The only downfall was that we didn't get any of our cake besides the top layer which we need to take home but we were so busy that we would have loved to take home cake. My husband and I looked at 3 locations, the Cotillion was the last and we booked it for our ceremony and our reception. Best decision! Why? Here I am with another review from a vendor's (DJs) point of view. We have played here various times and just have to tell you that this is an amazing venue. Not only is it beautiful but what gets me is always the staff. To me that goes a long way. The staff seems properly trained and is always great with customer services and taking care of the guests, bride and groom and even the vendors. This is a neat trait! Especially George and Tom, the big guys in charge there. Normally, they don't care or overlook things but these two gentlemen, took care of the bride and groom along with (again) the vendors! Our school sometimes hosts parent luncheons here. The place itself is pretty huge and ideal for people holding large wedding receptions. Next time I visit I will try to post some pictures of the place. From what I can tell this place consists of two large rooms. The first one is located in front by the main entrance and the other is tucked away in the back. Our school always uses what appears to be the larger room located in front by the main doors. They seem to do a decent job with catering our school events in terms of keeping food trays full and changing out ones that are empty. However there did seem to be a delay when it came to removing dirty dining-ware from the table when people were finished with their meal. I used to be a server so I always appreciate a clean table. Not much else can be said other then this being an ideal place to accommodate massive gatherings of people. read more

If you are getting married in this area and you don't book the Cotillion you are CRAZY!!!! George is the most helpful person we worked with during the whole planning process. He made us feel like friends and not customers from the first day we meet with him. He was full of great ideas for other vendors we could use. George saved us so much money both at the Cotillion and with referrals. We were going to hire a wedding coordinator but didn't need to because of how helpful everyone was. Until we meet the owners, I was convinced that George was an owner because no employee goes that above and beyond for someone else. The owners were so helpful as well. One of our guests has severe allergies to multiple foods and the owners made sure that she would be able to enjoy her meal and evening as much as everyone else. All in all I can't say enough about how helpful and accommodating everyone was. I couldn't happier with our decision to go with the Cotillion. Our wedding day was more beautiful than we could have imagined and went off without a hitch. Everything was absolutely perfect. My daughter, her fiancé, and I, went to three other venues before we chose the Cotillion Banquets. When we met George, we knew this was the place. He has such a great personality, wit, and sense of humor. After meeting with him on multiple occasions, and going through details, I can attest, that he is one of the most hardworking, detail orientated, and passionate people I have ever met. My husband and I are from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, but have lived in Houston, TX for the past 5 years. After becoming engaged, we realized that since so many family members and friends were still back in Chicago, it would make the most sense to have the wedding where we grew up. We looked at several places, however, after meeting with Dimitri at The Cotillion, we felt very confident this would be the place. Dimitri was very good about working with us since we were taking care of the whole wedding ourselves. He answered all our questions and gave us, what we felt, was the best deal we could have gotten for what we wanted. Since he works mostly in the evening, I spoke with Barbara and/or Tom most of the time after booking with The Cotillion. Now, you can imagine... planning a wedding is hard enough when you're in the town where you'll be getting married. Planning it from hundreds of miles away can be even more tricky... you really have to trust the people you're working with will be the best and do what you need/want. I never once had a problem with The Cotillion. They followed up with all my questions and made me feel very comfortable the entire time, even from afar. When we would be in the area, they would always schedule us in... even if last minute since they knew our situation. The best part was that we had originally booked the Crown Room... however, as the wedding day approached, the Regal Room was available... so they upgraded us for free. Elegant, beautiful, and amazing food! My wedding was a couple months ago and the venue looked incredible. What I loved about this place is that there are not multiple parties going on all at once, its location near a major expressway, a hotel next door for out of town guests, AMAZING prices compared to any venue in the city, extremely CLEAN, and everything is handled by the owners. Many places my husband I looked at we ended up seeing a hostess ect... but not the actual owner. We met with