I purchased the Bridgestone Turanza EverDrive tires, and ordering them through the website was quick and easy. Scheduling the installation online was also straightforward. I did receive a text saying an earlier appointment was available, but the website wasn't updating to show those openings. I called the tire center, and the staff was able to get me in within the next few days, which I appreciated. My appointment was on a Friday at 1:45 p.m. After reading a lot of online reviews about long wait times, I was expecting to be there for hours. I dropped my car off at 1:40 p.m., walked next door for lunch, and received a text at 2:15 p.m. saying my car was ready. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the service was. The tire center staff were friendly and professional throughout the process. The only issue came the following day when my tire pressure warning light came on. I called Costco, and they explained what to do. I stopped by on a busy Saturday to check the tire pressure and add air. No one was available to assist since they were very busy, and I noticed the right rear tire was significantly low, so I filled it myself. It's now been about a week without any further issues, so I'm hoping it was just a one-time occurrence. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, the pricing, and the installation experience. I had a very disappointing experience at the Costco self-checkout with an employee named Jaime. He approached me and offered to help scan the rest of my items. I told him, "I'm okay, I've got it." As I continued checking out, I started struggling a bit. Instead of stepping in to help, Jaime stood there watching me. He laughed, threw his hands up, and said, "You got this," in a way that felt like he was making fun of me. I understand that I initially declined assistance, but customer service doesn't end there. If an employee sees a customer clearly having difficulty, I would expect kindness and professionalism, not laughter while they struggle. I was already having a bad day, and this interaction was upsetting enough that I left the store in tears. Whether that was Jaime's intention or not, the experience made me feel embarrassed and belittled. My brother gave us a Costco membership for Christmas and it's been very useful. Even with a small household we end up buying a lot of items here, though perhaps not as many as if you had half a dozen kids. It's a convenient place to get pallets of beverages, tasty cakes, pharmacy items like ibuprofen in bulk at a good price, and reasonably priced alcohol. You can also use your membership toward random things I wouldn't have expected like tires, travel packages, and cell phones. The one exhausting thing about this store is that it's always crowded. The parking lot is insane no matter what time of day you come, and people are always dodging around with carts inside. So prepare yourself for the mob, then come in and get your rotisserie chicken, a wedding cake, a year's supply of vitamins, and a new couch, as well as a tank of gas. read more

Stopped into Costco here while in the area, mostly for the liquor department which is not available in PA Costco stores. Although the layout differs from our Cranberry Twp, PA store many offerings are the same. We did find some unusual Chinese sausages here though, that they didn't have at our local store. We stocked up on Kirkland gin, Kirkland Brut & Rose Prosecco ($7.99!), Kirkland Pinot Grigio (4.99!). Parking lot is busy busy & so is gas, but gas line moves quickly. read more

I get to the counter to pay they tell me they do not accept Mastercards which is the most absurd thing I ever heard - In this country Apple is the most used phone and I can't use my Apple credit card because it's a Mastercard. read more

