Called the phone number listed and they "think" our reserved spot was taken by an RV that had mechanical issues and couldn't move. ?????? The 3 spaces showing available each had $200k Class A unit in them that did not look broken down. Nobody answered when I knocked on the RV door, nor did I see anyone there during our stay. The owner told us to pick an empty spot. They also said that they need to get over to the park since they haven't been there in awhile?????? Poorly run and needs updating, even though the web page looks promising.

They let us check in fairly late with no reservation which was very nice. Nothing fancy. Very basic amenities. Level spots, mostly 75 ft. pull through. Close to gas and the highway. There is a bit of road noise from I-40. It's cash/check only. Only major complaint is that the electric hookups are not breakered which made it nerve wracking to hook up.

Russ explained that he had a spot and let him know when I get close. I called Russ at 1:30 am on my arrival date. Russ came out and help me set up my fifth wheel. That is the kind of service you get at country critter. Very friendly, always there to help. I stayed for 4 months. I hated to go but it was time to move on to the next spot. I will always remember Country Critters.

Tammy was instrumental in making sure that we we headed in right direction during several calls for us from the road. The site was completely manicured to the nine. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. The Pups loved the areas around or site for walking and lounging on the grass. The Pickwick Dam is about 8 miles from the camp ground and a golf course is just across the street from the State campground. Perfect location and a perfect stay! Thank you Tammy and team!!!

Self serve check in but we had reserved and paid ahead through RoverPass. Not a place to stay longer because it's out in the middle of nowhere. They do have nice bathrooms and showers. Full hookup available. Some of the sites weren't marked so it was hard to figure out where your site number was. And there were a lot of big trees with branches hanging down. Harder for big rigs to get under. Overall ok for a quick overnight stay while traveling.
