Excellent Food. Southern cooking at its best!! Pork Steak, Fried Catfish, and Grilled Chicken are terrific.

Great locally owned restaurant in Cleveland, MS. I visited while doing some site seeing at a few museums. Its en route to the Grammy Museum. Customer service was good, my order came out hot and fast, all the food was seasoned well, priced right! The only issue was the green beans were from a can, other than that everything was excellent. I had the catfish, rice/ gravy, green beans, corn bread, and sweet tea. They cook the catfish hot to order. I didn't order desert, but they had lots of pies and cakes if you desire. Lots of seating, clean, and friendly environment. Great foodie spot if your in town, we will be back for sure!

I went for BREAKFAST. (Photo posted) Nutshell: OK. Not fancy. Deep-fried hash-brown patty. Tiny bread. Fresh eggs. Gravel parking lot. They weren't busy when I visited. Service was OK, but no follow-up after the meal was served. I had eggs, sausage, hash browns and toast. The eggs were fresh, sausage was fine but the hash browns were just a deep-fried, hash-brown patty. That was disappointing. And the toast was the smallest pieces of bread I've ever seen. Price was reasonable. OK, but I won't go back.

This place is ok, nothing special, but decent food. I arrived at 4 p.m. on a Sunday and was glad to see it still open. Sundays in Mississippi are rather slow -- even the dogs take the day off. But I digress. I was immediately confused when I entered. There was a cash register at the door, so I asked if I should wait to be seated. They said sit anywhere, then pointed me to a short serving table fronting a small kitchen and told me to go place my order. Lids covered all the food, so I couldn't tell what was available. A smeared white board had foods listed, but every item I chose wasn't available. In frustration, I finally asked if they had fried chicken (which wasn't on the board). Then I began playing musical chairs with my side orders. They didn't have okra or macaroni, so I asked for yams and corn. The server sullenly plopped my chicken on the plate with green beans and yams. I didn't complain about the wrong order. As I was doing this, a waitress came and wanted to know where I was sitting and what I wanted to drink. Silverware was wrapped in a pan at the end of the counter, but when I took my plate and reached into the pan, the server informed me that it was already at my table. I apologized and asked if I could have banana pudding for dessert, and the server told me to ask my waitress. OK, so I made it through the confusing gauntlet of half buffet, half table service, half cafeteria style. The food was just ok. Nothing special. Regular comfort food fare. It wasn't particularly seasoned and was lukewarm. The chicken was ok. Crispy but dry. The yams were quite good. The green beans were canned and were cold. The banana pudding was a sickly, nuclear mustard yellow color. I love the stuff, but I was afraid to eat this. I dipped my spoon in anyway, and it tasted ok, but I couldn't move past the color, so I only ate a few spoons. Since I had a waitress bringing food, I gave her my credit card and she disappeared. When she returned, I saw that she had rang it up without a tip. I told her I wanted to tip her and she said she had to ring it up assuming I wasn't leaving a tip since I didn't pay at the register. I apologized and gave the girl a $10 (on a $10 meal), and she simply took it and walked away. No thanks. No come again. No inquiry of how my food was. Nothing. I may have caught them on an off night, but I doubt I will try them again. The food wasn't special enough to deal with the service, and I felt very uncomfortable and out of place.

The Sunday buffet is off the hook. It was unfortunate I could only go one round, but the plate was about the length of my forearm and the servers gave such generous portions for my yams, greens, mac&cheese and baked chicken. I passed on the catfish which was a dollar or two extra since I had just had some the day before. The owner was friendly and so were the other customers who we had just met at the church down the street. Overall a great old-fashioned Southern meal for $10 even

Fried chicken, corn, cabbage and candied yams, so good!!!

