I've always been an avid Publix shopper, I feel that their prices are better than other supermarkets nearby. This is my new local Publix and even though I have to drive further to get here as compared to places like Harris Teeter or Walmart, it's worth it! I've even converted my mother, who used to never consider Publix, to a consistent shopper. This Publix is well organized, bright and clean. I am able to get in and out fairly quickly because of this, They also have self checkout, which wasn't available at my local Publix in Atlanta. It's an efficiency win for me! I'm also a big fan of the Pub-subs, and like other Publix stores, this one does a good sub. They even have a designated eating area in this Publix, something I haven't seen before! I will still need to give their hot bar food a try. It's a bit tougher because their ready to eat options are limited, but I'm here enough, so it will happen eventually! read more

Pay attention sun shops....this is how you do a great sub! I always check to see which sub is on special when I come to Publix. The fresh bread and good quality meats and fresh veggies make a super good sub. The variety of toppings is great and the choices of breads are too. Most of the employees in this deli are friendly and efficient. On this day there was a new girl I had not seen before. When she went to make my sub she found there was no more meat cut. It was in the afternoon around 4:00 so I am sure there would be lots of folks coming in for the special around dinner time. She acted so annoyed that she had to go cut some meat. I noticed she cut only enough for my sub. Hope she went back and cut more after I left!?!?? No apology for the wait, etc. not friendly at all and mad because the meat wasn't cut... Food would be a 5 star...deducted one for her acting like it was my fault she had to cut meat...asked for the sub sauce and got oil and vinegar instead and I saw some sitting there. As someone from Southern California, Publix was a whole new experience of grocery shopping. I would say our equivalent of a Publix are Vons, Ralph's, or Albertsons but they're not on the same level as Publix. The aisles are wide, the store is well-kept, and the staff are quite friendly! I was very impressed by their deli and bakery sections! The highlight of this review comes from the bakery section. The mini mango key lime pie was incredibly delicious. I picked it up on the whim and it has been one of the best decisions I've made in 2021 (granted it's been less than a week into 2021). But seriously, if there are one of those pies available - grab one! You won't regret it. read more

Just horrible. Wasted time and energy and increased my stress level dealing with Olivia. She needs to be fired. Keeps condescendingly telling me she wants to help but does the opposite. Out of state visiting lost my prescription. Need like 3 pills until I can get them from back home. Won't sell or give me them. It's for my thyroid nothing out there and nothing expensive even though I said I will pay cash and prove inhave a prescription. Nope. And won't even tell me how much it would cost. Meanwhile the store manager Scot is standing there behind me watching everything but not intervening and I didn't even know he was there until I turned around to leave. Prices are very high compared to other stores but giving 3 stars instead of 2 for good customer service at the service desk but usually get ignored like the plague at self-checkout which is sad but I try and not take it personally since I am probably not the only one ignored. They really need to train SCO cashiers in providing excellent customer service at this Publix. Also love the pharmacy and the service from Lee. Will come back to this Publix mainly because of the pharmacy and not the store shopping experience. My suggestion is to avoid the self checkout unless you feel good being treated poorly. read more

This store is unfortunately very inconsistent with customer service. Since we live close by, we go to this store at least a few times a month, but the service has been hit or miss. Many times it's hard to find someone in a department when you need them. If you do find someone, they're either really helpful or can't give you an answer. Whenever I walk through the store and am looking for something, no one ever stops to greet me or offer help. When the store first opened everyone would greet you, but those days are long gone. Many times the employees are talking to each other instead. Half the time the cashier doesn't greet me or really even say anything when I check out, and the other half of the time the checkout is friendly and someone offers us help to the car. With such inconsistent service, I usually reserve trips to Publix for when I want to quickly grab just a few items. The prices are high at Publix so I'd expect better service or more premium products. I did hear good things about their cakes so I thought I would give them a try for my daughter's birthday cake. There was never anyone at the party planning desk when I went to the store, so after a four trips and no luck I eventually ordered the cake online. I called in a balloon order as well. The balloons and cake were beautiful and ready on time. The cake was delicious. The balloons continue to be a favorite with my daughter. She enjoys the free balloon given at customer service, and we'll occasionally get Mylar balloons with her favorite characters as well. When you shop with your young child, ask for a free balloon at the customer service desk. The other family favorite at this store is the smoked Gouda macaroni and cheese (fresh from the deli area). We can't get enough of it. The deli area has other tasty hot food selections and serves Boars Head products. read more

