Questions were answered with enthusiasm, recommendations were spot-on, and our drinks were never empty (hydration is important when you're weeping tears of joy over ravioli). Now let's talk about the food. The pasta was so fresh I'm fairly certain it had a birth certificate dated that morning. The sauce? I ordered two pepperoni slices by the slice, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The pizza was already prepared and on display when I ordered, yet it still took about 30 minutes to receive two slices on a day that wasn't busy. What made the wait especially frustrating was that it appeared the restaurant was preparing every other order before serving my slices, even though my food was already made and ready to be heated and served. It felt like pizza-by-the-slice orders were being placed behind full meal orders instead of being treated as the quick option they're typically expected to be. The pizza itself was also underwhelming. The sauce used on the pizza did not have a good flavor and took away from the overall taste. While the slices were edible, the quality did not match what I expected, especially given the long wait time for an order that should have been quick. I hope the restaurant considers improving both the order flow for slice customers and the consistency of the food quality, because a faster and better-tasting experience would make a significant difference. read more

Ordered the Hawaiian 18 inch extra large pizza and I have to say this is some of the best pizza I have had in a long time! Perfect sauce to cheese ratio. Not too dry, not too saucy. Doesn't cause indigestion afterwards and it's a good amount of quality for the quantity and pricing. Definite recommend. read more

This is one of the best pizzas I've had in the USA, hands down. Nice crust and excellent sauce, the ingredients were fresh and with my supreme pizza there wasn't too much of any one topping overwhelming the other. This New York Pizza is in Tyler, Texas. I'm a bit of a pizza snob, so I have high expectations. The "best of" sign had my hopes up. I ordered the normal. A large Supreme, and a large pepperoni, black olive, and green pepper. They only had a green and red pepper mix, and that was ok. Cooked fresh while I waited, then back to the hotel. The Supreme was loaded, but the other was pretty light on the peppers, enough that I couldn't really taste them. The pizza was good, but not "my great". We did enjoy it, but it didn't make my heart thump. If your in Tyler, give them a try. read more

Id reccommend by the slice because they crisp it up real nice.. and the price is actually closest to NYC ive seen. Small place at the corner of 5th and Broadway. Don't let the awkward entry situation deter you from going. It's worth the extra effort! The interior is much larger than the outside would suggest. It was clean and nice. You order at the counter and get your own drink but everything else is restaurant style. Big Plus! They are BYOB!! We had dinner salads which were fine, but the supreme pizza was probably the best we've had in Tyler. The crust was perfect and the sauce was really delicious. The pizza (we ate most of the pizza before we thought about taking a photo) and garlic knots were delicious. I thought the pasta was good but just a tad boring. The tiramisu was wonderful. Probably one of the best desserts I'd had in a while. The restaurant was clean, and the service was friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly. The server also made sure we had everything we needed before ringing up our meal. All-in-all, this was a really good experience. This used to be our favorite lunch spot. Went today and this will be our last visit. 1. Lady at counter was super loud and barges us for two drinks when we only got one and water. 2. Pizza slices are smaller now and prices went up! Price we paid was 3.95 for a slice. Board shows $3.00 3. Salad prices higher than what's on board too. 4. Butter removed from table So basically they are charging more for less and makes me wonder where else they are cutting corners.... Ingredients?
