This is my favorite Costco. The parking layout is fantastic, the inside easy to navigate, the lines always moving quickly and efficiently. The staff is professional and pleasant!! I use this pharmacy as well and the staff is ALWAYS professional, kind, polite, and helpful. Even if they are unable to help, they are still respectful and pleasant. I can get anxiety picking up prescriptions or going into large stores, but I always feel relaxed and welcome at this Costco ! read more

Great store. Been customer for 26 years. Recently tho, purchased a sofabed. Turns out to be so toxic. 1800 couch that release micro particles showing up in air filter. So, luckily Costco will take it back. This is basically to let people know about the delivery people they out source. Anyone with a truck, rental truck can deliver. Had two come in my home and purposely damage my floor. I say this, cause honestly, no one can be this stupid. Take apart sofa bed and carry lighter piece and with the sharp steel hinges stop right outside bedroom door in middle of home and begin to drag on floor making the perfect Brazilian cherry wood floor get gouge and scratch. Luckily I stopped these two from scratching and damaging more. The piece the two were carrying was not that heavy for them to stop and rest. I tell you no one can be this stupid. Beware you all. I even had to pick up the booties that they left behind outside. Kid is walking around outside with booties on and comes in the home. Does that make any sense. Been here a few times and this store is definitely a smaller warehouse. It has all the typical Costco things; food court, tire shop, bakery and liquor. But for some reason it seems tight. The bakery here is not my favorite. I'm not sure if they need help back there or what but some of the baked goods appeared undesirable. The cashier was in a rush and a bit disgruntled but the woman at the door greeted me with a smile. I like smiles. read more

BUY HARD 5 : A GOOD DAY TO BUY HARD As John McClane's tenure ended with a fizzle, so does this series of Costco Yelp reviews. For those unaware, the fifth and final entry in the Bruce Willis franchise was met with universal disdain, a brutal way to close the book on one of Hollywood's greatest action heroes. While this Costco doesn't generate anywhere near the level of resentment that movie does, it's also the "worst" experience I've had at the chain of big box stores. Plainfield's Costco is adjacent to I-55 and off of Route 30 (S Lincoln Hwy). I rarely come to this location, as it's farther than the Bolingbrook (Boughton Rd) or Naperville (75th St) stores. Why bother coming here at all, you ask? So I can crank out another easy-to-pen review, duh. What I bought most recently is representative of our usual grocery run: paper towels (a dozen rolls for $20), water bottles (40ct for $4 = 10¢ each), bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers (a household favorite, 20ct for $10), hot dogs (50ct for $12), kitty litter (4x10lbs bags for $16), and a bottle of "premium" Kirkland vodka (1.75L for $19). Word to the wise, kids: not everything you buy at Costco is the best value in town. They had whole watermelons for $9; Meijer had them - granted, they were on sale - for $3. Hot dog buns are ever-so-slightly cheaper at Meijer, too (20¢/ea compared to 22¢/each @ Costco) and obviously the brand selection here is limited. Food court's the same as always: pizza for $2/slice, hot dog + drink combo for $1.50, chicken bake for $4. The soda lids were all jammed together in the dispenser, so I had to wrestle with that for a minute. It also seemed like the ketchup/mustard/relish station was farther away than at other Costcos, but that could just be me. On the way out, I absentmindedly forgot to take my receipt. When I came back to snag it moments later, the girl manning the self-checkout was scowling. I apologized for my lapse in consciousness, thanked her, and was quickly brushed off with a glare. Well who pissed in your potato salad, lady?? Was holding onto a customer's receipt for 60 seconds that much of an inconvenience? Dang! * TL;DR * Although we do 90% of our grocery shopping at either Meijer or ALDI, there are some things we need in bulk. If you're hosting a party of ten or more people, I'd strongly recommend a Costco visit (or a trip to Sam's Club, if that's where your allegiance lies). Specific items are a better deal elsewhere, so if savings is your ultimate goal consider a quick price comparison to Jewel, WalMart, Kroger, etc. Costco is best when you need 200 of something. With that, there's no longer a need for me to venture out and find other Kirkland depots in the western Chicago suburbs. My wife and I will continue to give the Naperville Costco the majority of our business but consider this the bow on my Yelp pentalogy. Best of luck in retirement, John. The amount of money Costco loses to the piss poor delivery drivers is insane. I've had a dented dryer and then I watched my new fridge roll down my driveway. I can walk to this COSTCO so it is a real convenience to have. I shop there about 2-3 times/month. Gas is always cheaper than any of the many gas stations in the area. I like this story with many (but not all) friendly and helpful workers. The one BIG thing I dislike about COSTCO is they move items around in the store so something you have to hunt for them but worse is when there is something you truly love and buy there all the time only to come to find out they no longer carry it. Even the packages of smaller COSTCO chocolate chips are no longer sold there. I never eat at the food court because I can buy a box of hotdog and take it home to eat it even cheaper than you can buy at the food court, especially pizza. Besides, IMHO, their dogs are far too greasy for my tastes. Just my .02 read more

