Service was friendly but thats where it stops. The server was late either bringing waters. The food was all served on separate plates and different times. I ordered an omelette which came with tots and toast. Each served on separate plate. The toast was not brought for a second person in the party. Pretty quiet for a saturday morning. My husband and I frequent Ogallala and have repeatedly eaten at Country pride . There used to be to be a wonderful male server . He made experience wonderful. The food was good Last 2 times the server ( female ) was ditzy food was horrendous. Restaurant was dirty . Last time we waited 45 minutes for food and left before being service . Went to Wendy's , Today waited 35 minutes and I got traditional breakfast. Biscuits looked like a hockey puck ,,, eggs over easy were cold . Mixed review--My triple decker four cheese melt was pretty good. Not sure if it was worth $15 though since it doesn't come with soup. And my grits. I never knew you could mess up grits this bad. Literally tastes like water. No seasoning at all. The consistency is literally water with sprinkles of cornmeal. Maybe being from Georgia where grits are a staple (thick, creamy and buttery) this how grits are in Nebraska. Idk. Just don't get the grits. If you do, make sure to request a straw. read more

This was my second time stopping and here as a truck driver. The first time, I couldn't get anyone to wait on me or even acknowledge me so I walked across the street and ate at Mi Ranchito Restaurant. Today I decided to give ole Country Pride another try. Sadly that was a mistake. My server Tessa was evidently in a bad mood and I felt like I was in the way of her day. She never smiled once or cared if I needed anything. On our way home to Brighton, CO from Iowa we stopped at Country Pride for dinner, and they were very busy. However, the service and the food were outstanding, and we would recommend eating there. Unfortunately, when we left, I forgot my cell phone on the table. I called the next day from home and visited with the manager Dana. He insisted on mailing it to me at no charge and I received the cell phone the next day. My wife and I were very impressed with the kindness and overall experience we had at the Country Pride at the Travel Centers of America and the manager Dana Jeppson and staff members. read more

I chose probably the healthiest item on the menu, grilled chicken with mango salsa and a side of broccoli. The chicken was tender and juicy, the mango salsa was freshly made, and the broccoli was not overcooked. Most importantly, our server was friendly, and helpful. Since we were just passing through, I don't anticipate frequenting this place but for anyone passing through, enjoy an inexpensive meal in a friendly place. read more

Got our food in several servings. Seemed like the cooks were sleep-walking through their jobs. One waitress was more interested in chatting to a single customer than doing work. Our waitress was older and kind. Apologized for bringing food in shifts. Did not solve the luke warm to cold nature of vegetables. Never got a refill on drinks. Have to walk up to the check out stand just to ask if we are going to get service then told she "didn't see us", after she said she saw us walk in. For a truck stop diner this place was surprisingly tasty! They forgot my side of gravy but I didn't go back since were already on way to the lake. Some hot sauce would have been nice- it was all pretty bland but I'll take what I can in a town where there is NOTHING TO CHOOSE FROM in this small town on a holiday weekend. Just like every other restaurant, this place doesn't have enough help. We sat at the "cleanest" dirty table and waited at least 15 min before anyone acknowledge that we were here. We ordered drinks and food at the same time, I got coffee with cream but nothing to stir the coffee. I used the straw from my husbands soda to stir my coffee. I ordered the pancake combo, the sausage was hot, the pancakes warm and the scrambled eggs were cold. My husband had the chicken fried steak with Eggs. We both think that if the food were served hot, the meal would have been really good. read more

Horrible breakfast salty and did not receive what we ordered! I asked for turkey sausage scramble with eggs and asked for no green peppers, son order pancakes and got French toast the food was cold and all you tasted like salt! The manager did do the right thing when we complained but when she walked over she said the waitress did say you ordered without green peppers and I sorta wondered why she didn't make it right when she served it! This is an older TA which in and of itself is not a bad thing. The parking lot is odd and in need of repair. They get points for having a doggy play area, but they get points taken away for it not being fenced in for off leash playing. Now let's discuss the restaurant, and the reason I'm only providing two stars on this review. I ordered a fairly simple meal, steak and eggs with them cakes. I ordered the steak medium, it was prepared well done. I ordered the eggs over easy, I could've used him as coasters. The pancakes they did not screw up. The poor cooking was exasperated by the even worse service. There were exactly 3 other patrons in the restaurant at this time and a staff of sex. With a staff of sex do you think someone would at least refill my drink. This was not the case. The "Waitress" who is over my area was in training. I'm not quite sure what she was in training for. Clearly it wasn't for a job as a waitress. I do believe she was in training for Candy Crush because she could not put her damn phone down long enough to do her job. read more

I give this place a 3 star only. Reason 1.. because it was messy! Every table had food or napkins under it. Tables looked sticky. Reason 2.. it was a really old building. It is very noticeable that this restaurant is in dearie need of an update. Reason 3.. it smelled like urine... like someone peed in the middle of the floor and no one cleaned it... BUT! All that aside, the food was really good! That saved the rating here. If not it would've been a 1 star. The food was cooked just right! Not over cooked not under cooked! After driving 19 hours from California this place was an oasis. The food was legit gravy on point and I highly recommend the chicken fried steak. You can cut it with a fork. This restaurant is the only cafe/diner style restaurant in town. It has every opportunity to be great and provide a service to its community. Unfortunately they aren't great, they are dirty, slow, rude and did I mention slow? They have absolutely zero customer service. They don't welcome you in, they act as if they are doing you a favor to take your order, and they completely ignore your table during your long wait time to receive your food. It is a seat yourself establishment but they don't pay attention to you so be prepared to wait 10 plus minutes to even get a menu, but don't expect a hello or a welcome. We stopped in 7-23-2018. 11:40 A.M. The menu had meals that included the soup/salad bar....But there was nothing in the soup/salad bar. I asked the waitress about that and was told it was not set up until 11 A.M. That was 40 minutes ago. She said there had been a bus load in earlier and things got real busy. That is understandable. The real issue with this place was about to play out. We placed our orders and the waitress sent it in to the kitchen. She then got a mop bucket and started mopping the floor behind the counter. An elderly waitress then came out of the kitchen and started to rant about someone that must not have made it in to work that morning. We heard what a bunch of B***S*** that person always pulls and some other colorful rants about laziness. To her credit, our waitress kept mopping and did not join in the conversion. Then at about noon the soup/salad bar was getting set up. Two other people then came out of the kitchen and started to rant at the soup/salad bar (probably about the same employee). One said I am not coming in tomorrow. I don't give a G**D**** if so and so has to come in tomorrow on her anniversary. I am not coming in. Three people stood around for 10 minutes and kept this foul talk going. As far as the food goes, it was OK, nothing special. The bill had the owners phone number to call. I was going to call him up and advise about employees swearing right in front of customers. Unfortunately the receipt was misplaced. read more
