I went today to check it out and the ladies are friendly. What I didn't like was seeing how dirty the floor was. The tables are falling apart as well. The place needs to be cleaned from top to bottom and some paint would help. read more

Apparently sitting at a dirty table is taboo. We were told to sit anywhere. Due to the fact, it was just 2 of us we took the smaller table. The waitress was rude! However, we did have a new gal, she was very kind and I think she has worked there quite a while. She looked very familiar. The Cow decor was adorable! Our breakfast was oatmeal with toast, my boyfriend had biscuits, gravy, and eggs. The food was phenomenal. I would definitely go back again, but next time I won't sit at a dirty table. read more

Stopped here for breakfast on our way to Orlando...basically found it with our Google maps along our route. Such a cozy place. Waitresses were very friendly and the food was great. I like eating at family owned places instead of chain places. It helps out the local folks and normally the food and service is better. That being said, we were looking for someplace new out of Port Charlotte. We found the Country Cafe about 30 miles away. The first time it was fairly busy and had to wait outside for awhile. When we sat down, we ordered breakfast and I wanted milk to drink. They said they didn't serve milk. WTH. What do kids drink? They cook with it BUT no serve. Apple & Orange juice. Not good for diabetes so I stuck with coffee. The food was pretty good, but no one came tofill coffee and that's a really expensive cup of coffee. Next time we went, I ordered off the menu and asked to substitute home fries for the hash browns. WRONG. We don't substitute. I could have ordered a side order of home fries, but no substitutes. You'd think a small family business would have wanted to please patrons, but I guess I'm wrong. Guess I'll begin my search for another small family restuarant. Sorry, but I didn't ask for a lot but the waitress didn't seem to care. read more

Great breakfast place!!!! My husband and I stopped here for breakfast during our road trip up north and we highly recommend. Staff was very friendly and fast/hardworking. Menu is simple and food was delicious. Lots of people coming in and out so you could tell it is a local favorite. Definitely recommend if you want a fast, good breakfast! read more

First let me say the food was pretty good. Although they ran out of breakfast items, and I wanted breakfast. When we arrived we had to wait outside and was told to wait outside by the hostess, and it was not in a kindly manner. We waited for them to clean a table which took a while. Then we were seated ordered the food. Here's where it went all wrong. Three of us got our food. The 4th person, my husband, waited and waited. In fact the rest of us were done and we were still waiting. His meal finally came, and it was wrong. He ate most of it because he was hungry. No apology, no explanation, nothing. We went up to the counter to pay and never received a bill. Just told what our bill was. And I think they overcharged. In general very surly, and rude to the customers. Would not recommend at all. There is no outside signage to let you know that it is the Country Cafe, but step inside and you'll see that the locals know where to find a delicious breakfast or lunch. The food is simple, down home goodness. read more

Food is decent... not the best. Came inside to do a to-go order since they wouldn't answer their phone for nearly an hour. Got refused service and was told we had to sit down if we wanted to eat. Our waitress was very nice, but that's about the only good thing about our experience here. The first interaction we had was a server literally throwing the menus at us and walking away. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive and it was cold by the time we got it. Tables that arrived after us had already eaten, paid, and left before we got our food. The biscuits were dry, corned beef hash tasted like what I could only imagine cat food tastes like. We will not be returning. I have had better food and service at waffle house. read more

We stopped here for lunch on our way between Orlando and fort myers. It has a nice local feel. The waitresses know all of the regulars and people talk to strangers. My two year old had a great time. Everyone wanted to interact with her. The food was simple, but delicious. It was a much better choice than any of the other places-McDonalds or Taco Bell. read more

Wow. This was a great surprise. We travel a lot and sometimes little cafes arent prize winning. However, this one was!! Bagel was toasted perfectly, egges setved hot, hash browns crispy. Great wait staff. We would eat here again for sure. read more

They're ok it you settle for regular bland flavor , no wow factor here if your looking for amazing food. They need to revamp their menu or hire a chef to do it . I'd give them another shot if they did that. Even a country cafe can be an amazing place to eat if you beef up that menu with flavor and diversity! read more

Was excited to find a local diner. Was told to seat ourselves by one of the locals. Waited 10 minutes and walked out. Two tables of locals came in after us, seated and orders taken. We were never acknowledged. Not a way to treat new customers. Updated: went to Kikis Egghouse in Ft Meade. Wonderful food and service. read more

Ive never had any issues with my food at this place until now. I was given pancakes that where not done and after requesting the them to be cooked longer they were thrown back on the grill for 5 seconds and back onto my plate! I dont know what made the cook think that its ok to serve people half cooked food but he just caused this place to loose a customer! I will NEVER eat here again! DISAPPOINTED & DISGUSTED! read more

Coming through Arcadia on my way home after an exhausting canoeing weekend, I stumbled upon this little hole in the wall style of restaurant. I soon come to find out after opening the door that this was an amazing little home style place. Seated quickly, and with the BEST service, I was served my drink quickly as I was able to look at all the artifacts and antiques bordering the walls. I ordered a couple of pancakes, bacon and hash. That also came with complementary toast and sausage. Only cost me $5. Needlessly said, the food was delicious, and came out a short 6-7 minutes after being ordered. Passing thru Arcadia found this great place for breakfast. Loved the country decor & judging by the cowboys eating there means one thing, good food! I had the country breakfast which was a bargain at just over $5 for eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuits & gravy & coffee. I felt like I was back home in Texas with this delicious meal! 3 1/2 stars...No frills Home cooking...something for everyone. We swung by after the recommended restaurants were closed on Mondays and had 2 starving fussy kids and 4 semi hungry adults. We all found a guilty pleasure on the menu for lunch. Serves breakfast all day. Everyone enjoyed their meal except for picky 5 year old who drank his large chocolate milk. Chicken fried steak, sausage and biscuits, Catfish and okra hit the spot. Definitely a locals spot...semi welcoming to us hungry lost tourists. read more
