Absolutely HORRIBLE service. Got assigned them through American Home Shield. He showed up 1.5 hours late then informed me I needed a new subfloor to fix the leaking toilet. Also told me he went under my house. I contacted an experienced contractor the next day who arrived on time, who went under the house and said the subfloor was fine, I even saw it for myself. Wood was brand new. That same contractor came out a week later and installed new ring and all is good. Said the old ring was not installed correctly. I don't believe "Country Boy" ever went under my house as the opening I installed the brinks myself and they were exactly, w/o an inch to spare, the way I laid them. I hate to give 1 star, I prefer a -5 stars. On top of it, they have taken over a month to get the review to AHS, so AHS could get me another company out to repair. Read other reviews on BBB and Angi that don't paint a pretty picture of "Country Boy" more like NOT A GOOD OLE "Country Boy"! read more

Keith replaced a water heater for us. He was here when scheduled, completed the repair quickly and was finished as quickly as could be expected. There was some additional work to bring us up to code. This is a good plumber that did all repairs in a very professional manner. I do not hesitate to recommend him to others. The only drawback to this plumber is he is a one man show that has too much work. We care for my mother in law that is on hospice and he squeezed us in to his busy schedule.i will not hesitate to hire him again for any of our plumbing needs. Home Warranty of America contracted Country Boys Plumbing (CBP) to replace my hot water tank. They came and did the inspection, found the tank needed to be replaced and came back about a week later. I took the day off work and they showed up on time, however, they were there only 10 minutes before telling me "there is a problem". You see, my tank is in the attic and the estimator that first came never bothered to measure the opening to ensure the tank would fit! Had I known, I could have removed the ladder and molding for them before wasting a day off work. I removed the ladder and rescheduled. They returned, installed the tank and I scheduled the city inspector. FAILED. I called the city and they advised the tank failed due to excessive damage. DAMAGE!!?? My mistake for reinstalling the ladder and molding because, sure enough, I inspected the tank and looked like someone took a baseball bat to it. I got pushback from CBP but they agreed to replace it. I took the ladder and molding back off. Another vacation day and they show up...guess what? This tank also looked like it had been dropper several times. To their credit, they advised me they would not attempt the install and would find another tank. But gosh, could you be less on top of your game? They came back the forth time and installed the tank. I was pretty much out of vacation so my Mother-in-Law had to be there for me. I rescheduled the inspector. FAILED. This time the inspection failed due to the location of the gas line. I get that is kind of a ticky tack reason to fail the inspection. You call yourself a professional plumber, though, you should know the city ordinances surrounding your profession. At this point, I was livid. I argued with the owner to send someone on the weekend or after hours. I was tired of taking time off or having to pull family members in when this company made mistake after mistake. Shockingly, they refused. Even though this work would probably just take 15 minutes to do. The plumbers were nice enough. If it weren't for warranty companies finding the cheapest labor to fulfil their contract, I don't think this company would stay in business. read more

The absolute worst service we've received by anyone in regards to home repair. I used my home warranty with American Home Shield because our shower had a steady leak. Keith came out for 10 minutes and said he would be back the next day to repair it. After waiting all day the next day and not hearing from him I finally called and she said he wouldn't be out today because he was at another job and he had to "order the part" for our shower. Another 3-4 days go by and crickets. I had to call several times to get anything from them yet every time they said the same thing - we had to order a part. They never called back when they said they would. Then the excuse turned into them having trouble finding the part. Finally after almost a month of trying to escalate with AHS, Keith finally came back with the part and proceeded to tell my husband "The part was in Cedar Park this whole time but Im just never out that way. I was out there today for something and decided to pick it up." So he lied to us for weeks. When my husband said I hope our water bill isn't $500, Keith laughed and said Yep, but it probably will be. So not only did they lie to us, he legitimately didn't give a crap. And on top of everything else, he installed the valve wrong when he fixed it. Our water bill ended up doubling due to his laziness. What an absolute joke of a company. DO NOT USE THEM. I also dropped AHS for not escalating the issue after they had not come out for weeks. They kept saying "it's noted that they are waiting on the ordered part." If I could rate them less than 1 star I would. read more

