I used to go to Costco all the time with my mom. She'd let us use her membership and would pay for whatever we needed. It was great. And then she started to hold it against us, even though she would always say, "get whatever you want." So when Costco came out proclaiming that they were going to keep their DEI practices in place, Jeremy and I got our own membership. DEI represents groups that are historically underrepresented or marginalized, including those based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, national origin, and veteran status. So, to me, any corporation who wants to be against looking out for any of those people can suck it. We usually shop at the Costco on Pulaski Highway in Baltimore County, but we were trying to fill some time before an appointment and decided to tuck in here to get a super cool Lego Japanese maple tree set for a friend for xmas. I like that if I find a product at one Costco it's probably going to be available at all Costcos. And while we weren't there for groceries, I also like buying my meats at Costco. We can make those big packages stretch for months sometimes and there's something comforting about knowing you have something for dinner for a while and don't have to give a lot of thought to it. I do recommend breaking down your meat into appropriate serving sizes before you freeze them. You can get one of those vacuum sealers to keep things from getting freezer burn, but a plastic zip bag will do in a pinch. One of the bad things about Costco is that they don't accept all forms of payment. They'll accept food stamps (they sell milk) but some credit cards won't be accepted. Also, because there's a membership fee (I think its like $50-60), Costco isn't an option for everybody, and I don't really like that kind of elitist nonsense. I feel like the people who can't afford the membership would be the type of people who would benefit the most from buying in bulk to save money. I like Costco. This place is a well oiled machine. You badge in and then roam. I dig the flourescent lighting and how clean it is in there. Sometimes items are in the wrong place, but it's very neat and orderly, which I love. Plus, Costco just has cool stuff, lol. It's mostly food for me - the different refrigerated and frozen foods I can't find elsewhere have me in a chokehold. The snack options are vast and diverse. Then, checkout can be a breeze - if you are paying with card, you can self checkout, which is nice and makes for a fast process. The cash lines don't seem bad, and move quickly from what I've observed. There weren't a wealth of food samples out last time I visited, otherwise there's not much to dislike. read more

First time back at this Costco in many years. Nice associates who work to get you out quickly and are friendly. It was a July, Wednesday, around noon, but the long lines made it feel like a weekend, especially to leave the store. There were long lines everywhere - customer service, pharmacy, check out, and like I already said, exiting. Long lines are not my reason for the review though. It's the lack of organization that got me. So weird seeing some boxes of peaches in the snack aisle, bakery items on an end cap for socks and underwear. Worst was the women's clothes. Women get 5 rows for their clothes while the men get 10. If you're lucky, you will find another 2 rows of women's clothes at the far end on the other side of the department, up one aisle, at the end of the men's area. If you're REALLY lucky, someone will tell you (or perhaps you will have noticed) there's another row at the front where you walk in (behind the men's row, which is why I missed it). So, men: 10 rows of clothes all together + one row upfront facing the front door; Women: 5 rows of clothes together + 2 rows on the far end of the department in a different aisle + one row upfront behind men's clothes. And even within the rows of women's clothes, it was disorganized - pajamas were on the outside row of the women's area and then in another section four rows away. Shorts were mixed in with jackets and long pants on every single row. Very strange. I think management of this store needs help to organize better and reduce the lines. read more

The self-checkout line does move along, as most patrons seem to prefer the cashier line. We were able to grab some last-minute stock-up items to go, and the place was well-stocked. I love Costco so it almost feels weird to give it only three stars. But the service/the employees were so unnecessarily extremely rude. I have a service dog legally, and I have never in my entire life. Had any issues with anyone bringing my dog. now I understand there's food. It's a bustling store, but really the woman was so rude about asking all of these questions. Some of which she legally was not allowed to ask me before allowing me into the store. on top of that, there wasn't the greatest election of any Costco I've seen and everyone was just really rude . I would definitely go out of my way and drive to a different Costco over this one. read more

This Costco usually have everything I need and are pretty well stocked. They also have big sales on both men, women, and kids clothing. Some items go as low as $3 even. They have a self checkout line so the lines do go a little faster. They have ample parking and a gas station as well. My only negative would be the limited seating and space in the food court and the lack of samples. read more

So I went Costco earlier today and I purchased a set of small bowls. When I got home and checked the bowls one of the bowls was chipped. I went back to Costco to return them or exchange them so of course I couldn't get an even exchange I had to return them and repurchase them with a gift card that they gave me. Once I went back out and got the bowls I returned to customer service only to find out that I could not pay for the bowl there. So ask the line was wrapped around the store I had to go stand at the end of the line just to purchase one item. And there was no one in customer service. I understand that you can't make a lot of purchases at customer service however I felt like since I was only exchanging the bowls I should have been able to pay for them with the gift card that they gave me there at customer service. I stood in the line for almost 30 minutes. I say all this to say that customer service should be a little bit better when it comes to returns and exchanges and not make the customer stand in line an even exchange. read more

