First time inside this Costco in Norwalk, and this time made use of their free service to adjust eye glasses purchased at any Costco. I was very satisfied with the visit. My glasses had gotten really loose from constant wear, so was hopeful it could be tightened. The optical shop is located outside the registers, so it's important to enter via the Exit opening (similar to if you want to visit their subscription desk to buy a membership). Recently, the optical department got rid of their paper ticketing (where one draws a numbered ticket and wait for their number to be called, just like a deli), and replaced it was an app based one (powered by Waitwhile). You scan a QR code, which takes you to a web page. You can then choose a reason for the visit (I chose Eyeglass adjustments), and give a name. An optional phone number can be given to receive text, which I did. I was notified that I was on the waitlist by text, but was called by name and never told by text that I was up/next. David was the optician that adjusted my glasses, and gave me the standard warning that they would not be liable if the glasses broke during adjustment. He then worked on them on a nearby desk, and worked carefully. It made sense to hang around, and once he was done, just handed them right back, confirming that they fit. He did a great job. One new thing I noticed were these 'Pickup lockers', where orders from costco.com, optical, or pharmacy could be picked up without human interaction. It's similar to Amazon lockers in set-up. Neat that Costco keeps trying new things. read more

This might be one of the oldest Costcos I've been to which seems to be always crowded. I have to note the parking is rather strange with so many turns and dead-ends. I really had to be careful, as always, to watch out for other customers while driving. Once in the store, I saw fairly busy lines before 10:00 AM on this Sunday, so I knew there were many Executive members with family in tow. The selection was similar to any other Costco and found out they stopped stocking peanuts in the shell, except for the Costco Business Centers, which are not open on Sundays. I did not find any special deals on this day, but am a diehard Costco shopper. read more

It honestly doesn't matter what time of day or what day of the week you come. It's always crowded. And the parking lot? Don't even get me started. They renovated it a couple of years ago, and somehow it still feels just as chaotic... if not worse. The layout is confusing, with certain entrances acting like one-way in and one-way out, which just adds to the mess. And if you happen to get stuck behind someone waiting for a car to unload a full cart, then slowly walking it all the way back to the cart return, just know you're not going anywhere anytime soon. Norwalk Costco is my favorite Costco store to shop at. Although parking can be a challenge, they carry a huge variety of items - from food, to appliances, bedding, clothing, etc. It really is one stop shopping. Good pricing and their sales are awesome. I've been shopping at this location for over 30 years and the employees inside the store are super helpful. They go out of their way to be helpful - which I appreciate. I understand why they periodically move merchandise around but it can make it difficult to find items that you regularly shop for sometimes. That, along with the parking, are the only drawbacks but no store is 100% perfect. I should have reviewed this store way before now but I had to do a return today, and was helped by Gio. What a nice young man. Polite, Professional and Personable. He's an example of the great customer service that you will receive from Costco. read more

Operator "Chris" was moving a MEWP without a harness or lanyard while a distracted spotter repeatedly failed to control nearby shoppers, who were within three feet of the moving lift. This behavior is an unacceptable safety risk to customers and staff and demonstrates a complete lack of situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols. MEWP operation may resume once operators and spotters are properly and competently trained, fall protection is in use, and pedestrian exclusion or other safeguards are fully implemented. I come here for the car wash more than anything else when I'm in the area. Always an adventure since it's always crowded and have to bring some patience while waiting in line. The Costco is pretty much the same as any other, though definitely with more crowds. I can't say this one stands out in any way beyond being one of the few with a car wash in SoCal. Typical selection of goods inside and this location is close to many popular venues in the area so good for convenience. read more

By far the worst Costco in the area. Nothing against the products or services but it's the size. The parking lot is tiny and there's always two or three cars waiting in each row. If you're lucky enough to find parking, then good luck with the check out lines. Each line is typically 15-20 people deep. This is the second time I've had a horrible experience at this location. The manager named Bobby who works at the tire shop refused to exchange my car battery even though I have warranty. They tested my battery said it was good and guess what? An hour later it died. I have proof from mechanics saying my battery can't hold a charge and needs the battery replaced! He made me feel stupid like I didn't know what my car needed. His tone was unacceptable and he could've approached this in another way! Hard to get a parking spot.. also the food pizza/hotdog area needed to fix their sign people are lining up most of the time on second and third lane window from the non members line. It is actually insane how hot the water temperature is in the restroom of costco. My 4 year old burned her hands and at first I thought it was just a little to warm and shes si fair, but no 4 hours later and she literally has burns. Her skin is still red , dry and BURNED. The first picture was from when she washed her hands at 5:42pm, and the second and third is currently at 9:19pm. FIX IT before you go burning more kids. read more

Alma's Poor Customer Service On Sunday morning, we waited in line well past the tire shop to enter as Executive Members. When we finally reached the front, we noticed Alma scanning and allowing people in from the other side without having them go through the line. When a customer in front of me expressed disappointment, Alma gave him a nasty look, which prompted the rest of us to speak up. When we asked for her name, she turned her back to us--the actual line--concealing her name tag. I happened to see her again on the way out and caught her name then. I understand that managing a crowd can be challenging, but her reaction was unlike anything I have ever experienced at any Costco. Even after entering, several of us were still in disbelief, talking about what had just happened. That was our welcome to Costco today. Perhaps customer service is not Alma's strong suit. read more

Went on a Thursday around 3pm and found parking fairly quickly; which usually doesn't happen. They redid their whole parking lot and I'm not a fan of it. There is a one way only part and if you go down the wrong lane you end up having to detour. It's the one closest to Hoxie Ave. We ended up having to detour to the far side of the parking lot instead of just going to the next row where we saw a spot. We parked, walked in and the place looked empty. Normally, there are long lines Ever since they started opening up more lanes, the self checkout is available, it seems to go much more quickly when checking out. I used to avoid Norwalk and go to La Havra or Cypress instead, but I've been really impressed as of lately. I needed a new laptop and there was a Microsoft on sale for a great price. It was $250 cheaper than other local big box stores. It was on sale and to my delight ANOTHER discount of $20 was applied! We shopped for a few more items, had 2 people in line ahead of us, checked out and went up the merchandise room, gave my receipt and was handed my product. We were in and out in 30min. It was great! Staff was courteous, fast and very helpful. I will return again. read more

I went to this place to buy a battery for my car because a friend recommended it to me. He told me that he had bought his battery there and that the Costco mechanics had helped him install it. But I was extremely disappointed. After waiting in line for 45 minutes--since they only have one person working in the tires and batteries area--the cashier told me that the guys at the shop would help me install the battery. However, the guy there told me they don't do that. So I asked if he could at least lend me the tools so I could do it myself, and he said they don't have any tools for installing batteries. Come on, we're talking about a simple wrench, and I literally saw them hanging on the wall of the shop. They treated me like I was stupid. I spoke with the manager, David, who at least helped me by lending me his own tools, and that's how I was able to install the battery. The problem got worse because there was another customer in the shop yelling at me, demanding that I move my car--which was impossible since I hadn't installed the new battery yet, and the old one was dead. Honestly, I can assure you this was the worst service I've had in years. Even AutoZone is better than those clowns they have working as mechanics at Costco. Next time, I'd rather buy the battery at AutoZone. read more

I've been coming every single weekend for the past 3 months for my mother to do her grocery shopping. Considering what's going on in the world today. She can't take the risk to do her grocery shopping. This week some young women denied me to shop with my mom's membership. The second manager that they called up front was even worse. Telling me to clam down. They need to check their management and staff. They pick and chose when they can let you in with a parents membership? Unbelievable.