Horrible service. As all of the other reviews state....came out for American Home Shield Service. Did not submit request to AHS for over 3 weeks even though I called 7 times to remind them. Apparently just take service calls to collect the $75 and never actually intend on doing the work. The guys that came were nice but the follow up is horrible. What a joke of a company. I called American Home Shield because the handle on my commode broke. They came out and said that the bolt was stripped and they needed to come back with the part. They came back a week later and said they fixed it. Two weeks later, the handle broke again. They came out and said the bolt was loose again. He said he tightened it and said he didn't want to tighten it too much because he didn't want to crack the tank. Two days later, the handle broke again. Country Boys told American Home Shield that I was "abusing" the commode. WHAT! read more

Old Republic home warranty uses country boys plumbing for repair work. Scheduling was easy and Keith came out within a few days to confirm I needed a new hot water heater. It was installed yesterday and works as planned. Only downside is that I was without hot water on one side of the house for two and a half weeks. I recognize they are busy. On the positive side, they did the install on a Saturday and don't normally work weekends, so I appreciate the effort. read more

Beware if you allow this company to perform plumbing work in your home. They were sent to me by Home Warranty of America to fix a simple toilet clog. The Country Boys plumber removed the toilet and stated that he would have to jack hammer the concrete and ceramic floor tile around the base of the toilet (for $1,050.00) because the flange in the floor did not comply with code. He said he couldn't do the work at the moment because it would take a whole day. Then left us with the exposed flange, clogged line and the toilet sitting inside the bathtub. So the next day I had a master plumber from another company come out who immediately replaced the flange at the floor (for $400.00) without any jack hammering or floor tile removal required. When I called Country Boys to describe what the master plumber had accomplished and his price, their response was "well that was a master plumber." read more

Keith saved our bacon again, after our failed effort to switch out an old shower cartridge, the day before our buyer's inspection. Two days later (and without water) we contacted Keith, who made room in his busy schedule, that same day. He is a Master tradesman, and his prices are so reasonable. Shawn, in the office, providers expert and knowledgeable customer service, and the Country Boys team is a pleasure to work with. There is just no beating Country Boys for value, knowledge and expertise, integrity, punctuality and professionalism. Country Boys came out to fix my shower at least 10 times, charging at least $75 for each useless visit. I took off of work each time to meet them at my house. 5 of those times they no-call/no-showed. Over the course of the 6 months or so they spent working on my shower, all they managed to do was turn the water off and then turn it back on again. I know they had my phone number because they would call me to schedule the next appointment, but never called any of the 5 times they didn't show up to let me know that they weren't coming out. When I would call them 2 or 3 hours after they said they would come out, they seemed very annoyed that I was asking them if they were actually coming to my house. The younger one came out once alone, looked at the shower for about 3 minutes, and then spent a good 20 minutes trying to sell me his homemade vape mods. He never even took out tools, he just looked at the shower and I told him the exact same thing I told them over the phone. This trip costed my landlord 75 dollars. I could go on for awhile about all of the time and money they wasted for both my landlord and I, but I've already expended enough time and energy dealing with them. 6 months, 10 sick days off of work, and over $1,000 later my shower is still working the exact same as it was before they touched it. They never even figured out what the problem was. read more

