While shopping, I felt uncomfortable as an employee followed me around the store, staring intently at me and my family member. I went shopping here yesterday, I was able to find a set of kids outfit at a really good sale price, but to my dismay after so much time spent in choosing, the casher vehemently told me that those set were not together as if insinuating like that I put them together to make a good set, even if the outfit matched and placed as a set in a hanger that were stapled together. She has to take the time (my time ), waiting to verify with manager and came back saying it was ok. It was really uncalled for, she must be in disbelief of the price where it inconvenienced me as a customer and put me in embarrassment . Bad judgement, she doesn't know who she's dealing with. Turning around being nice after her attitude is not acceptable, she can tell my irritation. Okay, so Ive been WANTING to go to TJ Maxx since like FOREVER! I had never been to this store until yesterday, the 13th. I had only heard about it in commercials and it seemed like they had cute stuff, sort of like Marshalls. SO anyway, I came here yesterday and when I walked in my expectations were much higher than what I saw. It is small! Smaller than Marshalls or Ross. However, THEY HAVE CUTE CLOTHES! and omg, dont get me started on the PURSES!! Im a sucker for designer handbags and they had so many color-coordinated ones that i couldnt resist. Something that REALLY stood out from TJ Maxx is the ORGANIZED shoe section. YOU DON'T SEE ORGANIZED SHOES at Marshalls or Ross! So this totally impressed me. Although, they always seem to discriminate against small-feet girls like myself -_- they have ugly shoes for sizes 5 1/2 :P anyway. I think I will come back soon :) I liked it! read more

Came to an "event" for cardholders and the associates were so rude. I will never come to one of these again. Didn't win anything in the raffle either. The associate that invited me said that their would be a goodie bag filled with stuff and nothing. They were giving people plastic 99¢ store bags!!!!! I still spent $$. But no coupons or anything. Came today for a quick look after seeing my dentist. I found a couple tank tops, but the selection is not what it used to be. Cloths were out dated, and stuff no one really wants. I guess better for me since I didn't spend much. This used to be my favorite TJ Max location, not anymore! They used to have gret workout clothes, and dresses. Not today for sure. Service was so so. This TJ Maxx is VERY small compared to other TJ Maxx's I have visited. BUT their customer service makes it up SO MUCH! I accidentally broke a candle and a sweet employee ran with a broom to help sweep the glass mess before I could even move my feet! Her positive attitude was a super shocker and she even took the time to give us an additional discount for the broken candle. As I was paying for my goods she was helping my friend find a product...and this is happening on Sunday night 5 minutes AFTER closing. How do I even begin? This place is great! Yesterday I bought a Jezebel and XOXO brand bras, some adorable Madden Girl heels, a super cute reusable bag and a bottle of Balance water infused with flowers. Awesome. They have A LOT OF GREAT STUFF. I saw Clinique, CHI, Hercut hair products, Bedhead, Guess heels, Ahava, the Body Shop, and tons of perfumes for great prices. They have Amor Amor, Juicy Couture, DKNY delicious and some other great brands. My mom found some Talbots blouses for herself and a wooden doll house for my daughter for $50..we went online and it retails for $120!! I found a lot of work slacks by The Limited and the lingerie section is good too, you can find Calvin Klein, Jezebel, XOXO, Felina...etc..All in all this place is great if you like quality brands but not their retail prices. I come here at least once a month, and get stuffs from tops to kitchen tools, tea bags, chocolate etc... This store is clean and staffs are friendly, most of the time. I can only recall one incident when the lady at the fitting room did not let me try a shirt because it was 15 minutes to closing, so they got to keep the shirt and I saved my money. I learned that the clearance section may have items on even more discounted price compare to the same items at their own aisles. I found a oxox pop container and a peeler, each for $2 cheaper than the same items in their kitchen tools aisle. They are in perfect working condition. An oxox pop container is priced $15-$17 at a kitchen collection store at Citadel outlet! I only hope that they can carry some of the cosmetic brands on the regular basis. It is kind of frustration to find that after 2 months using a cream that works well for my skin and come back for the 2nd jar but there is none!!! Compare to the store on South St., this location seems to have less selection, but I will keep coming here because it is close by my place. read more

