My experience w/ Novella, proved to be exactly what my friend said. First off, she is VERY PROFESSIONAL, and nowadays it's rare that you find that in a stylist. The salon and Novella are very welcoming. The atmosphere of the salon is a breath of fresh air! She is very knowledgeable about her craft/skill of cosmetology. On to my hair. I was in need of a good, professional cut, as my hair was very damaged. I told her what I wanted and she did just that, which was an inverted bobb w/ a slant bang. She did a strand test before putting chemicals on my hair and informed me of every product she was using without me having to ask. She answered all my questions in full detail & the salon has really nice extras to go above and beyond with our service (drink and snack machine, tables to do work while drying, places for our stuff that are visible to us). She even asked before doing little things like flipping my ends which most stylists will just do. I'm very pleased and it is clear she works for every penny she makes! So then I had to go to the atm. I work in hospitality and always tip well but given the price tag to trim my sons hair and the trip to the atm I didn't leave any extra. I was also confused as on their site a men's cut starts at $25 so how I ended up getting charged $35 I'll never know. Instead, I had a patch of bright yellow bleached hair, bright orange stripes, and no highlights on the back of my head. I had my hair done on the 31st at 5pm and left her salon at 7pm. I saw how my hair looked in my car and freaked out. I called her immediately asking for refund. On the phone, she said she will give me a refund because I didn't trust her to fix my hair again. Then, she texts me within few minutes saying she won't give me a refund because I'm not letting her fix my hair. They way she damaged my hair, I will NOT let you fix my hair. She blocked my number, so I called her with a different number to try and get a refund. She hung up and still doesn't want to give me a refund. Since I left her appointment at 7pm, I went to a different Professional hairstylist to fix the damage. It took 9pm to 12am for the different hairstylist to fix. The professional hairstylist gave me her professional advice that this lady DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HAIR. As a business owner, you did not properly complete your service. My hair was completely BOTCHED. If you want to be a hair stylist, take action for your mistakes. No customer should be treated this way.
