The store itself is fine and is always busy however I ordered a microwave and delivery from Costco to be delivered and installed. The day of the delivery no one called and no one showed up. I had to call and reschedule and again no call no show. This is unacceptable. If you have delivery contracted out then the delivery company must be reliable. The delivery and install standard is poor and not acceptable. Costco must fix this. read more

What's with the Kirkland Signature Breakfast Blend Organic Light Roast K-cuo coffee pods. When I make a 10-ounce cup of coffee with creme and no sugar, it taste definitely bitter, more so than the Light Roast coffee from Panera or even MacDonald. When I checked, I notice the box never said the pods contain 100% Arabica coffee beans, as with most high quality bag of 10 oz coffee beans sold at supermarkets. Disappointing! read more

Why you might not want to buy your tires at Costco. They have a good replacement policy but the service at this particular Costco tire center is horrible. After buying new tires there last year (as we have for all our cars since joining in 2016) only Costco Apex has touched the tires on our Honda. They rotated them earlier in the year and then replaced a tire that had a nail (coincidentally the day after the rotation). My wife took the car to have them rotated and the locking lug key was missing. The only explanation that makes sense is that they failed to return it to the car after replacing the tire. This happened in TX one time on a different car and they admitted and agreed to replace the key (they are around $20 at Honda). This time they refused and we had to go to Honda to get a new key and get them to rotate the tire due to lack of desire to deal with Costco and their BS. Also: while waiting on my wife to come to the tire center to ask them about the lug key THEY LEFT THE CAR RUNNING IN THE PARKING LOT WTH THE SECURITY FOB IN IT! The manager said "wow thats weird". If you want to shop for groceries at a store that enforces mask wearing, then this is the place for you. I cannot tell you how many stores I have lost respect for because they are not following Covid guidelines. In my opinion, a store that does not enforce masks and offer hand sanitizer at the very least, is a business that does not care about their employees. If you're not a fan of following their rules but want to continue purchasing their products, then use Instacart, simple as that. With my job, I do several large monthly events. In January I switched my membership from BJs to Costco due to the lack of good customer service. This has definitely been surpassed by Costco. However I have a few major complaints. First, the store does not have as wide of a selection of products as BJs. I was so disappointed when I went shopping for a large pancake breakfast that I was putting together for over 60 people. The only pancake mix was an expensive, gluten feee option. Also there was not a good option for pancake syrup. I wound up having to go to another store for a majority of my items. Second, shopping at Costco is so frustrating because the aisles have no signage! This more than doubled my normal shopping trip. With these kinds of hassles, as an event planner, are not worth it. I don't foresee myself renewing my membership. I wish I could get my money refunded and go back to BJs. read more

I haven't availed most of the services here since I am a relatively new member. The store is clean, well lit. Staff is helpful and friendly. I've not returned opened food items but one top I returned due to fit issue - the return cashier was friendly and process was quick. Things I like at Costco ---- Kettle chips, snacks, Protein powders , almond flour, jasmine rice, olive oil, frozen veggies, Heavenly Hunks Oatmeal squares , Our cat loves the Kirkland brand grain-free salmon dry food. Brand names clothing like Tommy Hilfiger, Gloria Vanderbilt, Kirkland white under tees. I was not a highflying brands person before but I realize these brands clothing lasts forever than a Kohl's/JC Penny or Macy's shirt. Beauty items like the Cerave cream, the Kirkland lotion (which we no longer get in stores ) Stationery items. Didn't like ---- The Kirkland brand Citrus body wash that looks like Neutrogena. It was sticky and slimy and didn't feel like a clean wash. Didn't return it as it was used. The Made in China electronic items which conk off after a month. Shout out to the tire center here. I am so thankful I bought my tires from Costco. A week later, I had a screw in my tire. I drove on the spare to this location and they fixed it for free. Then they told me that if it was not repairable they would have just replaced the tire for a $15 install fee. Super awesome! But the best part, what took the service here to the next level was that they repaired the mechanism that lowers the spare tire. I've been driving with the spare in the back for ages because it was broken. Other people have tried to fix it and they made it happen. I didn't even ask or say anything about it. Super thankful. Poor return experience The store is fine mostly. I agree with other reviewers that lines are longs, hours are short etc etc. That's costco in general pretty much in any state you go to a costco. The issue I have is return service is extremely poor, bordering rudeness. I was returning hangers that I thought were too big size. Anyway, I had opened it, and put them back and attempted to return it. The lady at the counter spoke in a challenging tone - demanding to know what was wrong with it. I told her I thought they were too big. She seemed fuming and furiously went through the items to see if I had included all of them in the box or find a way to deny. She couldn't. Wasn't respectful. I looked at the return policy allows one to return items for any reason including buyers remorse. Her question was in a tone that conveyed or implied I could only return it if there was something wrong with the item. Also noticing other people's reviews it appears there is some lack of training and customer support at this particular location, so I thought I would chime in. I am keeping membership since I believe in the company, but I believe the management needs to look into ratings and see if they can improve the customer experience with the staff at this particular location. read more

