Wow, I am actually surprised and impressed, this chicken kabob wrap is amazing delicious. Idk what this sauce is but it's not the traditional garlic paste...it's really good!! And to think I started to leave the parking lot and go somewhere else. I will definitely be back!! I would've gotten a pic but I ate too fast, maybe

Only the very best Ma n Pa Middle Eastern Food Downriver, has hundreds of regular customers. We've been a dozen plus times to eat inside the quaint dining room. They do a mega amount of take out business from open till close. Dad a Master Chef with decades of experience, Mom runs front of house and adding her special recipes. Ordered our favorite platter for 2 truly feed's 4 easy, lots of leftovers. The platter be Kafta, Chicken Tawook, Lamb Kabob, Chicken Breast on a bed of Rice with veggies. Also Hummus, Toum, Tahini, Fatoush Salad and Bread. She added a bowl of Lentils Soup for the Win. Such a sweet couple treating all customers like family. Great busy location on Ecorse road in Taylor, you really must try. See the great reviews around the web Yelp, Google and Facebook. #taylorkabob @taylorkabob1 #platterfortwo #middleeasternfood #kebob #lentilssoup #kafta #taylormi #downriverfriendseat

LOVE this hidden gem, a must-go when I'm home for the holidays. Never had a bad meal and the owners are very kind.

Too much competition for them to operate this way. Chicken Shawarma was dry yet loaded with oil that seeped all the way through to the rice.

Loved the chicken shawarma! I've had it from other places, but you can't beat the texture and ratios of this one in my opinion.

Our server, bus boy, and supporting staff was so welcoming. The area was full of customers and the clanging of cooking utensils and the small chatter made the atmosphere very cozy. And then the food came, ahh the food. Hot and steaming, smelling of the herbs and spices, bountiful and nutritious. The selection we made was a platter made for two. So beautiful, bountiful, nutritious, and delicious. We chose grilled vegetables instead of the rice or noodles( less carbs). Lamb, chicken, beef and vegetables. Yummy. We also had a mango strawberry smoothie as well. There was so much food that we had left overs! Please stop and enjoy this place. It will delight you and your senses. Stay Yelping my friends!

The minty lemonade was tasty. The falafel sandwich was simply gross: tasted like it was made from a cheap mix -- both the texture and color (see pic) were off. Definitely would not recommend. The fries were surprisingly good. We also enjoyed the red spicy garlic sauce. The service was not great. Our weirdly cheerful server, Oksana, was serving multiple tables, and was quite busy -- we had to flag her down to get our bill after she visited our neighboring table THREE times without checking in on us. All this while three young bearded stood behind the counter watching the dining room but doing little but scroll on their phones and talk to each other. Another three bearded young men, apparently cooks, sat in a back corner table on their phones... one of them wore black (latex?) gloves and continued to wipe his nose, lips, and forehead! Not good.

The menu photos on Yelp are NOT CORRECT PRICES. I went here expecting to pay around $18 and the…read morebill ended up being $28. I got the chicken kebab entree with rice, lentil soup and a small tabouli. The rice was good, the chicken was a way over charred. Literal crunchy black layer. There was not a good amount of vegetables. The tabouli was VERY TASTY, I loved that. And the Lentil soup was very runny almost like chicken noodle soup. But the lentils was very aroma and still tasted very yummy, just not as filling as a thicker lentil. I was given like 4 pita breads and a garlic also with the meal. The restaurant looked clean inside. I won't be back to this restaurant only because I've had way better for around the same price or less, but if this was my first time trying Mediterranean food I may be back only because in that case I wouldn't be knowledgeable enough about what flavors to look for in these dishes. Thank you for the meal though! I will be eating it all. PS. Walking to the door of the restaurant is a giant lip in the sidewalk and my partners toe was injured because it stubbed.

Well it took me almost 30 minutes to get there, and my husband, still afraid to just order what I said lol, ate his bread and garlic until I arrived. The gentleman who was working that day was extremely patient with my husband sitting there so long waiting for me, and was very polite to me when I was seated. I ordered my husband the Shish Tawook dinner with rice and Salad. I ordered a bowl of Chicken lemon Rice soup. His chicken piece's were huge, delicious and well seasoned. The rice, also well seasoned, light and fluffy. The salad itself was plentiful, and was not overdressed. the lettuce was very fresh, and there were also plenty of cucumbers and tomato's. the bread was hot, fluffy and excellent with the garlic! When my husband asked for the bill, I told him to add a quart of the chicken lemon rice to go. He gave me the soup and said thats for you, no charge. He also gave us 2 rice puddings. not sure if that came with his meal or not but it was delicious and appreciated. I definitely made sure to leave a nice tip, which he was getting with or without the free soup. Seating is plentiful, once ordered food came fast with every single item tasting fresh, well seasoned and delicious. There is a cooler with drinks so if you order to go you can grab a drink.

I'm surprised to see this place where it is. Will an Arabic restaurant work downriver? I hope so…read more First, the Malek's Kafta appetizer $14.83: It is meatballs sautéed with mushroom, onions and fresh tomato. This was the star of the show for me. It was absolutely delicious. The sauté with tomato, onion and mushroom is the same you'd get with lamb tongues (a personal favorite...if you know, you know) or other sauté type dishes at Lebanese style Arabic restaurants. It really pops flavor-wise with a nice balance of savory herbs and a bite of acidic zest from lemon juice. This is what I will come back for. The fattoush was also delicious. I really liked the light dressing. There was no fried bread in it, just some dry bits and not much of it. I really thought it was more like a standard Lebanese style salad. Fortunately, I loved it. I like salad a lot. The lamb shish kabob was tenderized! Finally, someone understands this critical detail! They were well sized, perfectly cooked medium and the flavor was nice. I'm giving them a perfect score because I really enjoyed everything I ordered and I think they're succeeding at what they intend to be. I like the dining room; it is clean, modern and casual. The service was great and friendly. Yes, I am coming back.

Professional service and great food consistently. The food in this location was good. Our waitress this afternoon was the problem. Before finishing my friend and I asked the waitress for separate checks. She appeared indignant and said she asked us at the start about how we would handle the payment. That conversation never happened and we told her such. She started to argue with us. My friend couldn't believe her reaction! For one thing it wasn't busy and we felt challenged by her. What should have been a good experience soured our afternoon. She finally agreed and felt the need to comment on the size of bill my friend was paying with. We paid at the table . Our orders were identical which should have made this easy. Unfortunately we won't be back at this location even though my friend lives close!
