Second time eating here. Lunch this time. I had the steak burger with onion and mushroom gravy. It came with homemade mashed potatoes, corn and a biscuit. Delicious. The beef was cooked the way I like it. The gravy was delicious. My husband got the gyro platter. It had gyro meat, Syrian bread, Greek salad and feta cheese. He said it was amazing. The owner came out an gave us white chocolate chip cookies for dessert. The service was great. The food came out quickly. Again this place is very eclectic and beautifully decorated. Food was decent but wasn't anyplace my party would go back to. I would like to suggest better options in town including Martin's for the Cuban sandwich. They charge for a take out box which I have never seen. They gave frozen cocktail sauce with the shrimp, another first for me. Greek pasta salad & fries were good side options that we enjoyed. Everything was served on beautiful plates. Bison burger was delicious but staff seemed upset that we didn't know how to order it. We didn't say medium. Supposedly "no one ever asked before " to have well done. Staff was pleasant at times ...overwhelmed at the next. Seemed to be one person serving until kitchen staff came out and helped with food service. We ended up going up to counter to pay because the owner/server/ was dealing with deliveries and chit chatting swearing about keg order. All in all, seemed like it was geared toward much older locals who weren't on any lunch break time constraints. In the area for some antique shopping with my friends and stopped in for a quick something to drink and eat. We parked in the connecting lot so I didn't feel like walking far to get something since hubs was in need for a sprite. Upon entering I walked up to the bar area where from what appeared to be the owner or manager asked the young girl working to help me. The young girl was in the middle of getting a receipt ready for a table she was waiting and when I made eye contact with her I let her know she could take her time since I didn't know what I wanted. The place looked run down but it did have a few tables with customers dining in for breakfast. The drink menu was limited and they didn't have sprite. I got him a ginger ale and myself an iced caramel macchiato. I saw they had croissants so I asked if I could get a chocolate one warmed. The young lady was so nice. She got an older gentleman to come out and make my drink. I was waiting on my croissant to warm and a man came in and stood behind me, the owner waited on him and since I was standing there waiting to pay we both thought she was ringing me up but then she looked at him and told him his total. He looked at me and said "I thought she was waiting on you" to which I replied I guess not and we both laughed and I told him to go ahead. He was hesitant but I insisted since I was still waiting on the croissant. He did and thanked me. As she's now ringing me up, a customer that had been sitting at a table since before I walked in approached the counter. Without even looking at her the owner blurts out that someone will be with her soon and to have a seat. The lady said she was just wondering when they could get service since they had been sitting there for a while. The owner then yells to the back "can someone get out here and wait on this table, these folks are impatient and need to be waited on now!" I was in awe at that. If that were me, I would've walked out and gone someplace else. That was rude. No matter how busy you are, it's not cool to be that way towards customers. Reading through some of the other reviews I can see that this seems to be a norm. Everyone was cordial to me but I firsthand saw the treatment that others have referenced. My croissant was done warming and I was on my way. The caramel latte (I ordered a macchiato) was pretty good. The croissant didn't seem fresh. It was maybe day old. Stiff bread and the chocolate wasn't even melty despite it being a bit warm. Hubs ended up eating it. read more

She further complained about my review to my supervisor, who frequents her restaurant for coffee, and disparaged me. The staff was friendly. We came at what seemed to be a busy time. It wasn't that the service was slow or we didn't get our food in a timely manner but rather that the food was cold. Fries were cold, you could tell the burgers were bubba burgers, the grilled cheese was very small. In my 15 (+-) years on Yelp, I have never written a pity review until today. Everything about our lunch today was wrong, both orders. Giving them 5 stars because I feel sorry for them and I doubt they will be in business much longer. The restaurant business is tough and I'm sure they are giving it their best shot but everything from start to finish was a mess. Both of our orders had mistakes (he ordered the basic/cheapest burger on the menu and ended up with a bacon burger $3 more expensive and I ordered mixed green salad with a $4 add-of grilled chicken and the chicken was left off. ) After looking at what was brought out as my salad I immediately jumped up and found my server to let him know 1) no chicken on salad 2) never mind about the chicken and 3) please remove it from my bill. Pathetically wilted greens on my salad because "it's grown hydroponically" , chicken with perfect grill marks not previously frozen because "we don't have a freezer" was brought out anyway and was tasteless, spongy, pale and looked like the frozen stuff I would get from Walmart that I would still dress up a bit. His burger was gray and smelled old but, yes, my guy still ate it...lol. (No he did not get sick later on.) Poor server was very new and very sweet. THE OWNER HUNG UP ON ME when I was trying to find out about their food. Here's what happened: I went on Google to find an organic restaurant in Arcadia. But strangely, when I checked the menu, for some reason what Google showed was the usual fried and typical American restaurant fare, and it said nothing about organic or grass fed or anything so I was confused and called. Upon asking, the owner became super defensive, said some nonsense like she doesn't care what Google shows and she's being trashed by some other restaurant, AND HUNG UP. I couldn't get a word in edgewise and there was no reasoning with her. I called back later and got the owner and asked why she would hang up on a potential customer just trying to find out about the food because of the discrepancy between the online menu and she said "I don't have time to explain to you," and then went through a litany of grass fed this and organic that and fresh organic salad greens, but wouldn't allow me to speak. She said that when I had called the first time I called her food trash. It's so fascinating that people hear how she interpret an inquiry about fried food and my being confused as "calling her food trash." Never said any such thing. I persisted to ask if she would help me because folks, I truly am looking for a restaurant that has organic choices. She insisted that this is not the restaurant for me and I gave up. I don't write this review as a tit for tat. As a potential customer of a restaurant it is clear to me that this woman is under tremendous pressure and stress. I have great compassion for her. We live in a time of mega stress. Dear lady, I hope and pray that you get relief from the pressure and that you look into what Google shows as your food. It is misrepresenting your restaurant. I consider this another internet thing - when can we believe anything we read? That is precisely why I called. I hope, in the future, you will treat inquiries in a far calmer and nicer manner. I won't be eating at your restaurant, however. Dear Lady, your stress goes into your food and removes the benefits of the organic and grass fed etc. It affects the ambiance and experience of diners. I gave 2 stars for the food and the Atmosphere since I have no idea about the food, not having eaten at your establishment, and as a result of how I was treated when merely asking for clarification due to internet confusion. read more

