I ordered run flat all season tires for my BMW here at the Costco in St. Louis Park. They did a great job with the tires. It took about 45 minutes. I made an appointment and shopped around inside COSTCO while I waited. I like that they have the nitrogen air for tires right outside of their tire center that is available during open hours. I've gotten tires at COSTCO for all of my vehicles. Even if you have very nice vehicles, they do take great care of your vehicles and they know a lot about cars at Costco these guys at the tire center they love love cars. So you'll be rest assured that your vehicle will be in great hands. I would order the tires online to make sure that I'm getting the right size for my vehicle. You would type in your license plate and the state and your vehicle pops up in type of registry that they have access to, and then all of the tires will appear that are the correct size for your vehicle. They have all weather all season tires, summer tires, winter tires, whatever your vehicle make is, they may only carry one type of all seasons or three types of summer tires the selection is very slim however, you're guaranteed to have the best type of tire for your vehicle anyway. You'll get an email or a text that your vehicle tires are ready for installation and it appears that their scheduling system online is about a week out even though they would like you to come in within seven days to get your tires installed they will either email you or give you a call that you could schedule earlier so that it's within the seven days. I saved close to $400 on my MBenz tires & $300 on my BMW tires, vs the car dealerships. These are big savings. read more

It has been a while since I came to this location, but New Year's is upon us, which means there are some awesome buys to be had on your favorite health and wellness items. For me, this means buying some of my favorite Orgain protein shakes (at about 20% off), a new-to-me keto granola, some amazing D3/K2 vitamins to keep my mood sunny, and one of my secret tricks for lovely skin. It was a zoo as usual, but thanks to multiple check stands being open, the wait was not painful at all. I also took a quick cruise through the liquor store--they have a multipack from Go Brewing available! If you're trying a damp or dry January, pick up a pack--the price per can is excellent, and it's one of the best N/A brewers out there. I enjoy Costco. I'm a fan of the $1.50 hot dog and fountain drink combo. Hard to beat that deal! Yes, you are risking your life in the parking lot, but that is the customers not the employees. Likewise customers often are equally unable to drive their carts in the store. Whatever lunacy you witness in those places will be even worse at the gas station. They made improvements, but if you wait for someone to pull out, you may get passed by an aggressive customer. The deals are good and when I spend too much that's on me. The employees are decent and you'll see many of the same people over the years. HELL, no!! Every time I come in here for work, there is always some rude ass person here!! Today I went to the self-checkout which has never been a problem for me. On this day, there was an employee at the self-checkout helping people scan their stuff. I politely told him that I didn't want his help. He in turn told me he was doing his job. Then, proceeded to start scanning my items anyway. Telling me I wasn't supposed to be in that line, anyway, because it was going to cause a problem. Are you arriving at this review with the question "what even is Costco?" Because that is a fair question and I can assist with that. It's a "warehouse club" store, and not a regular store. You have to be a paid member to buy most things here. You're not even supposed to come in unless you're a paid member or with a paid member, and they check your card as you enter. And as you exit they compare your receipt to what they can see you leaving with. And they don't have many items in small portions. Most of what's on the shelves are bulk quantities. You're meant to stock up on six months' worth of toilet paper and ranch dressing and chicken nuggets and cat litter which you'd normally have to make many visits to a normal store for. Because of all of the above, everything is noticeably cheaper. Enough that you're still saving money even though you pay for an annual membership. All Costco locations have a gas station, and if you make a point of always getting your gas at a Costco, you'll save enough there to make back your membership fee, potentially several times over. The tradeoff is that the lines are often long at the pumps, especially at this Costco. And they don't have window washing supplies for some reason. Also the gas pumps are not right by the main building, they're on the other side of the Home Depot. PRO-TIP - don't fuss over which side of the pump to go to, because the hoses are extra long and can reach across your car. You'll see people waiting for a pump on "their side" when the other side is available, and you can silently laugh at them as you get going before them. Life's little joys, right? This Costco is busier than all the other ones. The parking lot is hairy. I don't like coming to this one. I try to avoid it, but sometimes I come here anyway. But the parking lot, uck. You will save significant amounts of money on your household groceries if you regularly shop at Costco. You will also save time because you won't make as many trips to stores. But you have to be strategic about storage in your home for some things, and you may have to make concessions about what specific versions of products you settle for, although they stand by the quality of what they stock. Their store brand, Kirkland Signature, is often excellent; it rarely feels like a step down. But it's not like Walmart where you can decide between the many different brands and varieties of shower gel or frozen pizza. They have a snack bar. They call it a food court. It is not a food court. It is a snack bar. Most of what's there is temptingly cheap and very good for what you get. But I don't know why they sell a $2.50 cookie. You can get a freshly-roasted rotisserie chicken for five bucks. I've gotten tires from their tire store and not found any benefit to buying my tires at Costco. They have a wine & liquor section with a separate entrance, and by Minnesota law you can purchase there even without a membership. Employees are kind and professional, but if you are trying to find an item, it is difficult or impossible to find someone among the stacks that can actually help you. They only take Visa or cash. You should get a Costco membership and try to go to the other locations if you can. read more