I like this Costco, though I find it more difficult to park there, not sure why. But as a Costco member for just a couple years shy of 30 years, I would like to caution you about being a member. For those of you who have been Costco customers for many years, you have probably noticed the overall decline in the quality of Kirkland products and the decline in the overall confidence that the items you want will actually be in stock. This was the first year that we will not get a customer refund large enough to cover our renewal cost, and that is because we are purchasing more at Sam's than ever before. Sam's is not a replacement for Costco, but after receiving a nearly free membership at Sam's a couple years ago, we have been doing more and more of our "warehouse" buying from there. Firstly because of convenience. 85% of the time I do my purchases by scanning with my phone as I walk through the store. 10% of the time I use their hand scanners to scan the items in my cart (no back and forth unloading and loading), and the rest of the time I go through standard checkout. Even when I scan my own items, I am nearly always waved through, not item checked by the person at the door because you go through an arch with cameras that checks your items. When I buy their gas, I scan a QR code, it "knows" which pump I am at. No playing with cards. Second Sam's seems to do a far better job keeping staple products (such as organic eggs or cage-free and organic eggs) in stock than Costco does, in my opinion. Third Sam's quality control seems better on the products they produce in-house and that are produced for them. I can't believe I am saying this, just do a simple comparison between Sam's and Costco's muffins and tell me which you prefer, regardless of price. Now compare their roasted chickens, which is larger and which tastes better. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I feel the quality control at Costco in general has nose-dived. Their frozen sea food, their meat department, dairy, produce, etc. You can no longer grab a Kirkland product and feel confident it is quality. What is so sad is that about 5 years ago I stopped buying meat from Costco all together. I probably only purchase steaks occasionally from their meat department if the meat looks good, no red goo. As for their tires. I will no longer buy their tires. Why ... service. It takes too long to get a flat fixed. When I buy tires, I don't want to leave the car for a half or a whole day to get it done. I recently paid $60 total more to get the same tires at Discount Tires, just because I knew I would not have to leave the car for hours, and I would be able to have them serviced confidently. So in summary. Costco is no longer my main stop for most items. And if the trend continues downward, I may no longer renew my membership. read more

BUY HARD 4.0: LIVE FREE OR BUY HARD 'Tis the season for Costco eggnog, reindeer, ornaments......and Hans Gruber taking a dive off of Nakatomi Plaza. This well-received wholesaler sits on Odgen Ave & Naper Blvd, just a stone's throw from H-Mart, a fabulous Asian supermarket. This is actually one of two Costcos in Naperville, which makes sense given the town's large population (150,000 residents) and sizeable area (39 sq mi). I've only been here once, but it was a pleasant experience. On said trip, I bought an 8-pack of individual crème brulées ($9), a 2-pack of Frank's hot sauce in big bottles ($9), a 2-pack of broccoli cheddar soup ($10), a case of protein shakes (18 for $22), a bottle of Kirkland teriyaki sauce ($5), and a massive box of popcorn (44 pouches for $13). As expected, you save a decent amount of money when buying in bulk quantities. Their little foodcourt was busy on 12/13/22, with lots of people ordering the legendary chicken bake ($4), tasty slices of pepperoni pizza ($2), or the hot dog + soda combo that's still inexplicably priced at $1.50. I learned the other week that the latter actually is a net loss for the company, but the CEO has said he'd "rather die than change the price of the hot dog". Mad props to him. As with most Costcos, there's an adjacent gas station with regular unleaded at 5¢ cheaper than BP/Mobil/Shell. Assuming you pump 10 gallons, it's less than a dollar in savings, plus you can't use Discover or Mastercard for in-store purchases. Costco has a contract with VISA, so only debit cards or VISA credit cards are accepted. I'd rather get my points than save a measly 50¢ on gas! * TL;DR * I really want to give this Costco 4-1/2 stars, since I've been doling out 5* reviews like a mall Santa hands out candy canes. Staff were nice, helpful, and there was a great selection of products. However, the huge rollup doors at the front of the store were wide open, which made the entrance/exit SUPER drafty. The receipt-checkers had on heavy winter jackets, probably because getting blasted with frigid December air wasn't fun. One of those large security shutters should've been closed for comfort. (totally unrelated: there's an illustrated Die Hard book done in the poetic meter of "Twas the Night Before Christmas", and it is phenomenal. My 18mo little man is a bit too young to learn about how Mr. Takagi's suit got ruined, but in the meantime I'm delighted to read a book cover-to-cover for the first time in a decade. Tuesday, May 13, 2025: I shopped at 1255 E Ogden Ave Naperville, IL and was very dismayed. A lady brought her small dog into the store. It had an accident right in front of the meat counters. She only cleaned up a very small portion of it. Then she told the employee at the meat counter and left the scene. People were stepping in the mess!! She should have put a doggie diaper on it before being allowed to come inside the store. I don't think pets should be allowed in the store unless they are service animals. Shopping in a big box store is hard enough without encountering a slippery mess. A lot of us, including myself are elderly and anyone of us could have fallen if our foot slipped in such a mess. I have been avoiding Costco for a couple of yrs now. Every year when my membership is up for renewal, I wonder why I'm paying for something I avoid at all costs. The insane crowds. The beastly parking lot. The rat race to the registers. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Yet here I am. I couldn't help but to at least check it out. It is new after all. This place is pristine. Orderly. I am not a fan of busy busy, swarms of people, and lines to buy some odds and ends. I hope that this Naperville Costco spot will display some class, kindness, and respect for other people. Too often other locations seem like a free for all with numerous customers being inconsiderate and lacking manners in the parking lot and inside the store. So far, everything from getting gas, browsing, grabbing a bite at the cafe, and checking out seem to be orderly and pretty fast. Let's keep it that way! I've been to the other Naperville Costco, and the ones closer to home. Every time I visit a friend in Naperville, we stop by Costco to take advantage of my membership. Today, we went to this location, and it might be my new favorite Costco. I know it won't stay this quiet and not-packed forever, but I was amazed at the difference in offerings compared to the stores by me. I was able to get some awesome/amazing Korean/Japanese options (I regret not buying moon cakes). I ended up going to the Costco near my house, and none of the items I bought at this location were available. I know it's next door to HMart, but I'm hoping that the success of those items means they will make their way to other locations. If not for the samples, I wouldn't have taken a chance on several of the things I purchased. read more

