I have never yelp'd before. I called to ask the optometry department a question regarding buying contacts through Costco. The man who answered (wish I got his name) was rude, cut me off and had zero personal skills. I am not a member . I asked if there was a way I could get a day pass (BJS offers this) my response was NOPE. I said really that stinks are you sure? Response was NOPE I don't think so. Well clearly you lost business because had you asked someone for a definite answer I would have come down today to order contacts. I've been a member for at least 5 years but before since I used to live in Quincy, I used to go to Cisco occasionally and was fine I used to like the fresh fruit and vegetables. Now when I lived to Westwood I've been always shopping there. Not anymore of course. I donno if all Cisco wholesale are that bad in costumer service but the employees over there are irresponsible and not respectful at all. They have the worth supervisor who talk with us in altitude and was so rude. And it's not the first time I feel so mad. He was yelling on my old dad who doesn't speak English and when I came to see what's happening he was so rude and unprofessional at all. The Dedham Costco store is terrible for customers; rude plus uncaring. After member's card expires 6/30/15 without notice to member, we insist mail never received, we were sent away without our order. Pay membership and no discussion or out you go. So Goodbye COSTCO &"hello " to BJs and Wegmanns, and the kindness of our other Dedham groceries! Super disappointed over the past 6 months. I have called a few times to see if I could speak to a person who is a "Buyer" but they have not been very helpful. The products seem to be sub par. Chinet Paper plates fall part. Glide Dental floss breaks the minute you use it. If you buy any clothing article with a zipper the zipper breaks at first wash. It is not a savings when I buy in large quantity and I have to return it. I think the buyers and supply chain need to pay more attention to quality. Thank you. read more

They have decent food at the food court that is all pretty much under ten dollars. You can get in to get food without a membership. You cannot buy groceries without a membership, and there is a person who checks at the door. They also don't let you borrow someone's card without them being there. read more

This review is for Costco online purchases of a casket/coffin, so not specific to the store in Dedham. DO NOT EVER ORDER A COFFIN THROUGH COSTCO! UniversalCasket Company is actually the responsible party but I will make sure Costco management knows what a horrible, unprofessional outfit they are. My father loved to shop at Costco and one of the few details he had worked out before he departed was choosing his casket online at Costco :) No one appreciated a good deal more than he did so he did all his research, explained to us what to do and that was that. Well, that was not that in fact. When calling in advance, the woman on the phone at UCC was very helpful but she was an entirely different person when I called back after placing my order. It seems once they had my $$ they were not interested in being helpful. While you are not required by law to receive the delivery at the funeral home, the funeral home recommended it (which I agreed with) to ensure it was what I ordered and was not damaged. After numerous phone calls asking for an ETA of the expedited delivery I paid for, the best they could give me was a 3 hour window. Apparently their 'shipping company' was private and could not talk on cell phones to notify me when they were close. So after waiting for 3 hours in the funeral home parking lot, all while trying to manage the grief from the loss of my father just days prior, the 'shipping company' arrived. A 19 year old kid with the single casket in the back of his Dodge Durango, talking on his cell phone as he arrived. He had no idea what he was doing, did not have the tools or manpower to lift the coffin himself, nor the key to open it for my inspection. This was an enormous burden added to a very difficult time and please, please take my advice. NEVER order a casket through this company. Focus on the more important things and people/funeral homes that will actually take care of this for you. read more

Yay! I'm a fan. Of Costco, that is. When anyone comes over to our house and asks where we got a particular ottoman or some tasty snack, 90% of the time the answer is... Costco! We shop here almost every weekend and also get our gas here because it's so cheap. I took one star off because it can be hard to maneuver the checkout lines (mostly because of the customers not lining up properly to let space around them). Sometimes it can be insane trying to check out, especially if you're in the self checkout lines. I've witnessed some ridiculously obnoxious and rude customers in these lines on a few occasions. If you want to just buy a pineapple on a weekend afternoon during peak hours, you just have to deal with long lines! Don't be mean to others for no reason when they ask you whether the cart that is blocking the way for everyone is yours. Sheesh. Tip: The non-self checkout lines always seem way longer, but they move pretty fast since you don't have to wait behind someone having issues and waiting for help with the self checkout. I have been a Costco member for over 15 years . I shop weekly at the Dedham Costco. The main store is good, but the tire shop front desk appears to have a chronic problem of treating customers rudely. I know of at least two incidences of this, once around 3 pm on Nov. 5th, 2011 and the other around 10 am on Nov. 13, 2011. Just to let you in a little known secret. You do not need to be a member of Costco to buy at their liquor department. The Costco in Dedham carries many top name brands for a lot less than anywhere in town or Mass.. The beer especially Corona are rock bottom low prices. The liquor store is a private owner but we shop around and their prices are the same or better than the other Costco stores. We figured out that we saved at least $200 on our fine wines!! This is the first time Ive reviewed anything, but Jo deserves a special shout out. I went to the service desk to remove an ex from my membership. Life or death? Not really, but we got to talking about how dangerous this particular ex is (I didn't know everything that was going on when we were together, and I certainly never anticipated I'd have mounds of police reports for issues after I left). Jo wasn't able to do the removal that day because I just renewed my membership and it didn't show in the system for 24 hrs. She took my number and called me the next day to verify this person was removed from my membership. I thought it was amazing that she made a special effort to call and let me know everything was "okay". read more