Have had a pleasant experience at both the Costco itself and Costco Tire. Tire purchase and rotation do not ever take more than 2 hours and 2 hours is the max I have seen, only when it is quite busy. Only once was it an issue with the tire rotation service and one of the employees did not wear gloves and left my steering wheel covered in black soot. I wish they carried more brands of tire though. Also, parking is atrocious, the layout must have been submitted by someone without any experience and approved by a blind manager. There are always guys at the phone kiosks who are a bit annoying because they try to interrupt on every trip down the main aisle. But I buy everything here from kitchen faucet to pineapples to dental floss to my vehicle. The sipping broth is on point. read more

Costco was out of something on my shopping list, but the sales associate I asked about it immediately knew what I was talking about and was able to confirm that they were out of stock. Costco is usually busy, and today was no exception, but I was still able to get samples from the various food stations and make my way through all of the aisles to complete my grocery shopping. It can be overwhelming, but it is a good place to stock up on essentials (and snacks). The parking lot is always packed. Most of the time, we end up parking near the Home Depot and walking all the way over. The St. Louis Park Costco location has a liquor store (which you don't need a membership to visit). There was wine for very low prices and large packs of beer and seltzer and cider from some local breweries, so I would go back before hosting an event. I decided to try the $1.50 hot dog this trip, and it was fine (so for a hot dog and fountain beverage for $1.50 it was amazing value). There was a 12 minute delay between ordering and when the hot dog was ready because they had run out of the last batch. There was a hungry horde waiting by the time the next round finished cooking. We were able to eat at the indoor picnic bench area, though there was nowhere out of the way to stash all of the shopping carts, so they were all scattered around the tables. read more

For me, the membership fee is high for someone whose main income is SSI. Yes, some employees are less friendly than others, so I try to avoid them. Went to the tire service. They made me wait 3 hours to find out not only was it the wrong size tires but they had no more in stock, but they also ripped one of my tires and put a donut on it. And I would have to wait several days for the tires to come in, and drive my long commute with a donut. So unbelievable! The only good thing is that I brought my quote to Discount Tire and they price matched my Costco quote with even better tires and no installation fee, they took less than an hour, and even gave me a bigger discount, with nicer tires, with a longer warranty and free rotations for life. The parking lot is terrible and this location was a madhouse, on a Tuesday! Absolute madness to try and shop here. I'm always disappointed at the amount of vegan items they carry - at least they weren't out of tofu this time but they can't consistently keep Beyond or Impossible burgers in stock (though they did have Morningstar's quinoa burgers). Options are very mid and very disappointing (which is why I don't tag along with my mom very much!) Checkout lines were long but they have two staff members per kiosk to help work through. The parking remains the worst thing about this location. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the layout makes it easy to move through the store. The check-outs are still a bit chaotic with the addition of self-checkout lanes. I don't use those and prefer to wait for a cashier to ring up my purchases. While I do have the Executive membership, I always ponder if it is worth it. Because I may have some big home purchases to make, I just go ahead and get it. I usually get about $20 a year back on my purchases. Costco has made an effort to cut down on the amount of plastic used for their products. When I made my semi-annual paper towel purchase, I noticed that the new one do not have individually-wrapped rolls. I was very happy to see this. I've been a member here for years. The store is not bad. Clean and the layout works once you figure it out. But the parking is ridiculous. You spend forever going in circles and standing in between parked cards jammed with others. The self checkouts are now great. I never buy a lot of stuff because going through the main line is VERY slow. They try. The workers are great. But there are never enough open registers. Last week fewer than half the registers were open. I waited in line for 35 minutes to renew my membership. That is just nuts. read more

