    The Candelilla

After driving and hiking all day, I must say this pizza REALLY hits the spot. Highly recommend. The restaurant is part of the country club, but they take orders for those unaffiliated as well. I ordered the Candelilla, which was absolutely delicious and pretty plentiful for a personal pie (was debating the medium pie just for myself as I was starving). All of the ingredients tasted fresh, and the crust was properly crisp, allowing it to sort of sustain its form while approaching the mouth. Overall, an awesome pizza. Staff is super chill and nice. Space isn't huge, but it was empty when I went, on a Thursday, around 5pm. Value: 4/5 Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

We ordered two double scoops and one cookie, and I was shocked that the total came to $20! Everything tasted fine, just a really high price tag. Cute ambiance and outdoor seating was great.

This is a really nice option at the Lajitas Golf Resort. It's a bakery and deli that also makes pizzas in the late afternoons. My husband got a sandwich and absolutely loved it! The vegetarian selection is more limited so I opted for the caprese salad. The nice thing about this place is that you can pick up food here and sit in some parts of the patio to enjoy the views! It's the best of both worlds! The only missing star is for lackluster service - when I asked the ladies behind the counter what vegetarian gluten-free options they might have, they just pointed me to pick up a menu and read for myself.

We went there for breakfast and got coffee, fresh yogurt parfaits, and a "Texas" cinnamon roll. It was all fantastic. We were treated well and everything went smoothly. Good enough that we are going back for dinner tonight! It is a wild place, so I'm not sure "hidden gem" is the best word to describe it, but it's worth going to. If you don't enjoy it, you're probably just an unhappy person on the regular.

This might be the only choice for breakfast in big bend state park so you don't really have a choice. They have decent food and drinks. The cinnamon buns are huge. The breakfast taco is just alright very basic. One of the girl behind the counter was rude, one of them didn't talk much. Maybe was because it was morning they were just not happy.

This has got to be one of the most underrated places in LaJitas. The other two restaurants in the resort have recently changed their hours and restricted to guests only- but the bakery is open to all. Great value for your food here with huge pizzas and sandwiches!

Very cute spot. A bit small but good food. The pizzas don't start being done until 3 so we got some bakery items. A huge cinnamon roll and some caprese salad. Also tried their ice cream which was very good. This spot is toward the back of the buildings (hotel). Cute spot to check out on your way through.

We got in later in the afternoon and wanted something quick and easy. They made the pizza on demand - it took about 30 minutes. It was delicious. The ice cream was good too! Would definitely recommend and will eat here again.

It is easily the heartbeat of the area, offering a dining experience that perfectly captures the eclectic, rugged, and friendly spirit of West Texas. Be prepared this place is popular for a reason. Wait times can easily reach the two-hour mark, but don't let that deter you. The trick is to put your name in first, then immediately pivot to "vacation mode." Grab a drink and an appetizer from the bar and head outside. The porch and the surrounding area become a lively social hub where locals and tourists mix seamlessly. The atmosphere is what truly sets Starlight apart. While we were waiting for our table, a couple of locals claimed the large bench right outside and broke into a spontaneous, spirited rendition of The Jungle Book theme songs! It was pure magic. My kids were completely enthralled by the performance, which turned a long wait into one of the highlights of our trip. It gave my husband and me the perfect window to relax with our drinks and soak in the desert air. The food lived up to the hype of the setting: Smoked Brisket Queso: This is an absolute must-order. It's rich, smoky, and the perfect fuel for a Ghost Town evening. Prickly Pear Margarita: Vibrant, delicious, and refreshing it's the quintessential West Texas cocktail. The Main Course: We ordered a variety of kid-friendly items and the Brisket Tacos. While everything we ate was delicious, be aware that their famous Texas Mesquite Smoked Brisket is in high demand they had unfortunately run out by the time we were seated, so get there early if that's your primary goal! The Starlight Theater isn't just a restaurant; it's an event. Between the incredible live local interactions, the "only-in-Terlingua" scenery, and the solid food and drink, it is a 5-star experience. Just remember: arrive early, bring your patience, and keep an ear out for the music!

In the in seasonal peak times, our waiter informed us there could be up to 200 people lining up out the door. While the food was good with great service, I think I'd be disappointed. It was great to be able to check off antelope from the bucket list of exotic fare. The food was good and represented the area well, but I wouldn't rave about it. Fir beer and soda, there is only canned and bottled as their soda fountain was broken along with the draft system- which has been for years now. Now on the other hand, the 3 margaritas we had were outstanding! There is a ramp along with stairs to enter. For the not-so-nice... there is a shared outdoor restroom with a toilet, urinal snd sink attached to the old jail cell. The urinal was so close to the toilet, that when getting up, it felt like you were shoving your head inside. And it reeked of old nasty urine. My suggestion, hold it.

Talk about small town charm with big city quality food…read more I'm in town for work and I was recommended this place by a state trooper who had to remind me of the speed limit on my way from Austin. The first morning I tried it out, I have been back everyday since. It starts with the staff. You enter and seat yourself and Bertha is with you almost immediately with a huge smile on her face and the softest sweetest voice. It's a small town and slower paced but the food arrives quickly. Now I'm not going to lie, this isn't a Michelin star restaurant and I actually prefer it that way out here. The quality and flavors are perfect, not exaggerated deconstructed nonsense. The food is made with love and the tortillas are made fresh in house. I'm pretty sure everything is made fresh and from scratch but the tortillas are for sure. The owner is usually in and has introduced himself and said hello starting the second time I've come in. If you're in the Big Bend area, specifically Presidio, stop in and say hello to Bertha and get some good food that isn't crazy expensive. I forgot to mention, they sell bagged ice if you're in need and they don't have bs single ply toilet paper in the restroom either. HUGE plus I'm my book.
