This place is ALWAYS busy; prepare to battle for a parking spot close to the entrance. The selection of items is pretty standard of most Costco's, but the service at the pharmacy here is superb. They're very quick to fill prescriptions and are friendly and helpful. Those on cashier duty are very quick to check you out, which makes up for the hoards of people you have to wade through in the produce areas. Expect it. Don't be in a rush. But if you find that you are, this is not the place, friend, you need to go elsewhere! read more

Very unwelcome place to be, especially at the front entrance. I was going to go, and see what are the good deals, but there's some really rude personal at the entrance, made me feel unwelcome, because I don't have a member ID!? Come down is not the airport. They could be very ill-mannered. I don't like to be rude, but I was tempted in that moment. By the way my aunt told me that the raw chicken has a weird smell. This location has become terrible over the last few years. The managers are lazy. Two different times I had to ask where a sale item was. When the manager told me they do not sell the item. I told them it is in the ad. They would not even look into it for me. Then I had to ask months later for another item. Same response. I did eventually find they had both items even after the manager said they did not carry them. The third world country atmosphere s off putting. No one wants to work. The last time I had gone into costco the girl at the register was so busy flirting with the guy that was suppose to be putting my items in my cart. The girl never said a word to me as she continually turned to the guy asking about his living arrangements and his mom who visits from El Savador. By the time my items were wrung up the girl and guy went to get the cart of the next customer. My items still sat at the table like area. I loudly said to the guy thanks for loading my cart but was ignored as I noticed the girl and guy were still chatting away. I grabbed my items put them in the cart and have not been back since. Get rid of the third world atmosphere and bring in people that want to work. read more

Now that we live in a rural area, it's quite an excursion to go to a Costco! We're smack in the middle of the Costcos in Fredericksburg, Glen Allen, and Charlottesville, with each being about an hour from our house. So, we emptied out the back of the car, put in some coolers and ice packs, and headed to the Fredericksburg store. We found our old favorites -- Cape Cod Chicken salad; Mexican cheese. Some new things that we wanted to try -- Olive Garden salad dressing: hemp hearts. Nice fresh fruits and veggies -- red grapes, banana. And, some good sales -- chicken thighs ($6 off) and Tide Oxipods ($5.40 off). Check-out was relatively smooth; they always seem to be busy! But, the real measure of success? All of our refrigerated items fit into our coolers, and the rest fit in the car! read more