This is one of the few restaurants/cafeterias that was open in Arcadia on a Sunday while I was visiting. myshelly's is open daily from 6.30 in the morning to 5.30 in the afternoon, and serves breakfast until 11.30 am and the switches to their lunch menu. Breakfast consists mostly of eggs, waffles, bagels and omelettes and lunch is mostly made up of sandwiches and salads. The cafeteria itself is rather plain and sits around 50 people. It was a little busy today and so the service was on the slower side, but I was impressed that they let me order an omelette from the breakfast menu for lunch. This will be my second review on this place only to advise others that the owner Michelle Miller is now personally threatening me online and in my reviews. and on many other review sites. First I need to say this, my reviews are 100% accurate, always have been, always will. Unlike the owner of this restaurant Michelle Miller who has followed me for over a month now, online, threatening me with law suits because I gave her a bad review and using profanity by calling me names that I will not jeopardize my ability to post here by repeating her foul mouth. Also she lies about the time we waited for our meal , that she has contacted other places I have reviewed, and contacted her attorney in order to sue me all which are lies and false. There are many other restaurants in Arcadia that I am sure will appreciate your business and treat you with the respect you deserve. I went here around 3 months ago on a family excursion. The service was excellent. The food , however, was not. The chicken salad was bland. The potato salad was unique to say the least( as in not too good). The menu did not offer any challenging items so I'm not sure why the food wasn't good. I've never spent so much money on breakfast in my life. $6 for ONE egg! Their menu doesn't disclose half of what they actually put on their food, which is frustrating. Ordered a bagel sandwich with an over-easy egg. Bagel untoasted and almost impossible to bite through. My egg was basically hard boiled. Two people at my table ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken had bones which was inconvenient especially since it cost $13. Theirs also came with blueberry butter and almonds which was not disclosed on the menu and was downright unpleasant. Our waitress seemed annoyed that we even showed up. Corned beef hash tasted like literal cat food. We will not be returning since we wasted almost $75 for some of the worst breakfast we've ever had. Next time we'll travel to port Charlotte for waffle house. read more

Fantastic little place! I opted for the Rachel, which is pastrami, swiss and coleslaw on marbled rye. I asked for the coleslaw on the side, as I am VERY picky when it comes to coleslaw. When my sandwich came, each half pierced with a garlic stuffed olive on a toothpick (yum!) I ended up putting all of the coleslaw on my sandwich (and wanting more)! My husband had the Rueben, which he was also very happy with. We don't get out to Arcadia too often, but this will be our new go-to place! read more

I recently wrote a review of this new restaurant. The owner was not pleased and wondered if I had actually been there. I did eat there and tried to write an honest review. I did speak to a man who appeared to be a cook/manager. Our experience was not great but I do however wish you all the best in your new endeavor - I would suggest that you try to answer your critics in a more positive fashion. RUDE. I walk in at 12:10 pm on a Saturday to JUST GET COFFEE. I walkTowards back to order and stop at menu table to see beverage options. I hear the girl at counter loudly tell server " we are not taking any more tables". To which the server repeats... no "hello", "how can I help you". Just rudeness. We were visiting for the day from South Florida and stopped in for lunch. Although the service was fantastic and the staff was friendly and courteous, the food was pretty bad. I'm assuming they just opened recently, so I guess they're still on the learning curve. The chicken salad was mushy and too sweet; the pastrami, although very lean, was tasteless. The Caesar salad was positively inedible. The potato salad had too much mustard (though this is probably a regional taste).
