This is one of the few stores with true department store vibes. The store was nicely lit, clean and organized. I was greeted by every employee that I encountered. There were a few items on sale but overall pricing is similar to any other department store. I was surprised that there was even a live pianist and many features throughout the store telling the history and foundation of the store. read more

Classic place with plenty of happy clothes in different designers than other places. Large store with easy access. They have a special section for men's shoes which I don't want anywhere else and I think it's proper to them. Employees are always attentive and they will not bother you if they see you sitting there just checking your phone. read more

Remember Dayton's when it was still Dayton's? That's Von Maur. Clothing is organized and presented beautifully, by size (IN ORDER!) Sales associates who greet you without pressure. Moderate price points with good deals on sales racks. A pianist! The experience that made retail shopping a now-lost pleasure. Items wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a lovely shopping bag. No question returns. PETITE section! I deliberately shop there for our makeover guests. Not because I couldn't find something or even the same thing somewhere else. But because I enjoy the experience, trust the sales associates knowlege, and feel like there's still hope for retail. read more

I just learned this place has a nursing room in the women's lounge area and it's such a game changer! It's the nicest and cleanest nursing room I've ever experienced which makes my job as a nursing mother feel so valued. This room had plenty of space for the stroller, a sink with a hook to hang the diaper bag right next to a changing table and a comfortable rocking chair for nursing. I also had a wonderful experience with the friendly and personable staff while helping my mom shop for a dress. And with a cleaning lady in the women's lounge area. This location is well put together. You never know what you'll find here. Brands and products change regularly, if you find something you like, buy it, it might not be there when you return. Associates typically stay in their departments, so in order to get a question answered you have to travel to a department that has staff in it. Quality product all around, return policy is standard. Like Mark H. said, the floors are beautiful! Not so much for the selection of men's clothing. I did see some nice overcoats but no mark down yet. Mostly very bland conservative clothes. Nice to have a choice as I know grey and dark blue are popular in Mn., but we need more variety. Not every shirt on a rack exactly the same. Socks. 3 for $10. Looks like good quality but plain designs and there are better deals on good quality socks at DSW just outside. In the early 90's while visiting Green Bay I stopped in at the Younkers downtown and found about the same array as I see now at Von Maur. Plain boring clothes and nothing on sale anyway. We know what happened to Younkers so Von Maur has time spiff the variety. read more

I was in need a new pair of jeans. Von maur has amazing clearance racks. Also the clearance racks are sorted by size and them color! How amazing is that?! The store is always fresh and clean and the employees are always so helpful. The music that is played that can be heard throughout the store is pleasant. read more

Beautiful department store addition to the Rosedale Mall. Often upon entry on the ground floor you are greeted with someone playing the piano, which is delightful. Von Maur has a great selection of shoes and I loved the selection of women's special occasion dresses, just gorgeous! May be a little higher priced, but often seems to be of phenomenal quality. read more

Their make up counters are THE best! I even have a favorite person at my fave counter. They have NYDJ and some other great brands in the women's casual area. Wish they had more current brands back in that corner. The atmosphere at this store is perfect. Relaxed. Great sales for my husband and he loves that he can run in and get a Brooks Brother shirt quickly. read more

I love having this new store at Rosedale! I walk through both floors every time I come to this mall for everything. There is plenty of new parking, too. I could do without the piano music though. If it were tuneful, softer, and more polished rather than loud and randomly improvised and far from polished, I would be fine with it. (9 months later: music is even worse!) read more

This store is brand new and is state of the art...if it were 1997. Somehow Von Maur opened a new store built from the ground up but used the same interior design of a Nordstrom that needs a remodel. Their floors are shiny and that's what they have going for them that is modern. The merchandise is fine but lacks inspiration. Just racks and racks overfilled with the same old boring department store stuff. New brands with inspiration are no where to be found. This is store stuck in the past and gives little to be excited for. read more

Visiting Von Maur's at Rosedale is a wonderful shopping experience - I'm just delighted with this store. It is a throwback to the days when shopping was pleasant. The store is immaculate, well-lit and they carry quality items in every department. The free wrapping and package/coat check is just a blessing. Bathrooms are large, clean and bright. This is such a pleasant way to shop, no one will bang their shopping cart into you, there are no crowded aisles, and you get ACTUAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE SALES HELP in each department! Imagine that, live human beings offering to help you. If all that isn't enough, shoppers listen to piano music playing rather than a loudspeaker screeching orders to sales associates. I have never had this kind of customer service anywhere else, the sales people are the best and go out of their way to help, besides being genuinely friendly. I absolutely love this store with all their sales and deals along with their sales people make me keep going back. I choose this over Macy's hands down. I'm lucky when I do call Macy's that they even answer their phones. At Vonmaur their courteous, friendly and forever helpful. I also love their interest free credit card which no hidden surprises when the bill arrives, no second guessing on how much owed when the bill arrives.
