A year ago, this would've been a bad review. But a bad review wouldn't have been fair. I've eaten here many times since I was a boy. That was the only time that I ran into poor service. Huge portions, good food, excellent service!

I have been to a Cotton Patch in another town so i was excited to eat there. We got there at 8pm. It took about 10 minutes for our server to even take our drink order. We ordered appetizers and they arrived pretty quickly. Unfortunately our dinner didn't get to the table until after 9. We waited over an hour to get our food. The place wasn't busy and customers that arrived after we did got their food first. She apologized for the wait but honestly, i saw her standing at the kitchen window a good portion of the time. It's not because they were busy or understaffed. The food was ok, at best, but the lack of service was awful. I can usually overlook ok food or ok service, but not both. Go somewhere else. read more

Very poor take out experience especially during this time got the wrong order I had went back after I had called them to get my right Order and they didn't have it ready at all so I had continue to wait and no one assistance me until 10 mins later just got them to say my remake wasn't ready this is the last time give business to any cotton patch it's not worth it With it's low quality food and very poor customer service if only the owners knew the truth lol. read more

Chicken fried steak was a bit chewy for me, but that's a strokes and folks thing. The sweet potato fries were excellent with the honey mustard sauce. Waitress was friendly, fast and efficient. Quiet place to enjoy a meal. read more

I suggested this place to meet with my family on Sunday. The food was good the service sucked. The waiter was mote interested in talking to the waitresses than making sure we had the things we were supposed to have...most importantly silverware. It seemed a struggle for him to get it together. Then in then middle of our meal the Waianae one of the waitresses decide it would be a good time to sweep the carpet, enter the dust and God knows what else all around our table....meal over....we won't be going back again. This used to be a restaurant that could be trusted for delicious home style food and extremely courteous staff. Tonight could not have been further from the truth. After having two large groups who arrived after us being seated ahead of our large group, we were treated rudely by the less than useless hostess. We were also informed that even though tables were available for us to be seated at that we weren't going to be seated. After being treated with indifference when we asked if our business wasn't appreciate and needed to be taken elsewhere we left. Take your business elsewhere if you want to be appreciated as a customer. read more

I come here occasionally when I am craving home style food. Usually everything is fine, but sometimes I get a bad waiter/waitress that completely drops the ball. I have learned to simply explain that I expect a great experience today, use their name often, and I usually have a good experience. Treat them like people, and it helps everything. The food usually comes out hot, but a couple of times my sides are cold. I don't have to wait too long, usually, but they do have more off days than you would think. read more

The service My family and I received this afternoon was awful. Myself and my dad are currently trying to cut down on carbs and we asked if we could substitute the rice included with the meal for another side. Instead of asking the management, like she so quickly did when someone tried to order meat loaf, she rudely replied saying we can only have two sides. I understand that it might not have had an option of substitute but her rudeness was uncalled for. We will most likely not return because of poor service. read more

Fried food heaven! Stopped for lunch while visiting Plainview and got the waitress recommended chicken fried steak. It was cooked with a light crunchy crust that held up to the generous amount of well spiced cream gravy. Two large mounds of garlic mashed potatoes and black eyed pea's and of course more gravy, completed the plate. The steak was not super tender but I rather enjoyed the chewy nature of it. Later I found out this was a chain restaurant but if others take such care in food preparation they would be worth a try also. read more

I went with my basketball team after a playoff game, we lost, and there was roughly 24 of us total. The manager (I think) seemed a little frantic and wasn't extremely nice but the rest of the staff was nice and helpful. The chicken fried chicken is some good shit. read more

I can't get enough of their fried green tomatoes!!! They're perfect all the way around!! This was the best part of my experience here. My main entree was the pot roast and it was good when not covered in the additional brown gravy sauce. The pot roast already has its own gravy and it's fine this way. It's a little too saucy when they add an additional brown sauce on top. The baked squash (side item) was not savory. The staff was EXCELLENT! And WOW is this place clean!! There is always someone sweeping up the carpet. Can't wait to save room for dessert next time! read more

Ordered Chicken Fried Steak and Meatloaf Dinners for Curbside pickup. Had to call in order to obtain 2 extra rolls as no options available on website. When called to notify them present to bring out food, had to wait 3 minutes for phone line to become "unbusy". After order was picked up, received a phone call about 2 minutes later that they had forgotten to include Cobbler which I had ordered. When meal arrived home, found that not only did I not have the additional rolls, I had no rolls at all. I called back, and the person answering the phone when I asked for the manager, told me with a huff in her voice that she was the manager. I could go back and pick them up if I wanted. I told her that by the time I did that my food would be cold. I told them to just credit me. After I began eating, the chicken fried steak was so overcooked that it had black spots in the breading, and the meat was definitely dead. Do not really care to have that experience again, as I had saved up my pension money for a month and a half to enjoy the meal. read more

This Resturant was so dirty. Walls had never been cleaned and the floors were awful. Food is not good at all. The cooks never wore aprons and they were texting on their phones. The food prep never had on gloves. The waiter was nice but always forgot he had our table. I would not recommend this place. read more

I've eaten here twice when visiting Plainview. Excellent service. Excellent food. Always prepared wonderfully. We were staying in Plainview for one night on a cross county trip. We found this place and decided to give it a try as my husband is a BIG fan of chicken fried steak. After being seated promptly our waiter came immediately and got our drink orders while we checked out the menu. There are many items to chose from and a lot of 'southern meat and potato' options as well as healthy choices. My hubby got his chicken friend steak, grilled mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. It was a very good sized portion. He gave me a taste of the steak and it was very good. He was a happy camper. I wasn't very hungry so I order the chicken tortilla soup. It was excellent. They give you a side of diced avocado, shredded cheese, fresh pico, and tortilla strips. The soup was not as hot as I would have liked but it was still tasty. Oh yes, when you get the drinks they bring a warm roll and butter which was pretty tasty. The desserts looked amazing but we were too full to try them. For good down home southern cooking I would say this is the place. Our waiter was excellent, the meal was inexpensive..$18 including tea. We will sure go back even if we weren't staying for the night as we travel this route 2 times a year. read more
