    BBQ shrimp

This place is a gem. The staff were polite and professional. The atmosphere and food were amazing. I ordered the Bbq shrimp for my appetizer and they were delicious!! My ribeye was cooked to perfection and very tender. I asked for Lafayette sauce to add to my baked potato to kick it up a notch and boy did it!! And last but not least, the bread pudding, word can't describe how good this was!! It's a must if available. If you're in the area and looking for a wonderful dinning experience this is the place. Thank you to the chef and staff.

The best shrimp & grits! And the staff are very nice too! Reservations are recommended. We were lucky enough that they were not too busy to fit us in

2nd visit since they've reopened and I must say, small diner with superb service and tasteful food!! Unfortunately, the Caesar salad dressing wasn't my favorite, but literally Every other dish I've tasted has been a five! Darren the Waiter has tended my table on both visits and I love him!! I like a waiter/waitress who can describe the dishes on the menu!. He's GOOD! Oh the Lafitte sauce is to die for

Lovely restaurant and we're from the big city. It's not fancy decor but the good and drinks are fabulous. Definitely recommend the shrimp and grits. And the Snickertini was delightful.

Delicious food, good menu, great atmosphere, stellar service. One of my top 3 restaurants in the Delta so far. We went last Tuesday night and were the last table seated. For appetizers we ordered fried tamales, which were solid - with 3 good dipping sauces, and Shrimp YaYa, which was delicious. My girlfriend also got a cup of gumbo, which was on point. I ordered the grilled pork chop with the cajun seafood cream sauce, and a twice-baked potato as my side. It was absolutely delicious! She ordered a grilled chicken salad, which was a very good sized portion. Something else that was really cool - at 9pm (normal closing time for the restaurant) there were about 10-12 regulars at the bar watching the FX TV show Justified, and they were all really into it. I've seeing "viewing parties" like this before in Philly, but not in the Delta. It was cool to see, and added to the great atmosphere.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes…read more Everything was amazing. We started with a dozen tamales. They were seasoned perfectly and were delicious. Then they brought out the broiled shrimp. The sauce was so good, I could have bathed in it. It was like liquid lemon pepper. We dipped the garlic rolls into the sauce. So good. The steak was a 42-45 oz porterhouse that was the best steak I have even had. And I've been to some world famous steak restaurants. This blew Peter Lugers out of the water. The fries were fresh, hand cut and cooked perfectly, The salad was simple but one of my favorite parts of the meal. The staff was super friendly. The atmosphere was quaint and welcoming. This was far out of the way for us but so worth it.

Hell, I go to Doe's in Monroe every single time I am in Monroe. When I would profess my love for Doe's to my Mississippi friends they would always tell me: "you have to go to the Greenville location. It's the original". I figured they were right but also figured I would never be in Greenville since there are not many things to do there. But 2025 was the year that I finally made it here. We made a special stop on the way to Eureka Springs. It was everything I had hoped and I absolutely loved it. You must know that this is the original location and it is not fancy on the outside or the inside. Parking is mostly on the street and the neighborhood seems a wee bit sketchy. The building looks like an old house from the outside. Needless to say, the kids were skeptical and wondered why their dad drug them here. That continued when we walked in to the kitchen, walked through the other kitchen, and were seated in one of the rooms. One of the kids said: "I feel like I am dining at someone's house". Exactly. This place is famous! All skepticism was washed away when we got our food. A ribeye and fries for me and a fillet and fries for them to share. Both were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and made this Doe's fan grin from ear to ear. It was a great meal I will remember forever. Was it cheap? Definitely not. For two entrees, a beer, and a tea, it was around $200 with a tip. Was it worth it to me? Hell yes. I freakin loved it. Is it worth a drive from New Orleans just to eat here? Probably not. Should you divert a road trip to eat here? Absolutely. By the way, service was exactly as you would expect. Super friendly and we were treated like regulars despite it being our first time. Also, there was a cop working outside so don't be scared.

It's the kind of eatery where the waitresses call you "baby" which is a respected Deep South Tradition. I ordered the 1/2 po boy & 1/2 gumbo lunch with a side dish (I chose baked potato salad) for $14. The food arrived about 10 minutes later. My sandwich was a grilled shrimp po boy on bread that tasted like it was from Gambino's. It was very good taste wise and I enjoyed it. Ditto on the cup of seafood gumbo with shrimp in it and with a good tasting roux too. Finally the baked potato salad was creamy, cool and flavorful. Altogether this was a very good meal. On the front door is a sign saying that they charge an extra 4% for credit card usage. Also, on my check were two prices, one for cash and the other for credit. While I detest restaurants that charge extra for credit card usage, I will give Gumbo Pot credit in that they clearly disclose that fee on the door and on the bill but I still hate it.