I went to Publix to grab some items for my son's and I picnic. I knew that I wanted to go to Publix because I heard their deli sandwich was amazing and they have boars head meat. The grocery store is situated inside of a shopping center so there was plenty of parking! They parking lot was very clean and easy to maneuver. When I first walked in I was greeted by the flower shop which had some really beautiful flowers. They also had a lady there handing out samples for chicken salad and it was delicious. I almost bought it but I had to remember what I was there for. Haha! The lady in the deli was really sweet and made sure that she was doing everything just the way that I asked. She even offered me a sample and it was delicious. I chose the honey turkey! I also picked up some other items, the store was well organized because I hadn't been there before I didn't know my way around but I was able to find everything. This store doesn't do discount cards because they feel their prices are fair. I did self check. Because it was Mother's Day they were handing out roses which I thought was sweet. Pharmacy kept my son waiting in pain for hours, even after they said it would be ready at 5 pm. He has a shattered elbow, and they completely ignored him as we waited another 45 minutes. What makes one grocery better than another? In the end it's freshness, variety, the ease of finding what you're looking for, and, perhaps above all, customer service and employee attitude. We shop for groceries all over the Triangle and I must say that no place compares with Publix. Unlike Whole Foods¹, it's virtually impossible to find an out-of-date product in the dairy department or those other departments in which the sell-by date is crucial. The staff seem to be able to anticipate questions or needs. And they are, quite simply, the nicest and smartest people I've ever encountered either behind a counter or in the aisles. The deli area, or whatever the proper term is for the place where you order prepared food to carry out, is a joy. Not once have I seen that patina of oxidation that is all too common at virtually every comparable area at Sprouts, Whole Foods and even, though less often, at Fresh Market. We drive 20 to 30 minutes to get to a Publix. My only complaint is that they are not yet in Chapel Hill. Perhaps they are ceding this territory to Wegman's‽ ¹ At Whole Foods I have to admit that I sometimes make a kind of sport of pulling a bunch of expired dairy and prepackaged fruit products and taking them to the manager's desk. Their website is terrible! We made a special trip here to get something that showed it was available in store, even showing what isle it was available in, to have it not be there! I was told the website takes days to be updated, then also that it could have not been produced for a long time. So either way, they didn't have it, and their website is useless. Very frustrating! Very little price signage, unless items are on sale. There are so many other grocery stores in the area. This one can be skipped. Generally high prices too. read more

Shortly after the Publix and Bradford opened I posted a review talking about how awesome this store was and how great the customer service was. I would bet there was a change in the leadership team between then and now. I have to say they are no longer my favorite store. Many of the employees are awesome but in speaking with them and airing my frustrations with the store you can tell they are equally as frustrated. The deli is an absolute joke. I told the deli manager that if the rest of the store ran like his department the store would close its doors. I've never seen so many people standing around doing nothing while customers are lined up at the counter. They must be feeling the financial effects of COVID because yesterday I was number 8 in line at the check out. Two lanes open at about 3:00. I've complained at the customer service counter and nothing ever changes. This store needs to wake up, there are 6 competitors within a mile and a half of your door and they would love to decrease your market share! Publix just opened and is a very nice store. It seems to serve the Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's crowd. If there is something special you are looking for + regular groceries, Publix fits the bill. I like the online sub-sandwich ordering ahead of time and all departments stay open till store closing at 10pm. No sub club points though, but their breads and bakery items are made daily on the premise. The bread with the sandwich was very good. The cupcakes are made with butter crème frosting, however, I still favor Goody Box Cupcakes by far still for quality and selection. read more

So nice to be in a familiar grocery in a new place. We love Publix in Florida so I was thrilled to see one near my son's new home. This store seems smaller than the ones in FL but certainly was clean and well stocked. The deli counter was so busy! There were four people waiting in line for the custom made sandwiches, I didn't get one but may put that on my list of things to try because people clearly felt it was worth waiting for at this store. Their produce looked fresh and well stocked. And they have all the basics. The bakery goods looked amazing but post Christmas we are trying to lay off the sweets so as tempting as it was I didn't put anything in my cart. The place to recycle plastic bags is outside but there were three of them and they were larger than at the stores at home. Yay for recycling! I couldn't find tofu or some of the other Asian cooking basics that are readily available in regular stores at home in Indy. And I couldn't find anyone to ask so that why I gave it 4 and not 5 stars. The area in general is very diverse so one would think that the stores would try to stock a wide variety for people. read more

