There's a lot of stress planning a wedding but the team at the Cotillion, especially working with George, made the day effortless on mine behalf and I didn't have to worry about a thing when it came to the reception. He made sure that we had a timeline for the night and advise us when we should cut the cake to our first dance and all the important details so our photographer can get those important pictures without the servers in our pictures. The venue was absolutely beautiful from all of the decors to every details on the each tables. The team at the Cotillion was very accommodating and worked with our budget and even went out of their way to help our vendors set up and letting my husband and I practice our first dance in another room while they set up. The servers and bartenders gave one of the best services to all of our guests which is amazing and very important to us. Our guests rave about the amazing food and the venue. George and his team are the of the best in the wedding business!

Me and my Wife can't recommend Cotillion Banquets enough! We had our wedding reception here and it was the best experience of our lives! The banquet was beautiful, the food was amazing, the price was far better than any comparable banquet hall, but most of all the coordinator George was amazing! He accommodated our wishes perfectly, he was super attentive and dedicated, and our night went perfectly! Seriously, stop looking and have your event at the Cotillion. I could not have been happier with our choice. Thank you George and Cotillion Banquets for making our wedding night amazing!

I am so excited to write this review. While, I have not actually been here for a special event, quite yet, I have just booked my wedding reception here over the weekend. After visiting about 12 places, we found that the Cotillion was the most beautiful, easy-to-get-to, and have the best food. You get what you pay for, ladies and gents. And this place is proof. It was a little more than I was hoping to pay, but I just know my wedding will be gorgeous Thanksgiving weekend 2012. It's a luxurious facility with delicious food and an even better staff. Tom is one of the owners we have been working with and he has been nothing but helpful. He has an excellent attitude and is very honest. Being in sales, myself, I know a good sales person, and he is a no-pressure kinda guy---a lot like me, in that way. They arranged for us to have a pre-tasting before booking and even held the room we wanted for us without a deposit before-hand. We went in for a pre-tasting and in about my third bite, I was sold. Just waited there for my fiance to say something and he sure did. We booked our reception about 30 minutes later and were on our marry way. I made sure to scope out the place for handicap accessibility and their side entrance has a nice little overhang where my elders can get into and out of the facility easily. It's a beautiful place with chandeliers, a family owned atmosphere and great food. I can not wait to celebrate our wedding here and more importantly, I can not wait to get married! I'm certain our guests will have a spectacular time. Keep your eye on my reviews for an update coming December 2012....

Their day was great…read morethanks to all their wonderful vendors they worked with but the unprofessionalism of the new banquet manager at The Grove's was ridiculous. It started by her adding approximately $1000 dollars of additional "charges" that were clearly 'included' in the contract if the banquet manager would have read the contract. The bride had to exchange countless emails/texts proving these additional items were included before the manager would remove them from the bill and would never acknowledge her mistakes. The banquet manager did not write most things down during discussions and this resulted in a lack of confidence that the wedding day would go as planned. It simply added unnecessary stress to the bride, groom and parents to the point as we had to remind her of the same things over and over again and even make 'day of' fixes to things that were incorrect. We lost so much confidence in this woman that we requested the old banquet manager be present the day of the wedding to help assure things would go smoothly. The final straw was when The Grove overcharged for the wedding cake by approximately $500 and blamed it all on the bakery. We reached out directly to the bakery and compared their invoice to the invoice The Grove provided and the difference of $500 was obvious. The problem was that BOTH invoices had the bakery's logo on them. So ONE of those invoices was 'doctored' to make it look like the bakery overcharged The Grove which was proven not true by the bakery! This entire thing appeared very dishonest and misleading. We brought this up to The Grove a couple days after the wedding(as to not affect the wedding day) and the Club Manager at The Grove promised to look into it. It's now been 2+ weeks with several emails and phone calls and NO RESPONSE AT ALL from The Grove!! All we are asking for is an explanation and a reimbursement for the obvious over charge. Anyone having their event at The Grove, please make sure you check your invoice thoroughly and be prepared to micro-manage the banquet manager on a daily basis leading up to your special day!