Most reviews of Country Boys are either 1- or 5- stars. Mine's... sorta in the middle. Home Warranty of America assigned them to my house call, they were on time, and they did fix two problems related to a leaking toilet. However, they fixed the first problem, asked me to check to make sure it was fixed, and when I found it to be still leaking, the plumber's immediate, sarcastic response came across slightly defensive. "It wasn't leaking when I checked it. What'd you do... break it?" Mildly annoying. I met the plumbers at my empty rental property. In conversation about my maintenance of the the property, the plumber said, "Man, you women take on everything these days." Um. We sure do. The worst part of the experience for me is that the plumber felt comfortable asking personal probing questions that were a thinly veiled attempt to uncover *how* I (being young and/or female, I assume) had an extra house to rent out. e.g. "Did you run off and get married?" There were other personal questions that I was also uncomfortable answering, and... my hunch is that he might not have asked any of those questions to a man. Either way, that's a problem. So, yeah, for $75 (my home warranty house service fee), they did address my problem. But I wouldn't personally look to hire them again. I booked a service call through my Home Warranty and Country Boys are who ended up coming out. The technician told me that there was nothing to be done about my water pressure concern, but that I had to pay the $75 home warranty service fee anyway. I was really upset about that since the appointment took no longer than 20 minutes. After calling my Home Warranty and getting nowhere, I ended up calling the owner, Keith, to see if anything could be done. He was very understanding and offered to refund part of the amount. So.... in October 2011 we used 3,000 gallons of water. In November, it went to 5. December was 11. Something is wrong. Well, it turns out we had a leak and never knew it (until the bill jumped). I called our home warranty company and they sent out a plumber. Country Boys Plumbing (yeah, we're definitely in Texas) found the leak and fixed it up in a couple hours. The plumber (I cannot remember his name...) worked quickly and explained what he was doing (and why). I am VERY satisfied with his work and my water bill has gone back to normal! read more

Keith of Country Boys Plumbing replaced my garbage disposal and fixed a faucet issue in my master bathroom shower. He was assigned by my home warranty company, and he did a great job. The disposal took him 5 minutes max. Maybe an exaggeration, but so fast. The shower issue took longer, because it was pretty involved. I am sooo glad I didn't just ask a favor of one of my handier friends, because it was a bigger issue than I thought. Keith was funny, polite, and got the job done. Using my Home Warranty program I had a simple toilet seal issue and a broken bolt, they were provided my service ticket and responded in a timely manner to resolve my issue. In under a day I was contacted by the company to coordinate the service call. They were able to schedule me within two days. Since the issue is a simple solution, but I had no time, I appreciated their efforts. After all, we all know "simple" tasks can get real complicated when unexpected things happen. On my job to replace the seal and mount for the toilet, it is usually a "toilet jerk" pop and replacement, but not this time. The service tech needed to install a new ring mount and match up the bolts to me existing toilet. It took him about an hours worth of drilling and work, but in the end the issue was resolved, the area was left cleaned, and the toilet was sealed and secure. I would recommend them for future work orders and support calls. read more

The 60 year old home that my husband and I just purchased started having sink draining issues in the kitchen almost immediately. I put it a request to my home warranty company on a Sunday and Country Boys Plumbing was dispatched to help us. Cody called me first thing Monday morning and explained they were bombarded with calls and they could get there first thing Thursday morning. Since it wasn't life threatening or something we couldn't live with for a few days, I told him that was fine. To be honest, I thought getting some random plumbing company sent by my warranty would be sort of like "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit." I didn't expect much at first when Chad (I think) showed up, but he got right to work with his auger (is that right?) cleaning out the kitchen sink pipe. When that didn't work (cue the gushing stinky sewer water out of my laundry room pipe onto the tile floor), he moved on to the laundry room pipe. I appreciate that he did warn me that if clearing out the laundry room pipe didn't work, he would need to get up on the roof and check the filter, which wasn't covered by my home warranty. Fortunately, the second cleaning did the trick. He was very thorough and told me what other things might help out our pipes, things I could do for free or little cost at Home Depot. He also showed me how one of our clean out drains is busted outside and answered some questions about our water line to the fridge. I would call Country Boys Plumbing again, even if the service I need isn't covered by my home warranty. I would give them 5 stars but since I only had to pay the service fee of $65, I can't speak to the fairness of their prices. read more

