This review is specific to the optical department at this Costco. Here's the deal, we brought in two pairs of glasses for adjustments. Sidney, our technician was kind and professional. She made quick work of the kids pair and had a battery of tools available to get that pair back into tip top shape. This is handcrafted repair that was provided at no cost (we are Costco members). Here's the five star part. I - ran over - my pair of glasses and was convinced I needed to order a new pair. Sidney took this in stride and told me that she could make them good as new. Definitely was not expecting that! True to her word, I came back a few hours later and they were completely good to go. She even did minor adjustments after I put them on my face to ensure the perfect fit. This level of professionalism, courtesy and competence was unexpected and sincerely appreciated. My wife is a frequent visitor to this Costco, but this was the first time I've been to this one. Parking was easy, and I like that I can show my digital membership card to get it. Very crowed on a Saturday afternoon, but things still seemed to flow. I was impressed at the huge selection of items I don't usually see in stores, especially ethnic food selections. We went through the entire store and wound up buying more than we originally expected. As expected from Costco, prices were good. My only issue came when I went to buy the famous hotdog combo. All payments are at kiosks, which I am fine with, but I had forgotten that Costco only accepts certain types of credit cards. Once I found a card that Costco accepted, I thought I was good, but the kiosk receipt printer was out of paper and give a notice to "wait for cashier". And the food court cashier desk was empty. Since I needed a receipt number to know when my order was ready, I had to be innovative to get my order. But the hot dog tasted good, was amazingly cheap, and I'll know better next time. read more

You cannot beat the price for a large slice of pizza and a coke drink at Costco. Yes, they have Coca Cola which automatically raises the experience. Overall the food is really good and they have a free refill. 4 stars today. I would recommend getting their pizza if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. Get off my lawn rant: I like Costco and we spend a lot of money there. I do not like the new packaging for rotisserie chicken! It's messy as all get out. I understand they want to save money and save the environment. I wish they would have picked a different way to do it. Part of the beauty of the chickens, besides the loss-leader price, was the no muss no fuss nature. That's gone. I do not like the new packaging for nuts! Nuts need to stay sealed and fresh. Ordered tires online from Costco. Very easy, website makes it a very easy process. Put in your license plate number with make and model and it gives you a selection of what tires fit your car. Pick tires and pay for right online. Call them to set up appointment. I ordered one day and the very next day they were on my car. The staff in the tire center are very friendly. This is a smaller store compared to the Dodge location, but it has most of the mainstays you'd expect from Costco. The parking lot is quite small and tight to park around. I like to shop here if I'm just perusing as they have different items marked down here, like garden ornaments and bird baths. Some of the clothing is also extra marked down. How do you review costco? Anyone who has been here knows the deal....it's the best! You will leave here with things you didn't need but some how felt you needed it inside. If you make it out of here without spending $300 you crushed it but you will legit spend $300 and everything you get is worth every penny. Costco is a dream! The amount of stuff that's in here. This location is in La Vista and is less visited than the West Omaha location. Parking is easier at this location, and people tend to be .ore courteous here. Getting in and out of the also is a plus compared to the other Costco. I will probably be coming to this location even though it will add an additional 15 minutes. Made an appointment by phone the previous day with the store's hearing center in Clearwater, FL. I arrived a few minutes early only to be told by a very disrespectful and uninterested clerk at the front desk--"no such appointment exists." Gave him my name and appointment time. Was told again that no such appointment existed, I should make a new appointment as the person I was to see was at lunch and was booked solid for the rest of the day. BUT, if I wanted to wait an "hour or so," he'd try to get me in. Both the clerk and the "specialist" were abrupt, rude, disrespectful, and cared nothing about me, nor the fact that I drove from about an hour distance. All they both kept saying was that they were too busy to answer their phone, nor return phone messages. Another elderly woman came in to get her aids checked, and they both were just as rude to her. This store used to have a "specialist" named Katty who was very customer oriented. Not these two people. Hard to believe that both of these guys still are employed at Costco. read more

I can't compare the store to others because this is the one and only Costco that I've been in. I will admit I like the store layout and all that they have to offer. The only thing that I feel they lack is gifts throughout the year. During the holidays, they have a large selection of gifts but throughout the year I feel like their gifts are far and in between compared to Sam's. I've bought a lot of their food items from there grocery department, and I've loved everything. Their mac & cheese, rotisserie chicken, beef bulgogi, and ravioli are all delicious! I've heard nothing but great things about their street tacos as well. read more