Dimitri amazing person and phenomenal customer service! Simply put we couldn't have had a better wedding experience. After seeing multiple wedding venues nothing compared to The Cotillion. We were on our way home after seeing another venue and noticed The Cotillion was close by. We called to inquire and George answered and was able to give us a tour of the venue right away. We did our research on many different venues, My wife and I came across The Cotillion at the exact same time. We immediately contacted George at The Cotillion to set up a meeting so we can come in and take a tour. From the first moment that we stepped into The Cotillion we immediately fell in love. We were welcomed by George. George answered all our questions without any problems, he showed us the rooms and spent countless hours with us to help make our wedding perfect. He helped take the pressure off of my wife and I and made wedding planning that much easier. He helped us find our vendors that we used for our wedding. We couldn't be more grateful for his help. He is so easy to work with, He was very fast at responding to our emails, and letting us come in and talk about details for our wedding. We were originally going to have the wedding in the Tiara room but we got bumped to the bigger room for no extra charge, When it came to the day of the wedding. The service was fantastic,The servers are attentive and more than willing to go out of their way for you. The appetizers and food were great, Everyone was raving about how fantastic the food and appetizers were. George and Tom both checked on us throughout the evening to make sure everything was going smooth and if we needed anything. We are so glad we went with the Cotillion. We couldn't have picked a better wedding venue for our wedding. George and Tom are truly one of a kind and great at what they do. If you are looking to get married then look no further, The Cotillion is everything you are looking for. You will not be disappointed. I know we werent. I would advise trusting your special day to other individuals than Tom and George. This place had more of a feel of a used car sale than a wedding, but because of the prices we went ahead and put money down. We wanted to get a bit ahead of ourselves, so we put more than the minimum requirement down. This was well over a year in advance. Less than a month later, S**t happens and there wasn't going to be a wedding. We cancelled our use of the room there. When we did this we were told we can get a full refund if the room was booked. We argued that we gave more than the minimum and that they had a year to find alternate accommodations for the room. We were told that we would be contacted when the room was booked. We felt this was pretty ridiculous considering they didn't have to do anything our behalf yet, and we almost immediately cancelled. We further felt it was ridiculous since there is no salesmanship to their process. We came to them. Which is probably why the room wasn't booked. George is also a very quick talker. He will agree to anything you are saying, but he is not actually listening. This was bad from the get go, however the prices were what made us give them thought. This is probably why their prices are low...you get what you pay for. Well, we got it alright. For the practically "0" service we were provided and for the immediate cancellation, not only did they pocket the down payment. They chose to keep all are money. We tried to argue that even if this was in the contract, we should only be liable for the minimum down payment. Tom recalculated what the down payment should be and made up a number higher than our original quote and said we didn't even come up with the full down payment and that they were right in keeping the whole sum. I would have accepted a compromise, but I guess some people are more than happy to keep your money and provide no service for it. So again, don't trust your special day and your memories of a lifetime to this establishment and these two men. read more

My husband found a venue that he was convinced was the one, was ready to sign on the dotted line and told me to cancel our first meeting with the Cotillion. Thankfully, we never cancelled that meeting. From the second we walked into the Cotillion, we felt like family. George was nothing short of amazing to work with. We sat down with him on three different occasions to go over every detail and ensure nothing was missed. He was so detailed in each meeting, we never really had to follow up via email or phone call. He worked within our budget and made gave us everything we wanted and then some to make our day amazing. On the day of the wedding, he was attentive to us and made sure everything was perfect. We recently had our wedding at The Cotillion Banquets and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone for their next event. I had been to a few other banquet halls but this one definitely blew them all out of the water. First off customer service was beyond wonderful. We worked with Tom, one of the owners, and he was extremely patient and accomodating to anything that we needed. He stayed late finalizing everything with us a week before the wedding because my mom and I couldn't agree on the color of the chair tie. Most other places