Bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cheese served over a bed of rice
Seana A.

I am in town visiting family and friends and of course I had to stop at the Raindancer! It hasn't changed in appearance one bit and has that amazing vibe! Our server was superb and very attentive. When I shared my food allergies, not only did she share it with the chef, the chef, Steve, came out to introduce himself. I felt very well taken care of throughout this experience. I had a bacon cheeseburger with smashed potatoes. It was delicious! I am actually returning tonight with more friends. I highly recommend you checking out The Raindancer when you are in the area.

Prime rib, roasted vegetables (yum), potato

Attended a catered event where I had pre-selected prime rib from the options. Others got the chicken parm or seafood lasagna. Crisp veggies, a variety of cheeses, and very large shrimp were at cocktail hour. Everyone was very pleased with their food and most the service. The room with all the windows was very cold and it was awkward wearing a coat to eat like that. I've eaten here before for late lunch/early dinners. It's okay. Really the only "restaurant" around. Not my vibe but nice for the area and food is always good.

I recently had an excellent lunch here with a group of friends. We were a bit of a handful and the server was unfazed by our numerous questions regarding the menu, add-ons, rounds of coffee and drinks, etc. He got our orders down to a T. The grilled salmon salad was excellent, as was the chocolate mousse and Mexican coffee. I would return!

Our bill for 2 adults and a 3 year old...

Raindancer has gone so down hill it's not even funny. From the quality of food to the quality of service. Such a disappointment, as this used to be a nice spot for a good meal (not any more) We were offered the early bird special for an extra $5 each. This included salad, dessert, and coffee or tea. We decided to do this and when coming to desert we were told our options. Made selection and instead of it being included we were charged for both full price. When notifying the waitress she said we ordered the wrong options (she told us our options). You'd think they credit this mistake but nope, they took 2 sodas "off" (we never drank them). $100 meal for 2 ppl and a 3 year old.... Ridiculous. Such a shame and the food was really subpar for a place that used to be above those around. Don't go here, go down the road to The Rustic Loft, much better service, atmosphere, and food!

The steak is usually great, but everything else I have ever had here is mediocre at best. For the price, everything should be excellent.

Went here for the first time on a recommendation from a friend. Friday early evening, 3 of us, we…read morewere seated right away. The menu was small (usually means they focus on doing less things well, rather than many things mediocre). Beer selection was decent. I ordered the "Hot Honey Chicken Tacos." Was I wrong to expect the chicken to be tossed in hot honey rather than hot honey just drizzled over the fried chicken tacos? I was disappointed when I got what was set in front of me. Also, you're going to give me a mess of hot honey all over these fried chicken tacos and not have wet wipes?? My hands were like little kid sticky afterwards. The other two in our party of 3 had sandwiches. One got fries with their meal. The other got tater tots. The sandwiches came out without the sides. The fries shortly afterwards, but like 10 minutes later the tater tots finally came out after we spoke to the very nice waitress. I guess I don't understand why we can't send out complete meals with any kind of coordination. All in all the atmosphere was good. The waitstaff was nice. The drinks were good. The food was ok but overall it wasn't mind blowing. Oh! And I'm so glad I didn't have to drive or find parking because that was a hot mess in an of itself. You should go try it. You might have a better experience. I guess I expected more.

So that happened…read more About to sit down for our second meal in two nights at The Nest/Schenectady (not the subject of this review). Why? Why would we drive 20 minutes in the rain and fog on St Patrick's and not eat at the lobby restaurant (this restaurant) where we were guests for two nights? Why walk out on our reservation? The reservation made with the front desk? Incompetence. Disrespect. Complete inability to remedy multiple screw ups. We were taken to our table with a cute little reserved placard on it. Unnecessary, but ok. There were three tables dining. Of dozens. As in the place was completely empty. Tables everywhere. Ours? Right next to the point-of-sale system against the bar. We asked to move. A dozen tables were available away from the bar. As it turns out, the significantly warmer side of the venue. Nope. The gentleman states that we can only sit on the kitchen entrance side close to the main door. In an empty restaurant. We sat there for about two minutes before it was clear we'd be cold from the main door draft and even more frustrated by the loud yelling in the kitchen. The ice crunching from the bartender was the only thing that made it comical. Seriously, within two minutes my neck was stiff from the cold at the second table. My wife's feet, in boots, we're getting chilled. I'd be furious if this wasn't a first world thing. It is a first world thing. But if you're looking for a nice dining experience in an empty restaurant and the staff wants to sit your reservation made, suite (just a bigger room) staying butt in front of the kitchen or POS system rather than accept that the guest isn't satisfied with the hospitality... As I said, we left. We won't be back. At least I got a nice text letting me know they canceled our reservation.