Apex location is always crowded and parking can be a challenge when I visit (Fri & weekends). Today, I experienced great service with the Tire Center (Jordan) serviced my vehicle (4 new Michelin tires) before scheduled appointment time. Customer Service (Qte) provided great service in answering renewal questions, including (Kim) in the Eye Glasses area who assisted with several frames. They ensured that my Costco needs were met 100% during busy times of the day. Thanks! read more

I kind of wish that the durham or raleigh Costco were closer.... I went here on saturday, ~ 5, but I forgot my card. I was told to wait in the new members line, and when I saw it, I nearly fainted. The line was about 20 deep, and took me ~ 20 minutes to get a temporary card. By the time I got out to the floor, there was only about 30 minutes to shop, which was hindered by the checkout lines that were literally 25 carts deep. It was actually hard to get to the back of the stores through all of the people that were waiting to check out. We finally got just the essentials and got out of the store by 5:59. As we left, people were still running in from the parking lot to try and make it into the store by the time it closed at 6 pm. We stumbled upon Costco due to their great Rx pricing. We later joined, and here's a run down. Pros: a) With or without insurance, they offer some of the best Rx pricing in the Triangle. b) They have a crazy cheap deal in their "food court" for a 1/4 pound hot dog, and a soda for $1.50. Yes, I thought I was seeing things. Most places charge at least this for just a soda. Plus the hot dog meat is a better than expected quality. This price includes a topping bar. It's not vast, but it's free, and for $1.50 includes free drink refills. c) Lots of high quality offerings. d) If anyone in your group enjoys samples, they offer plenty. e) Several items unique to Costco. f) They double the warranty length on most electronics. g) Signing up for a Costco credit card results in a $60 check, and the card adds even more length to warranties. Cons: a) Furniture on display often beat up, not plugged in (vibrating chair), or unworking. b) Cash register lines are consistently long and appear overwhelming at times. c) Not as good a selection of pasta sauces as BJ's. read more

This Costco branch has big parking space, clean facility, and wide selections of products. They move stuff around constantly, so finding the same item on your next visit can be a lot like treasure hunting at times. I have been here during the week thinking it will be less busy - but it was still packed. Over the weekend and holidays is so much worse. The staff are always helpful and friendly, checkout is like clockwork, but the lines are still ridiculous. I really hope they will build another in the area. Otherwise - a great store! This review is for the Optical Dept at Costco. I also visited the Carolina Optometry Assoc which is located in the lobby of Costco (and they don't have their own check in). First for the eye exam. I was in and out in 30 minutes ! It was a thorough "state of the art" exam. Fully computerized ! Dr. Andrew Graves was fabulous. I have problem eyes and he was super helpful at answering questions and solving a problem I was having. The price was reasonable and you can't beat him for the service. After receiving my prescription, I was off to Costco's optical department........ I had been to this optical dept before and I was coming back again. They will put lenses in your own frames. A lot of places won't do that. They charge you $18 for having your own frames. I have had both sunglasses and regular glasses done here. The staff is helpful and professional. They have a variety of lenses available. Turn around time for my latest order was exactly 7 days. The only problem here is that is can get crowded. I waited in line for probably 20 minutes. Also, make sure your prescription isn't over a year old because if it is (expired ? who knew a glasses RX can be expired) they won't make your glasses. They have a good variety of frames on display. They also have contacts available. You HAVE to be a member to take advantage of the Optical Dept. YOUR name must be the name on the membership card. read more

I have been very happy with this Costco. My husband was able to get his prescription glasses, which he loves, for a lower price than he has ever gotten any where else. We have gotten good deals on clothes, garden materials, pool materials and of course food. I love the Kirkland paper towels and I love that the tuna there contains no soy. My one complaint is how busy it is at night and on the weekends. It's crazy and people either are freaked out by how busy or they are just kind of rude. That is the customers not the staff. I will continue to shop at Costco regularly. read more

