As a lifelong skier, the years were bound to catch up to me one day. That day came about five years ago. I put up with aches from skiing for the next three years. I thought it was normal to have some pain straightening up when getting out of bed in morning after two or three days of hard skiing at Snowbird. My friends got sore so I thought it was part of life. Then one morning I woke with a crink in my neck that did not go away after a few days. I've used chiropractors before, and I had a reference for the doctors at Cottonwood Chiropractic. I decide to go in to get a quick fix for my neck ache. I was told that they could adjust my sore neck though the intake would involve some procedures to take in the over all status of my spine. I agreed to it. After a discussion of the technique and going over the results, I signed up for the corrections and therapy advised by Dr. Ratcliffe and Dr. Katalina Dean. This type of chiropractic technique takes discipline from the patient. You have to do your home work, and you have to visit a few times a week. Does that sound intense? It is. The results speak for themselves. Fortunately that year, the snow was not tempting as it was a terrible winter. I committed to doing therapy and when the due date of March 1 came, I went skiing to Jackson Hole, Wy. I have not had back pain from skiing since doing therapy going on three years ago. I worked hard, and the therapy corrected the curve in my spine, allowed the discs to heal, and I am in great shape with good follow up care and exercise. I am not alone in this success story. As I told you, my friends and I have all skied and lived an active lifestlye. I have placed two other patients with CC and the results have been the same for them. They also were up for the commitment to the treatment and the homework. At middle age, if you've lived your life at all, you have some wear and tear, and modern life does not help any, sitting in office chairs, and using a mobile phone. This is the best chiropractor I've ever been to. I am a hair stylist and constantly on my feet and using my arms. Before dr. Dean introduced me to her practice I was in pain at the end of a work day. All I wanted to do was lay down. I also had pretty bad digestive issues. Dr. Dean explained to me you actually need your spine X-rayed once a year because if it's out of line it effects your entire body. I am only half way through treatment and my digestive is a lot better, my back is a lot better. Also I'm going to post my X-rays of my neck. Both Chiropractors in the office on most days you go in seem less than thrilled to be there, irritated to have to adjust you and never remember what your treatment plan is even though you are going in 3 times a week. The front desk receptionist is very nice and Ben the one who hooks you up to all the therapy machines is also great. If the chiropractors had the same work ethic and customer service as him it would have been a completely different experience. When you sign up for this they give you a big sales pitch with your significant other having to be present. You have to pay up front the $3600-$4000 and they won't allow you to pay for each appt. individually. The first appt. was great and then once we paid and got started it was just one thing after another. This is a 3 time a week commitment for at least 3 mths, you would think they would be very familiar with what they put together for your treatment plan and that you wouldn't have to remind them every time you walked in or constantly feel unsure about what they were doing. After seeing some other specialists and already paying them all this money I realized many things that we were doing there were actually causing me more damage and pain. read more

I travel around a lot for work so I spend a lot of time either sleeping on a couch, hotel bed, friends bed, or the floor, so my back is in a perpetual state of pain, a friend recommended them and Dr Dean fixed me right up! I went to Cottonwood Chiropractic in search of relief from chronic back pain that has only gotten worse in the past few years. There was so much I couldn't do due to my back problems and constant unrelenting pain. I already knew my spine was not quite straight but because I plan on having children very soon, I really wanted to at least make sure things wouldn't get worse if not fix them all together. After the initial exam and Xrays, I learned that the s curves in my spine were all off. My lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine curves were no where near where they should have been, and I have a scoliosis curve in my low back, as well. Being 5'11, I can't say I was too surprised, but I didn't realize things were quite so bad. But Dr Ratliff and Ben started me on traction therapy and set me up with massage therapist Janice, and soon both my lumbar curve and my thoracic curve have come all the way back into alignment after just a few months of traction. My daily pain has significantly reduced and my back is almost straight again.