When it was announced that the grand opening of Naperville's second and newest Costco would be 8AM (two hours before typical opening time) on Thursday (8/19) morning, I was super excited!...and it looks like a lot of other people were as well! Everyone woke up early to come visit, and it was definitely worth it! Tons of free samples to mark the opening, from ribeye steak to parmigiano reggiano to freshly baked croissants. The layout of the store is much more spacious than the other Naperville location, and it definitely felt like there was more products/inventory in stock (including the hard-to-get Playstation 5). This new Costco (complete with a new gas station as well) replaces the old plaza that was here for many years, and it is a great addition to this side of Naperville. Highly recommend! read more

Terrible customer service. Wouldn't honor a price adjustment on a a TV I bought less than 1 week ago which was cheaper on their website by $200 and also available at Sam's Club for $200. They suggested I return the TV I bought and buy the TV online from their website instead. Ridiculous. Store associate was named Frenchie and she has a an attitude. Food Court is understaffed and rude af. Called at 10:26am to place and order for large cheese pizza. They took my name and said it would be ready in 15-20mins. Arrived to Costco at 10:46. Pizza is not ready, told me to go pay for it at the Kiosk. 11:22 still no pizza. Ask for the third time when it will be ready. Was told that there are 11 orders before mine. Told them I called an hour ago and placed and order being told it would be ready in 15mins. The lady said, well we are busy. 11:52 still no pizza. I'm over my allotted time for lunch break. Asked for a refund and was told I have to go to customer service. 12:34 still waiting in line at customer service. Now my work is calling me to see if I'm ok. 5 people a head of me still in the customer service line. Asked to speak with a manager. Spoke with James, explained the situation. No apology was told I have to get back on line for a refund. Debated my choices. Get back in lines for refund and lose my job or be out $11 and waste my whole lunch break and remain hungry. I'm trying out all the costcos in my area to see what one is best. Oakbrook is by far the worst- always slammed with people. Bolingbrook is great, but costs me a toll to get there. This was an easy drive, not overly crowded and had everything I needed too. It had a great stock of everything. The customer service is extremely kind here too. I was able to find what I needed, and scored some good deals too! I will definitely be back! read more

I recommend this Costco because it was the very first time. In all the years I've been going to Costco. An employee offered to put my items in my car. He was like an angel of some kind, that approached me and offered to assist me. I was so thankful because I knew I wouldn't be in pain the next day. For lifting over my restrictions.