This place is a freaking madhouse--both when trying to park and while inside attempting to navigate around all of the newbies. You would think that these people have never seen a Costco before, sheesh! Since I was in town visiting my brother and his wife, I picked up a few things--salad stuff, fudge and two thermos bottles. Just the basic stuff you would pick up on a weekly errand. Good location for the locals--once they get the parking situation fixed. Toured Costco after opening last week. Same setup as a SAMs club feel. No self kiosks for checkout, no aisle signs. Huge impressive cheesecakes!!! King crab legs were an eye catcher even if I don't eat shellfish. Chicken breast were expensive. They don't carry Goya olive oil which is a deal breaker for me since bjs is slightly closer to for the same product. Bjs sundried tomatoes were a dollar cheaper for the same size. For me I liked Costco but will probably stick with bjs. However your experience may be different as it just depends on what u r looking for. :0)) read more

Ok. Went to have a tire repaired for a nail hole , bought the tires from Costco about 3-4 weeks before.they're out of stock so I have to come back a few days later. So I give them My key fob and they say will take about an hour. Okay. I go shop around for a few minutes and pay for my stuff and go wait near tire shop area until they call me. I answer the phone and tell him where I'm at and he says just meet me outside , they're pulling you car out now. Okay. I walk outside and he's walking towards me and he kinda palms my keys to me and says thanks have a good one. Okay. My arms are kinda full so I walk towards my car and I'm fumbling with my key to hit the trunk button and wth is wrong with my keys ?!? It's kinda dark on the side of the building so I walk towards some Light and my key fob is torn open over the trunk release button and the actual contact button is jacked up off the tiny circuit board inside. There's a little bump under the torn rubber over that part. I go back inside to show them and very long story short I am accused of trying to rip Costco off for a $500 key fob ( that's how much they cost according to the tire manager / key fob expert -- he knows bcuz he had a Camaro once -- per local dealership price is $180. ). I never asked to have my fob replaced. Just fix the ripped rubber part. Well after dealing with the tire manager and trying to explain how my fob was not " old and worn out " and that was not the reason for the tear. The tear happened while they had the fob. It was not damaged in any way until Costco got ahold of it. And I love Costco. Feces happens , I understand , but to accuse the customer for damage that y'all caused is unacceptable. To date I have not heard from their claims company except for a for letter saying they can't get in touch with me ??they don't answer the phone or return calls So I've decided to tell the world how logic is kryptonite to their tire manager and how incompetent their claims company is. Lol. The torn button is the least used button in my fob. Trunk part of fob is used 1-2 every two weeks to put stuff / groceries in trunk but the unlock / lock are used multiple times a day and they're not " old and worn out " but the button used the least is ?!? Yep. Kryptonite. Tire manager actually asked me if he looked at security video would he see his guys breaking my key. Dude , how the hell am I supposed to know what you'll see. Why don't you look at the security video of when I placed my undamaged key fob on the counter at the tire shop. Compare it to the torn fob you gave me back. I shop at Costco bcuz I can. Hours SUCK. 10-6? Seriously???? I have a JOB people. And going sat or sun when their hours are that limited means it is dante's 7th circle of hell to go on a weekend. Lines at cashier at beyond ridiculous. And fine, if your lines are going to consistently be that long, at least arrange your store to accommodate that length of wine. As it stands, the merchandise is in the way, and no one can create a proper line, and so all of the walkways are taking up, and arguments are started over who is in line where. It is terrible. Parking lot is a nightmare, gas line is long, customer service line is always long, store workers who hand out samples are not the friendliest, and fellow customers are super rude. People will bring their entire families here, just so they can all snack on samples. Parents rarely have a hold of their kids, who really need to be taught manners in the sample lines. People will block access to certain items and are completely oblivious to other people that are also trying to shop. If you are pregnant, good luck not getting people to bump into you or respect your personal space. The parking lot is terrible to walk across -- my family is almost mowed down by other drivers each time we visit. This Costco has the biggest selection of organic products in the Triangle, but they still lack in the organic vegetable and fruit department (BJ's has more). It's really easy to blow $300+ when you are shopping for your family -- especially when items in bulk are so cheap. The food at the food court is so cheap and delicious. I got a slice of supreme pizza and my husband got a chicken wrap -- all for under $6. My pizza slice was 'aight -- definitely not as big as I expected -- and I think the calorie count of 700+ on the menu was off. I was super jealous of my husband's chicken wrap -- it was HUGE! It was a long, toasted roll, stuffed with creamy chicken and cheese. Definitely getting next time. read more

