There are a number of different trails to explore that are well marked/kept (similar to all Trustees spaces). After some rain in the area, some of the areas are a bit muddy, so one may want to keep an eye on the weather/bring hiking shoes or other shoes you don't mind getting some mud on. You can also hear the hum of the freeway nearby. I also saw a wild turkey on this hike, which I trailed behind for about 10 minutes, haha! Glad to run into a fellow hiker on this trail! :)

It's located behind an industrial park so don't get discouraged if you look for it. There are no facilities so be aware. They do have a small boathouse and a set of kayaks so perhaps they will be for rent? Also, the city seems to be investing in the park as there is a large area marked as a native plant meadow and butterfly garden. So far, the non-native vegetation removal seems to be underway. But, planting of native butterfly host plants and pollinators has not started. Once this is done, it will make for a fantastic butterfly garden along the river! I'd recommend coming back in six months or a year and seeing where this stands. Perhaps they are accepting volunteers to hasten the transformation of this area? Life is good with bold plans!

While we were…read moresitting enjoying the drafts in the designated area we watched people biking, walking, running on the trails while others were paddling in canoes, standup paddle boards and other things. Didn't see much more than the beer garden that we stopped at but it looked like there was a ton of different things going on whether it was a family function or a stroll through the park. Just missing the puppy on our adventure out but other than that the park seems to be a nice spot to relax in the sun during the day...when the sunset who knows what can happen but I can say at least the beer garden is well lit giving me a sense of reassurance if I were to return during the evening.

It's a wonderful place to go just to "soak it all in" and take some really beautiful photos. I honestly wanted to leave this place 5 stars so bad but the only thing was stopping be was the hike down to the beach area. There's no pathway and you have to climb over slippery rocks and be very careful even when wearing the right shoes. If you are physically able to go down there though, it's definitely worth it.

You'll see a very casual sign nestled between two houses (one is the castle-like private estate the park is named for). To be honest, I was more enthralled with the castle-like home, but alas, it's a private residence and very exclusive, so you can only see a tiny bit of it. It's hard for a coastal park to blow me away because I have some wonderful ones where I live. But, if you're trying to catch some water views while in Marblehead, you should stop by. I noticed a couple climbing down the rocks and foraging the shoreline, but I can't speak to if that is safe or recommended. There's free street parking and it would be a cool place to take a picnic. When we visited, it was totally quiet and private feeling.

It does however have three benches, somewhat awkwardly spaced, and a little patch of grass (which has not done so well with this summer's heatwave) and a little stone wall running around as a border on the path. There is a water fountain that looks like it hasn't worked a little while, but it's a nice place, with enough shade to enjoy your lunch, and or spread out a blanket in the sun, and catch some rays.