have terrible customer service and once you book with them they don't take the time to listen to any of your requests. As for the interior this place is beautiful! You can definitely tell that they have paid attention to every detail, from the updated carpeting, to the beautiful chandeliers, as well as all the extras they have to offer such as uplighting. When you step through their doors you feel like you are in another more glamorous world. One of the main reasons that we chose this vendor was because of the food. No other place will let you sample the food before you book with them but Tom allowed us to sample a few choices before choosing them. Their food was exceptional and all the guests were raving about it after the wedding. Nothing is precooked and then reheated, but rather cooked during the actual wedding so that the food arrived steaming and fresh and seasoned to perfection. We had the broiled filet mignon, the chicken stuffed with ham and cheese and the salmon as 3 options offered to the guests which is a lot more options than most places will allow you to offer. Also, the open bar that they offered including many many different kinds of drinks so the options were much more numerous than most other places. They also have a cake vendor that they work with and the cake was not only delicious but very beautiful! There is a golf course across the street that allowed us to take photos there before the reception so that was an added bonus, although there is a $25 fee for booking the course for 1 hour of photos. However, it was not only beautiful but also extremely convenient that it was across the street from the hall. Bottom line is this place is AMAZING and if you are tired of looking at banquet hall after banquet hall and getting frustrated with everything then this place will have everything you need! read more

My daughter had her wedding reception at The Cotillion in July of 2014. We came upon The Cotillion in quite an unusual way. We had another venue booked and had a large deposit put down when they unexpectedly closed their doors. As a panicked mother of the bride, I started calling friends immediately and asking for recommendations. My daughter (the bride) was working and asked my son and I to go and look at The Cotillion and check it out for her. From the moment we pulled in to the parking lot we liked the place. Upon walking in, we met George whom I had spoken on the phone with and explained our situation. He told us he would do anything he could to help us out. He gave us a tour and we loved the place. He gave us all of the information to bring home for my daughter and also gave me a bottle of wine for me to deliver to her. He was so caring and compassionate and I loved his attention to detail. Within a few days we had our tasting. The food was wonderful! As my daughter and son in law were asking George and Tom questions, their answers were always yes. They told us to get what we wanted there, and they would take care of anything we needed them to. They paid such great attention to detail, that nothing was missed on the big day. The big day came. When I arrived, I couldn't believe how beautiful everything was. Not a detail was missed. The food was magnificent! I had many guests tell me it was the best wedding meal they had ever had, and a couple people told me it was the best filet they had ever had. The wedding cake was also included in the package. The Cotillion uses The Baking Institute. This process was so easy. We brought a picture of what we wanted the cake to look like to our tasting. The cake turned out beautiful and delicious. We also had a sweet table which was unbelievable. It was like nothing I've ever seen or tasted. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, especially the Mother of the Bride! Thank you George and Tom. You guys took care of everything and made it possible for me to really be able to enjoy my daughter's big day and not worry about a thing. In October 2016 we had visited several banquet halls in the area. We were not impressed with any of them and had felt like we had lost hope until we called up George at the Cotillion and set up an appointment that same day. As soon as we walked in we felt very welcome. It was like love at first sight. The place was pristine. George took us on a tour of the whole facility, including the kitchen. Im sure no other banquet hall would ever show you their kitchen, but the Cotillions is very clean. George made us feel like we would actually be taken care of here, unlike the others where we were just another couple getting married. The food is outstanding. Never have we walked out of a banquet hall saying the food was excellent, but we were able to say that here, and all of our guests could say the same. We even had George participate in a video we filmed, which he gladly agreed to do and knocked it out of the park. Tom the owner was very nice and was seen many times helping out with everything. I don't think you will see an owner doing the dirty work anywhere else. In the end, we could not be happier we chose the Cotillion for our wedding. George, Tom and their entire staff made our fairytale wedding come true! Wow highly recommend booking your wedding or any other event at the Cotillion. I never write reviews