July 7, 2025 - I had just finished shopping and pulled over to move some carts before getting in line to exit the facility. A male with gray hair, a polo shirt, and khaki shorts angled himself to cut in front of me. So I backed off and said, "You're more important, go ahead." He said (with an elevated voice), "I was next to you, I didn't know you were waiting." I said, "You angled yourself so you could cut in front of me." He said (with more of an elevated voice "I DIDN'T SEE YOU." It's interesting that he just said he was standing next to me. People started to stare. I didn't care, but if I hadn't calmed him down, I would have gotten kicked out. So in a VERY VERY sarcastic way, I said "You're right, I'm wrong" He said "Damn Right". There's nothing but good things to share about this Costco.  This location has ample parking, always stays fully stocked with everything under the sun. Also, one added plus..... this Costco is usually empty during the weekdays.  The weekends, on the other hand, can be a bit crowded if you are a shopper that is in a rush.  In either case, the lines and checkout move fast. From fresh baked goods, prime cuts & meats, seafood....great deals on electronics.....to all your main home staple needs.....this place has it all.  There is even an Tire Service and Optical Eye Care Center at this location, where I find it very convenient and easy to purchase eye-wear/contacts well below market price.  Add all of this together.....and a gas station where you can fill-up on discounted gas.....what more could you want!? Get a membership and try this place out....you won't regret it.  It's totally worth it....whether you have a large family or single.  The prices are great and the membership pays for itself. read more

As a whole the store employees are great. The pharmacy crew is amazing. However twice I had a poor, if not bad, experience with the food court. Once I ordered a pizza over the phone. It was supposed to be ready by 5:30. I arrived at 5:15 picked up a few items and headed to the food court. My pizza was not ready and I was told they were running behind. I agreed to wait. But took my items to my car. When I returned I was not allowed to go back in scone it was near closing time. The last time disaster hit, the counter clerk gave me a hotdog which fell on the floor due to a defective bag. Another customer told me that it had just happened to them. and that they would remake it. I returned to the counter only to be ignored for 12 mins. By the clerk, hot dog and bag sitting on the counter. I left the store. read more

I've been coming to this location since I moved to MD last year, the workers here are always nasty. Today I decided to go to the bathroom first before shopping. I went inside through the exit door, as that's the door that leads to the bathrooms. The Karen at the door panicked and began yelling "SIR!! SIR!!.. YOU CAN'T COME IN THROUGH HERE, YOU NEED TO USE THE OTHER DOOR!!! .. SIR!!! SIR!!!" as if I had robbed a bank. I ignored her, no time for this BS. I could then hear her alert her management team on her radio providing a full description of what I was wearing and the direction I was walking, as if I was a criminal. I've been a Costco member for 20 years, don't need to be screamed at for trying to use the bathroom before I shop. I've read the other reviews of other customers who've had similar experiences with the employees here. Looks like a company culture problem that is exclusive to this location as I don't have bad experiences at other Costco stores. Management here needs to be trained, or fired. In addition, this Costco location looks like it was built in the 1960's. An old and ugly building, inside and out. What's irritating also, most times they have no carts available. Customers need to return to the parking lot to go find one. Since I live equidistant to the Laurel location, I've decided today was my last visit to this rotten place. Even the nearby Wal-Mart has better service and is more hospitable than this location. Good riddance. read more

The isles were larger than many I've been in, so there's decent space to pass people. The selection of everything in here is great. They have so many different kinds of ethnic food, and it's all so reasonably priced. The workers tend to be quite friendly as well, and always have tasty samples to hand out. They have a great selection of household items, especially when it comes to refreshing body washes & shampoo that you can't find at Giant or Safeway. As a vegetarian, love the fact that they sell Beyond Burgers (and several other plant-based products) in bulk, and this Costco has a great number of healthy food items in general as well. read more

Bottom Line: A warehouse discount store with quality products and friendly employees. I've been a Costco member for about 17 years and although I don't go religiously, I don't think I would ever be able to give up my membership! This location is a good 20 minutes from my house but if it was closer I am sure I would go more. I think the draw for many people to warehouse stores is the ability to buy in bulk and save. Since my household is just two people there are not many items that I want to buy in bulk so I primarily have a Costco membership to have access to certain products. My usual Costco go to items include Starbucks Keurig coffee cups, diet Coke, sparking water, ground turkey, individually packed chicken breasts, ground beef, frozen shrimp, paper towels and toilet paper. But of course I often get a few snacks like Belvita bars, pistachios and such. On an ideal day I wonder the aisles at Costco checking out other goodies like puzzles, clothing, household items and seasonal stuff. A lot of items rotate in-and-out so you better get it while its hot or it won't be there when you come back for it. In addition to shopping at Costco for day-to-day stuff, I also appreciate having access to Costco when I'm shopping for pricey items like TVs and appliances. I use to get excited about the food court/concession stand/snack bar. But they switched their sodas over from Coca-Cola products to Pepsi a while back which was huge disappointment to me. Oh, how I use to love sipping a diet Coke while strolling the aisles. Kudos to how this Costco has dealt with operating during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are doing a great job by offering senior hours, sanitizing carts, managing the crowds and implementing safety measures. This particular location is not as nice feeling as the Arundel Mills location but it is closest to my house, its never crowded and the employees are always friendly. Another down side to Costco is that the membership price is more than twice my BJs membership. read more

