The only plus about this location is the food is somewhat standard. Drink order was taken at seating, 15 minutes later was notified they dont have coke, 10 minutes later the drinks arrived. Order was taken 25 minutes after being seated and it took 35 minutes for the food to arrive with an empty restaurant. Now that the bill is here they are in a hurry. read more

We came in at 4:40 am, and our server was very cheerful, polite, attentive and friendly. Our food took about 20 minutes to arrive, despite being the only ones in the restaurant. The front entrance floor was either stained or dirty, probably the latter. We ordered 2 omelets with pancakes and a kids meal. The presentation of the adult meals were pretty good, but the kids meal looks terrible. We got the new Cannoli pancakes, which looks amazing, and wasn't overly sweet. Good presentation. He got the churro pancakes. The churro pancakes were hard to cut through and kinda chewy. The churros were a bit greasy and I personally didn't like them. Kids cupcake pancake looks terrible, the pancakes was pretty dark, and the sprinkles were melted all over making it worse. Since moving to Plainview i've been to iHop twice. The first experience was terrible.I can only assume it's because they seemed very busy and had ONE server cover one whole side of the place. We were a party of three so we didn't really have a good experience considering all the other parties were big groups. The second time, it was only my girlfriend and I. We went a little after the Sunday lunch rush, they didn't look to busy, just slammed with having to clean up all the tables. We were sat within 5 minutes, our servers name was Christina, she made our experience so great! I really had my doubts about a second chance here, but i'm glad we came! I had the breakfast sampler and an iced coffee (vanilla), food was great, coffee was amazing, my girlfriend had the country fried steak with eggs meal, it was lightly coated and not drowned in gravy! Christina, the food runners, the hostess and the cooks all really outdid themselves that day. Will be back, and will def. ask to be served by Christina next time read more

My kids and I stopped here to get some breakfast. We stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes. No one even acknowledged us. So I asked do we seat our selves. She said yes. So we sat down at a booth and the waitress walked by several times not even acknowledging us. We sat there about 10 more minutes waiting for someone to come take our drink order. No one did!! Right before we walked out the people that was coming in was acknowledged and sat down. It's BS that we was totally ignored. The couple that walked in 5 minutes before us was served and taken care of. I have waitressed for years. If you get more than 1 table at a time you should let the other customers know that you will be with them in a few minutes. Not totally ignore them. Looks like Plainview IHOP needs a new manager that knows what the Hell they are doing and train their servers right. It wasn't even busy at all!!! read more

The food was good, overall the place was clean however I did not visit the restroom. They did have staff cleaning it. The waitress was not as attentive as you would expect, the wait time was a little too long considering there were only 3 families there. I guess it wasn't a bad experience but definitely not a great one. read more

I asked for a refill on water after she first brought them out. I drank half of it immediately. Waited 30 mins before finally catching her waiting on another table. We waited close to twenty minutes for a table for four, while they only had 5 tables ocupied in the whole restraunt.. there was a table of 30 waiting to be seated so the sitting area was very crowded, instead of seating the small parties while they got the big tabke ready, the manager/hostess leaves us all standing there and starts waitressing, taking orders and running to the kitchen putting in orders. my group and I finally got seated but the party of 30 got sick of waiting and left. Well I called in an order at 9:58 pm, phone rang for nearly a minute before someone picked up, I placed my order for a Philly cheese steak sandwich with a side of fruit. I was told it would would be around 10 minutes for it to be ready. I show up at 10:20 and they had about 3 parties waiting to be seated, I waited my turn and nothing was moving, not that they were busy because they weren't, I saw roughly 5 tables with customers, and they had at least 4 servers. Well, 2 of the party's waiting left because they had been there for 20 minutes waiting, finally I get my order which had been ready for a while now. I cashed out, and I saw the clock, it was 10:45 when I got my order! And the food was sub par, the bread was tough to bite into, the steak was ok but it would've been better if it had been fresh instead of it sitting there for the texture and flavor the steak to be alerted. my food was more than lukewarm. It had been my first time there in months, and I was disappointed to say the least. Go there but don't expect great service, very rarely will you get it. read more
