This is such a sentimental place for my family. It's on the road between my childhood home in Minneapolis and my grandparents' home in NE South Dakota. It's part of soooo many memories! It's sewn into the tapestry of my life. But nostalgia isn't the only thing on the menu. This is a great place for breakfast... soooo many choices! My sis loved her sausage skillet. Mom and I went with lunch-really yummy fried fish for her and salad for me. We all spilt some really tasty onion rings. This is comfort food, served in a very cozy place (with lots of booths and tables-you won't be cramped), staffed by really nice, local folks. (Alyssa is awesome!) Stopped in after a wedding for a hearty breakfast and we got seated right away! The foot hit the stop, ate everything before I remembered to get a picture. The farmers scramble was very good and the service was quick. There is plenty of seating and areas if you are planning on going with a little larger group. Had no issue getting a table right away! read more

Food is good. Staff is good. No surprises. There has always been a place to park. Not as noisy as the other family resturant in town.

I love everything i've tried here, the cordon bleu breakfast skillet, the pancakes, the honey mustard chicken sandwich, the aztec burger. Staff is pretty friendly and service is fast. read more

Okay food, nothing incredibly special. Ordered the cod basket & it came with two fairly small, but decent tasting pieces of fish. The tartar sauce was extremely strong in pickle flavor. The bf had their big breakfast meal, which he enjoyed although he's really not that picky. There was so much left he took the pancakes home. Nicole, our server, was friendly, fast & conversational. We stopped by when we were in town. I had the French toast it was decent. Son had chicken strips he ate them all. Husband had the chicken dinner. He said it was good. Order came out, missing the fries to the sandwich. Half eaten before fries came out. Wife's chicken bacon melt was missing the tomato slice. Waitress comment was, "oh, most order without it". No adjustment to the bill. Daughter ordered Strawberry crepes, tasted like a jar of Smuckers ice cream topping was opened and dumped on top, way too sweet. No fresh berries at all. I came back late that day from visiting the plant. This restaurant was across from my hotel so decided to grab a quick dinner. The service was fast when I wanted a hot tea. It was cold that day and needed to warm up. I tried their steak and shrimp special which was pretty good. Waitress was courteous and asked me about my meal. Also, she gave me A1 sauce when I was starting my steak. Reasonable price and nice service gives this an above average rating in this small neck of the woods. read more

Never going back to County Kitchen in Hutchinson again! I walked in at 3pm, two patrons, and saw the 'wait to be seated' sign and looked for the waitress, who had her back to me and was chatting it up with cook. Cook saw me, took time to finish her conversation and tells waitress someone was waiting to be seated. 9 minutes. I watched them chat. I finally get seated, handed the menu, waitress, "I'll be back in a moment". I could hear her chatting with the cook. 10 minutes later she asks me if I need more time to decide. I inwardly giggled and said, 'sure'. 12 minutes later she finally comes back to take me order. I had been at this established for a half hour and still had not put in my order. The food was over cooked on the outside and slappy on the inside, bacon was so under done, I could have tied my shoe laces with them. They charged my $14 for 4 pieces of take out chicken. What?! The sign on the wall says 8 PC for $11.99. "Oh, those prices are wrong". I want my money back and you keep your $14 - 4 piece chicken. Never going back to Country Kitchen in Hutchinson MN again. This review is for their "famous" chicken....No, no, no. I mean if you like fried breading than this chicken is perfect for you. Ordered a 12 piece for pick up. Got home pulled out a leg started eating it...no chicken, no meat pure fried breading. Grabbed a breast piece and absolutely awful. It tasted burnt and was dry to the point that I ended up throwing the rest away and the breadings so hard you could bust a tooth. Disappointed, wasted time and money, not famous anything..change your oil, lay off the breading. this place has gone down hill read more

Country Kitchen is like a Denny's, IHop or Village Inn from where I came from. They serve breakfast all day. Brinner is my favorite meal ever. I had apple cinnamon pancakes which were amazing and crispy bacon. The food came out quickly and the server was very nice and checked on us frequently. I love when they bring you a new drink just when you're finishing yours without even having to ask for a refill. I will certainly be back when I need my Brinner fix and don't feel like cooking it myself! read more

Food was terrible, my husband ordered a chicken fried steak and I ordered the quesadilla burger. When the food came out, the chicken fried steak was rolled up on the corners and had a weird gray tint in the middle that they tried to cover with gravy. Looked as if it had been microwaved? My burger was inside of a tortilla with ketchup, mustard and lettuce....which is not how the menu says it comes. We returned both meals, offered to pay for our drinks and left. read more

This place has gone down hill every since Bruce left. Food portion for price is terrible. First restaurant I have seen that can mess up pancakes they are raw or hard as a rock. You can spend an easy 25 bucks for 2 people for a breakfast and walk out of there still hungry read more
