At this Costco, you can park within a mile of the store, move freely in the building, actually see the registers when you get in line, communicate with the people who work there, and even get gas in less than 30 minutes! One of my favorite stores! Everything you need and of course samples of food as well. If you've never bought your tires at Costco, I'd recommend it. You can order them online at their website and have exactly what you want shipped there within a week. The price is awesome and they offer free rotation for the life of the tires. read more

I visited Bob Lein, the optician (entrance on the outside of the Costco store - not inside with the glasses) and he's excellent. I have a difficult prescription and usually see a specialist in DC but I wanted a quick fix before the holidays so thought I'd give him a try. I'm happy. I could tell he really understood what he was doing because he could guess at the problems I have and had some suggestions for fixing them. read more

Yeah it's a Costco. They have great prices on many items. I'm not a big fan of most of their fruit, but I don't mind buying many other items in bulk, and there are other things that aren't in bulk such as milk, wine, bread, and other such things that are at a great price. I love the food they have there as well. Here again, you can't beat the prices and the food is good too. This one also has a gas station that is significantly cheaper than the local area gas stations. read more

Costco has great prices for common household items and food, and that is about the only reason I keep shopping there. The customer service in Winchester VA is terrible the cashiers are extremely rude and so is the customer service center. If it wasn't for the terrible customer service I would give it 5 starts. read more

A solid costco! Neat, orderly, and super friendly staff! I was impressed with their sample sizes---compared to all the Costco's I have ever been too, it seems that they are most generous with their sample size portions. I.E. instead of giving you a small quarter of a provolone slice, they give you 1/2 of the huge slice of cheese, same goes with their gigantic cookie 1/2 of an entire heart shaped cookie. I almost got full just from trying out the ~5+ samples available. Great flower bouquets selection for only ~$11! And not too crowded on a Saturday, even better. read more

I am normally a big fan of Costco but as far as this particular pharmacy they have the worst customer service in the world. I dropped off my prescription and asked that they confirm that it could be filled before I walked away. They looked at the prescription leading me to believe that there was no problem and informed me that it would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. Twenty minutes later they had not filled the prescription. I returned another thirty minutes later and they had not filled the prescriptions because they "were verifying one with my doctor" and the other they claimed did not have a generic." I have been prescribed this medication for several years and I can assure you that the generic exists and is available. They however, continued to argue with me saying that it was not an approved generic. Yes it is. I have been getting it for years. It was approved by the FDA in June 2009. I called Costco's main pharmacy line attempting to get an explanation and none of the pharmacists that I spoke with could determine why they would claim that there was no generic available. They also seemed to be struggling to explain this to me. I would stay away from this pharmacy because even if they couldn't give me that generic or the prescriptions could not have been filled, I should have been informed at the drop off point. If the pharmacy tech can't read a prescription and tell me if they can fill it then they shouldn't be behind the counter in a pharmacy. Go elsewhere it is worth the extra money. read more

As far as a Costco goes this one seems to be doing everything right. Its extremely clean and the staff has always gone out of their way to help me find what I'm looking for or to help out in anyway. The produce and prepared food here is always top notch. You can't beat the deals on clothes either. $100 for Levi's at the Mall or $29 at Costco...hmmm...maybe I'll use the extra $70 I saved to buy king crab legs while I'm at Costco. Win win! read more

If you know what Costco is, then you probably love it! I've been shopping at this store for years and have never had a single problem. It gets crowded on the weekends so I would suggest that you go during the week during the day, or about an hour or more before closing any day of the week. Those seem to be the slowest times. Also, Costco's café has the most amazing, cheesy, delicious pizza ever! I go sometimes just to grab a slice. But they only take cash, so make sure you hit up the atm on the way in if you need to :) Depending on your bank, the atm is free to use if you are in the Star network! read more

I go to Costco once a month or so, mainly to stock up on non-perishables like cat litter and canned soda. I was surprised and pleased to discover they sometimes carry natural-sugar Coca-Cola and other organic and gourmet sodas. Their electronics staff was also a pleasure to deal with and I'll definitely be getting my next computer from them. One minor issue -I'd like to see more registers open, as the lines did get a bit iffy, but apart from that, it's the best-run warehouse club I've been to since I was a little kid. read more

