I needed a trustworthy place to get my wedding band and engagement ring cleaned and inspected, since it was purchased from Costco and they don't offer cleaning services. After a recommendation from a family member while visiting Fredericksburg and seeing the other positive reviews about DND I decided to give them a shot, and I'm so glad I did! My rings were inspected, repaired, cleaned and polished in just a few hours. I dropped it off around lunchtime and picked it up at closing time. The gentlemen who assisted me were friendly and professional and offered me bottled water while I was being helped. It turns out I had three loose stones in the band and one in the engagement ring and they were able to tighten them for me as well. They explained to me what they were doing and when I picked the rings up they provided me with a copy of my IGI Certification paperwork. I thought my rings were already pretty clean since they are only a few years old and I clean them on my own at home, but when I put them back on I was amazed at how shiny they were. I was able to get some jewelry appraised, my dads watches repaired and not to mention a free battery change. I'm usually a skeptical shopper but Sam and Andrew earned my trust. After seeing what they can do in such a short period of time I can say that this is my Go-To shop! It's a nice and elegant shop but that wasn't important to me - I needed some knowledgeable experts to fix my dads old watch. I went to a few other shops and they weren't able to fix it. I was in dire need of a resizing for my rings in time for my wedding. I spoke with the owner Mike was very accommodating and kind. He advised me he could take care of my rings in time for my wedding. He told me to come into the store on a Monday, I arrived at the store and a woman claiming to be his "daughter" was extremely rude and was profiling me. I am 7 months pregnant and not looking my best it was very early in the morning. She refused service to me and told me it would be 3 weeks out u til my rings would be ready. Although I told her I spoke to the owner 2 days prior and he said rings could be ready within the week. I'm baffled by how a company can thrive like this having a racist woman working the counter! This past Saturday, my fiance and I went in to see Andrew at DND Jewelers for an independent GIA appraisal of our engagement ring. We're from NOVA and after calling around for quotes in our area, we were anticipating having to pay $200 for an appraisal of a solitaire diamond ring. We made an appointment with Andrew and were quoted $65. My fiance was seen as soon as we arrived and Andrew was incredibly honest and helpful. He didn't charge us for the appraisal at all, because the diamond had a GIA certificate number etching (which Andrew took the time to show both of us under the microscope). Andrew also generously cleaned the ring for us! We were so impressed by his generosity and professionalism that we immediately asked to look at wedding bands. Took a diamond to DND jewelers and asked the jeweler about the value saying I knew nothing about it. After looking at it carefully with a loop he said he "might" be able to get about $2000 from it if he was lucky and I would let him sell it. Took it to another Jeweler who gave me a written appraisal over $20,000. Either this jeweler is totally incompetent or totally dishonest or both. Stay away if you know whats good for you. I brought a much loved ring to Andrew to have it altered, and he could not have been more helpful or done a better job. I asked him to remove two of the stones in the ring, turn those into earrings, and replace the stones with a diamond look-alike in the ring.
