I am sure the other people posting bad reviews had completely opposite experiences I had at Country Kitchen. This is our second visit to this comforting and friendly restaurant. The first was so good we had to try again to make sure. After this visit, I told my husband to stop asking where I want to go for breakfast because this is the only place I want to eat breakfast at in Tyler. We have tired many restaurants here and this is the only that checks all the boxes. Yummy pancakes Good coffee and Orange Juice Eggs that are actually cooked and cooked to perfection The most delicious Blueberry and Lemon muffin I have ever had Eggs Benedict that actually has eggs cooked with running yoke and perfect hollandaise sauce And to top it all off, friendly and awesome service Manager even checks on his guest. Went at dinner and the place was quiet and clean. French toast was good and the pancakes were so soft and fluffy. Definitely some of our favorite pancakes. Got a side of cheese curds and liked them a lot. The meatloaf was moist and really good. It has a meaty gravy sauce and not a tomato based sauce but it paired nicely together. Super nice staff too! My brother and I decided to go to Country Kitchen this morning for breakfast. We entered the establishment and was greeted by a young lady who took us to our table. She stated that our waitress would be with us shortly. Almost 10 minutes later after watching other people being sat and getting their drink orders. I finally asked if we had a waitress. Shortly after that, a waitress appeared. She asked if we were ready to order. My brother said, " yeah since it's taking so long." We both ordered our meals (mine was the hash with an add-on muffin and his was the pancakes with eggs and bacon) and drinks and she went off to get our drinks. She came back and put our drinks down and we said thank you. A little after that I heard someone in the kitchen asked another person if they will go tell their table that they are out of something. It was our waitress asking another waitress. The other waitress came out and explained that they were out of the item that I ordered. I asked for a menu since I wasn't sure what I wanted. I ended up only getting a muffin. Now you would think that if an establishment was out of an item that they would comp you in some way and not charge you full price for an add-on item. But no they charged $5.49 for a single muffin. They didn't even give me a plate to eat it off of. It was served in a small bowl. I was better off going to Walmart and getting a four pack of muffins. Probably would have tasted better too. The waitress only checked on us once. So once my brother was done eating, we were out. It will be a long time before I go back. read more

We arrived prior to the dinner rush at about 4pm. Our order was for two sandwiches, a Patty Melt and a Rueben and one coffee. Neither of them had any cheese in the sandwich (Patty "MELT"?), The Rueben was supposed to have some swiss, and the coffee was old. The Patty Melt arrived with the bread untoasted and soggy. The online dinner menu does not match what they are currently serving. All of this for the amazing price of $30. But the place was clean. read more

I really did want to like this place. It is a new restaurant in town and I want to support new businesses and see them succeed. Our experience at lunch today, however, was far below par. I ordered the cod dinner with steamed broccoli and red potatoes. I received a plate with two fish portions that were obviously frozen and barely cooked, frozen mixed vegetables instead of steamed broccoli, and they were just warm, and mashed potatoes and gravy which I didn't order. The server brought the roasted red potatoes after I brought his attention to the error after I had eaten the rest of the meal. My wife ordered the turkey and dressing which she said was not that tasty and rather bland. She did enjoy the two sides that came with her meal. The atmosphere was chaotic with a woman who obviously is an employee but on her day off eating with her two noisy children who was constantly walking into the kitchen to get things for her table even though a server was assigned to it. Her group made it difficult to have a quiet conversation at our table. I hope the manager or owner sees the need to improve the food served or their days may be numbered with all the restaurant competition they have read more

We went for breakfast. It was great. I read the other reviews and saw that they were very mixed. Then I noticed that most people that ate dinner gave low score. Most that had breakfast gave high scores. I'm in the high score crowd. My omelette was delicious but average. Nothing special. But the PANCAKES were AMAZING. The kind of pancakes that don't need syrup. They were like my mom's but better. The omelette picture that I am posting is a western omelette I believe. It is not what I ordered. After eating a couple of bites, I realized that it was not the Meats Omelette. The waitress brought me another one and had the cook dice in the jalapeño pepper. Wow it was good. Give this restaurant a chance during breakfast hours. After reading reviews and speaking to someone that had lunch....I would go somewhere else. read more

First and last time here. We ordered a Cuban sandwich and a Reuben sandwich. One with fries and one with onion rings. Both sandwiches were soggy. The onion rings and fries were not fresh but frozen. I saw another patron's breakfast plate. The sausage was definitely something that was not cooked at the restaurant. Men's restroom had a wet floor. The staff was friendly. Our meals were about $13 each. Very expensive for such low quality. I wouldn't eat here again if it were free. I hope the new owner sees this review. Get out of this franchise. Very slow service. Waited 25 minutes for eggs and corned beef. I observed customers arriving after me and being served food quickly. After 25 minutes after ordering I got up to leave and informed the hostess about the poor service and then the server finally brought out the order. I wasn't able to eat becouse I needed to get back to work. Total time from entering the restauraunt to leaving was 30 minutes. 4th of July, 2023, around 1045 hrs, had a 15 min wait to be seated (running a 2/3 capacity) after being sat, another 10 minutes to get a drink order 5 min later drinks 2-3 minutes then order. 45 min for food, no follow-ups, no check-ins, just sat there sipping on drinks looking lost. Food finally arrives, then... food was cool and not together. Grandson ordered regular breakfast (Everyone's Favorite Pancakes), got the pancakes, no eggs, no hashbrowns, no meat. Forgot warm syrup. I had high hopes but was very disappointed. Went in on a Thursday evening and there were only a handful of customers. There was one waitress taking care of the whole dining room and seating people. She was very nice but the service was incredibly slow. We weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a big deal at first. I tried the breakfast since they tout how great the pancakes are but I was left really disappointed. For $10 I got two scrawny pieces of bacon, two eggs and two pancakes. The bacon and eggs were cooked good but the pancakes were not good. They had zero flavor to me. My husband got the cod and shrimp for $15 and it just wasn't worth the price. The cod was decent size but the shrimp were tiny and there wasn't many fries. I expected to see hushpuppies but I don't guess they serve those either. I started getting a headache and was ready to go and it took FOREVER to get paid and out of there. The place was very noisy because of the layout and it felt a little dirty. I don't think they've been open very long and the menus were pretty dingy and mine had food stains all in it. I also saw a water leak dripping right into the floor in the dining room. This place is complete chaos. The same person checking people in is also taking payments from customers who are finished dining, so the line is undefined and crazy. Then, even with half the tables empty, there was a 40 minute wait to be seated. Another 15 minutes until a girl showed up to take our drink order, explaining that she wasn't our waitress but she is just helping out. The drinks arrive with no ice, so husband goes to the drink station to get ice because not a single waitstaff showed up to take our food orders for other 20 minutes. Finally a girl shows up to take our iders but she has just cut her finger so she cant, she says. Yet another girl shows up and we placed our orders, and after another 30 minutes the food arrives. Out of 4 orders: 1 was right, 1 was wrong, and 2 didn't match the description in the menu. 2 entrees were cold, the gravy was room temp and clabbered. The corrected order arrived and we did our best to pick thru the food. A 4th waiter brings our check, and SURPRISE!! It wasn't ours. Went to pay out and I asked the guy if it was always so chaotic. He said they had 1 wait person out because she had a baby. There was no apparent manager present, and the place was super busy with lots of expectant patrons waiting. Service was horrible, food was dicey, and the ambience was poor, as there was no privacy between tables. We could hear every conversation on our side of the dining room. Lastly, the air conditioning was inadequate to keep up with the 107° temps outside. Zero stars. Do not recommend. read more