Costco is a merchandise/food warehouse. It is what it is. Don't expect their staff to be knowledgeable about any product. You have to be an informed shopper. Non-members can't just walk in, the store is not open to the general public. We are retired, empty nesters who like most of the Kirkland products and so does Consumer Reports. True, most items are in larger quantities than you would typically buy at a grocery store but we handle it. Produce is better than most grocery stores. Meats, when we buy, we repackage and freeze at home. Frozen seafood and chicken are our go to proteins. I would estimate that 95% of our purchases are non-merchandise. read more

I have frequented this location since it opened and shop here once a week. Loved Costco in the beginning and thought that they had excellent staff! The last three times I've been in I have had very abrupt and rude cashiers who can't wait to swiftly move me through their lines. No small talk no "how you doing today" just all business. Katherine was horrible to me today and now I can't get anyone on the phone to file my complaint. Two weeks ago I waited in a long line for my favorite hot dog deal and was horrified to witness the concession employee screaming at the customers in line saying "we have two lines people pick a side". It is huge and has a very large, comprehensive selection of all sorts of items, from groceries to electronics, to health products, to groceries, to seafood, to poultry, to baked goods, to clothing, to house plants, to snacks, to frozen foods, to kitchen and home products, to furniture to grills to washing machines to couches to refrigerators to kid's playgrounds - everything. They also have their own optometry/optical office, photo services, auto services, insurance services, home improvement services, a pharmacy, their own food court, and much more. Furthermore, Costco has its own gas station - this is a go-to gas station that is always busy. I have gotten so many great things from Costco, including all types of foods, appliances, electronics, clothing, and eyeglass frames and contacts. They are also known for selling many things in bulk. Overall, Costco is clean, comprehensive, organized, welcoming; and the staff are warm and friendly. I would definitely recommend shopping at Costco!!! read more

Costco as a whole is a great place to shop for bulk items. However there is so much you have to tolerate in order to shop at Costco. I'm sure a lot of this is to be expected, but that doesn't change how I feel about it. To begin with, the parking lot is a nightmare. Cars, people, carts; you name it, you're bound to almost hit something trying to maneuver your way to a parking spot. Have I mentioned the people? They're EVERYWHERE!!! And they're all pushing these huge carts over flowing with items that obstruct their vision. However, prices can't be beat! They always have some awesome deals. Along with great prices, they have the best samples! It's always a treat shopping there because they are always sampling some good food. And can I say that their sampling does work! This looks to be your typical Costco and typical peeves to go along with it. There's everything you could possibly need choose from so that is a plus. Though it does agitate me that I have to show my membership card just to walk through the door when I don't have to at BJ's and Sam's Club. It's a waste of time for me as a customer but I do understand that it probably helps with have people dawdling around not buying anything or stealing, which brings me to my next point. There's always so many more people at Costco than at other big box stores and that is not so nice for me. Yes checking for member cards at the door will help keep non customers from dawdling around but that does not help with the actual members that walk around like zombies with the sole purpose of blocking people from getting by who just want to actual shop. It is ridiculous how many people will stand in your way on their phone with not a single item in their basket and pretend to be completely oblivious of them being a waste of space. Now my last problemo. Having to deal with insane people in the parking lot possibly takes the cake. I see people just crazily driving through parking spaces to get to the next lane and almost run into me and anyone else who unfortunately are driving like normal people. For the people to walk around like zombies they sure do drive erratically. I understand that Costco can't control all of these things but this is the experience I have had on more than one occasion. I was excited to finally shop at Costco. I was overjoyed that they finally took Visa and had just opened a location convenient for me. I am definitely disappointed. 1. The store hours. BJ's and Sams Club open earlier. I drop off the children at school and then have to find something to do for 45 minutes until Costco opens. I am a busy woman and every minute counts (especially when the kids are in school). 2. I feel like the other clubs have a better flow to them or maybe it's just that the people are more considerate. Whole families seem to get together to shop and the kids are running here and there, one will wander/window shop while the others have endless discussions while walking a snails pace. 3. They don't carry Pamper's brand, small tubes of cream cheese (only the big blocks)...lets just say I feel the selection is much more limited than the other clubs. 4. SAMPLES! I think people lose heir minds when they see a sample cart. Everyone just stops and blocks the isle. Some leave their carts right in the middle of the isle while they fight their way to the little, tiny bit of free food. It makes those buying the food twang to leave and go somewhere else. 5. Lines...ridiculously long. That is all I can think of for now. If they had opened earlier I wouldn't have had the time to write this negative review...something to think about, Costco. read more