but had to for this event. The Cotillion banquets is hands down the best place to have a special event. Our extended family has used this place for everything and it's always been amazing but I, personally just had my first event and it was everything I could have wanted and more. I worked with owner/event coordinator, Tom and he made my job as the host stress free. He was so easy to work with, took the time to get to know our family so that the event was customized to our enjoyment. He made it so easy working out a menu, set up, details and was flexible with changes. He even helped work our event wherever he was needed. Secretary Barb was always connected and checked in with calls. George, who did not personally work our event planning was always pleasant when we went in and helped when we needed it. The staff was SO nice, professional and fast. The bartenders really had their work cut out for them and they were never rude and never got backed up. A room full of restauranteurs were blown away by the top quality food and the way it was cooked. Props to the chef! Cotillion made wonderful recommendations for contracting out their preferred baker who was also fabulous. The whole place (banquet rooms, bathrooms and parking) is clean, well kept up with and beautiful. I would 100% use this place for all of my events. It's hard to hit a home run in all aspects of an operation this big but they do it! Thank you Cotillion Banquets for a memorable baptism for our son. You guys are the best in the business! read more

Ok so here I go.... I just got married st the Cotillion on 10/14/17. I came to the Cotillion just weeks after being engaged and met George. Due to me being very hard headed, having trust issues, and stubborn; I thought he was all talk with the stuff he was saying. He showed me the entire place, spent his time with me, told me if a banquet does not show you the kitchen , be very careful if you pick them. I went to many many other banquet halls and I would ask to see the kitchen and they wouldn't allow me. The kitchen at the banquet is huge and spotless. I brought my parents and they immediately fell in love; I thought if George can handle my family, then I'm making the right decision. The entire process George made me feel so comfortable and so important and valued as if I was his only customer. Respond to emails and phone calls the same day. If you get to know George, you'll think he sleeps at the banquet! He really spends his time with you making sure you are happy. The week of the wedding, I was so stressed and he kept telling me to relax he will take care of everything. The day of the wedding, I was speechless. The entire room was exactly what I had pictured. He was in and out of the room the entire night making sure everything was ok and was so attentive. I cried tears of happiness at one point of the night when I hugged George. This review is long overdue. My husband and I hosted our wedding reception here back in May of 2012 and it was amazing. We dealt with Tom and he was extremely honest, upfront and very kind. He was also quite accommodating. When we first went to visit he took his time to go over every detail and even showed us the kitchen, which we were asking of all the venues we went to, but he was one of a few places that showed us the kitchen and he was the only one to offer before we even asked! It is also nice to know that one of the owners (Dimitri) runs the kitchen. I felt that this ensured that a quality product would come out. The tasting was easy to schedule and the food was delicious. Their vendor for the cake was easy to work with as well. Everyone who came to the wedding thought the venue was beautiful and the food was delicious. We had an issue with one of the wedding guests and Tom handled it professionally and discretely, so much so, that I would have never known had I not received an apology letter from that guest. I would recommend the Cotillion to anybody looking for a stunning venue with great food that is easy to work with! read more

I had my wedding at the Cotillion on Friday July 25th. I was originally supposed to have my reception at Bristol Court Banquets in Mount Prospect. After they went bankrupt in March and I lost a lot of money I was in a scramble to find a new reception hall. The Cotillion was recommended to me by a friend. We went in and talk to George and Tom and they were amazing. They took my contract from Bristol Court and put a customized package together for me. They then gave me a ridiculously amazing price for everything that they were giving me. They didn't have to do this for me, but they sympathized with me and everything that I had gone through. Everyone at the Cotillion was amazing. My mom and I called and asked questions all the time and they were always kind and answered them all. They are very professional and want your event to be special. I had the most wonderful time at my wedding. The food is absolutely fantastic here and I would recommend that everyone look here if you are getting married. They will take such wonderful of you and will pretty much do anything you ask. I loved working with George he is awesome. My wedding was two weeks ago and I still have my guests telling me how much fun my reception was and how great the food was.
