Our food was very good. However the ambiance was not there since it felt like we were in a child daycare. Children were crying, running from table to table and parents were not fazed in the least. I realize you have very little control with the parents. At prices these days and after raising 4 kids myself (if my children acted out or cried they were taken outside out of respect for the other patrons) I find it an unpleasant evening out. It was not just us that were affected .... Other tables around us commented and were displeased as well. Someone commented that when they came in there were very few diners .... His comment was it was probably due to the kiddos! Maybe my next review could be a bit more positive because the food was very good. We waited 20 minutes for drink and bread, the waiter refilled multiple of our iced teas with water because they had been empty for 30 minutes and then joked saying "well now they have water in a snarky tone" was not appreciated at all. 3. Horrible dining experience tonight. Ordered a steak with baked potato and mac. Meal arrived at the table, but as soon as I placed my fork on the meat, it was obvious that it wasn't prepared correctly. I ordered medium well; what arrived was closer to mid rare. I finally got wait staff's attention and requested a re-fire. He grabbed a plate to take the steak and left me with the sides. When the steak returned, I had a dry piece of meat that had been placed back on the fire and cooked to the quality of leather. While waiting, my sides were now cold and unappetizing. I hate to be the one who has to send food back, but I also want it cooked properly. I have been a frequent customer here for many years, but tonight I'm leaving very unsatisfied. The okra is cut in halves, and the breading is good but it was cold. The salad is always dependable. The service was a little lacking. My rating is a very soft 4-star. More of a 3.5 rounded up. I've been here numerous times and it seems like management and waiters are always having to make up for the kitchen. I last visited with my grandparents for their anniversary. Most of our food was fine. The stuffed mushrooms appetizer rocks! My grandmother got a great steak but the lobster tail alongside it was no longer hot. The Flo's Filet I ordered was not medium rare - the way I always order my filet cooked. In fact it was the most strangely cooked steak I've ever seen. It was cooked medium well halfway through one side, with a significant amount of crunchy surface char on the outside. Whereas the other side was cooked medium to about halfway through and without char at all on that side. The chef either had no idea what they were doing or, more likely, they forgot my steak, realized it, then tossed it on the plate and hoped for the best. As mentioned, the manager and waiter were on top of things. When my grandma complained, the manager came by the table and was very friendly. He comped the lobster without question. Not wanting to fuel the fire, and never one to waste any meat, I didn't even mention the problem with my steak. In any case, management rocks, but if they want to keep my rating, the food prep quality needs major improvement. read more

A group decided to eat at Longhorn on a Thursday night. We came in pretty late... and another large group decided to come in at the same time. The hostess eventually made arrangements so that both parties could be served. Andres was assigned as our waiter and he started taking drink orders even before the last of our group was seated. The food was delicious, as usual - I had a chicken fried steak and their gravy is thick and rich. Andres did his best to keep glasses full. There was some confusion when splitting tickets (there were 18 of us in 4 different groups), but Andres sorted it all out and was a good sport the whole time. I had a good time, celebrating my 75th birthday with my wife. We spent the time quietly just enjoying the experience and each other. I had a perfectly prepared Outlaw Ribeye and my wife enjoyed a Ribeye steak. The service was excellent neither nonexistent nor overwhelming. I eat here usually once a week, filet is always as I order, medium rare with sweet potato or broccoli and the bread is great. I see some irritated at service or slow etc. you have to expect some of that when you go at 12 lunch rush or Sat. after a Tech game etc. I am retired and go 11-12 or 1 -2:30 during the week so I never have any wait. My husband and I went the location on south loop 289 to celebrate Father's Day and had a horrible experience. 1. When we arrived, about a third of the restaurant was empty tables and a long line of people waiting to be seated. 2. The Hostesses have no idea how to run a wait, we were told there was a 20-30 minute wait. After 25 minutes we went to check on our status and were told that there were still quite a few people in front of us and still about a fourth of the tables were unseated. 3. We decided to eat in the bar and of course we were never offered menus, so I went and got some. There appeared to be 2 or 3 bartenders, 2 of which quickly left, leaving 1 bartender. She came over to our table and took our drink order and returned with our drinks and some bread. After about 15 minutes she came back for our dinner order. 4. After waiting about 20 minutes for our salads we finally gave up and left. 5. The restaurant had a lot of staff and appeared to have a couple of managers. The bartender seemed to be the only staff member who was actually working hard, she had a full bar, 5 tables, plus drink orders for the entire restaurant. The problem was no one else was working efficiently. The mangers never checked on the patrons, the servers were not hustling and there was no one to help the 1 bartender out. My husband and I have worked in the restaurant industry years ago and could not believe how incredibly poorly run this restaurant is. When the salad is the best part of your meal at a steakhouse, you know you've got problems. Ordered my NY strip medium-rare and it was cooked medium-well. The parmesan crust seemed to be more cream than actual cheese and didn't add much to the entree. On the whole, this was a substandard steak. Also ordered the Texas T Onion, which was just fine and also huge. Definitely an appetizer for a group. And the salad really was outstanding, but that won't feed the bulldog. Had dinner there about a month ago, the food and the service were spot on. Not so much last night.... My spouse and I took one of my clients there for dinner last night. WOW....what a mistake!!! We ordered a drink and an appetizer it took 20 minutes to get our drinks. Then after we finish our appetizer it took another 20 minutes for the waitress to come over and take our dinner order. My spouse and I split a dinner and we specifically ask for an extra plate and an side order of fried okra for the table. Our dinner finally arrived 30 minutes after we ordered without the bottle of wine we ordered nor the extra plate or the okra side. All of these were missing. We told four different people including the manager that we needed an extra plate and it still took another 20 minutes to get the plate. By then, my client was upset and finished with his dinner while I hadn't even started mine, and when I did get to start on my dinner it was cold. The manager came over and apologized, but did not offer any concession. And I was shocked when I saw the bill and nothing was taken off. We got there a little before 6:00 and what should have been an hour maybe an hour and 15 minute dinner was well over two and a half hours we left there at 8:30. I will never be back!!! read more