What I experienced in the Winchester, VA store, and with the local corporate office which did nothing, is down right criminal. I had heard rumors about the men who work for Costco...and with all my years of being a Price Club member, and now an executive Costco member who spends at least one day a week shopping at the warehouse, I never encountered any issues until recently...and now I can honestly say there is something seriously wrong with how they handle issues and concerns at that store....and as a woman I no longer feel comfortable shopping there...to be verbally accosted by the doorman because I was on an emergency call with my daughter and heading to the Pharmacy (where you don't need a membership card) my hands were full and I was running in to get my prescription..period...I told him I WAS A MEMBER but going to the pharmacy. Whether I was wrong not to show him my card (they should just get a darn key fob!) did not in any circumstance justify his actions! He lost his mind on me! Got in my face yelling at the top of his lungs...and as I was pulling my card out he was screaming into his walkie talkie for back up at which time two huge men came barreling toward me...at this point I thought I was having a heart-attack!! I was so in fear of my life!!! I actually feared for my well-being (they had to call an ambulance as my bp went to 220/160). I had called a couple days later to the district manager who blew it off and now when I shop there I experience such enormous stress when I see the man who verbally assaulted me that I have a female employee walk me out if he is working the door. I had contemplated never shopping there again, but the nearest Costco is over an hour away and with 2 businesses and a family of 6, I tried to do my best to "get over it". Until yesterday when employees that have seen me for years asked what happened, one commented that she heard I made out like a "bandit" , which shocked me because I never even got a professional apology, they informed me that I got a significant amount on a cash card and 2 years of membership paid for. That's pretty detailed. So I approached Bobby, the store manager..and informed him that he needed to let his employees know that I never was compensated for anything and didn't want people to think that I was...he wanted to know who informed me of this and I told him I wouldn't tell him...why would I do such a thing? He said because they don't condone gossiping and it needed to be addressed. I will say that I informed him that his comment highly irritated me since the man who verbally assaulted me over a membership card not being shown at the front door and who made such a confrontation to my person that I was in fear of my wellbeing STILL HAD A JOB! I then said that their company policies were f'd up. He had the audacity to reprimand me for saying a cuss word!!!! I'm a 48 year old woman...he did NOT have the place to do so! I could understand if I was cussing him, but I was not. He said to me that it wouldn't be tolerated, like he was my father or something for crying out loud. I didn't cuss him! I used a word that described their policies and how they were handling things that was in the most colorful and explanatory way possible. I then proceeded to tell them they had serious issues if they were going to reprimand the persons who told me about a rumor going around the store and me saying a cuss word yet they have a person who is totally out of control with serious anger issues in their employ.. read more

My dad and I went into this costco today. The line for checking receipts off before you leave was very long. My dad politely asked the lady at the customer service right next to us if she could possibly call for another associate to check receipts so the line would go quicker. However, instead of a polite and helpful response, he was accosted by the customer service representative. She then proceeded to yell that my dad was impolite for not asking her how her day was and introducing himself before asking her to help. She hurried out from behind her counter and yanked the receipt from my dad's hand and scribbled on it. Then she yelled at him again saying things like "I HAVE WORK TO DO! I'M BUSY BUT YOU CAN GO SINCE YOU NEED SPECIAL TREATMENT!" She continued to scream at us and other customers as we left the establishment. I'm giving three stars because I am pleased that management dealt with the situation right away after both of us calling and complaining. read more

The warehouse is great. The issue I have with Costco is the vendors inside. They allow them to operate and sell products and services inside the store but when you have an issue they offer no help at all. The wireless kiosk has a good selection, when they offer rebates or Costco cash cards you will never get it and Costco will do nothing to help nor will wireless advocates (the kiosk inside Costco). read more

My absolute favorite store!!!!! We do about 98% of our shopping at Winchester Costco, and have been shopping there since they opened in 1995. Anytime I've had concerns, they've worked on getting it straight. The majority of the staff are very pleasant and seem happy to have their jobs. It's nice to see the same faces for so many years! BEST Costco around! Unbeatable. EVERYONE that works there from manager down to cashier or cleaning person..... #1-THE BEST!!! Store is ALWAYS clean, well stocked, everything in order, easy to find. Customer service desk is unbeatable. If you don't have receipt...they look it up without any issues. Returns are easy and simple. Parking is Great and you don't feel like you are too tight or trying to squeeze around. Nice ample parking. No, I am not employee....just a very well satisfied customer that has NEVER had any problems with this store and we have been shopping there for the past 15 years. Actually travel over 25 mile from Harpers Ferry. It is worth it. While we are there, we always get our pizza that Patty always has ready for us with a smile. Love, love, love the store!!