Costco on Ordnance Road is due for an updated review. My visit to this store was on June 24th and sheesh. Talk about looooooooong lines. Ever since they canned the extra registers and put in self check out, the checkout process is so backed up. The line to check out was literally all the way to the fruit!!! No lie!!! After checking out, I wanted to pick up my parents some cinnamon twist churro things which was a big mistake. The cluster of shopping carts and people waiting for their food too was a hot mess. Instead of ordering your food with the cashier, you place the order at a kiosk. My honest opinion is that they continuously cook the food to make up for the influx of orders and add an additional 1-2 people working in the back. A good assembly line order to make them operate efficiently so people aren't clustering up the area where people are also trying to leave. They line to exit the store backed up to the bathrooms where one of the cashiers had to yell two lines to exit for only one person checking receipts. Again, hot mess. read more

This was only my second Costco experience, and I thought that overall it was pretty good. I've been told that this Costco isn't too crowded, and I have to say if that is the case it is a bonus. Of course, like every Costco, this place has a ton of stuff at reasonable prices. However, I think the real reason people come to Costco is the free samples. These little munchies are everywhere, and you can scarf them down like Scooby-Doo chomping on a Scooby Snack. My friend swears by Costco with almost cult-like devotion. And it can't be denied that you can find some good deals here, but I think this may throw people into a buying frenzy, a fugue state that finds them purchasing items that they may not need. Popped on over to this Costco for a "let's stock up before finals crush us" graduate student grocery haul with a few friends. Costco runs count as socializing, right? The layout of this Costco is great: easy to follow, clean, and well-stocked. Absolutely no complaints when it comes to product availability, price, or offerings. This Costco has it all! The store was fairly crowded (as reflected by the rather full parking lot), but everyone (customers and staff) were masked. It was a bit difficult at times to social distance, since everyone is walking around every which way. The only reason I wouldn't give this Costco 5/5 stars is because of the customer service. - There were no associates available to help on the floor. - I was having a card issue at the time of check-out (darn contactless payment glitch forced me to pull out my actual card!) and asked the cashier for assistance as the machine was not able to read my card. In fact, I'm not sure what was going on. Her response was that all cards required a pin. She proceeded to scoff, shake her head, and turn away. I was asking her if I could use a different card and she could not seem less bothered to serve me, the customer. Long story short, my friend stepped in to help me resolve the issue. - At the time of checkout, the associate checking my receipt couldn't bother looking me in the eye or using words, just vague gesturing. I would return to this Costco for the products, but certainly not for the customer service. read more

Pharmacy department is so delayed, my doctor sent the RX to them at around 9 AM , at 11 AM still not ready for pick up ! They have over six people working inside , and just simple RX can't ready on time! Be prepared for that if you're used to going to Costco for such things. This is a fine location and it has a gas station. It always seems to have everything I'm looking for, and stuff I wasn't looking for and inevitably buy. I really got to stop doing that. read more

This Costco location has all the regular amenities that a Costco near myself (Leesburg, Sterling), etc.) would have. And I feel a sense of warmth every time I go into a Costco and I leave with a my arms full and a higher CC usage. This Costco did have clothing items not available at the other locations I previously mentioned. But the warehouse itself doesn't carry as much variety of product as the others. I found the grocery sections to be smaller and they do not carry any alcohol purchases (MD law I think). I'm sure it does the people of Glen Burnie right as most Costcos do. My one time stop here was for gas and led to me buying stuff I couldn't find at other locations back home. But as they say, home is where the heart is (for Costco at least). read more

I really don't have anything bad to say about this Costco location. It's in a great location as its south of Baltimore, but not too far out that city residents would feel like it's too far of a drive. The gas station and parking areas never seem as congested as other area Costco's and after the many times I've been here, the staff is always friendly and helpful. I recently had my new eyeglasses done at the optical center here and the process was very quick and efficient. I think the only thing this location needs are self-checkout registers like I've seen in other locations. read more

The tire shop at the Glen Burnie Costco is fabulous. I purchased new tires but had lost the wheel lock key. They directed me to the closest Honda dealer, and Rafie promised that they would take care of me even though I would obviously miss my scheduled appointment. All the staff there were super friendly and helpful. In addition to their great service, the lady at the Costco checking held my cart until I finally returned and could finish shopping. Review is for food court. Had never eaten a hot dog at Costco so decided to treat myself on Feb 15, 2023. Never again (at least at this location). No napkins, no relish, no mustard............all gone and dispenser area filthy!! Hot dog (luke warm) was basically thrown into a brown paper bag. O my! I was at Costco today, during senior hours and it couldn't have gone better! The staff had every move well orchestrated and efficient while being friends and helpful. I was there to pick up a prescription and do some shopping. I had a list, so I had a plan. I arrived @ 0755 (sr hrs are 0800-0900) and was able to go in immediately after a staff member wiped down my shopping cart. I finished, checked out, loaded products, returned cart and in my care by 0839. Thank you, Costco staff! read more
