FL near the Villages. This was a nice Costco and it was very new in Buffalo Ridge Plaza in a pretty decent location on CR-466 about 15 mins from the interstate. read more

Made it to the door with my receipt and 1 of my 2 packs of water didn't get rung up ? I didn't ring stuff up they did so on a day the store is absolutely packed she says you'll have to go back and get this taken care of? Ummm Kiss my a.... I told'em just take it and she says you'll have to lift it out and set it right there? I said I'm either leaving with it or someone that works here is picking that up I'm not the person that didn't ring it up! She says if you leave with it you'll be charged with stealing? Ok I'll take that risk because if I lift it out of here you're gonna need to call an ambulance because my back is gonna need you to call for one hahaha they took it out! read more

I enjoy the convenience of shopping at Costco. There are key items that I stock up on that give me a significant savings over the local grocery store. I would like to have labeled aisles and less switching of items within the store. It seems like items don't live in the same place for long. Costco is Costco ( it is what it is in other words) One thing that is really bad about this one is my experience at the food court. I ALWAYS look forward to grabbing a hotdog when I get to a Costco because they are really good and it will help me NOT buy every food item I see because I'm hungry. At this particular food court, the counter & prep area did stand out as a bit grubby had a very disheveled & agitated young lady manhandling the poor hotdogs like they insulted her. I decided to order a slice of pizza which she stabbed and slopped down in front of me. I never had Costco pizza but figured if the pizza is nearly as good as the hotdogs, it won't be bad.... I figured wrong. Total slop. Literally one bite and it went in the garbage. What really burned me was as I was paying for the slice, the food abusing young previously mentioned asked if I " would like a cup with that?" I didn't think a soda or " cup" was included with the price of the slop, I mean slice, but thought she was offering it incase I wanted water. She handed me a cup and rang up an additional 79 cents. If I wanted a soda I would have ordered one & the price of it wasn't the issue, but I said 79 cents for a cup? I told her , what she should have asked was , " would you like to add a drink to your order for 79 cents ? " she snarled and went back to abusing the hot dogs. The four stars I left were for the Costco itself but if I could the food court would be one star read more

Costco in The Villages opened in August, 2025. It is fantastic. Set up like every other Costco in every other State the folks working there are awesome. I'm a huge fan having purchased a car through them as well as all my tires. I love the optical department & the pharmacy too. Once your Rx is received they will text you to let you know when to come pick up. So grateful to have Costco! read more

I purchased glasses for the first time at Costco. I wasn't thrilled with the service. I drove an hour to get there. The first pair was fantastic. The second one didn't fit properly, went to the store and showed them. The one lady there adjusted it, so they wrapped around my ear. I got home with the glasses on, took them off, and the arm broke off. Now we returned for the 3rd time, and because I have to drive an hour every time I go. But it must have been my day because I got a gentleman, whose name is Peter Htoo, who took his time replacing the frame and lenses. Out of all those service attendants, I found him the best. While writing this recommendation, as one who had to drive up there three or four times for a total of over 6 hours of driving, just had to get the second pair of glasses to work properly. It took Peter 45 minutes to make it right. THANK YOU PETER. read more

I love costco and spend a ton of money there but this location is horrible. They never have boxes at the registers and for some reason this location doesn't have the stack of boxes on the way out so you can atleast pack them at your car. The returns counter is rarely busy since the store is the slowest Costco I have ever been to but the service is the slowest ever. It took 20 minutes to get a price adjustment from a supervisor the other day. Please step in and figure out what the issue is at this store so I domt have to go back to driving to Ckermont. read more

We went to the new Costco for the first time and got lunch on the way out. We got pizza and there was a chunk of hair and idk what else it was absolutely disgusting. Now adding to this review we bought salmon and found parasites infested in the fish. read more

Too bad there wasn't a minus star. I was treated extremely bad by a young employee who is at the exit door. I couldn't find my receipt. Instead of her saying I'm sorry, I have a job but no authority to let you leave without a receipt. She instead informed me I need to read the FINE PRINT so I would know I couldn't leave without a receipt. Costco, teach your rude employee like the one I had the displeasure of being rudely told about the FINE PRINT. She was a dark haired young girl with no idea of how to speak with customers I just came home from Costco in Ocala Florida. The way I was treated was unacceptable. She was working on 10/3/25 and was feeling like she was the boss because I didn't have my receipt. Costco needs to put this rude employee in her place. She had an attitude and needs to treat customers with respect and tact. Do you have classes so this girl knows how to treat customers with respect and tact. read more

I've been going to Costcos since they first opened when I was in my teens. Love them. I always say the buyers have great tastebuds. My first complaint, EVER, about them is about this particular location. Because it's new, I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to say they will remedy the situation. That is, they MUST get MORE electric carts. Someone is going to get in a fight, otherwise. My brother followed someone out to their car to fetch their cart for our mom. When he arrived at the front of the store, a woman expressed anger and said she had been waiting! Then, when she saw our mom while shopping, she tore into her. Meanwhile, I was also walking the parking lot in 94-degree heat for a cart for our mom. Would she have argued with me, too? Maybe she thought that, by (previously) announcing 2-3 employees were looking for a cart for her, it made her entitled to the first cart. Wrong. If the employees found her one, of course. For Costco, this was a trashy thing to have happen. read more

I have been a Costco member since the beginning and have always enjoyed my experience shopping...until today. I was at the (new) Costco in the Villages and as I was leaving around 10:45am on Feb 7, there were two Costco members working ( a man on the right and woman on the left ). We checked out with the man and immediately as I walked out I turned around to return and use the restroom before heading back to Ocala. As soon as I crossed the "line" to re-enter Costco, the woman (so sorry I didn't get her name but she is a dirty blond, about 5' 10, slim) literally jumped directly in my path (where if I didn't stop instantly - I would have ran into her), squared her shoulders (as though were were going to exchange punches) put her face about 2" from mine and in an extremely stern and raised voice asked me what I was doing (or words to that affect). I was so shocked, I responded in kind (I shouldn't have but holy smokes - I thought she was going to hit me - seriously!) and I said I just walked out and was going to use the restroom. In the same tone as she started she said for me to go to the front entrance (or words to that affect). I was so shocked by her aggressiveness, I left before I did or said something equal to the vial tone and manner that this Costco member treated me. If she worked for me, I would have fired her on the spot. No reason in the world to treat a customer like that! NONE! You don't jump in front of someone and threatening manner. She is the poster child for unprofessionalism and rudeness. read more
