Pizzalano - Broccoli pizza was so good!

Delicious pizza spot in Fonda, NY, the crust is perfection! I feel like the crust truly makes or…read morebreaks a pizza! They have lunch deals for by the slice! Food was great, my only recommendation is maybe a mini split install for guest in the dining area, it was very hot on July 1st. Just difficult to eat hot delicious pizza and be hot indoors.

Located on NY Routes 5 & 30A (W Main St) across from Cumby's in Fonda, Pizzalano (formerly Italian…read moreOven & Sorrenti's Pizzeria) is a casual family owned and operated pizza restaurant serving up traditional & specialty thin crust pizzas (14" & 18" pies or by the slice), calzones, salads, pasta fagioli, pasta, cold & hot subs, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, cinnamon sticks, banana bread, and cooler drinks. The pricing is moderate here. The place is order at the counter and there is table seating to enjoy your food in house. There is parking on-street in front of the business and off-street parking along the right side of the building, much easier actually to park in the lot since W Main St can get very busy. I stopped in at Pizzalano very recently for takeout. I ordered a Slice of Cheese Pizza for in house and for takeout, the Baked Zili ($14.30 plus tax) with One Meatball (add $2.30 plus tax), served with side salad and bread. The slice of Cheese Pizza was reheated in the oven and given to me to enjoy as I waited for the Baked Ziti to go. The hot pizza slice had a thin firm crust with no thick edge & screen bottom, minimal red sauce and ample browned melted cheese, pretty decent. The Baked Ziti with salad and bread was all set in about 20 minutes after ordering. I headed back to the house to enjoy my takeout dinner. The good portion of ziti (penne) was cooked soft smothered in red sauce & cheeses and topped with a modest amount of mozzarella cheese, firm meatball on top. The side salad had crisp lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions & green peppers, dressing cup on the side. The white Italian bread and butter was typical. Overall, the food was pretty good and the staff was pleasant.

I was shocked how much food I got and for such a good price!…read more I got egg noodles with chicken and of course allllll the veggies. But even still they kept telling me I could add more veggies. Even after it cooked by bowl was FULL. I couldn't come close to eating it all and was able to have it the next day for dinner. Plenty of sauce - not dry at all. I got sriracha ginger, not very spicy just FYI. Everything was cooked well - and fast. They even bring your food to your table. I was shocked how good the food was. They also use compostable bowls/lids, which was another nice touch. I even got a soda and the total was only $13!!!!

Place was cute and inviting. Loved the fact you can pick as many veggies as you want in your stir fry or salad. I went with a chicken and veggie stir fry with spicy Chajang Gochu sauce. Hubs got chicken and veggie stir fry with the siracha ginger sauce along with an order of the pork potstickers. Sauce for potstickers was delicious. Bowls were also very good mine a little sweeter but more spicy. If you like ice tea highly recommend their teas that are brewed in house. Mango green tea was delish and peach oolong tea was good a little too sweet for me but good flavor. Definitely recommend this place and we will be back.

I would like to go back but they have so few options it's not fun or interesting. Yes the food is good. I wish I could get the "full" menu at the bar. I like the fact that you see food you don't see anywhere else up here and it is quality and well prepared. What really bothers us is that you must order everything up front. This is really unacceptable. My wife and I like to order appetizers with appropriate wine and then see which way we are going. Yes I understand it's easier on the kitchen but comm on: you only have three entrees!!!!! The bartending couple that work there are knowledgeable and professional. The wine is not kept behind the bar bit strangely kept on a table outside the kitchen. Really awkward. That being said we would like to go back but will not due to the aforementioned reasons. It's a shame this place could be great.

I've had the pleasure and privilege of dining at some of the most reputable establishments in NYC and LA, and this ranks in the top tier. The flavors were intricate yet subtle, and I loved that it was vegetable forward. My "Not a Negroni" was the best Negroni I've had, hands down. I wasn't sure how the Rum and Pineapple Amaro would work together, but they were exquisite compliments. The homemade sourdough and butter came out hot and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. It was hard to resist ordering more. A simple salad of lettuces, cucumber, cheese and light dressing blew my mind -- perfect for summer. I got the dauphine potatoes, which were like potato croquettes, and the addition of prosciutto made them a hearty and filling dish. The only miss for me were the desserts -- the flavor of the lemon tart was excellent but there was a jello-like encasing that seemed out of place and unnecessary. The mousse also had these strange jello-like pieces in the cream, which didn't really work for me. Next time, I would get the sundae. Our server, Amanda, was friendly and attentive without being overly watchful, and when she got busy, the host came over and helped us order drinks. This place is a gem, and I look forward to returning.