I LOVE TJ's...tjmaxx, trader joe's...they are both TJ!!! been going to both since i was 14. haha.. originally, this was AJ Wright which is actually the lower end TJ Maxx. very glad that they decided to upgrade and make it a TJ Maxx instead. because it was the same chain, the conversion happened fairly quickly. i've been to this location 5 times since they opened about 3 weeks ago. service is friendly and prompt. ** it's located in the same plaza as the starbuck's at the corner of pioneer and firestone. also, there is plenty of parking. read more

Upon walking in, the place looked kind of spacious. There doesn't seem to be much inside - like it's very spaced out and not many items. But it looked pretty clean... I needed a present for my friend's birthday, and this place was my last resort. I had no idea what to get her! Luckily, I found something - a handbag that reminded me of her and her style. (I hope she likes it)! Anyway, I walked through the handbags, the housewares, the baby/toddler clothing and accessories, and the checkout (which has a lot of knick knacks as you walk towards the registers.) The selections in the places I looked weren't very good. I wasn't impressed. I mean, they had some Skip Hop toys, which I love... but my baby already has so many. So, I didn't buy any. I recently moved to Norwalk. I saw there was a TJ Maxx within walking distance from my home. I used to detest the TJ Maxx;s near where I used to live. It was just always messy, looked over, clothes on the ground, shoes, not in order, etc. I was kind of worried becuase a few peple I knwo call this the "ghetto" TJ Maxx. Not so! What a wonderful surprise to go into this store and find it clean, organized and well stocked. Whoever the management is needs to be congratulated for keeping up a very nice store with great employees and customer service. So far I have had only positive experiences there. The staff is always willing to help. I used to work in retail for twenty years so I understand this type of work can really suck the life out of you, IF you allow it to. Most of the associates here seemed to actually enjoy working there. Just a very nice and positive atmosphere. I will keep coming back! read more

Love this location. Very neat and empty which I love so that I can really take my time going row by row. Clearance items are a hit or miss but overall store had great deals. I went during the weekend and was still pretty empty. Restrooms are clean as is the whole store. They have great customer service and extra checkout lines were immediately opened when a small line began to form. No other stores are around which is why I think it's so empty but a big plus when it's the only place you want to shop at. Will definitely come back. read more

But there was one in particular worker who was really friendly, kind and just super helpful! And that was the kind of worker that seems like he loves his job! I went in and exchanged something that was a gift and ended up being charged for the price of the original item and the difference. I noticed the next day when I saw two transactions on my bank statement. I went into the store but they couldn't help me because I didn't have another receipt for the incorrect charge. They had no "record" of it but yet it cleared my bank so it has to be somewhere on the books. The manager acted like she could care less and told me to come back. Why do I have to go out if my way for someone else's error? She could have taken my info and told me she'd research and get back to me but she didn't. I know a corporation like TJ Maxx has to have a paper trail on this since I paid with a card. I'm not dealing with a mom and pop shop so either the employees don't know what they're doing or TJ Maxx is stealing money. I had to report it to my bank as fraud. Worst TJ Maxx customer service ever. I had bought an outfit back in April for my sister who was really sick. Before I had given it to her, I had removed the price tag and gently placed the outfit in a gift bag. When she opens the bag she was really excited to have received such a nice gift. Also, she was shocked that I was able to find something this nice at TJ Maxx. The following day I was to begin my 3 week business trip. Later that week I had received a call from my now recovered sister who had claimed that the outfit was a little small. I had told her to hold onto it and I will return it for a larger size when I return. I had spent countless hours looking for the price tag along with the receipt. Today I had decided to just walk into TJ Maxx in Norwalk and simply exchange it for a larger size. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was greeted by an associate Philip who first gave me a little attitude for crossing an imiganry line that wasn't completely barricaded. He kind of hearded me back. While I was stepping back, even apologizing, I explained my situation. Phillip asked if I had a receipt. I said no. He asked if I had the original price tag. I said no. All I want to do is exchange it for a larger size. He says, "I'm sorry, I can't do that". Now, I have been in the customer service for over 20 years. Phillip, I think you need to go back to training, or maybe find a different job where you do not have to deal With the public. If that is not an option, let me give you some advise. The next time someone comes in to the store with the same scenero, maybe try this. "I'm sorry, I cannot authorize an exchange without the receipt nor without the TJ Maxx label. However, if you have time, I can ask my manager to see if she/he could assist.". My wife and I both spend a lot of money at TJ Maxx stores. Also, TJ Maxx is our special occasion go to store.