The Experience: They ran a little behind schedule, and the service felt a bit rushed and impersonal once they arrived. Sauces and condiments weren't automatically offered -- I had to ask. The order flow could use some work as well; tickets weren't being honored in sequence, which meant one of my coworkers waited nearly an hour for her food. We waited on her before eating, so everything was lukewarm by the time we dug in -- which probably didn't do the food any favors. The Food: The crawfish bites and shrimp didn't quite hit the mark for me -- they tasted a little closer to store-bought than made-from-scratch. The fries were just okay, and the wings were nothing to write home about. That said, several folks in our group enjoyed the fish, so that may be the safer bet if you visit. The Star of the Show: The 122 sauce -- now that was something special. Flavorful, bold, with the most delightful little pepper bits throughout. Honestly, they should put that sauce front and center and let it do the talking. It's the kind of thing that could make you a loyal customer. With some improvements to timing, service, and consistency, 122 could really shine. I hope they keep refining -- that sauce alone tells me the potential is there. I'm glad it was a beautiful day for the long wait.

Hell, I go to Doe's in Monroe every single time I am in Monroe. When I would profess my love for Doe's to my Mississippi friends they would always tell me: "you have to go to the Greenville location. It's the original". I figured they were right but also figured I would never be in Greenville since there are not many things to do there. But 2025 was the year that I finally made it here. We made a special stop on the way to Eureka Springs. It was everything I had hoped and I absolutely loved it. You must know that this is the original location and it is not fancy on the outside or the inside. Parking is mostly on the street and the neighborhood seems a wee bit sketchy. The building looks like an old house from the outside. Needless to say, the kids were skeptical and wondered why their dad drug them here. That continued when we walked in to the kitchen, walked through the other kitchen, and were seated in one of the rooms. One of the kids said: "I feel like I am dining at someone's house". Exactly. This place is famous! All skepticism was washed away when we got our food. A ribeye and fries for me and a fillet and fries for them to share. Both were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and made this Doe's fan grin from ear to ear. It was a great meal I will remember forever. Was it cheap? Definitely not. For two entrees, a beer, and a tea, it was around $200 with a tip. Was it worth it to me? Hell yes. I freakin loved it. Is it worth a drive from New Orleans just to eat here? Probably not. Should you divert a road trip to eat here? Absolutely. By the way, service was exactly as you would expect. Super friendly and we were treated like regulars despite it being our first time. Also, there was a cop working outside so don't be scared.

I dreamt of the Pork Chop we had last year, for the whole year, till I could get back here again & have it again for me Birthday.. and again, it was so freakin Amazeballs. Everything was cooked perfectly. Nailed both pork chops. The Lafitte sauce is so delicious, just get it on everything, that's my advice haha :)... The tuna tartare was also so Amazeballs we had to order one to go. We also ordered the Fettuccine with the Lafitte sauce with chicken to go, ohmygosh hubby & I fought over that next day at brunch! :).. The cheesy grits are a must order. Not your average grits. The grind is a much heartier grind. The quality & texture is superb. And topped with their "Lafitte sauce" AKA crawfish cream sauce ohmygosh. Heavenly :)... Reservations are a must. Not quite as knowledgeable about the menu as we would like but that's not a dealbreaker. Mike had the Saint Charles shrimp. It was incredible. Those grit cakes were the best I've ever had. The Lafitte sauce is so good. I had the Lafitte pasta with blackened and shrimp. I highly recommend the blackened shrimp. They were top-notch. The fettuccine was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce has a nice smoky flavor. The house fries were tasty, but could've been a bit hotter. The rolls were nice and warm and served with real butter. Real butter is always a bonus. The homemade ranch with a side salad was really good. I noticed a couple of people mentioned the prices on the menu. This is quality, fresh seafood, it's worth paying a little extra for. Sadly, the server brought the check with without asking if we wanted dessert. I had debated on the King cake bread pudding, but she settled that for me. We would definitely go and do recommend Nola Sidenote, when we walked in the door, we were greeted by a beautiful young lady, with very bright pink hair. She was so friendly and polite, we were a bit disappointed that we did not get her as our server.
