    Bread and garlic sauce
    Marianne G.

This was a great place to check out! We chose to dine in, but it was insanely busy the entire time with takeout orders! I've never seen so much foot traffic in and out of a restaurant while I was eating, so clearly this place is busy. The food was great! We decided to order the Country Plate and share it, to get a variety of food. It came with Shish tawook, shish kabob, meat kafta, 2 grape leaves, 2 falafel, 2 fried kibbee, meat and chicken shawarma, rice, hommous and salad. Plus, they give you the delicious hot bread with garlic sauce! It was so much food, for such a good price. We really enjoyed most of the food! The service was good, too. They were friendly and helpful.

Small side salad was part of lunch special.

We dropped in for a quick lunch during a busy workday. The parking lot was full; we snagged the last spot. Inside, large groups occupied booths that lined both sides of the dining area. Since it was lunch, we went with the specials. I had the grilled beef shish kebab which came with rice and salad. I only had a bite of the rice (carbs); it was unbelievably flavorful, fluffy, not mushy. But I avoided the pita bread, which took willpower because they were warm and fluffy and almost exactly how I like them. The salad was fresh and lightly coated in vinaigrette. The baba ghanoush side had a robust, grilled flavor and creamy, fantastic texture. It is no wonder that this is my favorite Middle Eastern side. Service was quick and friendly. By the time we were done, the restaurant had almost completely emptied out.

A co-worker recommended Country Chicken so a group of us went for lunch. First thing to know is that the name is, um, confusing. As you can see from the menu pix I posted, 'Country' serves traditional 'Middle Eastern' food. Apparently, the location was originally called 'Country Chicken' and the current owner decided to retain part of the name. In any case . . . When we walked in, two things hit me: 1) The air is full of smell of wonderful food. 2) This is an 'old school' restaurant -- which I like. They were relatively busy but we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and quickly brought the bread that reviewers rave about along with the extra garlic sauce we requested. Both seemed 'homemade' -- bread soft and warm, garlic sauce tasty without being too strong. We placed orders mainly from the lunch specials menu. Starters -- salads, soups, etc. -- arrived quickly and entrees presently. Again, everything seemed fresh and homemade. IMO, both soup and salad dressing were a bit too salty. I ordered boneless chicken. Serving was two skinless breasts. They were well seasoned and and relatively moist if a bit charred at the thin ends. Overall, the group was well satisfied with Country's food and service. Parking is interesting. We arrived early enough to get a space in what Google maps identifies as '13648-13698 Colson St Parking' which is just South of the restaurant. By the time we left, the lot was full and people had parked in non-spots.

THE FRESH BREADDDDDD OHH MY! The food here is really cooked well and they are very generous. Grilled and seasoned so nicely. Everything also tastes fresh. Did I mention the BREAD ALREADY?! Beautiful fresh baked bread aa opposed to the typical pita bread. ALSO, the prices are very reasonable (actually cheaper compared to other similar restaurants in the area). The place tho is kind of dark inside but I do not mind it. Our waitress was kind in serving us as well. We got the combo platter for 2 which came with hummus, fattoush, rice and several meat options. Definitely coming back and back. OH AND THE BREADDD.

Whenever I want good Arabic food I come to country chicken. The food is always fresh and delicious. The family platters have something for everyone.

Came on a weekday night. Food was great, and served fast. It all had a good flavor to it. Will definitely be back! Waitresses were also friendly

Garlic sauce. Separated, lumpy, and does NOT taste like garlic? I threw it away immediately.

There's a parking garage in the rear and plenty of spots. I did enter through the rear of the establishment since I parked there. The menu is pretty extensive. Ended up getting the half order of hummus. A basket of warm pita and two sauces came out. I initially thought that was the pita. This was complimentary I believe. The garlic sauce is solid. The other one is a spicy sauce of some sort. This spicy one was super good. The hummus came out. Very smooth and flavorful. For my entree, I got the Shish Kafta. You can choose between lamb or chicken. I went with the chicken with a side of rice and my choice of soup or salad. I opted for the lentil soup. That came out piping hot. This was delicious. Flavorful and good texture. My entree came out and wow. The portion is way more than what you pay for. Came with 4 very huge blocks of chicken kefta. Nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Had a nice char on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. I used the two sauces from earlier to give it an extra kick. I washed it all down with a mint lemonade. This was absolutely refreshing. Clean place, very good food and the customer service was solid.

One guy seated at a booth on the phone and two ladies with their suitcase at another booth. Other than the 3 people, place was empty. Ordered carry out. crushed lentil bowl, chicken kafta, two sides: small hummus, small baba ghanouj, large fattoush salad with no pita. $38.13 Food takes about 15 minutes to be ready. Drove all the way back to the office. My chicken kafta looks to be lamb, not at all what I ordered. My large fattoush is covered in pita chips. Had to spend several minutes getting every pita chip out of the salad. It's good I am not allergic to gluten. They shove the dressing packet in the corner of the salad, so you get a bit less, that and the pita chips. Other than that, the salad was fine. I am quite disappointed the order is not right! The crushed lentil soup has a lot of rice in it, which is just filler to me. Has some clumps of something, may be rice and starch? It's too inconvenient to drive all the way back. Do be sure to check your carry out order before you leave the place. The crushed lentil is quite bland, not much flavor to it. Tastes some fennel, quite a few clumps of starch. The soup is more rice than lentil. I could count on one hand how many traces of lentil was in my bowl of soup. What in the world? My husband ate the lamb kafta, since I don't eat red meat. He said it was so-so, but rather dry.

They started us off with complimentary plain bread, which felt a bit basic without even a touch of garlic or flavoring. The margaritas ($12) were quite diluted, and the $7 mocktails were underwhelming. For food, we ordered the Chicken Kabob Dinner, Shawarma Platter, and Spicy Man-Usha. Both the Chicken Kabob Dinner and Shawarma Platter came with two sides : we chose fattoush salad, Greek salad, and grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables were done really well, and the shawarma platter was enjoyable. However, the chicken kabob was disappointingly dry, and the Spicy Man-Usha, despite sounding exciting, turned out quite bland. Overall, it was an okay experience, pleasant enough for a casual visit, but not something that would make us go out of our way to return.