Apparently there is only one person that is able to fix plumbing issues that works for this place. You can see by other reviews that they repeatedly cancel on the day of people's appointments. HWA (Home Warranty America), sent these guys out to look at why our tankless hot water heater was not heating the water in the master bathroom or kitchen faucet. These kids they sent out tromped through our flower beds going in and out of the house and broke off some of my wife's plants. My wife asked them not to wear their boots in the master bathroom, which we had just mopped, which they promptly ignored. They also kept staring at my wife and made her very uncomfortable. The only thing they did was turn the temperature up on the hot water thermostat, which we had already tried but it didn't help. We paid $75 for nothing. We called HWA back, they put us in contact with a different plumber, (Mike Krischke Plumbing), and he explained to us that the tankless hot water heaters are flow controlled and had me, (over the phone), check the showerheads to see if they were low flow. They were. He told me to turn both heads on at the same time, and the water immediately got warm. Same thing in the kitchen, a low flow "fancy" faucet, you just need to turn the water on all the way for the flow to increase enough to get warm. He didn't even have to come out. I already called and complained to HWA about these guys and told them to never send them to our house again, and I thought I would give them a review on Yelp as well. Not happy with the service we received from Country Boys and they won't be coming back to my home. read more

Update, - we were told when we called "oh yeah, I was havin an issue w that and I forgot to tell you to not use it." FACT-the house was left in way worse condition then before Country Bumpkins came to "work" on the plumbing. Final solution-warranty company sent another Plumbing company that confirmed this wasn't the first job they had to come in behind and clean up after these guys had collected the warranty fee and failed to fix anything. All in all, the end result we were happy with, but not because of these folks. AMAZING!! Wait... Yes, I am amazed at how awful this business is. In total disbelief, actually. In fact, I created a yelp account in their honor to warn other people. I have never been one to write negative reviews, comment cards, or just complain about petty things in general; it's not my thing. But you guuuuuuys, this place is that TERRIBLE. Okay, they were contracted though my warranty company on Friday and didn't show up until the following Friday. That's annoying, but they are busy, I get it. We had a clogged bathroom drain and a minor washing machine drain issue(the kitchen sink would gurgle water when the washing machine was in use). Which wasn't actually an issue, more of a nuisance, really. We figured since a plumber was over anyway, we would have him take a look. Chad came in, broke a pipe out of my bathroom wall, mumbled that he was busy and would have to come back out to fix the bathroom issue on Tuesday (today). Then he moved over to the laundry room, checked out the washer and said the work needed wouldn't be covered by our warranty. No biggie, wasn't that big of an issue anyway. We could deal with the harmless gurgling drains. UNTIL... Wait for it... last night (three days after Chad's lovely visit) I did a load of laundry and the water from the washing machine seeped through my drywall and flooded my garage!!!!! My husband called him to try and come up with a solution to all of this, only to have Chad hang up on him. Today is Tuesday (a week and a half since I called my warranty company to order the repair) Country Boys Plumbing is not returning my warranty company's phone calls and they sure aren't here fixing all of the things they destroyed. Now, I am going through another plumbing company (paying out of my own pocket) to come and clean up the destruction Hurricane Chad unleashed on my home. These guys are great! I have used them twice. First time Sean came over to fix a steady drip in the bathroom tub. Second time Keith and Chad came over to fix the shower. I have a home warranty and they sent Country Boys out the first time so I requested them the second time since they were so nice before, plus knowing that they would be familiar with my bathroom would be a help. A couple days after the first visit I received a hand written note thanking me for using their service. Not enough businesses do this. It really makes you feel special and you want to use them again and refer them to others, just good and personal business I think. I highly recommend them, obviously. Thanks guys! read more

We contacted our home warranty company to repair our garbage disposal. The young repairmen that came to our home said that there was nothing wrong with the disposal. It is not working properly and they hardly even looked at it. While here, we noticed a leak under the sink. He said that he fixed it but did not. That cost us a $60 service call. We called again to repair the disposal and the leak. Again when Country Boys responded, they said that there was nothing wrong with the disposal (yes, there is) and that the leak is not under warranty. We had to pay another $60 for absolutely nothing being repaired!!! Our perception of this company is that they respond to warranty calls, collect the service call fee, and do as little as humanly possible for the money! I noticed that there are other complaints here on Yelp about them doing this to other people, too. read more