Yes, it's a nice store and it's brand new so very sparkly and shiny. There are many brands I've not seen in other local chains, which is always nice to see. Most of the employees are super nice, but their offer to help carry out even one small bag of groceries for an obvious able bodied person is a bit over the top. I think their prices are in line with Harris Teeter, so no big savings in that regard. They do have two for one offers weekly and their house brands are a good price throughout the store. There's a good variety of ready made salads and such.The deli and bakery looks pretty average. Nothing like what a Wegmans offers (if only!).Produce always looks fresh and quite a big variety. Seems like evenings after eight are a better time to avoid the crowds, which otherwise can get very hectic. read more

Coming from Florida, I know how great the publix chain can be. Heather from the floral department made beautiful flower arrangements for my best friends baby shower. Heather called the day before and let us know that the lavender roses we had ordered actually were pink and not to worry because she will personally make sure that the arrangements will match our party theme. When we got there on Saturday other employees went out of their way to help us get our party supplies which includes the flowers and some snacks and subs from the deli. The customer service was incredible and really lives up to the publix standards. read more

Ok. Everyone loves Publix. I get it. There's a lot to like. For the most part, customer service is very good. Prices are mostly fair. Product selection is ok. It's just...I've had more than one, well, not bad, but annoying experiences here that stacked together have made me appreciate more that there are multiple choices here. 1. Their 'digital' coupons. App is fine. I can add coupons to my account fine. What was completely ridiculous to me is that there was no way to self check out using those coupons without calling an attendant over to manually enter my phone number and do some magic on the screen. Kroger - KROGER!, of all places - is able to automatically deduct the savings from my digital coupons after scanning my Special Person Card at the self check out. And no, I DON'T work for Kroger. So Publix's thing is "No loyalty cards needed!!!" But if it saves me time at the check out and money, I'm all for them. 2. Last week, I approached a man whom I assumed was a manager, as I see him there all the time working the floor and dressed nicely. I asked him if he had a particular product in stock. He replied, "I don't think we do, but let me go check for you," and rushed off. How nice of him, I thought. So I waited. And waited. I stood out of the way in front of an empty check out line so I would be visible but out of the way. And kept waiting. I saw him rushing around different areas of the store. He never made eye contact with me or came back to see if anyone had followed up with me. Ok, I thought, mistakes happen, and he's probably super busy and forgot. I'm ok with that and I fully understand. I went ahead and checked out after about 15 minutes of waiting. 3. I needed to make a return today. I couldn't find my receipt. I bought with a credit card, so I thought, NBD. EVERYWHERE I SHOP simply scans my credit card without a receipt and credits my card. The woman at customer service: "I can give you store credit." I asked her, "You can't check my card and credit back to my card?" She looked at me like I just gave birth to an alien right there. All in all - annoying. Not horrible. Just "Meh. One cashier in particular made me feel feel very uncomfortable while I was checking out even though other customers needed help she continued to watch over like I was going to steal something. I used to love this store and was here a few days a week. Something has changed recently within the last month or two. It took me literally 30 minutes at the deli to get 2 pounds of lunchmeat and two subs. Deli workers just waiting around staring but don't offer to help I had to flag somebody down to help me. Oh and I was the only one in line. Seriously. Don't know what happened but something is off here. So it took them 30 minutes from start to finish to cut the meat and prepare two subs. People wonder why they're making a big deal out of a new Publix opening up in the Triangle. Simply put they are offer a better experience in the store than the competitors like HT & FL. I mean really the customer service is night and day between Publix and the HT stores around the area where customer service can vary greatly between the stores (and why do they need so many of them). The BOGO's, better store layout, easier checkout (self checkout moves pretty quick here) and more pleasant vibe make it worth driving an extra few miles for me to bypass the grocery store options by me to shop at Publix. read more