I think this location is great. The employees are friendly and helpful when needed. They are constantly corralling shipping carts for customers. The items and stocked nicely as well. They have the store marked and arranged easily (or as easily as possible with the high volume of traffic this store receives daily). Going to Costco on the day after Christmas, was I totally insane? Would the lines be out of control? I thought I was done for when we planned to visit Costco this afternoon but I was pleasantly surprised. Visiting my Costco on the day after Christmas would be asking to be thrust in a throng and spending hours waiting in line, but not at the La Vista Costco. While there were shoppers, it seemed like a normal day and we were able to get everything we needed. I've noticed that each Costco has different items, for example, the Costcos in Hawaii have chocolate-covered macadamia nuts and this location only had two types of eggs, whereas Costcos in California have 4 types. This location carries fewer types of bread. No Dave's bread or Artisan bread. I'm sure it has to do with the market and what people will buy. Being able to get in and out in about an hour on a Saturday, let alone the day after Christmas was awesome. Will definitely come back here again to stock up. read more

The tire center at this location is woefully mismanaged. We have been buying tires at Costco for years and it has always been a good experience until recently. We have experienced significant delays since the implementation of "appointment only" scheduling. Because of our most recent experience, we will be investigating other options for tire purchases. We were suddenly losing air in a tire. Stopped into Costco and was told the next available appointment was the following day at 6:30 p.m. Or we could wait 90 minutes for "non-appointment" service. We opted for the latter. That 90 minute estimate turned out to be a 3 hour ordeal. During the wait, I checked in often and observed what was happening in the shop area. Based on my observation, 75% of the time, only 2 of the 4 bays were being used. The other 25% only 3 of the 4 bays were being used. The 4th bay was not used during the entire 3 hours. That physical resource utilization rate of approximately 60% explains why we had to wait 3 hours. There were a maximum of 4 technicians working at any given time, with one of them staffing the register/sales counter. This type of experience is not a good look for Costco. read more

It's a Costco, like all the other Costco warehouses of the country. They have cheaper goods, but require membership ($60/yr min). Means the benefit is repeat use. Beyond the mass quantities of lower cost household products, booze, and foods, there's a variety of other goods. Worth prowling. Casual shopping, there, stacks up quickly. I had Cosco membership for many years and then dropped it for the last few years because we didn't feel like we were utilizing it. Since the Lavista one is now easier to access we decided to join again and check out the newest Omaha location. I'll definitely say that it doesn't seem as crazy at this location even at what I consider peak hours like midday Saturday or Sunday. The gas pump is easy to move through not like the Dodge location. Inside you'll find the same ole goodies that Costco always has and this one has a seafood rodeo two weekends out of the month which is when they sell fresh seafood in the stand. I'm glad they opened another location in Omaha the Dodge Street one was getting out of control. read more

Do not buy appliances from COSTCO! They have a horrible policy for delivery and installation of home appliances. We bought an LG dishwasher and they choose a day to deliver and set up an installation with a local company to install. The problem is, they ONLY contract with Urban Installers here in Omaha and the one guy that works there is unreliable. He was supposed to call the night before to se up a time...he didn't; we had to call him. He set us up for 1:00 PM. Well, 4:00 PM rolls around and not a single call and he is still not here. We call him and he says he will be here at 5:30. Well, it is 8:00 PM now and nothing...not even a phone call. We call COSTCO to ask if we can work with a different installer for tomorrow...nope. They ONLY contract with this one guy. Do not buy appliances here unless you can install them yourself or just love being frustrated. Only silver lining - Anna on the phone was awesome. read more

This is for the tire shop. I called and made an appointment for tires. I even discussed tire options and chose tires with John. Went to the store at the appointment time and told tires aren't there. Asked if I purchased them (which I would have if offered when i scheduled the appointment) and he acted as if it was my fault. Wasn't helpful at that point forward. I would have liked to tell him what an jerk he was but chose to just leave and take my business elsewhere. They need a better explanation of their process if you are not reserving the chosen tires when making an appointment and taking the time off work to do do. read more