Everything about Costco is fantastic. They support DEI and democratic policies. My son works there and his salary is decent, they treat employees like humans. I shop there weekly and the food and prices are wonderful. Clothes and household goods are great. I hear travel options are also great. Auto center and gas prices are good. Have not tried any home improvement items like flooring yet. read more

This Costco opened today! Finally! No more will the residents drive to Bolingbrook or Orland Park to their nearest Costco. This Costco is packed! It's got everything you want from Costco besides the attractive deals! Conveniently located off I55 off of the 257 exit as well. The free sample people and product sales people are here but the free samples are for display only. It's got a self checkout lane which is new to me! The store is brithtly lit. Tons of foot traffic inside. Kirkland water sold out immediately! The staff is warm, friendly and kind spirited. Things to know before you go. Costco DOES NOT accept mastercard (unless it's debit) expect tons of people! They still sell food during covid but you have to take it to go and they don't offer napkins. Most importantly that may deter you away. This is a CASHLESS Costco! read more

Man where to begin?! So many great things about Costco I could go on and on. They have an amazing selection of food, clothing, electronics, furniture, household goods, etc. How can I forget to mention free samples, too!? There is so much that this store has to offer. Today I got their strawberry smoothie from their food court to sip on while I shopped and man did it hit the spot! You literally cannot go wrong with anything on their food menu in the food court. The prices are reasonable, taste is on point, and portion is good! This store is so clean, organized, and the staff is always kind. I visited the Costco in Plainfield today with my husband. Our experiences prior have always been very pleasant with the employees however that was not the case today. We were checking out, Aubree S was our cashier. I wanted to have an item deleted off my order and she said she couldn't do that and she'd have to re-ring everything again. I couldn't understand why, she was very rude to us, rolling her eyes and her tone was not very nice. A cashier manager corrected her telling her yes you can just delete the item and she even gave the manager an attitude and rolled her eyes at her. I think I will start shopping at the Bolingbrook location as we have never had an issue there. We were very upset how she treated us and embarrassed how she spoke down to us and very loudly I might add. read more

The customer service at this location is the absolute worst. The cashier was snippy and short when we mentioned that we had a purchase that was tax exempt and her attitude turned snarky. She barked that she was the only person to load our cart and she needed it but we still had stuff in it. Sarah was so rude, nasty and short. This was my parents first time stepping foot into a Costco and based on their experience they will be keeping their Sam's Club Membership. Not at all impressed. Walked in and was immediately racially profiled from the greeter. The black women checking cards yells at me for not showing my card "long enough" to her but let multiple others of her own race walk by without a word. I shake my head as I walk away and under my breathe said "Jesus Christ". She then calls security and two employees come find me while shopping and this woman claims I used profanity at her. So apparently Jesus Christ is a bad word now. I also use this for my business spending over $300/week but I'll now be going to sams club instead. read more

I have been going to this store since it opened and found that the store was very nice, along with the employees in comparison to the other one in Naperville, on rt. 59. Today, all that went out the window with the tire department. I bought my tires at COSTCO, have pulled into many COSTCO's to have my tires checked or filled with air. Today, Erica, aka Hitler, sat outside the service area in a mini-van beeping the horn at me to move - I had stopped to ask if someone would check my tires as the low pressure light came on - and pointing me to get out of her way and yelled across the lot at me. Really? Is it necessary to be so rude? I finally got one of the guys in the department to fill the tires...after much arguing with me that I can do it myself at the newly installed air pump.... I'm sorry, I don't know how to use this and the last time I tried, I over-inflated my tires which is just as bad as not having enough air. Is it necessary to be so rude to people who ask for help with their tires that they bought at your store? I guess that's how these employees show their appreciation. They clearly don't appreciate customers and would rather they just go away. Not a good experience at all. If you are in a customer experience position and can't accommodate customers, you should be fired or quit as you clearly do not like your jobs. read more

The place is beautiful and very clean. Loved walking around and most of the staff was very friendly. However, at the end of our visit, we encountered an issue with the cashier. She had a horrible attitude towards my family and I as soon as we walked up to the register and she didn't want to let my grandmother pay separately. The cashiers name was Lisa S. Like I said, the establishment and most employees were helpful but having someone like Lisa on their team is just setting this place up for disaster in the long run. read more

Rude gas pump attendant. Seems like he wanted to be security or a cop or something. Yelling at customers. Saying the same thing over and over again. Costco needs to have management or security cameras watch this gas pump attendant and how he acts and treats customers. Allocated bottles of liquor were released with no limit (the registers are capable of picking on limited items but the management ignored this) on opening weekend and all the members that waited in line on opening day for hours going home empty handed.
