I think this is the closest grocery store to big bend from any direction (based on the map). It's a relatively small local place but they do have good stuff! There's a small beer and wine section, a small produce section, and of course they have plenty of pre packaged food and drinks in the back. They had pet food and gardening stuff in the front too. It's nice to have a little place like this in Study Butte for the community; I'd bet if you go a little farther eg into Terlingua there are other spots but this grocery store is like less than 10 mins from the entrance to big bend so it's very convenient if you need to pick something up on the way in or out of the park! read more

Well everyone says/recommends to get your grocery there. What they don't tell you that there is a dollar general a few yards away with a lot more groceries than the cottonwood. Selection is better. Meat looked old that had as well as other stuff did too. read more

"If they don't have it you don't need it!" That's what the locals told me when they recommended this place for picking up extra supplies on a trip out to Big Bend. I needed bug spray and some citronella candles to keep the bugs away after that awful first day of camping. This is the only store available in town and let me tell you, it has everything you could find/need from a big box store. I was amazed at how the owner keeps everything stocked and organize. One of the locals actually told me the owner 'takes request' for what to buy. This lady told me she is lactose intolerant and can only drink soy milk so she tells the owner to buy soy milk for her. Sure enough, he will get for you if you need it. If you like a certain brand of can soup, he will get it for you on his weekly shopping trip. He takes his trailer hitched to his truck all the way to Alpine once a week and buys supplies to sell at the store. And you thought your shopping list was long thinking about what this guy buys in bulk haha. I saw everything from cleaning supplies, frozen food to pet food and even electronics! Do keep in mind they do bring all these items from far away so that is reflected in the price you pay at the counter for these things. read more

The only decent grocery store I'm aware of in the area unless you want to drive a very long ways back to Marathon, Alpine or Marfa. To be honest, I'm not sure of the availability in the last two but they're well over an hour drive away, and Marathon only has the French Grocer which is somewhat limited. That said, pretty solid availability and is obviously serving this region with a little bit of everything. It's also part hardware store, part liquor store, etc. Only down side is don't expect a lot of fresh green vegetables. That's not necessarily the fault of the store I suspect. Anything that gets here also has to be driven a very long way in. On three visits for groceries, the cilantro was DOA. Laying flat and past due. Should have been tossed in my opinion. Also good: things like firewood for that Airbnb stay many here are engaging in. Camp fires are not allowed inside of the National Park but outside I'd guess no problem as long as you're very careful. We found the staff here to be engaged and friendly and pretty much everything we wanted we were able to pick up for our extended stay. Good to know as we travel to this area at least once a year but this was our first experience with the store. It's highly recommended. read more

I don't want to admit how many times we went here in five days but it was a lot! Nice little store packed full of goodies while you're visiting Terlingua and BBNP. Prices are a little inflated but thats expected and I was surprised at the quality of brands, like stuff you would find at Whole Foods and Sprouts then also regular Kroger and Target esque items. We grabbed fresh produce, snacks and stuff for dinner so we wouldn't have to eat out every meal. Staff was half and half with mask wearing and customers were mostly wearing masks. read more

An absolute gem of a place in the literal middle of nowhere. You'd think this place would have just the basics but no- they have so many amazing options from boutique to vegan to speciality to one of kinds to essentials. It was wild walking in here and seeing orange extract to bake a Bavarian chocolate cake using coconut flour and fresh almond milk. Like what!! Anyway, I just wanted a Gatorade zero and some Doritos after a hike at Big Bend and they had many options. It's only 20ish miles from the main trailheads. read more

You can truly get just about anything here...except decency. The older lady behind the counter was as rude as I have encountered. I am not sure if she didn't realise that we could hear her nasty remarks about other shoppers or the attitude when we went to purchase. She walked away mid service for us and made rude remarks about a very polite gentleman who was merely asking for a price on an item. Will not shop here again as I like to keep my dignity. Oh and a total lack of masks from either staff during a global pandemic was not a good look. read more

Nicely stocked grocery store right in front of big bend national park. This little store greatly exceeded our expectations for the location. It has just about anything you would need to make a meal.