I love this Costco! I come here once a week for my grocery shopping, and I have yet to have a bad experience. I grab my cart and flash my card, and everything from there is just a breeze. I eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, and I really appreciate the variety of organic produce to choose from. I usually get here between 11-1, and there are sample stations set up throughout the food sections so that you can try some of their products! The return policy here really can't be beat. I'm never scared to buy clothing here without trying it on, becasue I know can try it on at home and if I don't like it, I can just return it the following week. You don't even need a receipt, just your Costco card! I grew up in the DC metro area, and I can honestly say this one isn't as insanely busy as the one I went to growing up! Let me begin by saying SANDY, and the optical department is extremely rude and unprofessional on the phone with customers. I called to inquire about placing an order for contacts, and she acted as though I was seriously bothering her by looking up my information to see if I was able to order them there. Sandy hung up on me while I was still asking a question. This was today at 4:18 pm. I came into the office and simply did not speak to her. Allen was extremely helpful, pleasant and professional! Also so was the staff at checkout, which are only reasons why I am giving 3 stars versus 1. This Costco is part of the Spotsylvania Towne Centre, connected to the mall, so you can walk around and do shopping and then end up doing some bulk shopping afterwards. Just like other Costcos, they offer are appliances, auto/tires, items for babies and kids, clothing, handbags, computers/printers, electronics, furniture, hardware, health and beauty products, home/decor items, jewelry/watches, office products, patio/outdoor items, items for pets, and travel/luggage items. There is a huge influx of people here, especially on the weekends, but the cashiers seem to be pretty efficient - I noticed that they didn't have all of the lanes opened, but the lines moved quickly. Staff members are all friendly, and there are more samples available on the weekends. The 'food court' dining-in area is a little tiny, and the lines in front of the ordering area can be a little in the way of those who are checking out. The cafe here is a joke. 4 minutes to get a hotdog and soda. There was a woman in line ahead of me who waited at least 10 minutes for them to hand her a cup. That was her whole order, a soda, 10+ minutes. I hope she didn't want the lemonade because it was fizzy like a soda and didn't taste much like lemonade. I asked for onions, they didn't have any. Walking out of Costco a few days ago, I had just a few items, the lady checking my receipt insisted on touching all of the contents in basket, I asked could You please wear a glove if you insist on touching everything, she said "I don't need to wear anything , just get out of here , shut up and go!" I am 45 years old so believe me when I tell you I couldn't believe what I heard. I mentioned it to one manager and she said oh no not her she would never say that, even though it was in front of my wife and kids and brother as well. Finally asked to speak to the warehouse manger and he said he would talk to her. So who knows if he even did. costco is a corrupt company who is only into profiteering without care for certain people that were injured due to their negligence. i was injured on their sidewalk the first day i signed up. they had a wiring taped from a mobile toilet they hired directly from the parking lot into their bldg. i didn't see the wiring & i fell flat on my face (left side brow bone) along with the rest of my body. they didn't even block the sidewalk that morning so no one will get injured especially with a protruded wiring on a flat sidewalk. i was distraught & they asked me to fill out a pc. of paper about the incident. as i was writing, a bump started to appear on my eyebrow while i was feeling a throbbing pain. after i finished, i thought i will still be able to shop for items i went there for, but a headache & left shoulder pain started to bother me so i decided to abandon my cart and headed towards my car. i noticed they blocked the sidewalk and the parking lot after my injury. it took several hours filling out the paper cause i was in a daze and pain wouldn't allow me to concentrate so i decided to go home to relax. i ended up rubbing the pain with essential oil blend i mixed on my forehead (i learned from aromatherapy course), then i laid down to rest but i wasn't tires, but fell asleep & woke up after midnight. the next day i called costco headquarters about the incident & they said they will take care of it & i will hear from them. they never did call back or showed any concern at all. after 2 days, i had a black-eye & i started having back pain every time i exercised. i even called a lawyer so i can get compensated to pay for holistic therapy, but no one would take my case & i felt abandoned to deal with my pain. i did the best to help myself through holistic teachings i learned through books & other resources available. to make the story short, the people who saw my injury while i was filling out the paper & the other employees who tried to help me in legal matters disappeared & the man working at the legal dept. at the headquarters no longer worked there, so i was left dumbfounded & upset for a whole year until it was time to renew my membership in which i removed any access to my debit card to prevent them from renewing. it was definitely a conspiracy & injustice on their end. the back pain is still there when i exercise in certain position. the emotional damage will never go away and how their hypocrisy & greed for money will always stay in my heart. it's just a matter of time when god will step in to bring justice to the trodden ones, vs. those who participated in their unlawful operations & conspiracy. not even offering at least some compensation of a sort to show they're a caring company. costco ended up blaming the mobile toilet they hired and vice-versa, but what about the victim who suffered? disgusting without integrity!!! read more

SOME NEED REFRESHER TRAINING FOR BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE! Self check line: use this 2-3 times a month. One guy is great, very proactive, and courteous: scans the membership card and my usual 2 to 5 items, boom, we're done. Give that guy a raise! Other employees are not so great. One guy in particular might helpfully point to an open terminal, if he's not too busy with his phone or chatting with another employee or customer. If they aren't busy, he might even turn his back on you as you approach. One-on-one, he is rude and impatient, as if scanning something is interrupting something more important (like playing with the phone, but I repeat myself). Another woman today had almost the same work "ethic" of standing around with her scanner and chatting. Food court is courting disaster. 1115, ordered the standby hot dog and drink. 1130, went for a refund! 2 women working behind the counter, the one at the cash register seem to be better at flapping around uselessly than getting orders out. Things should be ready to go at that time of day, but long lines there have been so common lately that I have opted to go elsewhere. Gas prices are best around. Wish they had diesel fuel. read more