I've been to this Costco several times now. Its standard for Costco, I do enjoy Costco and think they carry a good supply of products. We recently booked a trip thru Costco Travel which worked great as well. I cannot give 5 stars though as they keep getting rid of products I like and I know that other Costco locations carry other products that I want but this location does not. Very frustrating. I love Costco and you'd almost assume I was being paid off by them by how I rave about their business. I was very surprised to hear a second Costco had opened in the Omaha area since I last lived here so on a whim one day we visited this one instead. I am so glad we did! Why? Well this one is SO much better. Maybe I've just been lucky to get here at nice times, but I have yet to have an issue finding parking which I cannot say about the Dodge location. Their funky parking lot reminds me of the Costco's I've been to in Illinois (Aurora,IL anyone?). Plenty of carts available at the front, including wheelchairs if you needed one of those. The people at the entrances/exits seem nicer too. In fact I dare say just about everyone, with the exception of one cashier, has been nicer at this location. Need to return something? Never a long line in my experience and they don't give you hassle for it; which I appreciate. The store itself is bright and new looking. Never seen it jumbled up or disorganized. The produce selection is fresher also. I don't know if they get trucks more often or if they just cycle through their products quicker, but I very much appreciate my blueberries and bell peppers not being moldy when I go to eat them. Nor does their produce section smell like a rotting dumpster from over ripened fruit products oozing on the ground. They don't seem to have as many sample people here, but the ones they do have are very nice. It's worth noting though they are an outside company and NOT Costco itself, so a rude sample person should not be blamed on Costco itself. Haven't experienced a long line at either food court or checkout. The store is clean AND the bathrooms are clean. Bonus! For the person complaining Costco sucks because they don't always have the same products... well of course not. If you ever see a * symbol on the price tag it's a limited edition item and regular stores (and Sam's Club) does this too. I recommend this Costco, or just about any Costco really. You can save a ton of money on produce, baby stuff ($16 containers of formula, $20 packages of wipes, and cheap diapers?! yes please), meats, and just about everything. read more

I shopped at the Lavista, Omaha, Ne location on 4/29/21. I bought a fruit bowl that dated for use as, 5/4/21. The cost is $9.99. On the 4/30/21 I opened it for use as I was having company. The fruit, looked good from the outside, but when open, they were rotten. The smell so bad that I have to throw it away in the trash. I bought it to the trash can outside as I don't want it to smell the whole house. On 5/21/21 I called Costco store and report the rotten fruit, so they may pull out the self and not sell to other customer. I thought I was doing the store a favor. The man answered the phone, did not even apologize. His tone of voice was not friendly. This made me feel like I was telling a lie. I was a member of this Costco since it was opened. I spent hundreds of dollars every time I shopped there. Should I lie for an item that cost $9.99? It does not make sense. The man said I need to bring in the receipt and the fruit bowl to get a refund. I told him The smell was bad and I have dumped it in the trash. He said, okay I just bring in the receipt. Today, 5/3/21, I came in and try get a refund, and the 2 ladies at the customer service asked me where is the rotten fruit bowl. I said I don't have it and that I have threw it in the trash. The tone of their voice was distrust of me. This made me feel really bad, that feeling like I was lying. At first, they told me it was store policy that I need to bring in the rotten fruit bowl to get a refund. One lady suggested I should put the rotten fruit bowl in my freezer until I have the time to goto the store for a refund! Would you put rotten food in your freezer? I will not. Anyway they eventually gave me a refund, but not without hassle. This is bad customer service. First, you sell customer bad food, and you made them feel bad by not trust them telling you the true. It was inconvenient for a per son to buy bad food where they have to travel for return-cost money for gas, and time, and disappointment. I shopped at other stores like walmart, baker, and hyvee. When this happen, which is rare, but once in while, they always told me to threw the bad food away, just bring in receipt and they will refund me. No question asked. Suggestion. We have been Costco members for awhile but didn't use it much because the Dodge location was pretty far from our home and work and it was also always consistently packed, even during off hours like during week days. I was so excited when they opened this new location in LaVista. We now go at least once a month, and also purchase all our prescriptions and our glasses here. Their pharmacy is the best, and I will happily go out of my way to use it. In addition to having good prices, they also fill prescriptions exceptionally fast, and text you reminders for refills which you can refill just by texting back (so convenient!). They have a good selection of high quality and affordable items and have almost anything you could need. We have staples we buy every month including fruit, cheese, dog food, baby wipes, cosmetics, and food items we use in bulk, such as olive oil and spices. We generally buy a few extra things, as well, based on what sales they are running. The best part is that this location is never insanely busy like the other location, even on holiday weekends. We are always able to find a reasonably close parking spot and have no problems navigating through the store. The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly and make checking out very easy. read more

This location is worth the extra 10 minutes or so drive from the other Costco. Soooo mellow and easy going. I LOVE Costco no matter what, but this location is so chill and we love it! (The Costco location off Dodge is PACKED with little moving room sometimes, it's like the game Frogger trying to get across the lanes haha!)