I always love going to Costco and I recommend the executive membership because if you're a frequent shopper you'll get cash back on your spending! I highly recommend it and when it comes to gas I recommend a non busy time as it is always super long. Plus their gas station is quite in an inconvenient location if the line gets too long. When it comes to shopping days I recommend avoiding Saturday and especially sundays! Their parking is tricky to get through when it is busy. Otherwise if you have a big family or want to save money this is the place to get groceries. For those that don't know the magic of Costco, a few basics: - $60/year basic membership - Amazing prices on large-quantity items so you can bulk purchase your favorites - A dope concession stand inside with wildly inexpensive sundaes, hot dogs, pizza, and these chicken baked that are sent from above What we love to buy here: - TP, paper towels, trash bags, general essentials - Non-perishables - Unique items like cooked gyro meat, meal kits, dips and spreads - Fresh produce we know we'll use - butter lettuce, peppers, etc - Frozen favorites (Detroit style pizza is unreal!) - Attached liquor store is great for throwing parties on a budget - Always gotta get a sundae on the way out - ROTISSERIE CHICKEN FOR $4.99 I'm very passionate about that last one - the skin is so crispy, they're massive, and I can use as my protein source for an entire week?! Best dang deal in town! The parking lot is massive, but is generally very full. Staff are helpful here, and we haven't had a poor experience, but yes - it does get pretty dang busy, even on weeknights. It's always worth it to me, though! This review is specifically about their gas station. We went to get gas at this Costco last Saturday. It was incredibly crowded there. They had ridiculously long lines of cars. The worst part about these lines though was the fact that cars kept constantly cutting in the lines. The Costco staff didn't do anything about it, no cars even honked! Classic Costco experience. Bulk sizes of nearly everything. A good selection. More clothes than other Costco locations which is nice. Has a liquor store which is also convenient. Really helpful staff (ie Sage in produce told me to look for the greenest stems of the grapes to get the best ones. I had no idea!) I'm not going to rate this place lesser just because everybody else looks at this place as a glass that is half empty. Look at the half filled side of it, folks. This place sometimes takes forever to get a parking and takes more than the usual time to get checked out. All for what? They sell their products at pristine quality and better price and people would eventually flock to this place. If it's empty floors all the time, would you even care to enter? Let's look at the positives - 1. Get a Costco membership and you will find great benefits. Right from cost to getting travel packages and even cheaper car rentals. 2. Their tire center offers quality tires at a good deal and the servicing is also good. They respect your time and tell you upfront the ETA so that you can plan your pickup time. 3. The aisles are neatly planned and stocked. They maintain the same planning except for the entrance where the discounted items take rotation on the display. 4. Their cafe offers great deals. We once ordered 10 large cheese pizzas for a team outing and the price and quality were amazing. 5. They offer free samples for tasting at a lot of stops, which is a great way of engaging the customers and alluring them to buy the product. Something a lot of people see as negative is the astute care people at the entrance show to let you in(checking your membership card) and at the exit to cross check your items on the cart against the receipt. I think it's only making sure that only the members get the benefits and that people don't TAKE the products for granted. read more

Ok. First an admission. I just moved here from NYC and have never been to Costco before. Holy Crap. This is awesome. The people here are super nice and always helpful when I have a dumb question. Like "where are the razor blades" - when I am standing with my back to them. The place is well organized and I am almost always able to find what I am looking for. I don't know how the selection rates vs other Costcos or whatever, but I bring the fam here every other week and we always leave happy. Also, the liquor store has crazy prices. Maybe I am a bit out of my mind from NYC prices, but the booze here is super cheap. As far as parking goes, yes, it is a bit of a disaster, but I usually park on the other side of the parking lot, closer to the Leann Chin, and just walk, rather than trying to wade my way through their parking lot. One more thing, the Costco gas station is closer to the Home Depot and is a few hundred yards away from the store. So, in short, stop complaining and let the Costco just wash over you. read more

It is tough to not be a fan of a place whose apparent sole purpose is to save me real money on everything they carry every single day. For true penny-pinchers, there is really nothing better when it comes to Costco pricing per unit of product. Gasoline, for instance, is 10-20 cents less per gallon than any area gas station. Over time, this ends up saving you tens (if not hundreds) of dollars in vehicle operating expenses! However, all 5 stars from me it does not get simply because whenever I consider going here, I try to perform a tactical and strategic analysis of risk vs. reward. In other words, is saving some money on consumable items worth damaging my car or myself when I have to dodge and weave through nearly constant, insanely congested traffic in their parking lot (I have been to Costco stores all over the US and this risk is the same in all of them). To be fair, there is a very large amount of parking but regular citizens have a hard time turning down a good deal once they have sniffed it out which ensures a consistently busy parking lot. So, going to Costco will remain hazardous to your car and your health for the foreseeable future. Most of the time, when I perform that analysis, it often isn't worth it for me to go to Costco (other than for gasoline) because most of their consumable merchandise comes in bulk and unless I am looking for non-perishable bulk items that store well long-term (like batteries, ink pens, and bottled water) I can't make the argument that it is worth going there for a 10 lb bag of coffee beans or 5 lbs of asparagus. The wildcard though, is if I'm hungry. Throwing in the fact that after checking out, I can get an all-beef hot dog and a fountain drink for $1.50 at their little snack bar tilts the analysis strongly in favor of vehicle and bodily damage. Those damn hot dogs over the years have probably cost me more in door dings than the cost of an entire cow! In the end, I probably lose money because I eat my hot dog and then have to throw out the 4 lbs of asparagus I was not able to eat before spoilage. Damn you Costco snack bar hot dogs! read more