Purchased 2 sets of eye glasses from the Costco Optical department from this location. The first set the lens kept popping off the frame, they was no warranty but I complained and they covered it. 2 years later same problem. They don't make that frame anymore as it is discontinued. Did not offer anything and did not want to help me until I got a new eye exam. I told them that I'd go somewhere else did not seem to bother them offering nothing. I have never paid money to be talked to like I was today in Costco. We were in self checkout and the label on our watermelon was torn so we could not use the scanner ourselves. Nita, who was working the self checkout (and who we have have noticed on prior trips has a attitude) came up to here we were. She said (really rudely) put the watermelon in the cart and I will scan it. It had not been 2 seconds (for us to respond to the request) and she said, I said put the watermelon in the cart so I can scan it. Probably one of the rudest persons I have run into in any establishment. I realized people are stressed and working hard, but this seems to be the norm for her. Had to make an emergency stop on a Saturday morning in the busiest part of Fredericksburg....for a phone charger! With only a few minutes to spare, we accomplished our task in less than 15 minutes! The staff was exceptional! They moved like they were working on a busy Friday after Christmas sale. Cashier lines were open throughout the front of the store, the merchandise pickup area had staff for each customer. There was simply no waiting! We shop here often and have a membership with Costco for 20+ years. We bought 2 bottles of Moet Chandon champagne for a celebration out of town. We opened the bottles and they smelled and tasted like CABBAGE! Yuck! We looked it up and found that it comes from the store buying cheap pallets of bottles that are stored improperly. This is for the Tire Center at this location. Needed a tire repaired for a nail in the tread. Showed up at 10 AM to try and get in early. Found out they only allow appointments. Thought I was lucky to get an appointment at 3 PM the same day so I waited around until it was time for the appointment. When I dropped the car off and told them what kind of car it was two of them started debating whether the car had noise reduction tires and one said "I'm not messing with a noise reduction tire." They charged me a $10.99 fee (apparently non-refundable) and told me it would take a couple hours because they only had 2 people. So I waited around again for an hour just for them to tell me they "couldn't" work on the tire due to the noise reduction foam. They said it was because the adhesive for the foam interfered with the adhesive for the plug and said they did it once before, it didn't work and they were told to never do it again (nevermind the guy said he "wouldn't" do it earlier). On top of that, they said they didn't have ANY new tires in the size I needed. Basically a whole day wasted and despite me providing the make and model when I made the appointment no one looked and thought to contact me earlier to not waste my day. read more

Walked into Costco for the first time ever with the intent on purchasing a membership. I was lied to by two separate employees about what information they needed from me to join. (I don't blame them, I think they were trained to do this as part of convincing people to join) I'm sensitive about my personal information and was told by both of them that they only needed my ID and payment info. As I was filling out the form he asked me for my phone number. I asked if that was needed and he said yes, I asked if there was anything else and he said an email address. I told him he didn't say any of that earlier and he apologized. Very not happy at this point and I asked again if there was anything else? He said just payment which I proceeded to do. Then he dropped a bomb and asked me to take a picture. I said no and he told me he couldn't get me a card without it. I told him he just told me I didn't need to give him anything else and he said he didn't think I would mind. My bank doesn't need my picture and I wouldn't have gone near that place I knew that was required. I immediately asked for a refund and left. read more

She smiled and laughed with people of her same melatonin levels without checking their receipts or inventory but treated those not alike with scorn, treating her like a would be thief! As long as you don't mind buying higher quality products in larger sized packages, you'll absolutely love Costco. I look forward to receiving Costco's monthly member's savings booklet every month. The store's prices are already great and when something goes on sale, you know that you're getting a really good price. In shopping at Costco for about ten years now, I've rarely had a problem with the quality of their products. Their products always outperform the products at BJs and Sam's Club. Before the pandemic, when Costco offered lots of free samples, you could literally walk around and have a meal while you shopped but those days are long over. Oh, and I forgot to mention, talk about a return policy, Costco has to have one of the most generous ones. You just can't go wrong shopping with them. In fact, the policy is so good that you'll be more tempted to try new products because you know that they've got your back. Now to what I really wanted to write: I can see that Costco employees are always working really hard, doing their best under very stressful conditions. I'm always amazed how helpful and courteous they are even when they're surrounded by, well, you know what I mean. When I got home and was unpacking my items, I realized that the batteries that I bought were not there. I went back to Costco. The ladies there were amazing. One particular lady, took my receipt and searched on the camera to find what happened. Unfortunately they could not find anything because of video and the time stamp. This is for the tire center. Paid for tires on 7/31, called on the 8/3 to see if they were in, they weren't. Than on 8/7 got a voicemail mentioning my interest in the tires, called a few days later, gave my name and mentioned the message I received and was told to come on in to have them put on. Show up on 8/13, as my schedule allowed, and was told order had been cancelled by Donald who originally helped me. So they didn't have my tires but they still had my money. The first reason I love Costco...They have a MAX 15% markup over cost. You can find amazing things there for a good price. Over the years we have purchased many big ticket items like tables, tv's and their temper pedic like mattress. The tables were twice as much at other stores. The tv was 900 more for the same model without a stand at best buy and the mattress you cant even compare. When I can, I buy the Kirkland store brand.