Terrible service!! Got four new tires 6 months ago and went back today for a tire rotation. While they were working on the car i got a phone call to stop by because they had an issue. Got there, and a guy named Fred mentioned that one of the studs was cross threaded and that i needed to take it to the shop to replace the stud and the tire bolt. I told them the tires have not been removed since i was there last time, so even if they were not put in place correctly it would have been them since the last time the tiers where removed was from them. He started saying that their work procedure is perfect and it would not have been possible that the damage took place there. He refused to take responsibility for that and said that it might have happened where i get my oil change, even though they never take the tires off for an oil change. They placed back only four bolts and handed me the damaged one, and said that i need to replace it, and i have to drive away with only four bolts. When i got home i noticed that one of the four tire bolts was smaller then the original 3. Went back to the shop and asked them if they used the same socket size when they removed my original tire bolts. Fred went back to ask and came back with an answer that the four original bolts were bad and they put different ones for all four of them. I showed him that 3 of the bolts installed were the original ones and only one was replaced with a smaller one. Then the guy who installed the tiers came by( believe his name was Franciscco) and said he replaced only one because it was damaged and he put on a smaller bolt. I asked them if i was supposed to be notified for this before i left the place. He said they made me a favor by giving me a free smaller bolt and that i was supposed to be charged for the bolt. I asked Fred for his name and the manager name and information, refused to provide me the information at first, then noticed that i read his name tag and gave me the information and the name of the manager who is supposed to be Mark, i asked for his contact information and Fred gave me the store number as if it was Marks number. Then they both continued saying that they did me a favor by taking my car because i wasn't a member and that i should't complain. My brother has a membership card and we live both in the same household and use the same card and he was present with me today. They didn't refuse to sell the tiers and the services when i went there and paid $700 to get my tiers 6 months ago, now that they messed up my car they were saying they did me a favor even though i never asked for one. Really bad service, hope i get reimbursed for the damage made to my car. read more

As others have said, the liquor store does NOT contain Costco prices and doesn't carry the same standard that Costco does (it's unfortunate that the only way to rate the liquor store is by rating Costco as well, but for what it's worth, Costco generally is awesome). Overall, I'm a fan of Costco's. They have many goods my wife and I enjoy shopping for. The only downers are that the method of payment is very limited and that the vendors available through them aren't as good as Costco. Tried getting a quote for a new Lennox HVAC system and the contractor said it would take a day or so to get one. Well, weeks later, still no quote. I've been to this Costco like a year now, it's all been good until today. Well, I order a combo pizza at the pizza department, the guy who do our pizza didn't give us a receipt, which is fine in the last couple time, but today 30 mins after the order, there is another guy, I asked him to pick up my pizza, and he asked for the receipt. I said the guy do our pizza didn't issue one. So he was like nothing he can do about it. The pizza is right beside him and he didn't even check with his coworker, that's so rude and so unprofessional. He told us to wait for the guy to come back to claim the pizza. But it seems like the guy has already gone, Total BS. This guy is medium size 6', dark. The service at the liquor store at Costco is extremely poor. They do not care about helping customers, they are very unpleasant, vulgar, and are unsuitable for the job. This does not account for every employee, but the employee at the register and others helping were very rude, aggressive, did not uphold temper when I asked simple questions about their procedure of selling alcohol. The whole experience was offensive. Workers like that can ruin somebody's day and the whole Costco experience even in the store itself. read more

Yesterday they had tons of Goodyear windshield wiper blades in every size from 18" to 28" EXCEPT 26", which is what my driver's side wiper requires. They even had additional supply in boxes behind the open display material, but no 26" blades. BUMMER! Who takes inventory down there? read more

extremly bad service. don't go over there unless there is no other place you can shop. they take for credit card only american express and if you don't have you have to pay cash or? be very careful using your checks over there. this what happened to us and we got humiliated by one of their supervisor. after we spent, my husband and myself at least an hour shopping over there, we got to the cashier and we wrote a check for two hundred and forty six dollars, the cashier paged the supervisor to approve the check ( the account in under both our names, my husband and I and we opened that account befor we got married so it has his address on it) and it happened that I wrote the check so I gave them my driver license so the supervisor said very rudly :I can not accept this check . I have 3 addresses in here????!!!! than she wrote void on the check and she turned to the cashier, who was far more professional and far more efficient and started yelling at him for accepting the check????? do these people have any managers? or they just act on discimenatery bases on according to their mood? anyway if you want to save yourself a humilition down the road try not to go there read more