I'm so beyond happy that publix is beginning to open stores in NC!!! As a native Floridian who moved to NC six years ago, i've been extremely underwhelmed with the grocery stores NC has to offer. I visited this store a week after their grand opening (hoping it wouldn't be as crowded), and while it was still extremely busy (to be fair I went late in the afternoon on a Sunday) I was thoroughly impressed! Prices are similar to those at Harris teeter (and as another reviewer mentioned, you don't need a VIP card to get the discounts). The store is extremely clean and organized, and despite the fact that they were VERY busy, they weren't out of any items that I needed. You can even order subs online and pick them up in the store. They bake their bread fresh and use all Boar's Head meats for their subs. Their fried chicken is some of the best I've had, and don't even get me started on the prepared deli sides and delicious baked goods (the buttercream frosting is the stuff dreams are made of). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! When I shop at Lowes or Harris Teeter, I'm lucky if I even have someone available to help bag my items after spending hundreds of dollars on groceries... but at Publix, they actually designate staff to help unload your cart at the cash register, in addition to staffing multiple cashiers and baggers (who always offer to assist you to your car with your groceries). In my opinion, Publix blows other local grocery stores out of the water, especially when it comes to customer service! Publix really is a place where shopping is a pleasure. read more

This brand new Publix in Cary nothing short of awesome. Florida native here and let me tell you something - nothing beats a Publix sub. So happy that the only Publix here in the Triangle is less than 5 minutes away from me. The store itself is brand new, clean, and well organized. Everyone I encountered in the store were super friendly and helpful. There's an amazing deli, prepared foods, and bakery section here, which include tons of entrees and sides you can purchase by weight as well as all the delicious bakery treats that Publix is known for. They even had guava and cheese pastries, which I haven't seen in NC outside of BJ's! In terms of prices, they are very competitive. Cheaper than Harris Teeter, but for the same quality of goods. They have amazing BOGO sales and that's what you're really after when shopping here. Service is also impeccable, the bagger literally insisted on walking me out to my car (which I'm sure is just because the store is still new and they're still building a brand - but an awesome gesture nonetheless.) This is why I shop at Publix: Went to go drop off my RedBox video and baby fell asleep in the car, well, I couldn't get out of the car so what was I to do!? Well, luckily, this kind service person named Madelyn (hope I'm spelling her name right) was there collecting carts outside the store so I asked if she would be so kind as help me return my movie for me....she said she was more than happy to! :) Thank God there are good, kind people like Madelyn working at Publix that will go above and beyond. As I was reading the reviews I noticed a lot of fellow Floridians are just as pleased as I am to have a Publix in the Raleigh area. I live in North Raleigh, so it's a bit of a drive for me but it's worth every minute! Made the drive out today because my hubby wanted some hot & spicy chicken wings. I swear they are the best chicken wings ever. Breaded or naked. You can't go wrong. Pub subs are the bomb and so is everything in their bakery. This location has an olive bar, specialty cheese section, a great produce section and meat department. Everything is so nice and clean! Customer service is on point at Publix. I just wish I lived closer because the 40 minute drive just isn't doable all of the time. -_- read more

As a born and raised Floridian who now lives in NC, I miss Publix so much and was ridiculously excited when I heard one was opening. It takes me 30-40 minutes to drive to this location, but every once in a while it's a special treat. The Publix in-house bakery can't be beat (Italian five grain bread for the win!). Great BOGO deals every week. Friendly and helpful employees. Really, what more could you want? Yes, the prices are a bit higher than a Food Lion, but you get what you pay for. I grew up in Florida so I'm glad to see Publix open in the RDU area. As others have mentioned, the subs are simply the best. I'm an oddball who isn't all that excited by boars head but I think the publix meat and cheeses are delish. And you save a few bucks going that direction. They will make you a sub out of anything in their deli. You are not limited by the menu. The sub bread is simply the best on the planet. This location (Cary) has a small dining room next to the deli if you want to escape the office. ;-) Oh yea and it's a wonderful grocery store too. ;-) read more

I have been here twice first time was a 5 star visit second time not so much on first visit help to my car with groceries was nearly automatic and everyone was very friendly on my second visit as I am push my cart with one hand and using a cane with other hand an employee asked if I needed help as I am leaving and since I am handicapped I noticed they only have 6 handicap parking spots which were full on a Tuesday afternoon around 330 so I had to park a long way from entrance and as I was walking again with one hand pushing cart and one hand with a cane I passed by a store employee who was so busy with her conversation with a customer she never acknowledged me as I walked past her first with my groceries and then I walked past her a second time to park my grocery cart I am afraid that exemplary customer service may already be lost read more

Have shopped at this Publix several times. Love the Cuban sandwiches, Tabanaro hot sauce which I can only find at Publix. This Publix does not have a large bakery, very limited baked goods. Like Florida Publix better. read more
