It was a Sunday and this place was hopping! We were greeted and sat immediately. When you walk in, you see a little gift shop and a bakery display. The decor is wooden, cute, whimsical, and slightly boho. Our server was super sweet and soft spoken - she took our order and our food was ready fairly quickly. The food is delicious!! We started with their soup of the day - a spiced carrot ginger. Yummy - it felt like a warm hug! We got a veggie burger and the turkey pesto. Both were super tasty and made with love. The BEST part... they make their own breads and they offer a GLUTEN FREE rice loaf!!! It is so yummy that we bought a frozen loaf to take home. Thankfully we had a cooler with us and were able to do so. We loved our lunch so much that we decided to stop again on our way home four days later! The middle of the week in Arcadia is a lot more quiet, and our second visit was just as delicious as the first. This time, we had the veggie soup and the same two sandwiches (because they were that good!). We had the veggie burger on GF bread this time so we could share half of each sandwich. They have an interesting story of origin (see their story on the menu paper), and the folks are super sweet and warm people. We are already sad we live two hours away, but look forward to returning for more delicious food!

Hurricane Irma dealt them a heavy blow and their legions of loyal customers were seriously worried, but they bounced back and are as awesome as ever! Arriving- Easy peasy to find with no tricks or challenges. The parking is adequate, and I've never had a problem. Ambience- It's a deli folks! Huge blackboards show you the extensive menu. I gave you a pic of just one of several panels. Tables, a covered patio, and a counter that seats about 40 folks all together. Note that the counter has a couple of power outlets for a quick phone charge. Nice! Pro Tip- They have their own Wi-Fi, but I didn't bother asking for the password as I connected to the nearby Xfinity Hot Spot. Customer Service- You order and pay at the counter. The drinks are serve-yourself. If you are eating in, someone will drop off your food at your table but there really isn't table service. All the folks that have touched me over several visits have been just fine. Food- I'm addicted to the Rachel! It's like a pastrami Reuben but with Cole slaw instead of sauerkraut. I guess sauerkraut was a little too strong for Rachel! I added fries and a small fountain drink, and the pre-tip tab was about $16. I've had this exact lunch several times and it always blows me away. Savory pastrami and crisp, fresh Cole slaw on toasted rye makes an excellent sandwich. The piping hot fries were well cooked. I was stuffed and smiling as usual. An easy 4-stars!

From the…read moremoment I walked in, I was treated like I didn't belong the woman who took my order was rude and dismissive, and the way she spoke to me compared to other customers was completely different. My family has been in South Florida for generations, so to be treated like I'm some outsider was insulting. As for the food? Absolutely terrible. The chicken was dry, salty, and clearly frozen definitely not fresh. For the prices they charge, you'd expect way better quality. Meanwhile, the family seated next to us was treated like royalty: their food was brought out to them, they were asked if they needed anything else, while we were shouted at across the deli like farm animals. And to top it all off there was mold in the ice machine. That alone is enough reason to never go back. This place was a total disappointment, and I'll never eat here again.

And I'm not saying that's bad, but if you don't have great teeth, forget it. Again, the bread is delicious and the cheese and meats are top-notch. I had the Italian sub but needed to heat it up in the microwave to soften the bread a bit. The wait times are absolutely ridiculous. Today they told us they were to shorthanded 4 people behind the deli counter and the wait was 45+ minutes. Some of the items are very very overpriced. The sub was not. It was about 10 bucks for the Italian sub. We bought the mozzarella with the tomato for $9.99 a pound. It was absolutely flavorless! I understand the mozzarella is fresh made, but the tomato was rockhard and ridiculous. SO disappointing. We paid way too much for that. Try it but good luck on wait times. Parking in back is better than waiting for a spot in the front of the store off 41.

The Vibe: From the outside, the shop is pretty unassuming, tucked into a strip mall--but that's often where the best deli spots are hiding. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a busy lunch rush and a fast-paced New York deli vibe, with staff cranking out sandwiches left and right. Always a good sign. What We Ordered: * Hot Rachel * Classic Italian * 1/2 lb pesto macaroni salad * 1/2 lb redskin potato salad We took everything home for lunch and... Every single thing was delicious. Sandwich Highlights: The Hot Rachel was exactly what you want from a deli sandwich--tender pastrami, melty Swiss, tangy slaw, and toasted rye all working together perfectly. Stacked high and full of flavor. My husband's Classic Italian was also fantastic, loaded with meats and that classic deli balance of flavors. Both deli salads were great, but the pesto macaroni salad was the standout--creamy, herby, and packed with flavor. We're honestly so excited to have discovered a great New York-style deli less than 10 minutes from our house. Safe to say we'll definitely be back soon to work our way through the rest of the menu. Pro tip: Don't skip the deli salads--grab one or two to share with your sandwich.