We went here on a Thursday at 12:30 and it was busy, but we were still seated right away (party of 2) and the service time was reasonable. The waitress was helpful during ordering. The restaurant dining room and tables seemed clean. Skip the shrimp and lobster chowder. Weird taste and only minimal chunks of shrimp and almost no lobster. That said, the rest of the meal was really good. They nailed the cook on our steaks and also on the grilled shrimp. Also, the steak had a really good flavor. We walked into the restaurant at 8:15. It was very crowded and we requested Kirk as our server. We were told that he had already been cut and that we would need someone else so we told him that was fine. We were seated in a booth back just passed the restroom doors. The hostess got us some water & bread. By 830 we still have not been waited on, so I went up to the front and told the group of young women that were standing around the hostess stand. I believe there were five women standing there. I went back to my booth and the manager stopped and spoke to a guy and he came to the table and said "I hear you're ready to order, get with it." I looked at him and I told him we will get with it because we're leaving and we got up to leave. I stopped at that same group of women and asked for the manager. One of them went to get her and I waited five more minutes. That woman finally came back to the front and she told me that the manager had gone back to talk to that guy. She never did come up there to talk to me, and I was the one that requested her. The last three times we have been here, the food is not what it used to be and the service is horrible! This place is next to a few other restaurants, we decided on this place last minute and had about a 30-45 minute wait, which was expected on a Friday night. There's lots of parking available, and the place was super clean! The hostess was very professional and polite when getting out info. You give them your number and you can check what place you are in line from your phone, once your table is ready you get a text! We ended up getting sat right in front of the kitchen, but surprisingly it wasn't loud. Our server was great! She seemed to be taking care of us, a few other tables a birthday group, she made sure our glasses were full and brought us out bread twice. She did an awesome job. When our food came, there was nothing to complain about. Everything was perfect. The quality of the food was great, the taste was amazing, it came out in good time, kudos to the kitchen wait staff and management because we even saw managers helping their crew during this busy time and that's very rare! Fantastic dinner and service! We arrived about 30 minutes prior to close. Clearly they were getting ready to close; but the bartender came out and greeted us promptly, entertained all our questions and banter. He gave intuitive suggestions and gave us a proper distinction between the temps for the steaks. (Varies from restaurant to restaurant depending on whose cooking) both of our steaks came out perfect, food here is phenomenal!! Drinks were great, restaurant was clean, and we never felt rushed. The manager was there as well and we all ended up chatting it up and had an an incredible meal with great folks! Consistently delicious. One of my favorite restaurants. We eat here often whether it's a quick to go trip or a pleasant dine in experience. The quality and quantity of the food both really stand out. I'd highly recommend trying their White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms, the Longhorn Salmon, and the Parmesan Crusted Chicken. The side salads served with the meals are plentiful and the sides are just as tasty as the main courses. The atmosphere and service both further add to the experience for the better. Very friendly staff The steak looks great but dont be fooled My steak was cooked okay -not great - and had a ton of fat and was raw near the bone so the fat was also raw Note I had gotten medium -medium rare so it was a bit off That didn't discourage me a lot it was more of the fact that it barely had any good meat in it I got the 22oz longhorn special ribeye with bone in which is pricier than the rest and I actually wish I had gotten a cheaper one cause half of it was just fat and tendons so I didn't really enjoy chewing and tearing through all that. I serisouly left half of the steak cause it was raw or too full of fat The rest was good but very basic The Manager and our server were super attentive and nice though so there's no problem with that. Update: it happened again. We got takeout, and one of the steaks ordered medium well was cooked medium rare. (And I use the term "cooked" loosely.) Also, my baked potato was salted all over the outside by the restaurant, so much so that it was difficult to finish it. My experiences here have been average. Sometimes, the food is well prepared, accurate, and delicious. Other times, it's average or pretty terrible. An example of a bad experience can be seen in the attached photos. Two steaks, one ordered well done and the other ordered medium well, both of them cooked medium or medium rare. For someone who finds a rare steak disgusting, this is horrendous. Another problem we encountered was with the fried okra. It's normally great, but one time they didn't cut up the okra; they just fried it whole, which wasn't nearly as good. Maybe they changed the way they cook it, but we've never seen it done that way. Since it was different from every restaurant that fries okra, including this one historically, it made us think that the cook just didn't know how to prepare it. Whatever the case, it was a disappointment. Their technical team also needs to work on some things. When trying to order, a layover came on the screen, but it was under the top of the browser window and there was no way to scroll up to see it. I ultimately had to zoom out in my browser to see the option and click it. I have worked with technology for a career for 20 years, don't install browser plug-ins, and I have a clean computer, so I know that this was simply a website problem. Additionally, when I was doing curbside pickup, the option to choose a parking spot on the website wouldn't respond. This was on my iPhone and not my computer where the ordering problem occurred. When I go to a steak house, obviously I expect the steak to be good. I got a 6 oz filet here and ordered it medium rare, but the steak that they gave me was still raw in the middle. This place is really expensive, and for the price, I should have gotten what I ordered. All of the appetizers and sides that I got were also really salty. The only thing that wasn't salty here was the bread. Now I understand that some places like to aggressively season their food and it's good sometimes, but the food here was just way too salty. Although I didn't like the food here, the customer service was really good. They fixed my steak when I told them that it was raw and they also gave me a free lobster mac and cheese. I thought about giving this place two stars, but when they "fixed" my steak, they cooked it to a medium instead of a medium rare. read more