Country Boys plumbing was the "Preferred Vender" assigned by our home warranty company for a water heater repair. They weren't available to come out for several days. The technician did show up during the scheduled window. He was nice and seems to diagnose the problem quickly. Unfortunately he said he didn't carry the needed part and would have to order it. He came back again several days later but the ordered part apparently didn't fit. He promises to come back again in a few days with the correct part. Instead, a scheduler called back on the day the technician was to return. He said he would t be coming back at all and another technician would be scheduled, again several days from now. At this point we lost patience, said this was unacceptable. Wanted someone sooner or we would post a bad review. Update: After this altercation Country Boys plumbing informed our home warranty company that the problem was due to a "lack of maintenance" Not sure what maintenance should have been done on a water heater in a 6 month old new construction home. I'm sure country boys knew that this would allow my home warranty company to deny the claim and make us pay for it out of pocket. Again,is that a company your want to deal with? read more

These guys were called by my home warranty and they were awful. had a leak in my water heater and they tried to overcharge me $600 because of "code". They went back and forth for 2 weeks still while the leak got worse and never came back again. These guys are what makes trade crafts have a bad name. Country Boys get the job done. Period. I've used their services three times on a couple properties in Austin. Services rendered include unclogging a couple showers, unclogging a sink, and re-routing a sewer line. I was introduced to them through my home warranty company and liked their work so much that I brought them back on my own dime. They deliver on their promises and do the work for a reasonable rate (well, reasonable by plumber standards anyway). I got some competing bids for the sewer job and Country Boys were easily the most competitive. As another reviewer said, these guys aren't corporate glitz and glamor. This is an owner-operated small business - just the kind of contractor that I want to support in these days of faceless conglomerates. Called them yesterday 04/13/2015 and explained what my issues were and they could not shed any light on the issue stated below and just scheduled for someone to show up. Conversation with their office: 1.Water heater has no visible leaks. 2.While taking showers, scalding or cold water comes out of shower heads when toilets flushed, dishwashers on, clothes being washed etc. 3.Water gets cold after very little use, not enough to fill up a bath tub. 4. Take a long time for water to heat back up. Service guy shows up 04/14/2015: Turns on tub 3minutes Flushes toilet with tub running 1 minute Looks at water heater 1 minute and says the heater is ancient and copper lines diameters are what the real issue is because in 1985 they used smaller diameter lines. 5 minutes to fill out paperwork Total minutes 10 start to finish $60 with HWA Insurance. States if it's not leaking at all they can't replace it. Blames the anemic pipes for the heating problem. My thoughts: 1.BS I've had older house with worse plumbing and water pressure issue that never had water heater problems scalding/freezing you while showered. 2. I think them being told the water heater had no leaks they should had advised me they would not replace it and I could have applied the $60 toward replacing it, which I think ultimately needs to be done. 3. Save you money, if it's not leaking and it produces hot water at all don't call. If anyone can recommend a reputable place for replacement would be great. Gave two stars because they came on time. Home Warranty of America contracted Country Boys Plumbing to work on a plumbing issue at our house. We scheduled the appointment a week in advance, and I had to use precious vacation time to take off from work to accomodate their schedule. The day of the appointment I get a call saying they can't keep the appointment because their tech was out sick. They wanted me to take another day off to rechedule for a few days later, and would not even consider an evening or weekend appointment to make up for their missed appointment. They do not have any respect for your time, so please don't waste your time on them. read more

Stated that my piping wasn't up to code wanted to charge 200.00 for a piece of copper pipping and then refused to come back out to replace my water heater. Office lady stated that we didn't pay our deductible per Cody " you pay it when we come back out to replace your system. " thank goodness I didn't. Hardly a month later & we had another plumbing issue. This time the disposal was leaking all over the floor. Called the home warranty & was I grateful she said CBP would call to schedule. I think the gentleman's name was Keith that came out. He's one of the same ones who came out for the water heater in January. Very pleasant to deal with & did the complete install in about 30 minutes. We couldn't be happier. We would definitely call them out for a quote in the event we have a plumbing issue in the future that is not covered by the home warranty company. Great job! read more