Absolutely Appalling Experience - Do Better, Grove Country Club…read more I'm writing this review out of sheer frustration after being completely ignored for over two weeks by the management at The Grove Country Club. I hosted a surprise party for my husband's 60th birthday on March 28 -- a milestone moment that should have been joyful and memorable. Instead, it was an absolute disaster from the moment I walked in. I have never in my life been treated with such disregard by a so-called "professional" venue. Let me be perfectly clear: the service was atrocious, the staff was untrained and indifferent, and the experience was utterly humiliating. Your manager, Jake, promised a follow-up "in a couple of days." It's now been over 3 weeks. No call. No email. Nothing. That level of indifference to a paying customer is disgraceful and shows a complete lack of professionalism and accountability. Your bartender disappeared for over an hour -- allegedly hiding under the bar table. Yes, really. No explanation given. The liquor we received wasn't even what I ordered. The food? Inedible. I had requested a Greek menu -- what I got was a lazy, flavorless mess. The chicken and pork were dry and unseasoned, the vegetables were undercooked and tasteless, and the Briam? I've had better versions in college cafeterias. How any of this passed as "catering" is beyond me. To make matters worse, your staff helped themselves to desserts before the guests were even served. Then, at the end of the night, we were told to pour our own drinks from bottles tossed in a bucket. I paid for a full-service bar package, not a frat party. The lack of professionalism was staggering. Lisa, one of your staff members, was sweet and kind and trying to hold things together. But not even she could salvage the wreck this night turned into. I had to micromanage every detail of my own event, something I paid you to do. And what's your idea of an apology? A $100 gift card. A token gesture that does nothing to make up for a night ruined, food wasted, and memories tainted. Do you really think I'd wanna go back there after my experience with the horrible food? All I've asked for is a serious conversation with ownership. I have been more than patient. But i write all my reviews because I continue to be ignored, Put yourself in my position: would you be okay with this? I strongly advise others to think twice before booking anything at The Grove Country Club. My experience was not just disappointing -- it was insulting.

Let me just say, the lady checking me in was excellent! So kind and informative! I am seeing all these bad reviews and confused as heck. I paid $109 for a king bed on a Saturday for a fabulous hotel. They must have made some huge changes since these reviews were written. My room was very clean and very organized, with everything you could want in a room! Nice bathroom, a microwave, a fridge, a beautiful view out the window, coffee and even a couple bottles of water waiting for me in the room. It was very comfortable and warm in the cold Chicago weather. Very minor things that are wishes, but totally not necessary, I wish they had Bravo on their TV lineup lol. And they only had soap and lotion in the bathroom. Neither was a problem for me - just would be fun extras. Bed was comfy, got some great sleep! Their lobby is wonderful with a warm fire, many seating options, and an array of drinks and snacks! What more could you ask for in a hotel!? I'd stay here again in a second!

The bays are large and nicely setup. Player setup was pretty easy. The course choices were plenty but I wish I had more. The staff came pretty quick and asked for if we wanted food or drinks. I just wanted water while the others got beers and food. I had a few cheese curds and french fries. The curds were good and the fries were ok. The staff continued to check on us while we were playing. As far as the golf, it was not your typical simulator. The big differences were: mat moved depending on ball lie, there were mats rough, fairway, and sand shots. It gave a decent real course experience. We did have an issue with the bay and they couldn't fix it but they mixed us to another bay and gave us more time for the issues. We played for 4 hours and played 18. We are usually hitting at the same time in a real course if we are walking. In a sim, we have to hit one at a time. Overall, the service, food, and the golf were great. I'd come back here again! Also, this was really realistic cause my score was pretty high.

What makes this even more frustrating is that their official Instagram page clearly stated that the unlimited drinks were available for the entire event. That was simply not true. After the match ended, we wanted to buy just one beer each, but one of the employees refused to serve us. When we asked why, he said he had "decided" that we were drunk. Our group included people who hadn't had a single alcoholic drink because they were driving. When I asked why he wouldn't sell beer to those people, he gave the same answer: "I decided you were drunk." I then asked whether he had actually seen those people drinking alcohol. His answer was no-he admitted he hadn't, but said he had simply decided not to serve us anyway. This place feels like a scam. You pay expecting unlimited drinks for the whole event, but instead you only get a few drinks until the 60th minute. When I asked where, during the booking process, it stated that unlimited drinks ended at the 60th minute, the staff admitted that it wasn't written anywhere.
