It was a touch weird to see the performers with head set microphones and also holding microphones but also having a bit aggressive on the sound. It is a small space and seemed to be set to levels that would sound a venue twice this size. Seat comfort can always be better. I was shocked there was zero bathroom line as they have one. As someone with a peanut sized bladder, I will never complain about an available restroom that is clean and has soap and all the papers. And now, a small rant. I am not 'sober' but I don't tend to drink while out and about and I have quite a few sober friends due to recovery or even a few are actually allergic to alcohol (I am allergic to hops and agave, aka tequila). Several of the friends I go to things with are one of these so I don't drink. I am also many times the one driving. Can I just get a Coke or Pepsi... seriously, the options to not drink beer or wine is kombucha, coffee or hot cocoa??? We seriously thought she was kidding. Thanks for having a tap with water? But kombucha? Here, since you don't want booze, how about vinegar....

What a great festival - delicious food and pastries, traditional dancing, children's activities,…read moreand warm and welcoming people! I'm so glad I saw an ad on Facebook and decided to take the ride out to St. George Orthodox Church where this festival is held. I met the most wonderful people, had tons of fun, and will come back every year for this annual event. Just a short drive from Portland, there is ample parking in their lot and on the street. The driveway is lined with different tents containing food from local restaurants, like Nicholas, henna painting, some jewelry, cookies and pastries, and an entire area dedicated to games for the children. Inside the church was a stage where the traditional dancing took place at a few scheduled times. There were cookies and pastries available in packages or you could buy individual pieces. I bought baklava, which was delicious - sweet, but not too sweet - and worth the trip out there! Also bought date cookies that were so good with tea. I had planned on buying a spinach pie and meat pie to bring home to eat, but when the gentleman plated the meat pie, fresh from the oven, I decided to eat it there. When I came upon an outdoor area with tables, a group welcomed me, then insisted I join them. Within minutes I was part of the conversation and laughter. Next thing I knew, 3 hours passed! It was like being with family. Amazing. We exchanged numbers and have already gotten together for a movie, HH, and this weekend we are meeting at the Arab Festival at Oak Park and a Labor Day BBQ. Seriously. Crazy. Never would have guessed that my detour to the 42nd Annual Middle Eastern Festival would have resulted in two new beautiful friendships. I swear, I feel like they adopted me!

For this 3 day event in early June, The Old Historic Highway in the center of Troutdale is closed…read moreto cars and the street is lined with vendors creating an open air art festival. Galleries that pepper the street open their doors and spill out in to the street, and there is live music at the Mayor's Corner. It's a combination of local art, culture, and community for all to enjoy! It was a beautiful blue sky day and I enjoyed a leisurely stroll up one side of the street, then down the other, making sure to check out all the booths. Unfortunately, I left my camera in the car, so there no pics, just words for this review. Lots of handmade jewelry - at least 8 booths - showcasing sterling silver and other metals, turquoise, gem stones, and wire work. I'm a sucker for long dangly earrings and anything with a blue stone, especially Larimer, so of course I had to buy a pair that hit all the marks. Several photographers, water color, acrylic, and oil artists with pieces reflecting the magnificent Columbia Gorge region were displaying their work. One photographer, Patrick Campbell, had greeting cards and puzzles, in addition to his photography on metal. As soon as I saw the puzzle with a Rowena Crest sunset during wild flower bloom, I bought it before anyone else saw it! That's how art works, it speaks to you and immediately makes a connection. Other artists and crafters included felted images that were incredibly detailed, unique and beautiful. Crocheted clothing, handbags, hats and scarves. Beautiful hand carved wooden bowls, boards and platters that showed off the grain in the wood. Lovely earthenware and ceramic mugs and vessels. Goat milk soaps and lotions. And more! There are several restaurants on both sides of the street plus home decor stores, antique shops and other stores. It's a fun way to spend a few hours. Parking was easy - park either behind the stores in the large parking lot or take the free Sasquatch Shuttle. The shuttle runs a continuous loop with several pick up stops, the Columbia Gorge Outlet one block away is the easiest.

I almost didn't stay for the second half because of some early morning obligations I had the next day, but so glad I did- because it was amazing! The likeness of the performers to the actors in the movie wasn't exact but accurate. The dialogue was fun, had spurts of relate-able content to the modern-day audience, but didn't veer off of character too far. And the DeLorean + lights show! Seriously and unexpectedly loved it. And the Keller staff did such an amazing job of herding us all around before & after, while getting drinks, and during the intermission. It was a bit miraculous. What show is next? ;-)

I flew in to see Phantom with my daughter. It was my first time here and was assigned parking about…read morea 20 mins walk. I didn't know there were parking right across the street! It was a little intimidating walking in the dark by ourselves. But at least I now know there are parking closer to the Keller Auditorium for the next time. We got to the door about 10 minutes before curtain call. I was surprised that the line moved quick and with ease. Once we got in, we decided to stop by the souvenir shop after the show and opted to use the restroom on the left side. There was a line of 9 people ahead of us. We stood in line only to find out that it was ONE stall. That explained the long wait. Wish the ushers or staff let people know that there was a ladies lounge on the other side with more stalls. All I heard was that there's restrooms upstairs but it's the same. My impression was that this venue was not equipped for a big crowd. It wasn't a humongous venue and it looked like all or most seats has a good view. We sat on the left side, 7 rows back on the aisle. I think those seats was perfect because we were close to the stage but still far enough back so we can absorb everything. My chair was comfortable and was roomy. I think the lady behind me wasn't too comfortable. She was kinda tall and kept bumping her knees on the back of my seat. My suggestion to taller people, try to get the end seats. That way you can kinda stretch out a little and not be uncomfortable during the show.

Local community groups such as the Kiwanis Club, Boy Scout's, Sandy High ect. provide a variety of fair food everything from elephant ears to corn on the cob and BBQ. Artisans from all over the Northwest some out to show their wares. As well as bands, dance troupes and singers. In my opinion the big draw is the art booths and food vendors. However, they have a pageant featuring a princess or Queen in each age group, carnival rides for the kids, and other events throughout the week. However, if you aren't directly involved in the community of Sandy, the vendors are the big draw. It's exactly what it sounds like an old fashion community fair!

Don't confuse this with ballroom tango.....and this dance is not for people with space issues. Argentine tango is danced in a "close embrace". So bring breath mints and wear deodorant. I've taken tango classes at several locations and found that Alex does an excellent job of teaching this dance, and explaining the nuances of the tango. There are quite a few beginning classes here to choose from. (If you love Argentine tango there is opportunity to dance every night of the week in Portland!)

For Tango, this is the place. Many (if not all) of Portland's best dancers can be seen here and the floor energy on a good night feels like it's coming up from the floorboards. If you dance tango, you need to go here. Alex Krebs (the owner) creates a really great ambiance and has weekly classes for those who want to learn Argentine Tango. But, as the other reviewer stated, this is a dance in close embrace, so you'll be spending time in close contact with other people's body. Be prepared!
